I purchased this camera for a recent cruise. This is my second Kodak Digital. It takes clear pictures with great detail. The color is great. I am not the best picture taker and mine came out great. It showed the true color of the beautiful agua blue water of the carribean and the bright island colors. The only down side I found was it does not have a view finder and if you are in the direct sun it is hard to see the picture you are taking, but not a major porblem. I also purchased a 4GB card with it. I had a 2GB. I filled them both!!!

I bought this camera mainly for its HD recording. While the resolution is nice, the HD recording "blinks" with a flash of bright light every 5 seconds or so. This is unacceptable for a finished product. Kodak should not release beta-test quality hardware to the market.

Prior to purchasing this unit, I did a fairly exhaustive internet search of user-reviews of entry-level digital cameras. Since this is my first digital camera, the most important factors for me were ease-of-use and overall user-friendliness. On both those counts, I can say the unit performs remarkably well. My wife, who is very much a non-techie, has had no trouble using the camera for taking pictures of her eBay merchandise. Clarity and resolution are very good. And the camera interfaces fairly seamlessly with the included Kodak software and Kodak Gallery. Battery life also seems remarkably good. It would have been nice, though, if Kodak had included even a simple cloth carrying case. The only reason I didn't give the camera five stars was because of the difficulty viewing subject matter outdoors with the LCD viewfinder, especially in bright sunlight. The glare makes it almost impossible to see your subject. In fairness, though, this seems to be a problem with LCD viewfinders in general, not just Kodak's. But overall, it's a great little camera.

Fantastic camera, i bought for my wife b/c I thought it would be easy to use based on reviews... and... I was right! What a hit! We just had a brand new addition to our family and wife wants to take lots of pics.. this camera is so easy to use, you just turn it on & you're on your way!
It takes excellent pics right out of the box and no need to tweak anything!

Also she likes the sleep look of the camera and that it's compact.

Also takes pretty good HD video, but not good enough to tape like more than just a few minutes..

You just can't go wrong with this if you are looking for a great easy-to-use camera for a great price!

I can't recommend this digital camera. I purchased it in late 2008 and have used it a few times. I've been careful to keep the battery charged. It recently began to malfunction and cannot be repaired. The camera turns on for a second, but then immediately powers off again. Switching to a new battery does not help; nor does removing the memory card or attempting to operate the camera on AC power. In short, the camera is useless. I searched online to find troubleshooting information and found dozens of people having the same problem with this camera. It's too bad, because it took good photos.

I purchased the Z812IS to upgraded from my 1974 Minolta SRT201 35mm SLR camera (stop the laughing). I got tired of waiting to see if my pictures were any good after developing. I've only used it a handful of times, mainly for photographing race cars. I like the very short shutter delay. (I think it's 0.23 sec.)The camera also takes exceptional pictures at a distance. For cars in motion, it's easy to pan along with them to get that speed effect, using a shutter speed of less than 1/320,and the screen & view finder do not go blank when taking pictures at a slower shutter speed.
I also used it to photograph close ups of morning glorys. The detail is outstanding.
For the batteries, I purchased 2 KODAK(KLIC-8000)Li-Ion rechargeables.
I also purchased a KODAK High Performance 2GB memory card. I don't know the performane of this(or why I bought it), but the 2GB memory card that came with the camera is sufficient,holding over 700 photos. The most I've put on it at 1 shooting was 195.
The Image Stabilization is great. I think someone with Parkinsons Disease could easily take perfect pictures.
'Nuf said. As of this date, I highly recommend this camera.

I had already bought a camera like this one (exact same camera) for myself.. and i bought this one for my sister.. is a greeeat point-and-shoot camera it has some functions (that i dont really use LOL).. the quality of the pictures is awsome. Sometimes its a little slow but that's because of the memory stick i bought (dont be cheap.. buy a high speed one).. Ive droped the camera a couple of times and its still working as new.
I would strongly recomend it!... great camera for just a few bucks ;)

Purchased this camera from Kodak with a printer. Printer gave out after 6 months and now after 13 months the camera has given out. The lense won't come out. I downloaded the firmware to update per Kodak and it still didn't fix the problem. Kodak tech support has people who are very difficult to understand. Why do companies send their support overseas. The cost to repair is 110.95 including shipping plus tax. Or if I wanted to purchase another kodak they would give me a trade-in value of 15% off the new purchase price. As you see I am not very happy about this. I take very good care of my products. I will be purchasing another camera and you can bet it won't be a Kodak. Probably be a Sony as my last Sony lasted 14 years. Went with Kodak because of the cost of the ink. What a mistake that was.

