I have been looking for a laser multifunction printer for several months. This is a new machine to Amazon and the price was just right. I installed this on my home network and everything went flawlessly. I installed the driver disc on all the computers, and let the menu options auto detect the Samsung. Within minutes, I was printing. This printer warms up fast and prints pages really fast.My home network consists of PC's equipped with the following operating systems: Windows 7 - 64 bit, Vista 64 bit, and Vista home 32 bit.I highly recommend this model. Also holds 250 sheets of paper in the tray. Built in fax, and all kinds of useful features. Get it...you will love it!

I picked this up cheap and sold the wife on the idea that with wireless it will be easy to make it known to any computer in our house AND it would work all the time. Well, I spent the afternoon trying to get it to play ball with my wireless. Yes I run security and maybe it would have went better if I did not. I hooked it to my laptop (which is on the same wireless network I hope to connect the printer to...) via USB and tried and tried and tried to get it to go wireless. I finally gave up and decided to just find a open wired port in our home office and hook it up that way. So I moved it fifteen feet into the office and looked for an open port. I did not have one so I was going to have to do some rearranging. I decided to give it one more chance before I moved my wires around. This time it popped right up on the wireless with no further configuring on my part. It must have a poor antenna in it for that lousy fifteen feet to make that much different. So now my wife is happy because we have a small quiet laser printer that always works when she wants to print something.

I recently purchased a ML-1710 laser toner cartridge from JPQuality and was very unsatisfied with this product. The price was great but the toner received was not, it was in a plastic bag with ink spilled all over. After inserting into my printer, the quality is as bad as the one I replaced. Will not buy from this company again.

Wasn't sure I wanted to keep my Samsung printer so I bought the compatible toner from the seller Inkers for under $26. This is a fabulous deal!!!!!! I wasn't so sure a generic brand would work as well as Samsung brand, but for the price I thought I'd give it a try. Fabulous print quality, maybe even better than the original Samsung one I had. This is not a remanufactured toner, it is a brand new compatible cartridge. LOVE it, no complaints. The seller also shipped super quick.

Tried to get this printer to work with our home network this morning. Gave up after about an hour of trying. I tried all the helpful recommendations made here by other reviewers but called it quits when the printer was unable to print a simple graph directly via my MacBook Pro's USB connection. It seemed to have some kind of wake/sleep issue where it would fall asleep in the middle of a print job while at the same time making loud fan noises like a hairdryer. I was hoping to be able to buy something different from the same old ugly grey HP stuff, but this was not the one for sure.

I had a terrific Samsung printer before, but this one is horrible. It doesn't work in multiple ways. The wireless never set up correctly, it doesn't work well with Macs, the printer needs to be shut off and restarted after printing one document (Samsung is aware of this and has done nothing to fix it) and half the time the printer just starts spewing pages with smeared text in the middle of a print job and you have to race to pull the plug.

The ad-hoc wireless setup was very difficult and non-intuitive to setup and the software interface was very poor and confusing. Once setup it worked for 5 months then the wireless function stopped working. Even the USB connection failed to work sometimes and the printer failed on jobs or started printing pages of gibberish until you unplugged the power cord. I also notice it overheats now. Pure fail.

In the product description, the seller should've included that the product was used/refurbished. I was looking for a brand new item. Judging by the price of the item, I assumed it was a brand new and never used/open item. However, it came in a messy box that was re-taped. I could've gotten a brand new one for around the same price. Before purchasing a product from this seller, always remember to ask if it is brand new, used, or refurbished.

I have been using a Samsung ML-2525W for more than a month now. Wireless setup was extremely easy on my Linux(like most Samsung lasers, the ML-2525W is fully supported on Linux as well) and Windows 7 & XP machines. Like many other Amazon reviewers, I also had problems getting wireless printing to work on my Mac Mini; but eventually figured out how to set it up using Bonjour. This solved the intermittent connectivity problems I was having between my Mac and the ML-2525W, and printing from the Mac has been working very well since. The wireless connectivity is rock solid, and the print quality is excellent. The noise level is very low, and indeed this is probably the quietest printer I ever had. The built-in Web server (SyncThru) is very useful for looking up the toner level, page counters and configuration information quickly. The design is very appealing, and I especially like the fact that Samsung used a fully-enclosed paper tray in this model. This is quite possibly the best wireless mono laser printer in the market now. If you're looking for a fast, quiet and high quality wireless laser printer, look no further.

