This wireless router is exactly what I wanted; I was looking for a wireless setup in order to use my laptop and to get rid of the ethernet cord going across the living room to my bedroom. And this wireless router does the job just great, plus my house mate can use the wired feature for his equipment. Very awesome product!

About 8 months after I bought it it suddenly stopped working. I thought it may be an upgrade issue, but how do you upgrade when you have no computer connection?! I went to a hot spot, but the link would not work. Tech support on the phone, when I finally got through the phone menu, was horrible, would not even begin to help me and wanted to forward me to someone I had to PAY to help me. I didn't do anything! It just stopped working. Am throwing it away and buying a recommended one, with easy customer interface and good support. As I can see from other reviews, same "suddenly stops working" problem, with no solution, so I think my decision to replace it will save me tons of time and heartache.

I don't remember why I bought this router, but I wish I hadn't. I think I paid $80 for it too.I get 11mps right next to it, and 7mps if I walk ten feet away, then 1mps in my bedroom. 'RangeMax' is a complete joke. Needs to be unplugged frequently. Garbage.

This router / modem was refurbished so I was a bit worried but after weeks of use, im very happy. It was a beeeze to set up and it sends a geeat signal out. Couldnt be happier.

Let me just say, this product has greatly surprised me. It works AMAZING. at least for the setup i have here in my home. my previous asus pci card for my desktop was going bad and interfering with my sound card. I work at staples as a computer technician and must say I'm going to greatly recommend this to both desktop and laptop users. much simpler than a thumb drive size adapter.so all in all, this product is completely a WIN. Go buy it!

I bought this router more than a year ago replace the dead D-Link router, which lasted about 5 yrs. I get much faster upload/download speed with this Netgear RangeMax router in compares to old router. With the router in 2nd floor of my house, my laptop gets 5 bars of wifi connection from the first floor. With my old router, I usually got 3 or 4 bars with same laptop and location. Overall, I'm very happy with this router so far.

The product arrived quickly and was exactly as represented. Had a really difficult time getting the thing hooked up to work properly. Still not sure if it was the fault of the router, my computer settings or most likely operator error however the Netgear tech support was stupendous and together we finally got it up and going like a dream! Plus, he did not make me feel like an idiot. LOL The only problem now is that I am angry with myself for not doing this so much sooner!!!!

I've had three of these units. You would think I'd learn! The first crapped out and customer support was not responsive. The second worked intermittently and would disconnect without notice or reason. The third won't allow iPod or iPad to connect and won't allow printing to one printer from a PC but OK to another wireless printer. Many requests for help from manufacturer, even offered to pay shipping both ways to send product for evaluation or repair, were ignored. Never got an answer. No more NetGear for me!

My daughter was able to set this up with relative ease. It has worked well for her at her condominium, best on the same floor, but was able to access the internet when in her room down the stairs. Never had to shut it down & reboot to improve service.

I use this with a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop with Windows 7 on it. Installing the drivers from the mini-cd was easy. Encountered no problems connecting to my Medialink wireless N router. Checking my connection speed through Windows' Network and Sharing Center showed 54 Mbps. I found that strange since I was hoping to see something faster than that. Doing some research on the internet, I found my answer. I changed my security type setting from WPA personal to WPA2 personal and the encryption type from TKIP to AES on my router and laptop. Now my connection speed is 150 Mbps. Surfing the internet doesn't seem any different, but just knowing that something improved makes me feel better. The adapter is small and unobtrusive so I don't have to worry about accidentally breaking it off. Lastly, this thing does blink with a blue light. It doesn't bother me, but I know some might find it annoying.

So i bought this after exchanging this Belkin N150 Wireless USB Adapter (Latest Generation) back to target because it didn't work correctly. This one works perfect. You get great speed, better range than advertised, and you also get 10$ of free music from emusic after signing up for a trail.

I got the wireless adaptor to match my router.. unfortunately the disk install wont work. ive cleaned it out of my computer and retried several times. cant get the install from sdisk to work. just wasted some money. will have to call tech support when i get time or throw it out and buy someone elses.

