I've had this device for a couple of weeks now and haven't had any issues with it. It took a few more minutes than I thought it should have to set up initially, but I haven't had any problems with it once I figured out how to get it set up. Speed doesn't seem to be an issue and I'm pleased with the range. I don't have any problem using it in the basement with the router is upstairs on the other side of the house.

This is the best modem I have ever had. Once I got my dsl password from Att everything went well. The instructions said the dsl password was the password I got when I first signed on with Att. It wasn't. Att gave me the password and every thing went well. I have two laptops and the one secondary laptop was easy to add.

NETGEAR DGND3300 is easy to setup worked great after 2 weeks. The DSL speed test indicated a big drop from 2802KB to about 675KB. I keep watching it for an other 2 weeks to see if the speed is back to normal. Otherwise, I kiss it goodbye and return it.

I bought this router to replace another one that was failing. Sometimes I would have to refresh a webpage multiple times to get it to load and even then, some of the graphics would not load on the webpage. The router was very easy to set up and to add my laptop and netbook to my wireless network. You just connect the router to your broadband connection. Connect the router to your desktop computer. Install the router software, then start adding computers to your network. So simple.

This POS is incompatible with the Pantech UML290 and Netgear has not intention of updating its firmware any time soon, if at all. In fact this router is compatible with only a very few USB modems. One thing's for sure, I'll never buy anything from Netgear again.

Purchased this in February of 2010. I can say it's easy to set up. Beyond that, I would not classify this as a good buy, even though the specs look good. At times, it would go through `fits' with the Ethernet connected PC's loosing the internet connection. Once in awhile, the Windows connection repair would restore internet access, but most of the time, you have to unplug the unit and restart it to recover the connection. Then, it wouldn't sync with the DSL input. Diagnostic's reported no DSL signal. So, a call to ATT resulted in a tech coming out. The tech hooked up an ATT DSL modem and surprise, DSL sync'd and line was fine - the feature rich Netgear unit's DSL modem died (although the wireless connection to a couple printers continued to work without a problem). In short, a waste of money if you need the DSL modem end of this unit. Oh, and thus far, Netgear customer service is not getting any gold stars either......

The packaging is very confusing for this item. Luckily, I researched it before buying and realized that you either need two of these or a 5Ghz Router. I bought a Netgear WNDR3300 and connected this. I will say that if you already have a great router that does not do 5Ghz, I would have a hard time buying two of these instead of another bridge. This product was extremely easy to connect and has worked flawlessly ever since. All I had to do was push a button on the router and another on the bridge and it did the setup for me. I also have a D-Link dual band wireless bridge that was much harder to setup (extremely hard) and seems to be tempermental in keeping a connection and also has poorer range. In contrast to the D-Link, I am shocked at how well this one works and how easy it was to setup. I wish it had more ethernet ports, but two is probably enough for most people/uses. Also, I have this going through two walls and about 75 feet away, so I can't say much for the range except that it also seems better than D-Link. Great product. I may replace my D-Link with another one of these.

After using this product since February, I can honestly say that I made a HUGE mistake in this purchase! My last Netgear router (WGR614) was not performing badly, but I wanted to enhance the range and also the networked speed -- hence my move to the WNR3500 "RangeMax" N router.Initially, I felt that this router worked well, and was reliable. However, as of the last couple of months, I am noticing more and more intermittent signals - both wired and wireless! I called technical support, and after attempting to describe my problem to the representative on the other line (and understand what she was trying to tell me), I was simply told that since the wired signal was working, that it was a software issue!!!I questioned the validity of this, reiterating that the wireless signal was dropping and questioning exactly HOW that could be software related, and not a hardware issue... naturally, I got nowhere. The representative then told me once again that since it was "software" related, I could PAY for support (mind you, this product is less than 1 year old!). Judging from the trouble I had understanding her in the first place, I chose not to go that route, and rather search for solutions on the Netgear site and elsewhere on the web. I have since upgraded the firmware, and changed the "channels" as well as the mode, but neither has resolved the problem. I feel that the router will sadly become another lifetime contribution to the local dump very soon. After reading reviews here, I can see that mine was not an isolated incident, and felt the need to share my situation (and lack of assistance from Netgear) to try to help others in not making the same mistake I made. Good luck to any who purchase this router... both with the quality as well as the customer support that are both leaving a lot to be desired.

Super simple setup, product works as described, good range and connection. Gave it 4 stars because it would be nice if you could choose between 2.4ghz OR 5ghz. Also, I can see why some people who bought this were frustrated after they realized they would need to buy 2 of these to operate as a bridge. Yes, it shows that you need to buy two in the picture - however you have to enlarge it to even see that. I think it should have been clearly STATED - common sense business, and I'm sure they lost a lot of potential loyal customers due to that. Thankfully, I already had a 5GHZ capable Netgear router, so I was able to use it as a Bridge with just one of these.

