Purchased this camera in November (2008) and so far it has been a great camera. Battery lastes long. It is easy to operate. The software is the best...even better than the Canon software from my wife's camera. I wanted to support an American company (with the economic conditions) so I bought a Kodak and have been very pleased. I recently took it to a reunion and was so surprised at how clear the pictures came out. you could read the name badges on the people being photographed.

I've bought a Kodak M883 it's a 8 mega pixels camera. the Picture I've taken all came our blur my Nokia camera Phone picture which is only 1.3 mega Pixels came out much better than Kodak M883.

I read many camera reviews, tried a few other cameras out, bought a couple of the cheaper models to learn and play with, then when he opportunity was right, I bought this camera during a the holiday price plunge and have been more satisfied than I could have imagined. The camera is a bit smaller than it appears in ads, but it is very solidly built and has the perfect balance between auto features for me and grandma who just want to take a few decent pictures of the kids and the flowers out back, as well as numerous more complex features and manual override, allowing the owner complete control over the photo shot he/she is taking. In fact, there are many features on this little gem that otherwise only appear on other brands at hundreds of dollars more. My pictures that I take to work can stand with the D40s and D50s of the highly touted brand folks are spending in the thousands for... cameras they barely know how to focus. At any rate the focus on his baby is incredible, and with image stabilization, you can take pictures you never thought possible before at close to 50X magnification!!!! I have taken action shots in decent light with some minimal experimentation and achieved good results. I have enjoyed learning photography with the usability of the camera. The colors are fantastic. At around $210.00 there is no way you can go wrong here. Invest in a rechargeable Kodak battery and charger or camera dock/printer for the best battery life, but I have been amazed at the life I got out of the Lico3 battery in the box. If you don't like this camera, there is a problem with how you are using it! It is well worth every cent!

I have owned this product for 4 months now and these are my thoughts so far:
This is a remarkable camera for the weekend photographer, hobbyist, family user, or student.
There is a wide variety of preset point and shoot modes so anyone can operate it without direction and there is a a multitude of manual settings to extract the most performance and artistic qualities from a photo as you can.
The HD video is stunning compared to non-HD digital camera shots. Especially as used from a picture first, video second point of view. HD Dock is needed (see my review on that product).
As a hobbyist this camera fulfills the need now and the ability to learn more later to progress to DSLR quality. I bought this camera to take action shots of running primary and landscapes/macro secondly, family and friends third. It has surpassed expectations. I will upload photos of the better shots I have taken.
This camera is tough withstanding all of the abuse I have put it through, sand on the beach, rain, bangs, extreme temps hot/cold.
Recomendations: get Kodak KLIC-8000 batteries and HD Dock (view my other reviews) In comparison to SONY or Fujifilm this camera has more features I am likely to use such as 12x zoom, text mode, GREAT panoramic shot mode HD video, manual mode, the ability to purchase accessories and easy of use. Great product!

This is by far the best camera I've owned, and I've owned a few. I read the cons in other reviews, but at the end of the day I wanted great vacation pictures that I could take without a lot of hassle. This is definitely a point-and-shoot and yet can also be tailored for other special shots.

Most of my pictures come out blurry with this camera and I'm returning it today. It may very well be something I'm doing wrong but I've gone through the troubleshooting and still can't get a clear shot. I need something more user friendly I suppose.

I bought this camera as a replacement to our Canon that we recently lost. Before the Canon, I had always been a fan of Kodak's, so I decided to go back to Kodak when I needed another camera. I used this camera for a vacation, and although it takes great pictures, it has some BIG ISSUES.
The camera seems to freeze every once in a while and won't turn off and the lens won't retract. I have to take the battery out to fix it. Not great if you need the camera in a hurry. The biggest blunder though is that if you use the "Smart Capture" (which produces great pictures, I'll admit) the battery will last for about three seconds. Not good if you want to use the camera for a day trip. Kodak needs to rememdy these problems before I'll buy another camera like this. Such a disappointment!

