We got this camera to replace a Canon Rebel SLR... I don't remember the exact model number. This one is definitely nice and we love the video function. We use it for some short 20 - 90 second videos. The pictures that we have taken are very clear and I would say they compare to our old SLR, but I'm not exactly a professional photographer. I do have a couple of complaints though. It seems like it takes a while to focus before it takes the picture. There have been a few times in low light where I tried to get a picture of one of the grand kids and by the time it finally clicked, they had moved. The only other complaint is the battery doesn't seem to last as long as out old camera. Maybe the different technology on this one just uses more battery than the old camera, I'm not sure. I'll just make sure we carry a spare battery when we take it, not a huge deal. The zoom on this thing is amazing!

I was so happy when my camera arrived in 5 days. But soon I discovered that it did not come with an SD Card. I take photos but cannot view them. Had I known, I would have ordered a card at the same time. I am hoping that this will be the only disappointment. So off I go to read the manual. Ill do an update as soon as I am able to.I am very pleased with photos that I took on the weekend. Only problem I had was zooming in on an object from a few feet away. It would become very blurred. Before anyone says anything, I do not have much experience with cameras. However, I am looking forward to learning and using this camera. :)

I did a research for about three weeks, I read tons of reviews from experts to consumers. I also went to my local B.Buy to hold and try different cameras, and I just fell in love with the cannon SX50. I'm not a professional photographer, but with this camera I feel like one. The pictures come out great, I'm very impress with the quality of the pictures, there is no need for the built in flash since the camera performs great in low light conditions. I also bought the Replacement NB-10L Battery for Canon PowerShot G15 G16 G1 X SX40 SX50 HS that way I have a back up battery. But the most important feauture of this camera is the 50x zoom, I have taken awsome pictures and videos of the Moon, and the planet Jupiter (and even 3 of Jupiter's moons). I also bought Case Logic DCB-304 Compact System/Hybrid Camera Case and Transcend 16GB Class 10 SDHC Flash Memory Card. You may want to check out this video review from youtube ( [...] ).

I bought this camera over other options for the particular feature of having the wifi connection and Image Gateway App, I live outside the US but there was no mention on the literature that the App was restricted.I spent the better part of a month in contact with Canon about the issue when they finally told us to contact Canon Latinamerica but they weren't at all helpful.By the time I got done with Canon the dead line to return the camera was almost on me and left me no time to return it.Canon took forever to give me a workable answer and now i feel like they just took the money and ran.

I am very satisfied with this camera for the purpose and within the restraints with which I purchased it. I wanted the 1200mm focal length. It is a very long focal length camera that performs wonderfully in bright daylight. As the light wanes, so should the expectations for this camera. Of course, it should not be expected to perform as a camera that is f2.8 across the entire focal range of the lens. This camera is a very reasonably priced camera for its focal length capabilities. I have really enjoyed my experiences and results with it so far, and I expect to continue to be happy with it. I also have a Nikon D300 and lenses as well as a Canon G11. The Canon SX50 HS has applications and capabilities that neither of my other two cameras can touch. It is a good value with very satisfactory results when used primarily within its design purposes.

I waited a long time to purchase a new camera. I bought this one several months ago before a trip to The Grand Teton Mountains followed by several days in Yellowstone. It wasn't until I printed some of my 2,000+ pictures that i realized something was very wrong. I emailed the online support and found that my camera was set on an aspect ratio of 1:1 instead of 3:4. This is certainly something I had never heard of before. My pictures are all square, so I have to chose to have them printed either horizontally or vertically. I lose either way. This has been very upsetting to me, especially with these once in a lifetime pictures. I just got off of the phone with a Canon representative. He accepts absolutely no blame for this from the factory. He told me that someone must have taken the camera out at some point and played with it. I asked him if he meant someone at Amazon did this, and of course he said he had no idea. He even told me that I could special order prints which even made me more angry since I can't even imagine that cost. I have always bought Canon products, but this is really leaving a sour taste for the company.

