I have to say I am bitterly disappointed with this camera. When zooming in with the camera on the sport symbol, the camera is continually zooming in and out and will not stay focused so all your action shots are blurry. The only way to get a good shot is in the auto mode with the green auto symbol and then you can only take one shot at a time. Also,the photos are much smaller when you download them. Everything looks far away. I am very disappointed with this product from Canon. I bought the Canon 60D camera before this one and was so pleased I was expecting the same quality in the point and shoot, and it is definitely not there. Before this camera I had the Kodak Easyshare Max, which zoomed to 30 x's zoom. Now that camera was amazing. Crisp photos and the action shots were perfect, so believe me, I will be throwing this one out and will try to find another Kodax Max. Too bad Kodak got out of the game too early they were far and above when it comes to the point and shoot. That camera I just plain wore out with constant use.

Bought this for my M-I-L who is not a techy and she really likes it. Very easy to use for a novice photographer and takes great stills & video. Also has many many advanced settings for total adjustability. Its a great camera when compared to similar models from other manufacturers. Zoom is clear and stability aid is helpful. For a point & shoot compact its a great camera.

This is a great little camera the pictures are awesome it has Wi-Fi so you can send pictures as soon as you take them. The 30x zoom is clear. You can take video but I haven't tried that feature yet. I recommend this little gem to anyone as it is so easy to use. All in all I would purchase this again.

I love the camera its a good quality, but the packege comes whithout a usb cable. Luckely i have the old usb cable from anather powershot with its fit, but I'm disappointed. the box was unfolded before. otherwise takes good picture, amazing zoom. And I will remain a canon powershot fan.

Just got back from Kenya/Tanzania, and could not have been more pleased with how this camera performed. Actually had all the folks with the very expensive DSL cameras jealous with the quality of photos I got with the Powershot's 50x zoom - crystal clear! Individual hairs of a lion's fur....got it.Individual teeth in a hippo's mouth....no problem.Rich colors of a sunset....yup.Switch to video without looking up....absolutely.(the VG Laurel DSLR Camera Case was a perfect match for it)

Haven't had the opportunity to explore all the capabilities of the camera, but the "point and shoot" allows me to get straight to the business of taking pictures. Shot thousands of pictures already, mostly nature. But I miss the low-light capability of the SX30.

I just charged up the battery, set the date and time now off to get a 16 memory card. I have a friend that has the same one and it is the best. Compact but you can zoom in on a subject from 200 yards off and get a great picture.

You need this camera in your arsenal of equipment. Stunning photos and capabilities and this camera completes my last purchase. Close-ups and the zoom range will blow you away. Have an XSI with L lenses and this camera beats that. So glad to own it. Shoots RAW as well. It doesn't get any better and I have about 8 cameras.

This camera should be used on the 14 MP setting. I have a professional SLR Cannon and the pictures are about the same when the 510 is used in that setting. This was the clincher for me. The fact the flash has to be manually operated seem awkward at first, but is kinda ol' school and does not take anything from the camera. The video is great. Very clear and excellent quality. Overall, satisfied.

Perfect camera for a new photographer. Does everything a top of the line dslr camera does plus some. Add the Professional Lens and Filter Kit sold on amazon and you truly have everything you need to take profesional looking photos

This product performed as the reviews stated except I cannot synch the camera wireless (yet). I will contact Canon for help. What I am not happy about is Amazon stated if you purchase the camera from them you also receive a 16 gig memory card and case. I did not receive either and notice it was smoke and mirrors when looking back at the order page. All sellers can get feedback except Amazon.com which is interesting. They have dropped a huge notch in my book unless they make good on these items.

Really fun camera comes up with some great shots. Doesn't substitute for a DSLR, don't kid yourself--won't take action shots well, or in low-light. But this is easy to carry, comes up with accurate, vibrant, in-focus shots from all over--I have a lovely photo taken at full extension of a bright cardinal sitting in snow taken last winter that looks great. Great travel camera, as well as for other uses. It's limitation for travel purposes is that it won't fit in your pocket, but it's still easy to carry and will get you a range of cameras that only a few cameras can pull off well.

I am not a professional photographer, so this camera definitely suits my needs. I owned a Canon digital once before, and it took glorious shots. Well, this one does the same thing. The zoom is more than adequate for my needs and allows me to zero right in on my subject. I have not yet used the video, but am anxious to do so when an opportunity arises. The strap is a dickens to put on, though, but I managed it. Yes, I like this camera very much!