The 4 stars are relative. Obviously there are better cameras available, but the price is right for the features this camera has. The lack of protruding buttons (other than the zoom) makes the design ideal for pocket or bag. I also like the under-designed body. That's a big change for Kodak towards better products.

The image quality is quite good - especially if your main photography goal is convenience. Low light performance is also good thanks to a larger chip than most compact cameras have (7.40 x 5.55 mm instead of the typical 5.75 x 4.31 mm). This lowers the pixel density allowing for greater light capture where many other cameras run the needless megapixel race resulting in grainy photos.

The 720p video is perhaps the main reason to choose the V1073. So far I've had good results with the possible exception of the metering going between warm and cool hue shifts when shooting indoors. There is also the purple vertical line problem in small, extremely bright areas that practically all HD compact cameras have.

The battery door problems that others have mentioned has not happened to mine, but I never open it instead using the cable to transfer files and charge.

I purchased mine and it stopped working five months later. I sent it in for repair since it was still under warranty. The camera was repaired ( a new main flex circuit and cpu), but I also received a note saying the battery (which is sold with the camera in the same box) was defective.

I have had many digital cameras and this is my latest as I bought it for my daughter. I am so impressed, all of my other cameras are Cannons for a price of around $280 each. The Kodak blows them away... seriously, bigger screen, resolution, color etc.

I'm not a dealer but just a consumer who takes maybe a 1,000 photos a year for both work and home... You will not be sorry if you make this purchase.

This camera had terrible picture quality. If this is 10 MP then I hate to see what a lesser Kodak camera does! Every picture we took came out blurry and was very disappointing. I ended up going back to an Olympus camera that costed a little more but has 12 MP and takes great pictures... I had an Olympus before and that is what I was replacing it with was this Kodak, however Kodak doesn't have the quality it used to... they have third party vendors making products with Kodak name and I think this must be one of them.

Buy Olympus, more camera for a few bucks more but better quality photos and less problems.

Pretty good camera. For the money, I think it is the best bang for the buck. we will see about the quality over time, but pretty happy so far.
Takes good pictures, especially in full sun situations.
Interface is very easy to use. controls are good.
Pictures come up quick on play mode.
3" screen is great!
Zoom is OK.

it has so many functions and very convenient to use. the photo quality is good at good light condition. Don't compare it with over $800 SLR digital cameras :)

it has HD video record function. however, the video quality can not match real digital HD camcorder performance. again, don't compare it with over $800 HD camcorders :)

the lithium battery is great. the very bright and large display is great. the joystick of the menu is great.

if somebody likes touch screen, V1073 may be a good choice. i don't like touch screen very much.

I really like this little camera. It has great on-screen descriptions of the views. You really have to buy a SD chip though because the camera does not have much memory of its own. Pictures are great. This is my second easy share camera, so I knew it would be as good or better than my older one. I am not disappointed.

THE BUTTON ARE TOO SMALL!!!! Otherwise, it takes pretty good pictures. It's a great size for traveling. But, seriously, the buttons are way way too small. You have to be a pixie to push these buttons.

I am so disappointed : ( I bought this camera to take pictures of my kids. Unless your kids are perfectly trained not to move an inch when they see a camera & your house is professionally lit, I can't see how you would be satisfied with this camera. I took pictures in every different scenario imaginable and used all the different settings. The outside pictures of landscape turned out beautiful! Every other picture was grainy and/or blurry. If your into scenic photography this camera can't be beat for the price, but your planning on taking pictures of live people or animals look elsewhere. I even called Kodak and was told they have had ALOT of complaints about grainy/blurry pictures with this camera. They're advice was to try a couple of different settings for taking pictures of the kids & to "make sure you hold the camera perfectly still to avoid blurry pictures". Anyone else out there able to get a 2 year old to sit still & hold a pose while you try not to move a muscle & still get a decent picture? I've decided this is not the camera for me, so I'm sending it back. I've had a 5MP Kodak camera for the past 3 1/2 years and have had no problems until recently. I just don't think they make things like they used to even 3 short years ago. This is the second camera I've purchased to replace the old one, it's also the second disappointment. I'm not an expert photographer by any means, but to me, point & shoot means POINT & SHOOT. It doesn't mean point, change every setting imaginable, turn on 12 more lights, strap your kids in a highchair to make them sit still, then freeze yourself (except one finger to push the button), and then shoot. MAJOR LET DOWN!!!