this camera is convenience to shoot general events like playing kids or birds or festival etc..Photo quility is good enough for general use. With this camera you can get more photo opportunity than DSLR.Very good zoom with effective IS. I like the sport mode for playing kids. I am taking this camera everywhere for general purpose use, taking my kids, bird, insects, plane, moon etc.. Video quality is good as well.Better than buying a cheap zoom lens only.My personal opinion, you can get good quality photo if you use properly. For pro photographer this one is really nice to play for personal use. For general people it is lot of fun using this camera. For someone who want to learn photography don't buy this, buy basic DSLR.ISO and noise handling is good and I got some nice bird photo but I would like to point out some facts. It need a lot of lights for zoom. If subject is in the shade you could get noisy and blur image. If subject is 45 degree or so against the bright light you could get most part blow out image with chromatic aberration, hight light cliping. Anyway you have chances to get nice bird photo with this lens. Practice using tripod and play around with IS disable. Sometime focus doesn't work properly, using auto mode and zooming a subjects in full size filling the frame, focus doesn't work and keep hunting in enough bright light and distance. You can take macro close up without using zoom. If you use zoom it could not focus in certain distance.F stop is very limited f4.5 ~ f8. You can't go further than f8.Built quality is normal. Battery life is short. Viewfinder is useless.Overall, this is good camera for the price.

This is the third Canon I have purchased and all three still work. The first is a film camera that I almost never use anymore digital is just too convenient. The second is an old Power Shot S500 that started taking bad photos after six years, it turned out to be a recall problem, I sent it and they fixed and returned it all for free. I purchased this one because the Power Shot S500 is just a bit outdated now. I have found it easy to use, the photos come out great and the size and weight is good. It took a bit of time to set the camera to computer set up but running the camera is easy. The photo quality is very good but I do think that real film captures depth better digital is always a little flat. I was a little concerned about the size not fitting in my purse but it is lightweight and not that bulky.

I was looking for an inexpensive quality zoom camera to take on a trip to Europe in addition to my iPhone. This more than Canon fit the bill. It was small enough to easily stash in a bag avoiding the tourist look with the camera strapped around the neck. It has built in wifi so when I got to the hotel at night I could easily back up pictures just incase. Lastly the picture quality, quick focusing, shutter responsiveness (not much recording lag between pictures) and overall ease of use make this Canon an excellent valueThe only reason I gave this 4 out if 5 stars was that the lens size is smaller than 52mm so it needs an adapter (not included). I wasn't aware if this and ended up having to leave for my trip without a uv filter which I always like to add for lens protection. Also I found the picture review button in a place that I kept hitting while trying to shoot pictures, but that was probably just more me being used to other cameras.

Takes very nice shots outside. Birds look out! Fully zoomed shots sometimes show a wee bit of chromatic aberration (green or purple outline) which may detract from a sharp look, but it's pretty well controlled and you have to consider the price of this camera. It's not too shabby. It's all in all better than I was expecting. Pleasing outside photos. Giving this as a gift to a young bird watcher/world explorer who should love it.

Takes great vibrant pictures. Lots of functions (manual, program, scenes and auto among many others) and still easy enough to use for beginners. Used it a lot and tested it under many different conditions during the holidays (low light, flash, sunny, cloudy, beach, sports). Really good zoom. Lightweight. Good battery life. When using flash, camera may be a little slow to shoot sometimes (around 2.5 seconds). Really good video quality. I was initially drawn to this model because of the wifi. Even though uploading through wifi is simple enough, there is no "select all" function, so you're forced to select the photos one-by-one in order to upload (big PITA when uploading 100+ photos). Notice this model doesn't have a viewfinder (I don't mind, but maybe you would).

I have a 5d mark 2 and a Rebel xsi. I got the sx510 HS thinking it would be a good walking around camera. After the first day of having fun and enjoying the ease of use and small size, I loaded the images onto my computer. I was shocked that almost all the images were either blurred or were very grainy. I expect more from a $200 camera. I shot everything on automatic mode and the iso ranged from 80-1600.

Bought this for a safari because I wanted a better zoom but not a dslr to lug around. Wow! Best pictures from a point-shoot I have ever taken. Very powerful zoom lens and a great focus system. Fast - good color. Really - this was a great purchase. Battery life is good - but you can buy spare batteries for just a couple bucks.