Was worried about all the comments on the reviews but thought at this price it was worth the risk to try the product. Setup for me was fine. I set it up first on my PC with the USB connected. Then once it had connected to my secured wireless network I was able to unhook the USB and get the PC to find it again. This I think is the key.. get it working with one machine first. (This machine happened to be running XP).I was then able to connect to it using my Mac (actually I have 3 of them, 2 Snow Leopard, 1 Leopard) and then my PC's (2 both running Windows 7).I have not had any issues with jams, lost wireless connectivity, etc.Only issue I have with the printer is that the tray that collects printed documents fills up pretty quickly and you have to clear it so you can do unattended biggish jobs (but hey I guess this printer isn't designed for that!

Just got this out of the box and totally set up in under an hour. I have a Windows 7, 64 bit PC, and the CD included with the printer had everything I needed (no downloads from the Web required). The printer makes very little noise (and much, much less than my prior Panasonic laser printer) and is super fast. And, I've scanned some photos and the resolution was fantatic! The software program is very easy to use. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this multifunction printer. What a bargain!

There's another review just like this. Samsung released a firmware update that prevents non-Samsung toner cartirdges from being used. Customer service denied that there was even a firmware update!Needless to say, this is my last Samsung product!

WiFi: abysmal. Configured several times using the instructions in the manual. Still, computers cannot reach it over wifi. It would work once the first time it was set-up, and then wouldn't work anymore. This behavior happened under both Windows 7 and Linux.Ink: after printing less than 100 pages, the quality of the prints became suddenly unusable - white and washed out. This ink cartridge inside is supposed to have half the capacity of a full one. How come this had almost no ink inside? Oh and by the way, we realized that this model's toner cartridge is incompatible with the ML-2010 (an old printer we used successfully)Jamming: I thought newer printers like this one were supposed to not jam that much? That wasn't the case with this one.What else? I think that pretty much sums our experience with this printer. Very disappointing.

I recently acquired a used Samsung ML-1740 printer which had no paper handling problem but did not produce good print. I decided to take a chance and replace the toner cartridge. Problem solved, the print is now perfect. The cartridge has been in service for about a month and is working fine. So far it has printed approximately 200 pages with no problem.

The printer is yet to be used because it is 110v and it was purchased to be used in Africa with 240v. Most printers these days come with 110-240v power rating to be used all over the world (at least HP printers are) so when purchasing the printer, it was just assumed to be 110-240v because the voltage rating wasn't written on the printer details on Amazon or Samsung's websites.

This printer is fairly inexpensive and is everything I need as I print 10-35 pages daily. I bought this to replace a previous Samsung printer because it worked so well for me. It's quiet, fast, and inexpensive to operate. Ink cartridges are low cost, especiallly ordering online.

This printer was on sale, so I bought it because it was within my budget. The M2525W has performed quite satisfactorily! While it's a bit noisy, it is quite tolerable. I have recommended it to lots of others looking for laser printers. I haven't had to buy a new toner cartridge yet, so that's the only thing I dread about owning this printer. :) Nonetheless, it is an excellent product! Easy setup, easy maintenance, and it works with my Macbook as well!!!!!

Printer arrived much faster than anticipated, was relatively easy to set up. I ran in to a problem when it would not find the network automatically but got right through to tech support. I use Vista 64 Bit, so the test page did not print automatically. They helped me with the whole process and was excellent. I like the large amount of papers it holds. I still have to get used to the lag between me hitting "print" and the machine actually starting the printing process, there is a lag.