My daughter received this camera for her birthday in July. We had to return it in September for repair, again in November for repair and now two months later it is broken again. Amazon won't refund or replace and I get nothing but run around. Terrible product and terrible customer service.

I don't know about the other person who gave review on a PINK Kodak like this one.My sister got my this as early Christmas gift and it's RED.RED means lucky and money so I didn't mind the color.The performance AAA++++ really happy.Very Crystal Clear and I am super happy and satisfied.I rate it as 10 and 2 thumbs up and 2 big toes UP!that's happy I am.I'm not sure if color matters bec.the other person who made comment on the pink kodak tells the opposite.sorry to hear that.:(

I have owned akodak camera for 13 months, I have gotten about 3 months use out of it. Kodak is notorious for freezing up. I sent it in twice and it comes back the same way. Now 1 month passed warranty the Kodak supervisor say's it's not his problem and they will not stand behind their products. It doesn't matter that it is the same ongoing problem because it is 1 month passed the warranty date. I would suggest you purchase a sony they rate much higher and the customer service is much better. These cameras work great for about 1 month then you can pitch it in the garbage. Good luck if you buy it.

I bought this camera thinking it would be a good product because it was Kodak. WOW was I wrong. The photos are totally out of focus and the videos were pretty sucky. I even thought it may have been a lemon, so I exchanged it. With no luck, same crappy images. Don't waste your money on this camera it sucks.

We have been pleased with this camera so far, no problems and it seems to do everything we need it too. Definitly not a professional camera but it more than meets our needs.

It is a little slow on start up and takes its time between pictures but the features and ease of use make up for this. we especially like the video feature and how easy it is to switch between video and picture.

The camera came on time and it was easy to set up. The picture quality is very good and it even adjusts to when you take a vertical photo. All of the different photo settings are a nice feature. The only problem is sometimes it won't stay turned on.

We have owned this camera for a year, and it has become an absolute battery eater. Batteries last for about 5 pictures before the camera shuts down. A trip to the repair shop under warranty did nothing to solve this problem. We have tried rechargeables with the same results. Do not buy this camera.

I have had this camera for about 2 months now and I am still LOVING this camera. it has 10.3 megapixels (really shoots at 10mp) and an amazing deal for that. takes great quality pictures every time. i've only had a blurry picture when it was completely my fault (i accidently moved my arm before it was shot, etc etc) the zoom is nice as well. A nice feature is the panorama shots which stiches pictures taken together! I would definitly recommend this to everyone looking for a new camera.

This camera works really well. I have not had any issues with is since purchasing it a few months ago. Its compact and the battery lasts a long time. You can charge it with a USB to AC adapter using the camera cord, which is nice. The lense can take some pressure on it as that tends to happen, no issues with scratching. All around good camera for the price.

After going through two digital cameras [buying them and returning them for various reasons] I finally found one that fits me. It's red, has 10 megapixels, and it takes very good pictures! I bought the bundle for a good deal and I am still playing around with it. Overall, this Kodak is awesome and I think it's worth investing your money in!!

I purchased a Kodak EasyShare camera, M1033 10MP red digital camera through Amazon. Upon receipt of the camera, I followed Kodak's directions and first downloaded the included software into my computer. This caused my computer to crash and cost me $190 for the services of a computer technician to get my computer back up and running. The technician stated that the Kodak software frequently adversely affects the operation of computers because it, simply, is inferior. Ironically, I am very pleased with the performance of the camera itself but the software has convinced me that I will buy no more Kodak products.

This is a nice camera that I would have enjoyed except that it's not compatible with the Picasa software that I've been using for a few years. I don't want to have my photos on two separate editing/email sites.
So nice camera, but doesn't play well with others.

This is my second kodak camera and it is the best camera i have ever owned it's fast easy to set up and takes beautiful pictures. I'm military and deployed at the moment and Amazon was still able to ship my things in two weeks that's just amazing. i would recommend this camera to anyone that just wants to take good pictures fast and easy.

This is a piece of crap camera. The buttons are tiny. The battery door is flimsy. The pics aren't anything special and least but not last, the, battery life is so short, i have to keep charging it everyday, even when i dont use it!!!!Kodak sucks.