This router can more than pay for itself in a hurry. My main internet connection is in the study, but with more and more home theater products building in the capability for internet access it makes sense to have a networking hub in the den. I didn't want to wire my house, so instead I bought this router and used DD-WRT to set it up as a repeater bridge. The best part is that even though my 2-wire router from AT&T (I have u-verse) does not "play nice" with repeaters, DD-WRT can do it anyway. So, now I have this router set up in the den and it serves to provide wired internet access to my xbox360, samsung blu-ray, and in the future, who knows what.Setup was not entirely simple, as I had to play around with the DD-WRT options to get it to work with the 2-wire, but it wasn't bad.I balked a bit about paying $90 for this, but after avoiding buying a wi-fi adapter for the xbox ($80) and paying up for a blu-ray with built-in wifi ($50+), it has already paid for itself. Plus, now I have much better wi-fi coverage for my house and backyard.Great product.

This is the second Netgear router to fizz out on me. I understand that these devices are made as cheaply as possible, but this is a premium model. I needed to power cycle the router every two weeks or so and finally it stopped working. It won't even power on at this point. Funny thing this happened to me with my last Netgear. That lasted two years, but at this rate these have a short average life. This coupled with no noticible advance in the usability of the configuration screens leads me to believe that Netgear is not innovating much beyond making them cheeper.

If zero stars was permitted, that's what it would get. Oh sure... it sets up easily, but then it doesn't work. The wireless connection drops out for no reason, but this is nothing compared to its super-slow throughput. Cheaper routers give me 14-15Mb/s download on my cable internet. This router barely hits 2.5Mb/s, which I confirmed on SpeedTest, and it stayed the same, whether running wired or wireless. Bad router!

I purchased the pair of WNHDE111 5Ghz AP/Bridges to connect 2 x DIRECTV HD DVRs and an XBOX 360 to my broadband connection utilizing the very under used 5Ghz band. One bridge connects one DVR and the other connects the other DVR and the XBOX. Both bridges access my NETGEAR Dual Band Router. The setup was extremely simple using the push button approach. Plug the bridge in, press the front button for 10sec, then press the button on my router, and within 2 minutes the devices were talking and passing data. The second bridge was just a simple.I live in a large house with steel framing, which will affect ANY radio signal. The bridge closest to the router gets 85% signal strangth (1 Wall, same level), the bridge furthest away gets 24% signal strength (3 walls, one level up) The bridge with low signal strength still enabled me to download a full feature movie to my DVR in about 12-15 minutes whilst a fierce XBOX live battle was being waged through the other bridge without any lag or dropouts. This setup has now allowed the 2.4Ghz band to be used by only the household PC's without any hindrance caused by massive data transfers. I can even watch downloaded HD content on one DVR via another DVR across the network.Buying a pair of devices is value for money, additionally each bridge comes with 2 Ethernet ports where as the competitor equipment only comes with 1.I fully recommend these devices.

This is a great consumer level wireless router. Its fast and easy to install and use. The best thing I like about this is that compared to Linksys's LELA software which seems like a unnecessary and bloated piece of software. In fact, the face of LELA reminds you of that computer program lady in the movie I,Robot.Back to the router, it is a really great piece of hardware. One downside is that this model doesn't have a USB port at the back for me to attach my external hard drive to share across my network. Perhaps a newer model or higher priced model has this but, I will probably be looking to upgrade to something like that in 3-5 years or less. This is the 2nd Netgear router that someone in my family has bought and I would definitely recommend their products, including this one!

I got this router as part of my subscription to Comcast. If I had a simple setup, it would be fine, but I have a home network with 2 computers, a printer, a PS3, a wireless extender and laptops that stretch from one end of the house to the other. When I hooked this router up to my network, the computers would randomly drop on and off of the internet. After endless internet searches and phone calls I finally found a tech at Comcast who told me that this router is not compatible with other routers/extenders. In other words, you can't expand your network to a far end of the house with a switch or extender. Once I disconnected my extender, it worked fine. Problem is, half the house is now in a dead zone. I will probably end up getting the WNR3500 which is compatible with multiple routers/extenders.