This is the worst pos ever. Constantly drops wireless signal, requiring reset across multiple platforms and devices. Netgear is the worst Internet device manufacturer ever. Will never purchase another instantly deprecated netgear device with no support and no firmware upgrades to repair their terrible products.

Great router - reliable with good range. Works great on both 5GHz and 2.4Ghz bamnds. i used it with MacOS Lion, Tiger and Snow Leopard together with Windows 7 and Linux. No problems at all. I will recommend it highly.

What's worse than a modem/router that is permanently broken? One that is intermittently broken.Setup was fine and then I seemed to be connected to the internet. Hurrah! Not so fast...The modem/router they sent drops connections about once an hour. Hmm... So I tried a different computer. Same problem. Is it my DSL connection? Got the helpful folks at Sonic.net to come around and take a look. No, it's not my DSL connection. So I try yet another computer and moved house as well, just to check it wasn't the DSL connection (OK, so I didn't move house just to check it wasn't the DSL connection, but we did happen to move in any case).And then you read about the firmware debacle and... well.. sigh...

Couldn't find much about this before I ordered it for a MacBook. The fact that there is no literature about setting it up for Mac on Net-Gear's website should have been a tip off but I thought I'd try it. Macbook V4.1 does not recognize it. We returned the item with no problem.

After doing some basic research, I settled on the Netgear router. It arrived promptly, very well packed, and was quite easy to set up for a "non-techie". It works perfectly, running two desktops, two laptops, my Kodak 6150 printer, and my grand kids' I-pads, when they come over. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the product and the ease of operation.

I don't normally provide product reviews, but this is an outstanding product. I was going to go with a cheaper mini-dongle style unit, but I decided to go for this model as a family member has one. Not only does it provide great speed and ease of use, but the accessories that come with it are ingenious as well.First, about installation (Windows XP) - I had best results using Windows to manage the adapter, and using the Netgear program to merely monitor the unit. You might want to change back and forth to see what gives you best results. Once you get it installed though, it works flawlessly, hooking up to the internet each time you turn the computer on just like an internal card.Now, on to the accessories - this unit comes with a USB extension cord, holder, and velcro pads. This enables you to mount it away from the computer, extending the range greatly for those in a large house. I had trouble getting a steady signal when mounted on the computer, so I stuck the unit on the wall and have had terrific reception.It's a good product with some great extras - definitely worth the extra expense compared to slightly cheaper options.

I've had this Netgear 3300 v1 router for a few year as a replacement for my ISP router that did not have the distance or features I was looking for. this is the third i've gotten... and they've all worked on linux distros i've used... of course they also work on windows... but if u need one to get wireless working on linux... get this adapter.

I am fond of the sleek look of this particular wireless router. The disc drive on my laptop is shot, fortunately it came with alternative set up route via internet and it was so quick and easy... loved the step by step/picture guide haha. It was cheap and shipped timely. I've been using it for a week or so and could not be happier. :)

This is the second Netgear router I've purchased. The first is in my apartment and this one was a Christmas present for my parents, who wanted to be able to use a wireless laptop in their house. We hooked the router up to their cable modem in the basement and it works very well in all parts of their large, ranch-style house. The wireless works no matter which room we're in, upstairs or down. Set-up is exceedingly simple, as it was with the one we purchased for ourselves. Including plugging in cords, restarting the cable modem, and setting up the wireless account - it took less than 10 minutes.These routers are great for people who are not experts at networking. The instructions are clear, short, and easy to follow.

These devices are great for the money, IF you have the latest firmware. Update to v2.1.2.67 and the issues with connectivity will be resolved (assuming you configure the device and other network devices correctly).I'm a Full Time IT Support Tech and Electronic Engineer, and am often called in to fix other people's network service configuration disasters and wiring rats nests.

