Bought this printer/scanner hoping it to be the fix for all the problems that come with the windows 7 upgrade. I am pleased with the outcome at this point. The set up for printing was relativly simple, the scanner portion was slightly more difficult. It required I download the driver and install it before it worked. Now it is like clock work. Connected to the Wi-Fi with dynamic IP it works excellent. It also has an App for Android operating phones to print to. If you use the full version of documents-to-go you can save to Google docs and print/scan anything. I took the advice to use the toner saver option and it looks good. The relativly simple install instructions could be beter, it assumes you know a little more than expected about computers to set up. For the money, I don't have any "Cons" for this item, fast, cheap total home office solution for a all in one item.

This is a great printer. It's small and compact, prints fast and clear, and operates quietly. The only issue I'm having is that it goes to sleep and won't wake up. Only have it set up wireless, so maybe hooking up the USB will help, but I haven't gotten this issue resolved. I even wrote a simple batch file to ping the printer every few minutes hoping that would keep it awake, but no.

Don't buy this.It may be a good printer but you'll never know if it won't install.I've spent three hours already trying to get it working with Apple OS X and I can't get it to work. I'm a certified Apple developer so I have some idea what I'm doing.Samsung's Installation Software is useless...Ugh!

I was excited to have my wife open this gift today, but when I tried to set it up I found the paper tray was cocked and jammed. Samsung customer support said the best they could do was to have me take it to a repair shop. They suggested that the external damage was probably accompanied by more significant internal damage. I have start the process to return the product, and hope that my wife can get her gift soon.

I ordered an ML-1865W printer from a seller whose shipment was fulfilled by Amazon. I paid extra to have the item the next day. Amazon shipped me an ML-1865.In the future, if Amazon.com isn't the seller, I'm not buying. I bought from another online retail site with guaranteed 3 day free shipping.If you buy one of these, make sure to inspect the box before you tear up all the packing materials. The front of my box said ML-1865. The original ML-1865 barcode had been partially covered by a new barcode which read ML-1865W. And seriously consider only buying from Amazon.com as the seller. I wasted two days because Amazon.com didn't bother to check the label on the printer they shipped me.

I use this printer daily for printing invoices and shipping documents for 3 years or more now, only had a paper jam twice caused by feeding back a black sheet at the top of the stack. Overall am very happy with the printer for what it costs.

Printer works great. No regrets. Like the WiFi capability so that the printer doesn't have to be attached to a PC or to a Print Server. One thing to know: There is a CD that is used to install the software on your PC and to configure the printer. If your computer doesn't have a CD drive, then you may be out of luck. Maybe there might be a way to download the programs from Samsung's website if you don't have a CD drive, because you need to use a Samsung program on your PC (when it's physically connected to the printer) to enter the WPA2 access code for your WiFi network...you don't enter the code directly into the printer. After you enter the code, then you can disconnect the printer and use the WiFi connection. One other thing, you can go into the printer properties and specify that you want to save on toner. Others have reported that it will eat toner pretty fast if you don't, so the first thing I did was to use the "toner save" option. The printing still looks real good even when saving toner.

This is my second printer of the same model ML-2545. I have another Samsung Laser printer ML-2510 which is also working well for last 5+ years. My old ML-2010 broke which I have replaced with this ML-2545. Only problem I have that the Ink Cartridge of 2510 does not go in 2545. The 2510 and 2010 used the same model cartridge. I wish Samsung made all the low end similar printers use the same model ink cartridge.

Got an error #2 after 6 months. I read this meant it's a fuser error.We didn't work it that hard. We were very gentle w/ it, so not sure why we would get such an error.Ended up replacing w/ a different brand.On the plus side, it did do good quality scans.

I was tired of spending a ton of money on ink cartridges and/or refills. The cost per page was ridiculous. With a laser printer and toner refills it can greatly reduce these costs. 1500 pages on a toner refill and that only costs $15. That is cheap. It used to be laser printers were expensive. Not any more. Printer comes with USB cable, power cable and installation CD. Easy to install with laptop connected. Once you have the wireless set up then disconnect the USB and relocate the printer to where you want it. Initial setup took me about 5 min. Installation on the other laptop took about 2 minutes. Very easy once you set it up.