This is going to be a quick review of the SX50 HS camera. I also have the Panasonic FZ200 camera and they compare very favorably in many areas. I like the image quality of the SX50 camera and the noise is a little better than the FZ200 camera. I like the big zoom, and it is fairly easy to take very detailed crisp shots at full 50X zoom hand held in daylight conditions.It does have a couple of quirks. One is at any shot over 1 second, the camera automatically shoots at ISO 80, and a lot of people don't like that. Another quirk is in Aperture Priority (probably Program as well) the exposure time will not go over 1 second shutter speed no matter how dark the environment is. If the light and shutter speed are not adequate the camera will take a dark shot. That makes the camera somewhat hard to use in low light dim shots in Aperture Priority. I would use Auto in those low light conditions. In Auto it will just set the ISO higher to get the shot, but with that comes more noise. In many cases I think it is a good thing to have the ISO real low to keep out the noise in low light shots, but many want the option to use a higher ISO with a longer exposure time.Overall I really like the camera and plan on keeping it. The lens is a little bit slow, but it seems to do fairly well in low light as long as nothing is moving, which is the same as any other bridge camera. It has a lot of features and takes great pictures! The price is great too. Not only does it zoom to 50X, but does so with very crisp sharp photos at that amount of zoom. The stability system works very well too, allowing hand held shots at max 50X zoom with great results.I have the Panasonic FZ150 and FZ200 cameras in addition to the SX50. I also have a Nikon D7000 with the Nikon 18-300mm lens, as well as a Sony Nex F3. I am doing testing with all of these cameras and the results can be seen on page 2 of the comments.

I love this camera! The 50x zoom is amazing. I took a photo of three baby robins in a nest from across a street in our RV park and my friends were astounded at how clear it was. The 286 page manual is a bit daunting but I will learn things as I need them. I have also found some helpful videos online.

After five years of trying to find a good point and shoot, I finally found one that is worthy of purchase. I purchased others but they just weren't worthy. Excellent daytime and low light shooting and the video is just awesome. Starts up fast, shoots quickly, and the pictures are sharp.Only con is that it is larger than most point and shoot cameras and you'll need to flip up the flash manually but you will be happy with quality pictures and a quality camera. If you are ok with the size, buy this now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(infinity!)

Bought this camera for a specific purpose. A Med Cruise and tour of Rome. I have other more expensive cameras, but this fit my need. I took over 2000 pictures and the camera never failed. I can't say as much for my picture taking. This is a great little camera that I would recommend to others.

Camera is great for still photos or even when capturing distant objects the zoom can easily snap a clear photo. The video was amazing quality especially when plugging it into the tv. had no problem carrying this around for a day of capturing video and pictures its the perfect size. would recommend to anyone looking for a camera.

I purchased this from Best Buy for two reasons, one they would price match Amazon and two the ease of returns. Now the price is even lower on Amazon in less than 10 days, so much for price matching.The Pros of the camera are this:1. The long reach of the zoom.2. The pictures are quite good for it being a bridge camera even when not using the zoom. I do use a DSLR and a NEX, so I would know.3. Auto mode functions great for my wife so she can use it.3. It supports RAW, more on this in cons.4. It does have a hot shoe a plusNow to the cons:1. Terrible menu layout. Some features aren't available in some modes.2. Low light and ISO performance well just aren't what I am used to with my NEX or my Sony SLT, but it is a bridge camera.3. The zoom tends to over shoot where I want it to stop at. This has happened a lot and it is annoying... I find myself trying to get the range correct and almost miss the shot.4. No USB cable, come on Canon this is a 300+ dollar camera and it was over 400 dollars to begin with.5 No RAW in Auto and some other modes, or I least I can seem to get it to do this.Overall I like the camera for bird shots and other long zoom shots, but I may return it an see what some of the other super zooms have to offer. The camera isn't as bad as some reviewers make it out to be, but the camera is just to much of a compromise to me to keep it. I gave the camera 3 stars, but I would give it 3 and a half stars if it was possible.

Am very pleased with the results I'm getting from this camera so far. It's very close in size, weight and balance to my previous Canon and the controls are located where I expect them. The zoom exceeded my expectations and the camera is far easier to take into the field than I thought. I can now get up close and personal with birds, wildlife and even insects like never before. This thing is just plain fun with a rich feature set that I've just begun to explore.

So I got this little camera to take quck snap shots while filming for personal use. I love this little camera, it is compact enough to toss in a bad and run but powerful enough to take beautiful shots and 1080p video is clear and clean. Audio isn't as amazing, but that is to be expected. And an added bonus, machine washable charger!! Okay, well maybe not intentionally. But I accidentally put my charger threw the wash and, after sticking it in a bag of rich for 24 hours, it works just fine!My family and I are long time canon owners and users with a t3i, t5i, S120, XF 100, and XF 305.