This printer was on sale on Amazon so I ordered one. Unpacked it, connected and it worked fine for about 2 weeks.Then it would not 'power on'. So we returned it.In the meantime I decided to look for a wireless printer, which is what I am doing now.I have never had something new 'crap out' so quickly before. Now I know where the refurbs come from. :)

I have had this printer for a year and a half. At about a year I started having the same paper feeder problems as others. It tries twice and cannot pick up the paper for some reason, then gives up and signals a paper jam. You have to pull out all the paper and then put it back in to restart it. It is super annoying and I worry that the motor for the paper feeder is going to burn out, since it is struggling each time, twice, to pick up the paper.

I purchased the Samsung ML-2510 several years ago on Amazon (I think) and it finally ran out of toner. This unit is used at home and does not see much use. I was surprised to find that a new toner cartridge cost more than I paid for the printer. Since I did not want to buy a new printer just to get new toner I chose to try a remanufactured cartridge.This one works as advertised. Crisp, clean copies with no negative issues. Time will tell, but good so far.

Purchased this printer based on other reviews, good price and brand name. This printer is unresponsive after printing less than 10 pages and 7 days of use. Error light illuminates and the remedy in the manual is "contact service representative". Tried printer on 2 different computers. Reset power several times. All other suggestions in manual were followed. Samsung customer support for this is non-existent. Really disappointed with this purchase....

Got this printer for home as a Christmas gift 2010. Unboxing the printer was pretty easy. "USB cable was included"The initial Wifi setup was very cumbersome,(printer wake sleep, network not available issues, etc.), followed the cd instructions, and other user reviews. Once setup was complete, all our computers can print wirelessly.Very happy with the product for occasional printing (we use/print approximately 10 to 15 pages in a week). very convenient wireless printing!!!!!!!!

If you have a Mac you can only print one job at a time. If you don't send everything to the printer in one shot, then it disconnects and won't reconnect unless you unplug it, plug it back in and than turn the power switch back on. Seconds after you turn the power switch on you must send your print job to the printer. If you don't, you will get an error "Printer is Offline." I've read the Apple forums and nobody seems to have a solution.

The short: This is a really nice, compact, laser printer with an attractive housing and a decent speed, but the wireless connectivity is flaky and unreliable.There are other reviews complaining about wireless issues, etc. I am in a mixed-operating-system household (2 macs and 1 windows laptop). I was able to get the printer to connect to my wireless network (with WPA2 encryption) without trouble.The printer always gives me an "Excellent" status for the signal strength (it's about 6 feet away from the router); however, if I don't print anything for a few minutes, it disappears from the network. Power-cycling the printer brings it back online again.My guess is it's an issue with WOL (Wake On LAN) or some sort of power-saving state that the printer gets stuck in.I'm giving it 4 stars. If I figure out the wireless issues, it will be 5.

Does a nice 2-sided printing job and little problem.. EXCEPT..Like a number of other printers by Samsung, the PAPER will not LOAD after about 2 years (if you are lucky). This is because the rubber on the inner roller has worn down.Samsung says nothing about this in its manual or on the website, which is inexcusable to not tell folks that this is part of maintenance. You will have to open the unit and replace, or turn the band inside out and get more use out of it...

Overall, the printer is great. It's fast, quiet, and the output is flawless. But, do yourself a favor and download the latest Win7 driver and install it on your machine. Afterward call Samsung's support, it's open 24/7 in the USA, before wasting your time trying to set-up the wireless. Take my word, I wasted the last weekend over this problem.Then enjoy this great printer. We use it from 4 wireless computers all over the house. It's hidden and out of the way in the center of the house. Easy for everyone to get their outputs. The whole family is HAPPY that we have it!

I have only had this printer for about a month but it seems great. It was fast and easy to install without the extra software that many printers come with; just the necessities. It is relatively fast and quiet and the wifi works great. I heard a lot of Mac users were having problems but my brother has a newer Mac that found and used the printer on the network with no problems or any installations other than what it does automatically - it was very fast and simple. I have already printed about a hundred pages on it with no problems and only a small percentage of the ink that came with it used. It has been great and was exactly what I wanted; I just hope it lasts :)

When the OEM toner cartridge that came with the printer ran out, I bought a low priced (read cheap) replacement. After a while it started to show a grey band on the entire right edge, top to bottom. I then purchased this fairly, reasonably priced quality item, put it in and that solved the problem.Just remember to gently shake the cartridge before inserting it into the printer and make sure you hear a click when it is fully seated.