I purchased this camera after reading reviews from a very well known birder. I'm astounded at the quality of shots I can get of birds at the feeders while I'm inside the house. The zoom capabilities are extraordinary. It is easy to use. Love it!

I own 12 cameras. I teach photography to middle school students and find this camera to be the easiest for my students to learn the basics and enjoy all the functions. For the price you are getting an excellent camera with an incredible zoom.

I have a canon DSLR and have had several way back to using film and recording settings in a notebook. Was looking for a small, take along camera but one that had some flexibility in settings. This one is perfect. Gives you many options for auto settings as well as manual mode. I'm fairly sure that except for the ability to change lenses, it is far more capable then my DSLR. Very happy with this purchase.

This camera I selected for my wife in her birthday. They love it since she saw it. There are too many types of easy options for pictures that no need to be an expert to perform. The low light pictures are very good as well as the zoom.

In reading a review about a Canon PowerShot, we are buying as a present, there were numerous complaints about not receiving a 16G card and bag. This is also true for the Nikon D5200 we purchased 18 Dec 13. Neither item was present. When I questioned the shipper they had no knowledge of the promotion and stated my problem was with Amazon.The camera is great, somewhat disappointed in Amazon.

Just got it today. I was worried about shutter speed but his thing is as responsive as my Canon DSLR. It looks likes a mini-me of it too. Has manual mode, fish-eye and killer, killer zoom!!! Plus records Full HD with wi-fi! Awesome! Get it.

I bought this to replace my decade old 2.3 MP compact, and the difference is amazing. The photos are gorgeous. There are plenty of settings, but you can use it on auto just fine. It is lightweight and is perfect for my needs.

Much has been said about the picture quality of the sx50 which I can confirm in my limited use. From iso 80 to 1600 the results are quite amazing for a small sensor camera. Perhaps more amazing is the sharpness and clarity at full zoom, i.e. 1200mm equivalent. What is phenomenal is the ability to get sharp results handheld at this focal length!In my experience the sx50 evf, despite its dire specifications, is actually quite usable after adjusting the adjacent diopter wheel, and is invaluable in bright conditions.

Christmas purchase for Hubby and he loves it!!, especially the Wi-Fi capability and rechargeable battery! With his previous camera, he had to replace batteries after taking a FEW pictures, which was annoying and costly, so it's great to have an awesome camera with a rechargeable battery. The camera takes excellent pictures and video and is very easy to use. Highly recommended!!

I have always had Nikons but wanted a bridge camera. This one fit the bill. Many differences in operating the camera from Nikon to Canon. My biggest complaint about the camera is that you need to grip the camera on the right side. All the controls are on the right side. Therefore I am constantly hitting something. That is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The lens on the camera is fantastic. Also wish the flash would have a dedicated pop up button, instead you have to manually open the flash

I'm a rookie to photography. I debated on on the latest Lumix superzoom vs. the SX50 for months but pulled the trigger on the SX50. The camera is incredibly easy to operate in any mode and i'm just touching the surface of what you can do with this thing. I like the fact i don't have to carry around different lenses and all that mess either. Do yourself a favor and get a tripod while your ordering. When you zoom this baby in all the way it will be a little jumpy, the tripod takes care of that.

You cannot beat this camera for the price. The zoom lense is out of this world, but when you go out to 100 or 200x you better have it on a tripod. I took zoomed pictures of the moon and that was all you could see. Like looking through a telescope. 50x and lower and the quality of the shots are crisp and clear. I have seen pictures taken by cameras that cost $5000 or more and there was not a whole lot of difference in quality. In some cases this camera takes better pictures than the expensive ones. It is easy to use and fast. It automatically will switch between far off or micro shots wish is nice. I use this camera for personal use (animals, flowers, nature, vacations) and for work (surveillance/investigations) and it is perfect for both without breaking the bank. The other great item to consider is if you drop it, it breaks, is stolen, etc.---you are not out of a lot a money. Pick up another and keep going. By the way the video and sound is impressive too along with the image stabilizer.

I bought this camera because of it's highly rated reviews and because of the 50x zoom. I previously owned a Fuji HS20EXR bridge camera and it worked very well for me. I used it (Fuji)on a lot of concerts and lakers/clippers games. I also used it on some of our trips and It took a lot of wonderful landscape shots. I am a huge Canon fan and I am on my 2nd Canon SLR camera and I own some pretty decent canon lens. But I really don't get the hype about the SX50. It is very slow to focus, performs poorly in low light conditions and I get a lot of blurry images. I am selling my SX50 and a Fuji HS50EXR is already on its way. I still love Canon but will definitely stay away from its SX bridge camera series.