I am, what I call, the average photographic consumer. I need great pictures from a camera that doesn't require extensive photography knowledge. This camera is perfect! It takes high quality photographs with ease. Has a camera body that is easy to hold (I find the slimline body styles harder to hold still). It is lightweight, I can carry it around my neck or in my jacket pocket and forget it is there. The zoom is amazing. I've been considering the purchase of a camera of my own for 2 years. I am so glad I selected this one. My husband, a man much more versed photographer, is very impressed with this camera and he uses digital SLRs.If you are looking for an incredible value in a digital camera I suggest the Canon Powershot SX510 HS.

I'm not going to go over the minutiae of how this thing works, except to say it is effing brilliant. Changed up from the Kodak Max Z990 (with the same size and tech of sensor = 12M CMOS), and there is no comparison. The pictures are so much sharper, focus is easier to acquire, and shot to shot speed is just superb. Particular favourites are the 'stitch-assist' feature, the multi-shot feature, the HDR feature, and the HD movies where the zoom is totally silent.If you are in America (as I was recently) then you can get this on Amazon dotcom for just Ł245 (@$360) equivalent. That's one hell of a saving on the UK price of Ł360+ (where Canon seems to think one dollar equals one pound). Even though the misers at Canon won't give it a worldwide warranty, and Squaretrade at the moment are backing that up, it was worth it. The savings alone will let me get accessories like lens hoods, extra batteries, and still be on the up.There are various comments online about battery life being poor compared to the SX40HS. However, I actually found in real world use, that I went back to using the EVF as if it was an SLR like old times. This will save battery life, and I had no problems at all with using the camera all day, in a mix of situations, pictures, videos, zooming etc, and I only recharged it every 3-4 days as a precaution.Get one, immediately, you won't regret it!

This camera is good, pictures come out fine.The reason I only marked it as 3 stars is because it doesn't seem to have a a major benefit over a regular Canon point-and-shoot.I was looking for a little more sophistication which I don't think this camera has.Its size and weight are good but then again, the point-and-shoot are more compact and give you the same results.The big zoom is nice.You will enjoy it if you are looking for a decent point-and-shoot with a nice zoom (and looks a little more sophisticated than a point-and-shoot :) ) But if you are looking for a "fake" DSLR then this is probably not what you are looking for.Enjoy!

This camera is awesome - small but mighty. It takes wonderful pictures in auto and the zoom is amazing. The only other setting I have tried is the sports setting and it takes two photos when you press and release the shutter - a really neat feature to make sure you do not miss the action. This is so much better than your average point and shoot and much less hassle than a SLR. Great bridge camera!

I have bought the new versions of this camera as they've come out and have always bought only cannon cameras. The last two were great, but this model has been different. The zoom is the only real reason to buy, but really the last model with slightly less zoom took much better pictures. Regardless, about a month ago the flash started going off even when closed and would make a horrible "spark" sound. I have been using settings that do not ever use flash to avoid the problem. But, yesterday the camera froze and stopped working all together. Will try to contact cannon, but I'm out of the US for the next few months and based on reviews here, I'm not hopeful. Looking for a replacement now and seriously thinking itt is time to mahe the switch from cannon after many many years as a loyal customer.

I was looking for an upgrade for my little point and shoot camera that I have had for about 5 years now. I wanted something that had a little more power than just the small ones. I did look at getting an entry-level DSLR but even then when I started comparing the costs, this just made too much sense. To get even a decent zoom I would need to spend hundreds more and get a case and lug them around. This camera fits perfectly around my neck and the zoom is AMAZING. Not just the zoom, the quality when zooming is amazing. I only just started using this less than a week ago so I haven't played with all the feature so I'm sure I'll come back and edit this review. So far though I can say that if you are looking to upgrade from a small point and shoot and want some (I repeat some) of the versatility of a DSLR, without having to carry around a number of lenses, this is the perfect camera. Once I try out all the features I will be back to update this reviewUpdate: Took this to the zoo and got some amazing shots. I'll upload some when I get some time. Some of the pictures look like I'm standing next to the animals and didn't lose quality. Still amazes me.

I purchased the SX50 for an upcoming game viewing trip to southern Africa. This camera exceeded my expectations for a wide variety of outdoor conditions (sunny, cloudy, low light, etc.). The 50X zoom is amazing and enables photographers to reach out and precisely frame their subjects with minimal effort. The automatic image stabilization function enables the capture of high quality images throughout the zoom range in most lighting conditions. I found that the "Smart Auto" mode performed as well or better than any of the manual modes. The Auto mode enabled me to concentrate my attention on composing images of nerverous wildlife rather than missing key shots due to having to manually adjust settings for varying lighting conditions. EXCELLENT VALUE for photographers at all experience levels!!!

