Mine didn't come with the usb a/usb b cable...How stupid is that not to include all the needed cables...come 'on amazon and samsung, get with the program. How the H*** was I supposed to know I needed to shell out another $20 bucks for a stupid cable that should be included. BOO!

If you're looking for a black & white printer that offers superior text printing and for an incredibly low price, then this is it. Don't look no further, done deal. Feel free to read full, technical reviews of this product on PCWorld.com and PCMagazine.com.Pros:1. excellent text printing2. compact design3. very pleasant appearance (white with grey)4. installation incredibly fast and easy (from setup to first page printing was about 10 minutes), BUT that's because I already had a USB cable which is not provided with this printer5. low price6. 1200 x 1200 dpiCons:1. system is noisy when it's powering up (was taken aback a little bit when I first juiced it up as my previous printer was an HP inkjet which was quiet as a mouse), this noise level lasts for a very short time and found it to be trivial2. USB cable not provided (1/2 star deduction)3. user's guide not provided, you have to download the 200 pages (1/2 star deduction)I have yet to print any graphs so I can't say anything about that. But then again, I did not buy this printer for that purpose.

Great delivery, great price...but no warning anywhere that you need to purchase a USB cable separately. I lost my enthusiasm for this product as I drove to a less than convenient computer store just to get the printer working.

Good quality and easy to install like the other Samsung toner series, but it's a little too expensive! Hope that they would lower the price. I only had one choice because it's the only toner for my printer.

I have recently bought the Samsung ML-2250 laser printer and it is wonderful.A very functional and easy to set up printer, it works great with my Apple mac. It also works fine and is compatible with Linux and WIndows.As I say, it works brilliantly with my Mac. Presently, I have the printer connected to a WIFI base station (an Apple Airport Extreme express) via the printer USB port. My notebook connects to this wifi network and prints over the air. Just magic. I can print from anywhere in my house without wires.The Samsung ML-2250 printer is highly reconmmended..... and so is the Apple G4 iBook running Mac OSX. They are great partners.

My HP Laserjet 4 finally died, and I spent several days looking at laser printers. Now that I've had this one for a couple months, I'm convinced I made the right choice. It's a great printer at a great price! It holds a huge amount of paper - 500 sheets at once. I've fed thick card stock and cover stock through it, and envelopes/labels load and print with no problems. Many of the inexpensive laser printers feel cheap and flimsy - this one feels substantial, much more like my HP than most of the lasers on the market. One feature I really love is the "reprint" button- press it, and it prints another copy of the page you printed last. Why don't all printers do this? It prints a lot faster than my old HP - plenty fast enough for a small office environment. The toner cartridge includes the drum - very important, as many of the cheaper printers have a separate drum which must be replaced with every few toners, sometimes for almost as much as the printer cost! The included starter cartridge is good for only 3000 pages at 5% rated coverage (less than that in real life), but considering how cheap the printer is I still think it's a bargain that they include a cartridge at all. The regular cartridge is rated for 6000 pages. Compare this to an inkjet (where they basically give the printer away to sell you overpriced ink cartridges for the rest of your life) and I can't see why anyone wouldn't buy a laser. This one has the right combination of features and a great price - highly recommended!

After a year with this printer the envelope feed no longer works. Attempts to find information on the site bring offers to advertise more Samsung products. This product may still be on the market, but it is not worth what it costs. The new cartridges, furthermore, are outrageously expensive. (We have had the Samsung for 1.5 cartridges, as we do a modest amount of printing.) It worked well in the beginning, but not we will either need to repair it or buy a new one. Not cheap at this rate.

This printer needs extra memory to print in 1200x1200dpi, and it needs an extra PostScript Simm to use PostScript capabilities, this you find out after reading carefully the instructions. This if you use a PC, because if you have a Mac, neither those option will work. So i guess what is printed in the specifications does not match the real printer capabilities. I am sorry Samsung, but for me this printer was a great dissapointment. A mistery for me is how it is possible that a new toner cartridge is costs 60% the printer's price ? ( at least where i live ). I sold this printer and now i have a HP-1015, just great.