I owned a Netgear router previous to this one and didn't have one problem with it. I would have recommended the product to anyone. I bought this one and found it to take a very long time for my Netgear N cards to connect. The cards themselves were really stupidly designed. The first was a USB card that you had to remove and re-plug every time you restarted the computer. I didn't want to deal with that so I returned it. Then I bought a PCI N card. It had to be removed from the board prior to upgrading the drivers. So every time there was a driver upgrade you had to take your computer apart. The router began to slow down and take even longer to connect to. I went to a computer retail store and they told me that it had to be defective and that I should return it to Netgear. I contacted Netgear service via phone and they had me reconfigure the router and upgrade the firmware...this happened several times...I mean a lot. Every time the router would act better and then it would start malfunctioning again. Finally after numerous times of going through this I put my foot down and requested a replacement. They told me to go back to where I bought it and get the replacement there (these guys where in India). I had owned the unit 8 months. The people I bought it from said no-way that they could replace it after 8 months. So I called Netgear back and this time I got a rep in Puerto Rico. He was very nice and said he would get the replacement for me. I packed everything up in my original box and sent it back. When the replacement arrived it was in a brown box, obviously not new and it did the same thing (it could be the same router). They didn't send the power supply, no software, no manual, nothing but the used router (I used my old power supply from my first router). So I contacted the return center and this very abrupt lady acted like I was a criminal. I had to call their offices in California to get a new power supply. By mistake they sent me two. Both were obviously not new. They didn't even have the cords wrapped. They were just thrown into a brown box, with no plastic bag. So they sent me a used broken router and two used power supplies (I'm sure they are broken too). I actually had a few conversations with the lady at the return center and countless communications to India...there were so many contacts, it's hard to keep track. They forgot to send the base to the router. I called up the return center and the same lady again acted like I was trying to steal something, haven't seen it yet. I bought a D-Link router in the meantime, it's much better. The Netgear router and adapters are junk to me, and they won't make it right with a new operational router. I will never buy Netgear again.

Waste of time and money. I purchased one of these to use to connect my Blue-Ray player and DVR via a Netgear Rangemax 3700 router to the internet. While attempting to watch videos on the Blue-Ray player via Netflix streaming the connection would drop constantly, bringing the video stream to a screeching halt. Even when it worked, the speed was dreadful. After tweaking all of the appropriate settings on the router and the this access point there was no improvement.I purchased this to replace a Cisco/Linksys internet bridge that worked fine, but would lose its connection overnight and constantly require a reset. This was hardly an improvement. I've abandoned all attempts to connect these devices via wireless and opted instead for for a Cisco Powerlink AV kit that uses my house's electrical wiring for wired connections to the router. So far, works flawlessly.

It's great to have a router out there that recognizes that customers just want the freaking thing to work, and don't care who wrote or maintains the firmware. With that in mind, I bought this router to replace another Wireless-N router that was simply a nightmare, with glitchy firmware from two years ago, and will now find a new home or function via Craigslist or something.I was up and running using the stock firmware in about 5 minutes, accessing the router configuration page and setting up a secure wireless network. I didn't try any of the quick-install software - usually like to just set the thing up myself without putting any software on my machine, and for this it worked perfectly.More importantly, this router is open-source-firmware ready, so if for any reason the stock firmware fails me, I'll have an option out there to try, as opposed to the endless struggles of my prior router. My setup includes a wired WHS, a Snow Leopard wireless-N macbook, a wireless PC using a 'G' card (Win7), another wireless laptop also using G, a Wii, an XBox using a wired connection, and another wired media-center PC, running Win7, and an iPhone 2G. Powers everything without flaw.

I had the opportunity to set up this router for my parents and my in-laws, and while the speed increase over my Linksys WRT54G router is appreciated, and the range seems good from the second floor despite having this router in the basement, it is not without some drawbacks. First, the instructions are nearly useless - don't bother with them. They will state that you should powercycle your cable modem, wait two minutes, then turn on the router, then the computer. In my experience, the router had a hard time obtaining an IP address from the cable modem if you wait that long - best to powercycle them essentially simultaneously. Second, the setup disk didn't work with my in-laws' Win 7 setup at all. It's best to just log into the router web page itself and set it up manually. Third, the automatic firmware updating didn't work on either setup. You have to first refresh your IP address from the cable modem before updating firmware, since in neither install did the router automatically attain a working IP from the modem, and therefore it never updated the firmware on login.Once you get past the somewhat irritating setup, the router works well. Setting up wireless security was simple (they recommend using WPA2-AEP, which works nicely), though when I tried to set it up with the same SSID and security as the previous router, Windows laptops didn't seem to recognize it. Better start from scratch with a new SSID. Once running, the speed was fast and, thus far, stable. Netgear really needs to make the setup a lot better with these routers.

The built-in switch is seriously unstable -- ports without cables plugged-in will show link activity, ports with cables will randomly switch between 10 and 100MB/s link speeds (the front panel shows the link speed), some ports will drop their connections while others remain connected. This behavior occurs with different devices connected (and, with *no* devices connected -- I've never seen a switch that shows port activity with no cables plugged-in!).(Additionally, the box seems to drop the DSL connection multiple times per day, but that *could* be a poor DSL line.)The modem may suffer from heat-related problems -- picking up the box when it's misbehaving, it's always very hot to the touch.Update...the loss of switch ports is something that *many* people are experiencing. And, to add to the joy, the wireless side of the box has started flipping out -- dropping connections to some clients while leaving others with little bandwidth. Seems Netgear's design was seriously deficient in the cooling department.