I use my cameras almost exclusively for nature shots - long shots for birds and mammals, close ups for butterflies and moths.On the plus side:(1) Canon kept the pixel count at 12 MB and did not succumb to the temptation of overstuffing 20Mb onto the small sensor, as the SONY HX300 did.(2) The Powershot SX50 uses the same batteries as the SX40, a welcome bonus.However, in terms of image quality, Canon didn't get it right.I compared my old Powershot 40SX with the new Powershot 50SX . I took photos of the same subjects with both cameras. All photos were taken during the day, sometimes using AUTO and sometimes using P(rogram) mode, during both sunny and overcast conditions. Bafflingly, the results were inconsistent. Sometimes the SX50 out-performed the SX40, but typically not.(1) The Powershot 50SX's best photos never looked sharp or matched the quality of the best photos taken with the Powershot 40SX.(2) Under low light conditions, in this case cloudy skies, all photos from the Powershot 50SX were poor - they always appeared to be soft or out of focus. There were never any sharply defined edges.A key field mark of any wildlife photograph is getting the eye of the subject in sharp focus. If the eye is not sharp, the photo fails. Even from a distance of a mere 5 inches, taken in Macro mode, the SX50 could not capture a sharp eye of a Sleepy Duskywing. The sun was out and the lens was not zoomed out at all, so image stabilization should not have been a factor.The Powershot 50SX is useless for my purposes and I'm taking it back. - Bob

I was looking for a better camera than the SX10 that I bought a few years ago and this one was the best choice for me. The price was right ($318). The thing I love about this camera is the 50X optical zoom. If you want a lot of the qualities of an SLR, but don't want to carry around several lenses, this is the one. This camera is not a perfect solution, but a very good one.

Works great out of the box as a point and shoot camera. However, in auto mode, the hue can be on the green side if there is a outside window with sunshine or a light bulb within the frame you are trying to shoot. Can't wait to see what I can do with it once I have time to study the directions.

The camera itself is excellent , very fast, the 30 x zoom is marvellous and the manual settings are easy to operateIt's not as heavy as a DSRL, the battery life is good,It's not a pocket size camera, but it is not difficult to carryThe bad issue - wireless features - you only can upload photos ( using wireless )to social networks as facebook if you register atcanon website and if you live in the USA....Something they should inform before you buy it.Yes you can upload the images to your computer with wireless connection since you have a HD screen in your computer or notebook.The wireless features are somehow difficult to set and useless if you live outside the USA or you don't have HD computer (1028x724)If you won't use wireless and dont mind about a full HD movies save money and buy a SX500HS

This had what I was looking for - light weight for walking long distances and wide range for shooting things far off. Have had it several weeks now and am pleased with it. Has some drawbacks - mainly hard to fix location on birds from a distance before they move again, but overall, I've gotten some quite decent shots. Already own 2 DSRL's but they are heavy! Would buy it again - and for the price it's fantastic.

I researched a lot of cameras!! I started off with point and shoots and most of them got not so good reviews I would love to own a DSLR but the cost is out of my price range ( after lenses and stuff) soooo....this camera fit the bill. I LOVE IT the lens is great for telephoto outdoor applications.Short focal lengths indoors (with the flash) is great. you can use it in manual mode or go full auto. I got around 200 pics on a battery charge and this was with a lot of playing with the lens focal lengths. if you use the camera in the highest quality mode you can print really good, to amazingly good pics. the screen is bright and useful most of the time if you like a eyepiece view this one is great you can adjust how much info you see when you are getting ready to shoot. the software that came with it was useless!!... but I didn't try too hard to get it to work, I just used windows pics. I haven't used the movie part (other than to try it out) it seemed fine. If your looking for a transitional camera (between point and shoot and a pro setup) this is a great way to go.

Великолепно

I love this camera, it takes great pictures and it is easy to use, but it didn't come with a cord that connects the camera to your computer to download the pictures. The manuel talks about the cord and tells you how to download.

I was a little disappointed in this camera. Hard to understand the settings but of course I am almost 70. But I consider myself pretty tech savvy. You have to hold the camera really, really still on the zoom to get a non-blurry picture. Of course my hands are not as steady as years ago and I have not had this powerful of a zoom before. I am a concert promoter so when I take pictures of a group on stage I would like to be able to set the camera so it will take clear pictures in bright stage lights. Hard to focus with this camera unless I figure out a perfect setting. I would spend more next time for a better camera if I knew what I know now. Still use it and it is workable but not the quality I wanted.