I bought a refurbished one, and it works just as fine as a new one!!! have been using this printer for almost two weeks. I am not a heavy user, usually print out 5-10 pages a day, and so far it has been a perfect fit.Not sure how long it will last, but so far it has been great, and it print fast!!!! I used to own a inkjet, and laser printer print way faster than inkjet printers!!!!The toner that came with mine seems to have a 1500 page capacity, not sure if it's the regular capacity, but i think it is good enough for my light use, and the 1500 pages only makes this already cheap printer better.I'm very satisfied with this printer and thank you Amazon!

Does not print wirelessly with Apple. I followed their directions for Apple, verbatim, then spent 2 hours on the phone with Samsung...two different Level 1 reps, then got a Level 2 rep. He finally just gave up. Still worth the money, just don't expect wireless with an Apple.

Great purchase! Easy install except we haven't been able to hook up the wifi yet but I am sure if we sit down and focus we could figure it out otherwise the quality of print is great and 100 times better AND cheaper than inkjet! Have had it for 3 months now and we just barely finished the starter cartridge it came with and we print regularly. My daughter runs a tutoring business and is always printing worksheets. The cartridge we bought was 46 dollars but compared to inkjet cartridges it was well worth the buy. Also, the quality and clarity of print was A+ !

This printer is amazing. Easy setup, and it just works. I had my wireless settings configured, and installed the software on all my three computers within 30 minutes. It just works.The print quality, I use the cheapest mode (toner saver) and the quality is great.The best thing about this printer, it is small. The printer fits easily on a shelf.I recommend this product.

needed a printer cartridge for god-daughter who is going to school on-line. She prints out two to four book chapters every week and this 700 pg ink cartridge seems to be working great, so far. All copies are clear and seems to have good ink control.it is hard to find a cartridge that works longterm under heavy printing use.Company delivered ahead of time with no problem. Will use them again.I love Amazon; delivers products on time, solves any problems i have had in a timely and courteous manner.

I was happy for the first week until the printer stopped taking my envelopes for printing. I was just getting used to not doing it by hand! Just after I finished my first toner cartridge It stopped feeding the paper and would give me a loud electronic noise. If I take the whole thing apart and turn it off then reassemble it and make sure the paper tray is FULL then it will work a while before breaking again. Needless to say I'm disappointed.

First off, I purchased my toner cartridge through Inkers, something I feel is important to note as you not only have a wide choice of retailers, but a wide choice in the quality of the cartridges.That out of the way, I can only say: this re-manufactured cartridge is significantly better than the OEM Samsung I bought not more than 6 months before.Consistent print quality after approximately 100 printed pages is a definite positive. As is saving anywhere from $40 to $60 over the OEM, which I actually suspect will fall far short of this one in more than that regard.I see no problems with this cartridge. If you need one, buy one. This one. You will not be sorry.

This printer broke a few months after I received it. I called Samsung and they directed me to a 3rd party service center that would fix it under the 1 year warranty. They've replaced 3 or 4 parts and it still won't work so they're replacing the entire printer. I've been without my printer for 3 months while the service center goes back and forth with Samsung. Maybe I just got a bad unit, but my experience has been horrible so I thought I'd share it with prospective buyers. I'd look into alternative printers if I were you.

Don't waste your money on this printer regardless of the deal you are offered, especially if you are a Mac user. It doesn't work wirelessly, and the installation process should be used as a test for a person's sanity. The printing quality is poor and the paper comes ridged with three deep lines after passing through the printer. Cheap, useless and very poor quality product.

I got the printer last week, and it has been working quite well. Fast to set up, and it prints nicely.I got around to setting up wireless today though, and hit a snag. The built-in driver kept getting an "invalid security" error message when trying to authenticate on my network. After trying everything with my router, I found another review here saying to set the IP up as static, then connect an Ethernet cable directly to the printer. Magic! I was able to configure the wireless settings through the web management portal using the previously set static IP.After that, I disconnected the cable and everything was good. I'd rate this five stars if I didn't have to spend a few hours of my time troubleshooting why the wireless setup didn't work.I even found an Android app, "Samsung MobilePrint" that lets me print directly from Android by WiFi.