I bought this router for my parents so that they could use their new iPad 2. It was very simple to setup, and I got it working in less than 5 minutes. Right out of the box I plugged it into the cable modem, plugged in the AC adapter, and loaded the CD that came with the router. I followed the simple instructions, and viola, the iPad was connected to the internet in no time. The range is solid, and could probably be better if I put it in a better place (right now its on just a shelf that is kinda low), but they get 2 bars in their living room which is 70 feet away and 3 walls.I only set it up yesterday, but so far so good. Its not being used as a repeater or range booster, so I can't comment on the use of that. But for what my parents use it for, it perfectly suits their needs.

I have purchased a Netgear WNR3500. Biggest mistake ever. Less than 2 months later, while the router was auto-updating the firmware it got bricked. For some reason it won't come out of the "no connectivity" loop. When I have tried to register the router on the Netgear page for the "life time warranty", it defaulted to the initial date when the router was launched on the US market: 2009.Needless to say, I have called the customer support and after 2 hours of run around on the phone, some dude told me in a broken English, that I have to have a proof of purchase within a year. Long story short, I have sent the receipt to them and I am still waiting for a confirmation that they have received it ( 2 weeks already).Last NETGEAR product I will ever buy. Do yourself a favor - go with any other manufacturer, no body beats NETGEAR at the worst customer non service.

I bought this router because I have used a netgear router at a previous house for a few years straight with no problems. I maybe had to power cycle to thing once and all other times it worked flawlessly. Setting this thing up was just as simple as any other router but I ran into a problem I have NEVER experienced before working with quite a few wireless routers over the years. I have a decent amount of wireless networks surrounding me (around 5 from what I can tell) and this Netgear was having a serious issue keeping my devices connected. The SSID would appear/disappear, devices would connect for hours straight then suddenly drop out for no reason, and a power cycle was never a solution (it was just random). So after about a day I called Netgear support (a lot better than many support lines out there, my guy could speak English very well) and we figured out the problem was I needed to set the channel broadcast to either 1, 6, or 11 (so called non interference channels, never had to use this while working with routers ever, I have always left it on "auto"). Once I set the channel to 1 this thing has worked flawlessly without a hiccup since then. The wireless N allows for a huge range increase over the traditional B/G router. I know this because we have a home theater loft above the garage and we could never get any sort of wireless signal up there with a G router. But now it is 4/5 bars all the time and super fast (with a device that has wireless N capability).Other than the wonky initial set up I love this thing and I wish I could give it a full 5 stars but the frustrating first day is keeping me from doing that. I could imagine this kind of problem would be insanely frustrating for someone not very experienced with wireless routers but if one would call customer support they eventually would have gotten you there (although the step I took was literally the last thing the support guy could give me to try).

we had a 7 year old net gear wireless router,ordered this new one,cheep 28.00 amazon.3 days later im hooked up. i went to net gear with a question.can i just plug the new one up replacing the old one ?they wanted 24.00 to answer question.well needless to say i did hook it up ,my way .turned computors on..and away we go. im very pleased with this and its fast as h l.thank you net gear..keep up the good work.

This is a fine wireless router, well above average. It has a few shortcomings that I'll get to in a moment.The good stuff: It's got lots of features -- wired ports, WiFi, VPN. It's pretty easy to configure, especially if you're familiar with networking.The not-so-good stuff: The Web-based configuration utility is fine, but somewhat strangely laid out, especially for content filtering. The screens all work, but they are somewhat confusing. The content filtering works well, but it's not as flexible as I had hoped.I bought this to keep the kids away from video games. The content filtering is sort of ok for that, but it's inflexible. You can permit access by time of day, and you can deny access to certain Web sites, but you can't deny access to certain sites at specific times of day. It's all or nothing. The content filtering works well, but if you have more than a few words you're trying to filter out, you'll find that Web pages load more slowly because the router has to scan them for your blocked words.So in summary, for the price paid I'm happy. I wish it did a bit more for content filtering, but for the price this is a pretty good deal.

This did not work from day 1. I finally sent the item back, it is garbage. This is not user friendly, contained no instructions, and once connected did not extend my internet signal.