I have used several different generations of Kodak's line of digi camera's - my last being a good solid snapshot 4MP camera. After reviwing CR - and feedback here at Amazon, I asked for this from my wife at Christmas with the goal of replacing my trusted old film SLR. I also want to include that my wife has a nice Canon sureshot - but it's too small for my hands - so in my quest to replace my SLR, I considered several models and went with Kodak because I was happy with my older camera's and it met my requirements.

I'm just wrapping up a 2 week vacation where I have had a chance to really get to know this camera, and its capabilities. I LOVE IT! I can now say that I made the right choice - and I'm glad that I didn't pay the extra money for a digi SLR. I'm not a pro - however I had been semi-pro many years ago when a good Minolta SLR was the only thing I could afford. At the time, I had considered going pro and buying a high quality Mamiya... The only drawback with this new Kodak is that you can't change lenses - however my style of photography today doesn't really warrant that requirement.

The manual features that this camera has, choice in viewfinder capabilities, the many settings that you can choose and switch to - WOW is all I have to say. After reading the booklet (a must because it's not all that intuitive until after you give the book a quick read) I have made use of almost all of the features. From stiching a landscape, to the macro focus used to take pix of flowers, to the low light musuem settings... WOW

If you buy this camera, you should also buy rechargeable bats - there is a knock-off brand that is available here at Amazon (read reviews) that I highly recommend and is at about half the cost of Kodak's product.

Great camera with excellent results. Takes great panoramas and close-ups. In all a very happy customer.
The only downside is, you cant use it with a normal batteries, eats them away very quickly. But rechargeable KLIC 8000 batteries work for a long time.

I purchased this camera a little over a year ago, and even though I have not mastered all of its functions, I have been very pleased with the product. I studied some photography, and was always a little hesitant to get into the digital camera craze (though this is my second digital camera). I was looking to get back into photography, but didn't want to spend so much money for an XLR, and then I came across this camera. It's surprising light weight, but still packs a powerful punch. I love its features (the ones I've played with thus far) and I look forward to exploring even more. I took this camera with me to the Caribbean for my cousin's wedding, and when I sent the photos around everyone thought they were the prints of the professional who did the wedding. I am very happy with my camera!

Overall, I am very satisfied with this camera. I LOVE the 3" screen. This camera turns on and off quickly, which is another plus for me. The AutoSmart feature is nice, but I also like the other picture taking modes that are available as well. They have been very useful. I've had this camera for about month and the only complaint I've had thusfar is that occasionally in low light settings it will produce a dark and grainy picture. Not sure why this is, but beyond that, the camera performs well. I would reccomend it to anyone looking for a slender camera with a big lcd screen to take casual pictures with.

Saw this camera on an info-mercial and thought it was pretty nice. Got my hands on it in a "big box" store and loved it. The camera is great. Easy to use if all you want to do is point-and-shoot. Yet has tons of manual settings if you like to customize your picture taking. Kodak hit a home run with this one...except for the battery. The battery life seems to be very short. I have had rechargeable batteries before that would last all day. This one seems to be done after a couple of hours. My advice is to buy an extra battery for this camera, or make sure you have the charging cable along. I would love it if they re-tooled this camera to take AA's.

The M1033 is a compact camera that takes excellent photos.I especially like the 3" LCD screen and the layout of the controls.The included rechargable battery will save you money in the long run and can be charged with the included AC adapter or USB cable.I do have a few minor gripes though:the battery life is short,the buffer takes a long time on large MP shots and the joystick is touchy.The included Easyshare software is buggy so I use Google Picasa instead.When making DVD's I use DVDFlick(free) or Sonic MyDVD,either one will convert MPEG-4 as long as you have Quicktime installed.
Having said that I have a few recommendations:turn off digital zoom,do not use an ISO setting higher than 800 in P mode,I recommend buying an extra battery(KLIC-7004),I also recommend using a high speed SD card because it takes faster shots and uploads to your PC faster.

I would not want any other camera. this takes Perfect pictures. Have had no problems except when using low end batteries they do use up quick, I am talking 500 pictures quick. I now purchased the Kodak rechargeable battery to go with this camera and it takes pictures forever. No problems otherwise. just don't be cheap about your batteries

I bought this camera because I like to take candid shots. You know the ones where nobody is expecting the picture and then they're all yelling ERASE THAT! And I am very pleased that this camera makes those pics possible. Unlike other digital cameras that tend to flash for five seconds before taking the picture I can go ahead and click away and capture the moment, whatever it may be. The screen is hard to see in darker places like bars or dimly lit restoraunts but is usually able to be viewed after pic is taken thanks to the awesome flash. It has a pretty god face recognizer on it but I honestly don't have a reference of comparison. It also has quite a bit of options for picture taking including a two-to-three shot panoramic mode. I wish it came with a case but that's about the only real complaint I have. I keep it on 5 mega pixels for the pictures and they come out looking amazing and it allows around 2000 pics on a 2GB SD memmory card.