I normally shoot stills with my Sony A57, but it is too limited for long zooming, and not very smooth in video mode since it is manual zoom. The SX50 fills this void very well, plus it even has better stabilization in video mode than my a57 at longer ranges, not to mention 50x magnification. Plus with the SX50 I also get the option of 12mp stills which are not bad either, try that with any camcorder for the same price.

I have owned a Canon SX40 HS for some time and have always enjoyed excellent results. The SX50 produces just as great results with the added telephoto capability of the 1200mm. I also own several Canon EOS cameras with lenses of all focal lengths. The SX 50 allows me to be lazy and not carry a heavy camera bag with the EOS of choice and all the lenses necessary to match the capabilities of the SX50. Oh, for the simple life!!

I am no photographer but I wanted a camera that took really nice pictures without me having to learn a special skill set. This one does the job. It's also just the right size. We inherited a large Canon Rebel and we never end up using it because who wants to lug around a giant camera in a huge bag when they're out and about enjoying life? Not me. Plus, I never figured out how to get the right settings for different shots. This one makes me feel like a pro without the hassle.

I bought this camera after seeing some photos a friend of mine took in Yellowstone using one. The telephoto capabilities are amazing for a fixed lens. We took it on vacation to Costa Rica, and got some photos I wouldn't have been able to get as easily with any other camera. Great camera for wildlife!

I just got back from a cruise. I used this camera and it is awesome. I was directed to this camera by an article in the ORLANDO SENTINEL. The photographers write a small article each week about their photographs. One week one of the photographers wrote about how much he liked this camera and what an awesome deal it is. I wholeheartedly agree. I am so glad I bought it.

Love the camera. Takes great photos. I still have a lot to learn about it, and use the settings more. It can take movies while you take photos (Movie Digest setting) -- which is awesome on holidays, you can take both and not sacrifice one or the other! I love that! I also love that it's got WiFi which makes it very easy to transfer pics from it to my cell phone or computer.

After having this camera a couple weeks now went back and deleted my original review. I originally only gave it 3 stars. When I first got this camera I was so disappointed in it. I thought it was all hype. Out of the box the shots I was getting were not of the caliber I was expecting.I didn't see them as good as my SX-40. and at over 500 MM were not that great. I had considered sending it back. Over the next 10 days it seemed to be a bit better. In talking to my brother in-law he said he had encountered the same thing and was advised to buy a class 10 SD card. I did and I can not believe the difference..My shots are clear and great image quality even up to the 1200 max. Either I had a less that stellar SD card or this camera works best on class 6 or 10 SD cards.I live near the Smoky Mountains and the fall colors I am taking are coming out clear and beautiful. I am so pleased with this camera. Folks if you are experiencing what I was try another SD card before sending it back...just might make all the difference...

If you're a novice or close to being expert photographer, this camera will come mighty close to or meet the " pro" model cameras. The feel, material and workmanship is of good quality, and the controls are ergonomically placed around the camera. The only problem I have with the camera is the Function/Set button is at a place where my thumb is always inadvertantly changing the ISO, exposure or other settings. I had to continually remind myself to remember to keep my thumb away from that area. Otherwise, the camera is a gem. I like to use to use the camera to capture images of animals and to document family events. Whatever the scene, the result is always a perfect photo with sharp images, and deep colors. I submitted my photos to an online photo service that'll convert your images into a book form and I couldn't believe how beautiful my photos where. I am no way a pro photographer, but 'dang-gum' my pictures looked great! Furthermore, there is an option to use the camera either in manual mode or auto for even more control. I've had this camera since February and I am really enjoying it. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun with photography, now. I'm glad I purchase the PowerShot SX50HS.

Over the years I have had many cameras. I miss film, and continue to use it on a limited basis. The SX510 has shown me some amazing ways of the digital camera. The HD full video is truly amazing. This camera was a gift less than a year ago and each day I find something new to try.The con is an occasional focus issue.The pro is everything you would want and hope for in a digital camera.The grip is excellent.Navigating the visible commands and internal menu is clear.This Canon has put my digital Olympus to shame........Regardless of your proficiency I assure you that you have room for this wonderful, dependent camera.

I bought this camera as a gift for my great niece who is pursuing her interest in photography.....she absolutely loves this camera and after seeing many of the pictures she has taken with it, I am so glad I made this choice. Camera takes awesome pictures.The pictures are so detailed and clear. I.m going to put this camera on my "wish list" for myself.