Bought it 3 months ago. Used it gently. Since 1 week the red light was flashing to replace the toner. I bought a brand new toner cartridge and replaced it. Then it started showing an error to load paper. I called Samsung and troubleshot with the Techs and they asked me to take it to their designated repair shop. Ended up in a veryyyyy shoddy eletronic store. They said it will take 2-3 weeks to repair. Samsung, never again. 3 months ???

I went over a year without a printer having to e-mail myself anything I wanted to print. Or when I did have a printer I would have to move the documents to the computer with the printer with this wireless printer I am able to print from any computer that I have installed the software on. So convienet. I can be on my laptop in my bedroom and print something off that I will need in the morning and can grab it off the pinter in the morning without having to go downstairs to print what I need.

After spending hours on the phone/online with Samsung customer "service" I've learned that the latest firmware is irreversible and makes it so that you are required to buy Samsung Genuine Toners.The firmware does not state that you'll only be able to use Samsung Genuine Toners and I firmly believe they are in the wrong if not for the fact that they're pretty blatantly breaking the First Sale Doctrine.They refuse to admit wrong doing, avoid actually responding to any complaints and have consistently shown that they don't care that they essentially locked down their printers.My issue isn't buying Samsung Genuine toners, it is the fact that they are requiring it without even so much as an announcement. Also saying it is standard practice is not true, because there are plenty of printer companies that will let you use the toner you choose for your printer.After hours on the phone and online with Samsung, their extremely apathetic responses are why I will never recommend Samsung to anyone else and have decided to report them to the BBB.I realize reviews/BBB/complaints against a company as big as Samsung are a drop in the bucket, but enough drops leads to an overflowing bucket.If only we could give them zero stars. You get nothing Samsung, no money from ink cartridges, no future TV purchases; the only thing you get is the knowledge that you're pissing people off by locking your products via firmware.

I just bought this product.And I read installation manual carefully. And what I did was just to click next buttons on a setup program. And it was automatically set up.My home computers are all windows 7 based and I'm using a 802.11g wireless router. And there was no problem at all on installation.One thing I like about this product is a short wake up time. I expected some amount of time to warm up but it was pretty quick. So it's not necessary to wait.If I find anything different than I will add or modify to this.

If you're having trouble with setting up the wireless on your Mac, read this:First, run the software that comes with the printer to set up the wireless settings on your printer. Then go into System Preferences > Print & Fax, then add a printer by clicking on the "+" button on the bottom left of the printers list. It should show up as Samsung ML-1865W Series and should say "Bonjour" under "Kind". Click Add and your done! You now have a wireless printer working with your Mac.Running Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8 on Late 2009 Macbook

I already own a Samsung ML-2525 laser B&W printer, and have been completely happy with it. Since my first laser printer 15 or more years ago, laser printers have come a long way. This unit takes only 9 seconds to print thefirst item after being turned on. No more long waits, choking fumes, and loud noises. The purchase of the ML-2525W wireless version is simply a change to use the unit in a more flexible way. I only need B&W printing, and this unit has completely fulfilled my requirements.

Like many other reviewers on MANY websites, I too had extreme difficulty getting this printer to work. For a while I could print more than one page by pulling the USB cable out and quickly shoving it back in -for EACH PAGE PRINTED. This is no way to be productive, and I bought this printer exclusively for work. That stopped working, and I finally gave up after I spent more than 1 hour with Samsung support chat. Worked fine with old Macbook, upgraded computer and nothing is compatible, Can't load drivers or Smart Panel and with no service reputation of Samsung, doubtful that software issues will ever be addressed. It is on its way to the dump. Thank you Samsung.

This item has the option of choosing different sellers, and from other reviews it appears that some sellers are not reliable. The seller that appears "up front" changes.I ordered this from Triplenet Pricing LLC and I received the genuine Samsung cartridge in its Samsung packaging. I tried a couple "compatible" cartridges, but I found the quality lower and they only lasted half or 1/3 as long as the Samsung cartridge. So I'm returning to the genuine article--my printouts are now more readable, and the cartridge will last longer.