I purchased this router to add wifi to a 5 unit CBS guesthouse.I assumed at the cost of $160 that I would be getting better signal strength than my $40 Westell router!I got a significantly weaker signal. As a router this unit would be ok at about a $40 pricetag.I found nothing about it to justify a cost 4 times that.I have returned it and gone to a much less expensive router with greater signal strength.

I'm going to start of by saying that if your are a mac user this is a pretty good router. I'm in a home where the majority of the operating systems are Pc's and i'm the only mac (lol) so I went through at least three routers prior to this one, due to the fact i had trouble connecting with my macbook. first router was a dynex and that was a bestbuy brand had it for a year, and the thing went out, so i had to get a new one, 2nd was belkin, not only could i not connect at all, but my parents connection via their cable box connected to the router was interfering and slowing things down. I would call tech support and get little to no help with the issue. So i had to scrap that, second was lnkys it worked, didn't slow things with the main computer with the cable box, but my end connection was sooo slow, it was like being on dial up, so i had to scrap that too. i bought this one based on a review that was posted by a mac user who said his computer would not connect with the lnkys, and that this was better, and i will have to agree. So this goes to say, reading reviews helps. I would also recommend browsing through the reviews to see if people have specific problems to your own, and thats what i did, even though the lnkys had high ratings it didn't work for me, and had not been nosy and read some more reviews i would not have found out about this one. Oh for the record i bought mine at retailer, bestbuy to be exact, and I've always know then from the beginning that they are really lame when it comes to helping people with issues with products, cause that lnkys was a store sales recommendation, should have known better but hey we all make mistakes

It seem as though I am having a similar experience to others with the DNG2000. All went well to start with, the set up was easy and for 13 months it has worked flawlessly, Then port #1 died I changed to #2 after a week that died now port #3 will only connect at 10 mbps so I am shopping for a new DSL modem router.Another issue (though not the fault of the DGN2000) one time when I called AT&T because of a poor quality phone line, they said they couldn't help me because Netgear was not an approved modem

I've tested this as an option to upgrading my existing wireless G network by simply adding N to it. I thought this was a great candidate for the job and got the matched set. Since my network uses MAC filtering, a non-broadcasted SSID and encryption I opted for the manual install. The good:- The pair comes configured with switches set to Access Point and Bridge- Plug them into your existing network on a CAT5 cable and they pick up an IP address in the same subnet, so no switching IPs on the network to get to them for initial configuration- The CD based tool can find them even if you do get them on a different netmask- The web interface works wellThe bad:- An initial firmware upgrade was needed, the Access point could reach the internet, but the Bridge could not, I had to download the firmware file then load it from disk for the Bridge- The setup was done in about 15 minutes, then it worked great for about 30minutes. Then after 30 minutes the pair reverted to their factory default settings, on their own.- I tried to reconfigure, but the Bridge side was completely unresponsive, not even being able to get wired connection to the networkThis may have been a defective pair, but it left a bad taste in my mouth, seems that there was no quality control check before this was boxed up and sent out for retail.I wanted to give it 1 star, but the price, interface and tools were good, so I gave it an extra star. This is just my experience with this product. I am now looking at the Trendnet Options which are much cheaper, search my reviews for those, I'll post them when those tests are done.

The WN111v2 works pretty well and gave me download speeds up to 1MB per second. However, the software that you use to connect the adapter is terrible! My Vista PC has never crashed on me in the two years i've had it until I put the WN11v2 installation disc in it. After my PC crashed three times, the software finally installed. Leaving me in a weird taskbar limbo funk. What I mean by this is when I started the program, it would get stuck in the taskbar and would not pop up. Fantastic!Once I finally got this program running I connected to the internet and everything worked. I was very surprised. But the fun didn't last. I noticed that the program would not save my settings and everytime I turned off my computer I would have to re-enter my wireless WEP key each time I turned my PC back on. So I contacted support and they said word for word exactly what was written in the instruction book. "Enter your info and click save, then you're done". Nope. wrong. It doesn't work. Uhh now what? I don't know.I'll be returning this junk tomorrow so I find a quality wireless adapter. Unless you're looking to waste a lot of time, I'd highly suggest skipping this product.

I sent back the unit couple days after receiving it and expected a refund. The problem was that the unit did not work due to limited operation range. Furthermore, I have not received my refund.

No software and seup is not simple. Finally gave up and went back to my old B router. Would not recommend this to anyone and Circut City's return requires defective code from manufacturer before exchange. No refund policy I could find. Definately not recommended!