I have to say this is the best choice I could find at this price. The only weakness is that the original toner runs out too quickly (Less than 200 pages).06-Nov-2010 Update:I have found out a way to disable the printing counter of the toner, see my comment for more details.11-Nov-2010 Update:Based on my knowledge, following printers' toner (Don't take this word the wrong way, I mean black powdered carbon) are compatible, although I can't 100% guarantee that every OEM toner of following series is compatible with MLT-D104, because there are tons of OEM factories on the market. You can buy the cheapest toner which is listed below to refill your MLT-D104 Toner.ML-1640K ML-1641K ML-1642K ML-2240K ML-2241K ML-2242 ML-1666Here is a video which shows how to refill the toner:[...]

The printer is fine but there are no instructions on how to set up the fax. I'm still trying to figure it out. I tried to download a manuel but all I got was the same paper that came with the printer and all that tells you is how to put in the cartridge and plug it in.

The printer itself is impressive, quick and quiet. I couldn't have asked for more in a mono laserjet. The only bummer is that most reviewers are right, setting up the wifi printing on a MAC is a little difficult. The Samsung software never actually gets it done and you're forced to use some of their other weird apps on the CD.Long story short: set up the MAC using the software, use the troubleshooter information to find out how you determine the printer's IP address, then go to System Preferences --> Print & Fax --> Add PrinterProtocol: HP Jetdirect - SocketAddress: IP address of the printer (you can set it's IP address using an app on the CD, read the troubleshooter)Queue: (Leave blank)Name: Automatic but you can change itLocation: (Leave blank)Print Using: "Select printer software" and find Samsung ML-2525WEnjoy!

Not sure about the other review, that's why I decided to add my 2 cents. I was able to get the printer out of the box, plug it in, install the CD and have a fully functional printer/scanner/fax within 5 minutes and I have a Windows 7, 64 bit PC. It scanned and uploaded the image to my Adobe program on the first try (I was not expecting this to be the case having read the other review). The image was very clear - in fact it was far superior to my old brother all-in-one that this printer replaced. The fax machine worked equally as well and I was able to fax a Word document from my computer with no problems on the first try. The fax interface is easier to use than that of my old brother machine as well. So far no complaints whatsoever - wonderful print/copy quality and easy to use fax/scanner. I paid $130 for it at Office Max. For this price, I feel like I got a bargain.

printer was initially inexpensive to purchase, print quality is good, speed is good.BUT, the replacement cartridge was expensive at $92 and it claimed to average 1500 sheets.i was able to get only about 700 sheets out of it before it was empty - just a few hundred more than the cartridge that came with the machine and less than half of the claimed average.i'm not sure if this was a lemon of a replacement cartridge but samsung support was unwilling to replace it for me as the cartridge is considred a 'consumable'.so far this machine is more expensive to operate than the old inkjet i was using prior- at about 13 cents per sheet.i'm considering returning this machine as it so far is not doing the job it was claimed it could do.

I am very disappointed in the toner capacity of this printer. I printed out two approximately 80 page magazines and it ran out of toner. (I had an old HP 4L that would print for a year or two before it needed toner.)Seeing how the toner is more expensive than the printer itself I don't think I will bother replacing it, I'd rather put the money into a better printer.Now, if all you print is text, you will probably get a lot more life out of a cartridge, and for that application, the printer is very quick and prints nicely.

The ML 2525W printer was easy to install in a wireless network. The quality of print and the speed is excellent for the price. There is one drawback. After a print job is completed, the printer goes to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity. I have not found a way to reactivate the printer, except to turn to machine off and on. Doing this a dozen or more times each day creates an expensive electrical bill. Unless there is a way to solve this problem, I would say, don't buy this printer.

This is my first wireless laser printer. The reason I bought this printer was to save on ink (more pages per $$) and convenience of printing w/ the wireless option. The printer meets my day-to-day printing needs. It is quiet, print quality is excellent, and wi-fi option allows me to connect wirelessly to multiple computers.