The zoom feature is nice but when it gets into the digital zoom arena it gets pretty choppy. Not much of a complaint their though as the normal zoom goes in pretty deep.

All in all if you want a camera to take out and just take fun pics with you can't really go wrong with this one. It has great quality and timing and I've always trusted Kodak cameras.

Love this camera. I have one that I bought about 6 mos. ago and I am getting ready to buy a 2nd one. My husband uses the 1st one all the time and he likes it because its compact. I like it cause I can carry it around in my purse and use it whenever I want. It takes awesome pictures....I haven't had but a few pictures that didn't turn out...but that was me taking a crappy picture. This will be my 4th Kodak camera. I don't know what people keep talking about the LCD screen being hard to see...In certain lighting conditions ALL camera lcd's are hard to see. I have Canon Rebel XSI and it's the same problem. If the light is really bright and/or really dim they are all hard to see at times. This doesn't bug me. Its just a known fact that this is problem. It really disturbs me that people give it a bad rap for just that problem. The bottom line...It takes really good pictures and its easy to use. Thats all that really matters to me...

This camera works well for a casual "picture taker like myself.
There are some disappointments:
The camera CANNOT shoot videos in dim light.It does OK in hte daytime, but nothing at night or dim lighting. What's the sense in having a feature that you can only use half the time or less?
The camera can supposedly be hooked up to your TV. However it comes without the required connector cable, and guess what? This accessory(cable)seems impossible to find. I haven't found it yet.
Again, what's the sense in having a lovely feature that you can't use???
Sorry KODAK I can't give this one more than two stars.

I bought the Kodak Easyshare M1063 10.3MP to replace my old 3.1MP Easyshare camera that had broken(a good camera for the time). I thought it would be an upgrade however that was not the case. I just had twins in December, this is when I bought this camera. About 2 out of 200 pictures where not pixaladed or blurry. This camera is not good for indoor pictures because the flash doesn't have enough light. I brought it back to Bestbuy, where i bought it, and the guy agreed there was a problem with the design of the camera. I then replaced it with a Cannon A590 8MP ($110 camera) and what a differance. It takes great pictures for a point-n-shot. I will never buy a Kodak ever again.

I bought this camera because my previous digital camera was hugs, bulky, and just difficult to use, and I was getting ready to go overseas for a few weeks as part of an international adoption. I wanted something that was compact and took good pics. This pretty red camera has a huge (3") display that fills almost the whole back side of the camera. The one thing I noticed right away is that when you snap a picture, it immediately takes the pic. My old digital camera had a noticeable delay in between pushing the shutter button and when the picture was actually taken, leaving plenty of time to move and blur the picture and plenty of time to miss those precious spontaneous pics. It also takes short videos which came in very handy on my visit trip! The camera is very easy to use, and a whole 10 megapixels which is amazing for the very reasonable price of the camera. I love it!!!

For the price I really enjoy this camera. It is compact and very functional with plenty of options for me (although I don't have much knowledge about cameras). I found it very user friendly and at 8.2MP with a 4GB SD card, it has a picture capacity in the thousands. My only problem with it is that you can't view pictures/videos without turning it on and extending the lens. If there was a way to view pictures without extending the lens, this would be a perfect camera.

I LOVE this camera. I'd gotten another model for my husband a year ago, and I finally decided to come into the digital age. Neither of us knows much about this technology. This camera is easy to use...even for us, and the pictures are pretty awesome. I'd recommend this camera for anyone who is learning...and the price is terrific compared to others.

I love all the picture taking options as well; back lit subjects, far off scenery, fireworks, beach during the day. they go on and on. Highly recommend this camera.