I really hate to write a negative review - in fact this is the first negative review I ever wrote - but two printers later and nearly BURNING THE OFFICE DOWN pushed me over the edge.This printer has high potential, it has many wonderful features but it means nothing when most of my day was spent on clearing/fixing paper jams, random clicking and constant errors. A little background about myself: I'm a mechanical engineer, software programmer, and a former IT. I have extended knowledge of networks and computers, so please understand that my frustration does not come from ignorance. As an engineer I respect Samsung for their time and efforts of designing the printer - I understand that a lot of time is sacrificed even on a `crappy' product. It seems that the ideas worked really well on paper - a feature packed printer for an affordable price - but perhaps somewhere along the process their budget was shorted, or quality management failed as so many corners ware cut short.Anyway, I purchased this printer for my office, it's a small office with a five person network. As I had good experience with Samsung brand equipment before, I decided that this multifunction printer will be adequate. As the printer just hit the market, most of review ware positive and promising. The network installation took me 1.5 minutes and was straight forward; it sent fax, it scanned and it printed - perfect! What else would I need out of a printer?... reliability maybe!Although it had many good features, the reliability was less than ideal. I soon discovered that most of the features ware really half baked. The network printing itself was solid, but network scanning and faxing worked half of the time... it usually took a restart of the printer to get it working again, and restarting became a normal office phenomenon.The most unfortunate part of the printer is the paper tray feeder, it jammed daily, to the point where I would spend more time fixing the jams than working. Most jam would happen while printing in color, for some reason the paper would catch on some under-engineered piece of plastic and fold in like an accordion, leaving a nasty half baked goo on the rollers. Soon the printer would leave really nasty stains and smudges on the paper because of the dirty rollers. The quality became unacceptable and cleaning the rollers would mean disassembling the printer which I would not about to do.The toner cartridge also developed a problem. Although the change of the toner is as simple as it can be, the design, size and price is not ideal. They are very high priced for amount of toner they posses, on average, the toner would last me less than 500 pages which is way less than advertised, and at $60 a pop, toners became a big expense. I believe that faulty printer drivers are also to blame, with every toner change the overflow container would be full, meaning that half of my toner went to waste! Also, for some reason the toners would slightly pop out of the holder and the sprocket wheels would start sliding and damaging the printer and the cartridge. It got to the point where I had to insert a paper clip to hold the black toner in place.Convinced that my printer was a lemon, I took it back to the store for replacement. As I purchased extended warranty (and I'm glad I did) I received a brand new replacement (the same model). Hoping that my troubles ware over, I soon found myself in the same position as before. The toner started making loud clicking noises right after installation, and paper jams started soon after. The only difference was no smudging (yet).The last straw came less than a week after receiving the new printer. While receiving a fax, the printer jammed and froze! Immediately it started spewing black smoke as it COUGHT ON FIRE!!!! I opened the printer to discover that two sheets of paper jammed on the `iron' roller. I'm really glad that I was in the office at the time, as if this happened at night it could potentially burn the whole office down! I did not believe that this was possible to happen. Nevertheless, I was able to return the printer for a full refund under warranty, but the whole experience really scarred my image of Samsung, I'm really disappointed at this printer and at Samsung. Unfortunately this review might cut into Samsung's profits, but I hope they will learn not to cut corners in the future and not to release under-developed and potentially dangerous printers. I eventually purchased a Brother MFC-9440CN as an replacement and I'm very happy with it. Not a single problem yet!So, on the final note - would I recommend this printer to anyone? Absolutely not, not worth the hassle and potential life devastation!------------------------- EDIT 07/16/08 ------------------------------------So I had the Brother MFC-9440CN since I originally posted the review, and not a single issue yet! not even a single paper jam. Am loving this printer. For a techtard like myself, it's fairly easy to intuit how to use the device.Wanna scan? Press the scan button, put your document face down on the glass, press the "Start" button,and the document magically appears on your computer's desktop!What I would like to warn folks about is that this printer came with absolutely NO USB CONNECTOR CABLE. Howmoronic is it to sell someone a printer with no means to use it? So be prepared for a trip to your local radio shack to spend an additional $25.00 on a USB cable (this printer model is not wireless) if you want to do more than just use the device for copying.Other than that, thumbs up for this product!