I bought this camera and returned it the next day. My dad had bought a Casio Exilim z80 so i tested both side by side. First, the casio is smaller and lighter than the kodak which makes it feel better in your hands. As for picture quality, they both were fairly similar, however I would have to say the casio was a tad bit better. When the pictures were enlarged, the casio's images were less pixalated looking. The kodak's video recording was what really shocked me. I took the same video with both cameras. The casio's video was amazingly clear. The kodak on the other hand was horribly grainy looking. I also had a ceiling fan running during both videos. in the kodak video you could hear loud air blowing sounds but the casio didnt have that. another cool thing about the casio is that you can take a picture while recording a video. Both cost about the same and are both 8 MP. in my opinion, check out the casio exilim z80 before the kodak m863. hope this helps :)

If anyone has bought this camera and can help me, I'll be grateful. I purchased it because the other reviews said it was easy to use. But the instruction booklet is so poor I'm at a loss. I couldn't even set the date because the screen instructions were so unclear. I have figured out how to take a photo, review it and delete. But I have many questions. For instance, after I review and delete photo, the camera does not go back to operational mode. Rather I have to turn it off and on again. Also, when it works on flash and I am done using it, am I supposed to press down the pop-up battery light? And is there anything on the screen that tells me how much of the optical zoom I'm using, or should I just assume that the close-up function will stop when I reach maximum? The instruction booklet doesn't explain what all the symbols are that I seen on the LCD screen. The camera makes a noise when running. I'm not even sure when I've taken a photograph because it doesn't really click. How do I use image stabilization -- or does it just go into action when the camera shakes? I'm afraid to try the video function because I have no way of knowing how much of a 2GB card I'd be using up with video. Is there any way to know? Kodak's website merely repeats the meager information in the instruction booklet. I won't be using it with Easyshare because that was never my intention. I haven't yet tried to download the images using a card reader. I bought it because it has the best optical viewer for simple digital cameras. This would probably be a good camera if I could figure out how to use it.

its ok nice colors but not great. the M-1033 is much better quality then this camera. i have owned both i preffer the 1033 also the videos are great from the 1033
the videos here are really bad. do not recommend.

As an art/design instructor in a high school, I needed to find a camera which was durable enough for multiple users, had solid optical, had features which were easy to understand, and was at a reasonable price to be able to afford to buy multiple cameras. After reading many reviews, I purchased the Kodak Z1812IS.

After six months of the students using these, I am still impressed by the quality of both photo and video for the camera. Also, I particularly appreciate the aperture and shutter priority settings, which still give the user the ability to have some control over settings vs. a point and shoot. Also, the optical properties of the lens are of good quality. I was impressed for the price and would not hesitate to recommend this camera.

If you are looking for a thin small camera like this, this is the one to buy! If your pix are dark, retake them with the ISO setting. You can take pix in b&w, sepia also.

I bought this as a back up to my bulky full size digital camera. It is great for vacation and you can easily slip it into a pocket. No need to worry about a neck strap or large bag to carry it. The picture quality is about what I expected and occasionally exceeds my expectations. As with most small cameras low light situations are basically out of the question. The flash will compensate for short range images, but don't expect to catch any movement from a distance at night or a poorly lit room. It does great outdoors though. The panoramic stitching impressed me by seamlessly bringing together 3 pictures. The optical zoom isn't that great (I'm so used to the 12x on my other camera) but for general snapshots it should be just fine, and with 10mp you have plenty of room to crop and zoom after the fact. Also, the big 720p video selling point is, in fact, 720p but again don't expect to use it in anything less than perfect lighting conditions. The regular 640x480 does a great job though.
Overall a great buy with a reasonable price, if only for its tiny size.