I got my Z812is about 8 months ago and took about 1000 pictures and maybe 50 videos so far. This is my first digital camera so I cant compare it to other ones. The Good: picture quality, video quality, zoom, the time you need to wait between pictures is minimal. Bad, or not so good: It eats batteries for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It doesn't even work on a regular AA batteries, I had to get Lithium ones witch don't last very long. It is a little balky, so you can't just stick it in your pocket. I wish it had a sleep mode button, because if I turn it on and off, it eats batteries, if I leave it on, it eats batteries. It does go to a sleep mode after few minutes, and then turns off after few more, but I wish there was a button for it. I will get a rechargeable battery pack and will update this review later. The picture quality is good, but they are big in size. Pictures will be anywhere from 0.8MB up to over 2MB in size.

Me and my girlfriend just purchased this camera today and after initially looking for the Fuji 8.2mp J10 we were drawn to this camera. What won use over in an instant was not any features or optical zoom which is what I always look for 1st, but the quality of the pictures. I was upgrading from my eBay special Sony DCS P52 3.2mp, it served me well for my 1st digital camera, but it was time for a serious upgrade simply because I love taking great pictures. This camera is a great by for a 10MP in its class. although we have had it a short time. The picture quality is the main feature I was look for, if a camera can not do that well then what is it good for.

I own a canon power shot sd950is and its great.
I wanted another camera that did not cost much but took
great pictures for my trip to New York.
I cant beleave how great these pictures came out as good as they did
but I am happy with it.

I used to have Kodak EasyShare DX7590. That camera was producing beautiful and great quality pictures. I still have this camera but I wanted to buy a small camera that will fit my pocket. So I bought Sony W-170 CyberShot, but I sold it after one week because I didn't like the pictures at all. The pictures were not clear and the general quality is too low.

In that moment, I returned to the shopping mall and reviewed all the small cameras they have and after a careful consideration, I decided to buy Kodak EasyShare M1033.

Kodak EasyShare M1033 gave me the quality I want with reasonable price. I noticed that all Kodak products are delivering the same great quality and sharp pictures.

Kodak M1033 has different modes that you can select depending on the situation. I used the beach mode when I went with my family and the pictures were so great and the color the blue water was so nice in the pictures. Even my family couldn't believe that this camera was able to capture such pictures with that great quality.

The overall experience with this camera is GREAT and I strongly recommend it for anyone wants a small camera with high quality and resolution pictures. This camera is easy to use with its programmed modes that provide various types of pictures in different situations.

I bought this camera, the Kodak Easyshare V1073, to replace my old digital Polaroid, yes Polaroid, camera. I wanted something made in this century and a major upgrade, and I think I got both. The touch screen definitely makes using this camera so much easier then having to press a million buttons to do anything like most of the standards on the market.

Pros: Touchscreen makes everything easier, explanations for the different modes are in camera, smart capture takes out the guess work, great macro shots, image stabilization works like a dream; your subject could spin like a Tazmanian devil, and it still takes a great still shot.

Cons: Touch screen is practically INVISIBLE in sunlight. You have to hold your hand over the screen to make it out. The battery door is flimsy. Lense stays out every time your turn the camera on. Must charge battery in camera.

Buy this camera if you are a point and shoot fan, and you want something a little fancier then what's currently out.

Well, I really liked the touch screen, it was really fun to use the camera with the touch screen feature. However, I purchased this camera because my other digital camera has a bit of a hesitation before it actually snaps the picture, but when it did take the picture they were really crisp and clear. With this Kodak however, it seemed like maybe 4 out of 10 pictures at most were crisp and clear, and the other 6 out of 10, kind of had a blurry glow to the edges of the objects in the pictures!! However it did take the pictures very quick. So if you arent a perfectionist like me, then this might be the camera for you, but I myself will keep looking for the right one!!

I got this camera to take to China with me so I could remember everything I did and saw there. It worked fine the first 4 weeks, then on the 5th week the lens part wouldnt come out right or go back in at all. I was frustrated, especially since I was on a trip and couldnt have it fixed right away. I sent it back in when I got home and had it fixed. After that it worked fine, then started up with the lens thing AGAIN so I sent it back again asking if they could replace it ( I thought it was just a dud) and they did. This camera worked fine until a week ago when the screen started shaking crazily when I turned it on and now its completely blank and wont let me see the pictures I take. Although when this camera worked, it took great pics and was really clear, its just not one that I would recommend.

My husband and I JUST bought this camera, and after only five days, it no longer works! I turned it on this morning to try to take some pictures and it is giving me trouble. The camera 'turns on' and the lens extends. However, the screen does not show an image, it obviously won't take a picture and it won't turn off. My guess is that because the screen is black, the shutter isn't working properly. I've never owned a Kodak digital camera before this, and needless to say, I won't again. Their product obviously lacks in quality.