I recieved my printer and love it. It was easy to setup. I bought it for my daughter to print homework/research stuff for school, etc. I wish I knew about monochrome printers before because my colored printer ink finished very quickly and was expensive. This printer is just what I needed. I love Samsung products, I never had a problem with my Samsung electronic devices.

After being totally frustrated with this printer and its issues of going to sleep after 1 job (after that would have to turn off/on, and/or unplug/plug), looking online, spending approximately 2 hour w/Samsung's tech support, I was ready to send this back. Wrote this morning and had been corresponding with the seller, Buy.com, who had agreed to take it back, no problems. I thought I would try one more time, and looked online one last time, and found another Mac user who had had problems, and solved them by hooking printer to computer via ethernet.If you have installed the software from the cd which came with the printer, uninstall as follows. If you have not used the cd, DON'T.1. In system prefs, delete the Samsung from your printers, and all prefs you can find w/Samsung; empty trash.2. I had printer off, and attached an ethernet cable to back of printer port and then to an ethernet port on my Time Capsule.3. Power printer back on. Open System Prefs>Print/Fax> click + and let it find the Samsung. Most importantly, when it does, it will ask if you want the latest download from APPLE! (Had not had that option before and had downloaded softward from Samsung twice, and didn't work)So far, working seamlessly, staying on, and no complaints. I just tried my laptop, also a Mac, and added the printer and let it ask to download the software from Apple, and it is working perfectly--wirelessly!!!I think it is a great little printer, but think Samsung Tech Support needs some lessons with Mac OS X big time. Here is another example of the convenience of Apple, plug and go. All of the other totally unnecessary, and Samsung should have known that. Apparently this is, and has been, an issue with a lot of people. Just glad I found a solution.

Yes, it does fit and yes it does print. However, the toner cartridge really is horrible. It leaves little bits of toner all over the fuser, so your pages come out spotty and the toner doesn't stick very well to the page. You can smudge it with your finger. Also, if you fold the print out afterwards, it sticks to the other pages, so it very rapidly becomes unreadable.Stay way. This stuff is WAY cheaper than the Samsung toner cartridges, but there is a reason it's so cheap, it is TERRIBLE.

On any printer, I always download the latest driver from the internet. I don't even bother with the install disk. Although the driver was version 1.0, I had it set up in 5 min with my MacBook Pro, and with my wife's PC laptop, both printing wirelessly. I don't know why people are having such an issue. I had a Samsung ML-2510, which was going to be $70 for a new toner cartridge, and it was $59 for this printer at a local retailer, so the decision was easy. Yes, it comes with a 1000 copy starter cartridge, so if you figure the cartridge is worth about $30, I paid about $30 for the printer, but got a new one with wireless capability.UPDATE: Downgraded my review because of the famous "Wi-Fi sleeping problem". Printer works wonderfully except now if it is on for more than 15 minutes the Wi-Fi goes to sleep, and won't "wake up" unless I turn off the printer, turn it on again, and wait a minute or two until it resets with the Wi-Fi. VERY irritating. I have called Samsung about this, and they act like they have never heard of this problem.I will say that I am using it on a Mac, and the problem surfaced after an Apple software update on Snow Leopard. Samsung seems to indicate it is Apple's problem, but there have been multiple software updates from Apple since, and I have upgraded to the latest version of Lion, and the problem persists. Samsung, meanwhile, still has the same software version, so the problem is with Samsung. Apple is too good about software fixes, especially considering that their printer drivers are IN their software. I would give this one star, but since it works perfectly with USB, and I love the small footprint and the fact that paper is stored IN the machine, and lots of it, I'll give it 3 stars. I would bump it back to 5 if Samsung would fix the Wi-Fi issue.Also, my wife has a PC laptop, and the problem with the sleeping affects both Macs and PCs, so the issue is definitely with Samsung.
