This camera is exactly what I was looking for. Tired of the big cameras since all I need is a good point and shoot. This SX 510 is perfect. Haven't taken many pictures yet but will update a little later.

Picture quality is great with or without flash refresh time could be faster that's the time between taking one picture and another

Way better in low light than my old Canon. The 50x optical zoom is both more wide angle and way more zoom. I'd recommend at least a mono pod for using the high zoom! I didn't realize how much bigger the LCD screen was...I like! Plus it's swivel option is one of the reasons I love canon. You can hold the zoom at high or low angles or even for self portraits or even around a cornerand still see it perfectly. I love shooting candid shots by holding the camera at a right angle to my face and taking a shot when others don't think you can see what you're shooting. Only down side is it is a bit larger and heavier than my old Canon PS2IS.

This is one of the best cameras I ever purchased. Totally worth the price. The video feature is crystal clear and the pictures are flawless. Obviously it's not a point and shoot so it's a little bulky, but once you see how the pictures turn out, you will totally forget about it!

This camera is amazing if you need to zoom in from far away. We are happy with its performance so far

I have only had the camera a few weeks but most of the photos I have taken are beautiful and I am so pleased with the amazing detail. I still am learning how to select the best setting for each shot. I am enjoying playing with the straight forward controls.and I look forward to many great shots on my upcoming cruises.

I really liked this camera, the only thing I was not crazy about was that the color in your pictures was not the true color, purple came out navyblue, etc. Otherwise, I loved the wide angle LCD, the zoom was great... Good lowlight!

I've been enjoying the amazing zoom and the slow motion video. This has been a very enjoyable camera for the money.

I have to admit, I am not a very avid photographer and until now have only used my cell phone and Ipod cameras. I think that for the price, this is exceptionally a great camera and who can ask for more. Does one need anything else unless a professional photographer? I say not. You will be pleased with this camera as I am. EXCELLENT PICTURE quality. And video that is better than blue ray discs.

Ordered camera after seeing it 4+ star consumer reviews. Received camera and shot 115 test photos (most in automatic mode); 35 photos were blurry, and that was with the image stabilization on. Camera is made of cheap grade plastic (in my opinion). The rotorly control dial on the back is not at all user friendly, being in a location where your finger will accidentally rotate it. I expected much more from this camera, and was quite disappointed. It was returned the next day after receiving it. I got better results from my cheap Fujifilm 20X zoom lens camera. Even got better photos from an older model canon point and shoot camera. I did not expect it to be "as good as my DSLR camera, but did expect it to be better than what it was.

Returned for replacement. Lens had a squeak when powering camera on. Very prompt customer service. New camera being sent to me within one day.

I'm not professional, however this camera is awesome. I love it.No problems until now. Good image, quality, size and weight. No issues with the zoom. Battery life is good. Videos and Pictures are awesome.Update:From Dec. 2012 until Oct.2013, this camera was excellent product.The facts:PROS:- Pictures of distant Birds with zoom are amazing. With +50x, you will need a tripod or base for best results.- Flower pictures with real colors- Pictures of people in action are fantastic getting the exaclty moment of the activity. No blur.- In terms of videos, I usually don't use the camera for videos, however I have some of them without noise of the zoom mechanism.- Moon pictures. Wow, this was the best part using my Canon camera. The moon pictures are really impressive, when you can see clearly the moon surface details. I use full zoom (200x, digital zoom included ). I have a tripod and a the Canon Remote Control avoiding undesired movements.- Weight and size perfects. The camera quality materials are very good.CONS:- I use a lot the viewfinder during sunlight and I think that it could be better in terms of definition.- I some cases, the options/buttons are a little bit complicated to use. Over time you will get used.NEXT:- I will explore the camera capabilities, taking pictures of dark skies with the stars.- I will make videos in slow motion (fps 240).I recommend this camera for general use. After almost 1 year of use, I remain loving it.

I Purchased This Item And Love It But Was Suppose To Get A 16GB Memory Card And Did Not Receive That Card

I just returned from an Alaska Cruise. I took several wildlife pictures that were astonishing. To the naked eye, the goats on the mountain side were just white dots but the pictures I took were clear and well focused. I used a monopod to steady the camera and shot the pictures. The white dots were a mother and her baby. Also shot pictures of a convocation of eagles that I had to shoot on rapid fire because they were flying so fast. When I looked at these pictures on the computer, several of them blew up into nice clear pictures of eagles. Great camera. glad I got it in time to take on the trip.

Am I wrong to expect the camera to come with all components needed to take a photo, and SEE the photo as well?The camera arrived without a memory card or special cable(s), two items necessary to take and view a photo!This is bad business, and it is now a mistake for me to have made this purchase because I'm leaving on a trip and can't wait for another mail shipment. I won't be able to buy a memory card or cable where I'm going and now I won't be able to use the camera for my trip.Thanks Canon! Thanks Amazon!!What college graduate thought this was a good idea?I'll go to Best Buy from now on for my electronics.