I bought this camera because the reviews written were pretty good. My last camera was four hundred dollars so to see a camera with such good reviews that was half the price I thought I'd check it out. I was very disappointed. The fist thing I noticed was that the camera felt and looked very cheap. The photo quality was grainy and a little blurry. I tried changing the settings and it only made it worse. The camera software was like a bad computer program; It would freeze occasionally and pause saying "Processing" and "magnifying". I sent it back, and Marcus Audio and video were very understanding and let me return the camera with no problems. I did a lot more research and bought the Cannon powershot S5 IS. I used to own the S3, until I left it in the rain. They are both great quality cameras with great photos- that's what's most important!. If you want the best quality digital camera that is not an SLR, with the best features buy either a Cannon powershot S3 or S5. Canon PowerShot Pro Series S3 IS 6MP with 12x Image Stabilized ZoomCanon PowerShot Pro Series S5 IS 8.0MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized ZoomThey are absolutely worth the money. Once you have a great camera, you just aren't satisfied with 2nd rate quality!

Camera is small enough to easily fit into most any pocket. A big plus when on vacation riding roller coasters. This little camera took a lickin and kept on tickin. Battery life was excellent. Took pictures all day and recharged at night to be ready for the next day. It took beautiful pictures and the videos were also surprisingly good.
I have two small negatives. First, it would be nice to have an eye piece to look through especially in bright sun because the screen washes out. Second, in anti-shake mode the pictures seem a bit grainy to me. Not that much of an issue unless you do a lot of zooming when you shoot.
A very nice little camera for the money. The saying "any picture is better than no picture" is so true and this little camera makes it easy to get those pictures that might otherwise be missed.

I have had this camera (z812is) for about 6 months and there are two things I can say about it the first one is this camera goes through a lot of batteries quick including rechargeables, and high end digital batteries. I am at a point that I am thinking of buying another camera as keeping up with the cost of batteries is vey high. The second item is I have tried a number of times to contact Kodak and every time I have been dicconnected. I would not recommend this camera at all.

I am not one to usually write reviews on products, BUT becuase I am so incredibly disappointed with this particular product, I feel its my duty to warn other unsuspecting shoppers out there!
This camera takes absolutely lovely pictures - as long as they are outside. Any pictures taken indoors are of such poor quality that my camera on my cell phone takes better!! I have tried all the differnt settings and features that the phone offers to see if I can get a better picture and its just not possible on this camera. After only 9 days and over 250 pictures later, I am taking it back today!

I've had this camera for almost a year. Not only has it broken twice (the automatic shutter does not open and close fully) but it takes terrible pictures. It's so rare that I get a decent photo, I have gone back to using my old-school clunky Sony with a 16mb memory card. I'm tossing this Kodak and replacing it with another Sony.

This camera has a very annoying feature of not taking the photo as soon as the shutter is pressed. There is a slight lag that, unless you are taking pictures of still life or scenery, is really annoying. I have young children so they were often heading out of the frame by the time the photo was taken. To me this is a deal breaker!

Also the camera comes packaged with very minimal guide book. If you want detailed info on this camera to really try out its features you have to download it from the Kodak website - inconvenient and irritating. Kodak is trying to same a few dollars at the expense of their customers.

I noticed too that the camera would often make a "purring" type noise. On the positive side it did take nice macro photos.

I ended up instead purchasing the Canon PowerShot SX100IS 8MP which is a fabulous camera and a much better choice. The optical zoom on this camera is slightly less than the Kodak- 10 instead of 12 - but is a much better camera for a similar price. It is very user friendly and intuitive and takes beautiful photos.

I have owned this camera for a short time and took it out for a day of wildlife photos recently. It has nice features and functionality for the price but a few deficiencies were apparent right away.

1. LCD is dim when taking pictures in sunlit to overcast lighting. Had difficulty seeing what I was taking pictures of.

2. The zoom in/out buttons are awkwardly placed so that when you use the eyepiece, your fingers get in the way. If the LCD was brighter you wouldn't have to use the eyepiece.

3. Time delay between depressing the shutter button and data transfer. It seems that after some tweaking like scaling down the image stabilization and autofocus options has reduced this delay. Actually seems acceptable now.

Other than those deficiencies, I am currently satisfied with it.