Although the specs don't show that this works with the Samsung ML-1430 printer it does. The ML-1210D3 toner cartridge is Genuine Samsung and new and works great. It works for printers ML-1010, ML-1430, ML-1020M, ML-1210, ML-1220M, ML-1250, IZZI Lasor plus II.Amazon was great in that the shipment was timely and the charge did not show on my charge card until I received the product. And I got free shipping with I believe 'Super Saver' by Amazon.

The plus side:1. Excellent value for money. The Samsung ML-1450 is the cheapest printer that you can get in its class... Cheap memory upgrade. 4MB is more than sufficient for an average person printing work. If you want to install Post-Script you need to buy at least 1x8 MB EDO RAM, 72 pin, 60 ns, SIMM (Single in Line Memory Module), non parity stick. ML-1450 has built in 4 Mb RAM and to run Post-Script you need 12 MB of RAM. I bought 1 stick of IBM Single sided 16 MB EDO RAM ...(I haven't try the double sided RAM). If you buy a pair it will be cheaper, but ML-1450 only has 1 slot for EDO stick.3. Huge tray capacity that can fit 550 pages of A4 size paper. Plus another 100 pages of A4 size paper that you can put on the multipurpose tray. You can also put envelope, letter size paper in this tray.4.Great software from Samsung. You can print water mark, outlays and multiple pages on 1 paper (up until 16 pages/slides on 1 paper).5.Easy to setup and networkable. You need to buy USB Hub to use this printer as a network printer. It is cheaper than to buy the ThruPort (Optional 10/100MB base card) from Samsung.The negative side:1.It doesn't come with printed manual, Samsung only provide you with the PDF format of the Manual. With this price, I cannot blame them for trying to cut their cost.2. Finding the right memory for the upgrade is a bit tricky because this type of memory is only used for the old Pentium computers. I suggest you try your local computer flee Market or eBay. You don't need 2 sticks for the upgrade, however the old Pentium motherboard only accept even number of stick in order to work. You will probably have to buy 2 sticks from the seller.3. I have never used Samsung Laser printer before, I cannot say anything about its reliability in the long run. However, Samsung Australia offers free 3 years on-site warranty for this model and the ML-1650N, which is a great bonus for me.

I believe this is the fourth laser printer that I have owned and the ONLY one that I have had such problems with. I've just owned it a few weeks and will be returning it this week to Amazon.1. I am using it with a Mac and OS X 10.2.2. The printer decides when it is in the mood to print. Many times it will decide to stop the printing queue for no reason and I have to restart the computer (sometimes many times) to get it to decide to print again. Tech support at Samsung has no idea why this is the case.3. The first sheet prints fine (when it decides to print) but the second copy (or third or fourth etc.) OR pages 2+ of any document print about a half inch lower on the paper. This is VERY consistent. I have had to print each page separately. It took me 4 hours to print 10 copies of a 14 page document one night for a presentation the next day. Fun! Tech support had no solutions.4. Which leads me to the next problem...IT IS VERY VERY SLOW! Again, I have had 3 or 4 previous laser printers and they were relatively fast compared to ink jets etc. This printer's speed is comparable to an average ink jet printer. Much too slow for a laser.5. Also, the ink seems to smudge easily even days after being printed. It seems very chalky to me. Not very good adherence.Other than these items, Mrs. Lincoln, how is the printer? You decide!

I have had my ML-1210 printer for over a year now. I am an insurance appraiser/investigator and print over 4000 pages a month. The printer has performed flawlessly. This was the best investment of $$$$$ I could have made. The toner/drum is (with a little work) refillable with Okidata refill cartridges. I replace the cartridge at about 20,000 pages....Still the price for the drum here at Amazon is $$$$ less than elsewhere. I am looking to upgrade to the ML-1710 soon but will hate to part with this one.....