This works fine if I want to use my neighbors wireless network. Even a room away it has problems connecting to my network despite showing a strong signal. My roku and other laptop work fine on my network so I don't understand why this makes an exception. Even when manually connecting to my network it takes 3 or more tries. Does just fine at my girlfriends so I can't say it never works. After several months and reloading the drivers 3 times I'm going to retire this one and buy a Belkin.

This install was "plug and play". No DVD to mess with. Took about 10 minutes. Only concern was "adding" other devices it was going to "talk to" IE WIFI TV...easy.

This adapter does exactly what it says it will. It works perfectly with my Netgear dual band router (on the 5 GHz band). Set up was easy, and fairly self explanatory. This adapter is very small (the picture makes it seem larger) and light weight. I'm using it to bring WiFi to my WDTV Live. The built in WiFi adapter on the Western Digital device does not support the 5 GHz band (which is essential for a media streaming device). I can get all my Netflix and HD movies from my mediaserver without stuttering.

Purchased this modem/router in a rush and now wish I'd looked at these horrible reviews first. Connection is terrible and the whole setup is awful. DON'T BUY THIS. Do your research and stay away from NETGEAR!

I purchased this when it was on "Today's Deals". The set up was simple and fast. I was able to hook everything up and function in about 15 minutes from sitting down to testing different devices' connections. I had a little trouble with my laptop's internet configuration. I called customer support and was able to resolve my issue. Give it a try for the price!

I think i bought this in May but didnt connect to my computer until July and it didnt work over a couple months. So not happy at all. Didnt know how to contact netgear to discuss with them. I am 70 and electronically challenged. BUT will not buy another product from them.

I don't know if I got a bad one, but I bought this one at best buy, and was literally a last minute thing, and was probably the worst last minute decision in my life. I am a gamer, and this thing will drop the connection and literally is useless. I've been wondering if it's my computer or the usb wireless. After reading alot of the bad reviews on here about this item, it's definitely the usb wireless's fault. because I under the frustration from this wireless adapter, I guess it's time to upgrade. BTW I did a speedtest and my 5 year old laptop gets a better connection than this lol.

I just wanted to give a quick run down of my experience with this refubed router by Netgear.After getting things setup the router was working pretty well. About 30 minutes, however, it power cycled itself. It repeated this every 2 minutes afterwards. I did a little reading up on these modem / routers and apparently they have some major over heating issues which was the reason for the problem I was experiencing. I'd highly recommend you avoid this at all costs, no matter how cheap its being sold for.I've sent mine back for a refund from Amazon.

This device is a good value. I had no problems installing the device on an older desktop running Windows XP. Since installation, it has operated smoothly and has not caused any errors. My home network also includes a laptop running Windows Vista and there have been no compatibility issues.My only concern is the range of the unit is pretty poor. I use this on the ground level of a small 900 square foot wood-frame home. My router is located on the second floor, about 40 feet away (as the crow flies). Reception is never greater than 2 bars, and often drops to one. My phone and laptop both get "excellent" connections from the same location. While this has not led to any problems for me, it may if you live in a larger home or have brick/stone/cement floors or walls, as I doubt this device will power through.

This router is a good value for $40. But you can do much better. I pay for 20mbps internet and only get 15-18mbps. And I use a Motorola Docsis 3 modem, the best one out there, the SB6120. You can do better, but for the cost, it's good value, and that's what I care about. I no longer owe Comcast $7 per month and I will break even in cost in 19 months. As long as you plan on having broadband internet for more than 2 years and don't expect a Wireless O or Docsis 4 to come out in the next 3 years, this is a good investment since it's all pretty advanced at this stage.

The Netgear N-150 Modem/Wireless Router was a waste of money for me. Seemed to work good briefly for the first month or so but now it continually drops bit rates from 54 Mbps where everything works great to a low of 12Mbps and in between. Once it drops below 54Mbps other problems must also be going on since it can take minutes for the browser to change pages even at 48Mbps. I have had it for 6 months and now need to buy another brand just so I can do the basic stuff.

After a week trying to set up this unit with the help of Netgear support, I have received an email from them stating that I should continue using my Westell 327w, because there must be something wrong with the unit, and that it was probably the reason that it had been refurbished in the first place.