I wrote to Samsung tech support inquiring about why I couldn't set my printer to 1200 dpi. In the printer driver settings, you can only choose '300 dpi', '600 dpi', and '1200 dpi (class)'. When set to '1200 dpi (class)', the SRT Mode settings become enabled, and you can choose between 'Text Enhance' and 'ImageEnhance'. With the printer set to '1200 dpi (class)', the configuration sheet printout says 'QUALITY=600'. Samsung tech support responded with:"This is capable of 1200 dpi if you add the PostScript Module.Please call our Accessories Department for supplies."I wrote back, stating that every bit of my research into this printer prior to purchase indicated that this was a true 1200 dpi printer, plain and simple, without qualification. To which they responded:"After Review our Legal Department has comfirmed that the statement 'Capable of 1200dpi' is the key phrase and further more it is stated that the options include, extra 2ndary paper trays, EDO memory and PS modules."Confusing.Otherwise, a very good 600 dpi printer.

Okay, I don't have one of these but I want to buy one! I've been comparing it to the 1200se and it seems to win hands down -- it holds twice as much paper, prints 30 percent faster, the toner is slightly cheaper per page and it has a "toner saver" feature that stretches a toner cartidge about 40 percent longer. Sounds great, right? Plus, in several reviews I've read both printers get the same high ratings on print quality and reliability. However, as of 11-18-02 Samsung is saying (and I quote!) "There is a 50/50 chance that it [that is, the older OS X drivers] will work on OSX.2, the driver for the OSX.2 will be out next monht." Now, I would think the tech guys at Samsung could afford to buy one G4, install Jaguar and know 100 percent if the older OS X drivers would work. But at least they got back to me right away while I'm still waiting for HP to respond. There is an open source project for OSX printer drivers called GIMP, but currently no support for this Samsung as far as I can tell. So while this is a great printer (and I was planning to get the Postscript upgrade and some extra memory) for the price, OS X 10.2 users should check availability of working drivers before buying. For what it's worth, I don't know that I will buy this and HOPE Samsung delivers when they say they will. Another month longer for them is no big deal (I guess), but for me, with a printer that I can only use in Classic, it would be a serious drag.

I have a Samsung ML-1430 (great little printer) and this toner cartridge was easy to install and it works as expected. Samsung isn't a big name in laser printers, so replacement cartridges aren't as readily available in local stores as it is for HP and some of the more established brands so, once again, it's Amazon to the rescue.

Lexmark must have sold this printer to Samsung. I noticed a Samsung ML-1430 at Best Buy and it looked exactly like my *Lexmark E210 (*no longer available from Lexmark), so I thought I would take a chance to see if the Samsung toner cartridge would work, I ordered one here. This Samsung Toner Cartridge is far superior to Lexmarks version, I noticed big improvements in both text and graphics immediatly, needless to say I am pleased and will be reordering this item. BTW: The Lexmark version of this toner is selling for about $81.00 at Office Depot.

Got one two weeks ago for [money]. I was expecting 4MB of memory, but what a joy it was to realize that the unit came with 12MB of memory! What a cinch to install! I have not yet had any reason to reinstall any of the drivers that came with the CD. I've got two computers within close proximity, so have both of them hooked to the printer: one by USB cable, and one by parallel cable. I can print fine from both computers under this setup. I tried the n-up printing provided by the Samsung driver and that was pretty impressive. I print a lot of codes, so to be able to print 2 (or up to 16) pages per side really comes in handy! Printing speed from scratch is very fast and I find the "reprint" button very useful as well. With that button, you don't need to reissue the same print request from your application; just press the button, and the machines spits out the same pages it last printed! It's been a while since a product has wow'ed me, but this one definitely is a wow'er.

Here is some crucial information for anyone contemplating paying for this machine:1) owner's manual and Samsung site are horrible so research has to be done to figure out some crucial specs. You have to download the manual as PDF because there is NO hardcopy manual. 2) Memory module to get is 72 pin EDO which places upgrading the memory very [inexpensive];3) For Mac users -- It does not naturally support Postscript without an additional PostScript SIMM whose part # is ML6060XAXAA and as of this time sets you back... If you are comfortable with PCL 6 emulation then maybe this expense is not necessary. IF you are going to get the PS SIMM be aware that you need to upgrade the memory to at least 16MB which is about another... The PS support is level 3.4) Samsung is good about providing drivers so all Windows, DOS, Mac and Linux people are not left hanging. 5) Toner... The VERY necessary part # is ML-6060D6. This will get you another 6,000 pages of print. It is an integrated toner and drum set up so you are getting a nice switch out.For the PC person this is a great printer but the MAC user needs to be very cognizant of what their trade-offs are. If you are only planning to do black and white, predominately text then this may suit but for the graphics person this is not the best at all.I will update this the more I play with it.

I received the printer about a month ago and it was easy to setup, the printing clarity is excellent. I use the USB port and it prints very quickly, I definitely recommend using this port over the parallel port. The paper loader is just like the more expensive laser printers feeds well and holds a good number of pages. The paper loader was always a pet peeve in the past, they never held enough or fed correctly.

For those of you that are surprised how quickly you have to replace the first toner cartridge, don't be. The cartridge that ships with the ML-1430 is only a 1000 capacity unit. This is one of the reasons that this printer is so inexpensive.For the price of the replacement cart., you should get a unit that lasts roughly 2.5 times as long as the initial cartridge. Overall, much cheaper ink than ink jets.

3500 pages with this cartridge and closer to 4500 with toner save on. Although it isn't in the description, this cartiridge is the replacement for the newer Samsung model ML-1430 laser printer. And Amazon.com has the best price on the web for this product. I have tried and failed to find it for less.

This printer, Samsung ML-1450, is amazing. It is fast, reliable, and economical. ...I like the huge paper tray that holds about 550 pages. It is quiet during the printing process. The package includes the printer, 1 CD (Manual + Drivers), a power cord (no printer cable or USB cable is included). I also like its "Toner Save" button which gives almost the same printing quality as normal mode. So far, I do not have any problems with this printer.

The reason I choose the Samsung ... is that the Samsung has 4Mb of RAM standard, and PCL6 printer language support vs. 2MB RAM...I recommend downloading the user's manual in PDF format ...before you purchase... I think it is worth the extra money for a flat tray for two reasons: higher capacity and much less susceptibility to jamming.

It was time to replace my HP Laserjet III, and after some looking around it became apparent that Samsung and Brother are more competitive than HP in the low end personal laser market. I chose the Samsung and am very pleased with the choice. The Samsung provides great output (1200 x 1200 DPI), is fast, is networkable, and you can expand the memory to do complex printing. I miss the heavy construction of the HP, but the Samsung is a good product for the money...

Printer works ok, but ours was shipped broken and we had to ask for a replacement. That nonsense took 2 weeks. Now the toner cartridge is almost empty after only a month of use and - guess what? Nobody stocks the cartridges except here at Amazon. And they're over $60. OUCH! Guess we bought the WRONG printer.

I am still using this printer almost 10 years later !!!I can't believe it. For 5 of those years, it was used all day long in my office. Sure got my monies worth on this printer. Very cool ~

It took me a while to make a decision regarding replacing my old laser printer. I knew I wanted to stay away from low-end HP laser printers....I have had this printer for a week. The low price was attractive. With some of the money I saved, I purchased an extended warranty with full replacement. The print quality is comparable to other more expensive laser printers. It has more features than HP printers that are twice the price. Toner cartridges are still difficult to find. The big unknown about this printer is long-term reliability....I decided that an extended warranty is a sound option.
