I purchased this printer to produce mailings. The letters printed great and fast and looked wonderful. In printing envelopes, I was amazed to discover that the paper tray will not permit envelope feeding so you must use manual. I was unhappy to discover this, but I tried to get through my project by using manual to print 55 envelopes. It has now jammed 7 times in printing three envelopes. To clear the jams so the printer will try again, you have to open the door, remove the laser toner cartridge, reinsert it, close the door and try again. OMG, who has time for this?How can a printer worth anything a) not include a feeder for printing envelopes and b) have to be disassembled to clear a jam? I reviewed the customer service reviews and consumer reports and no where did I see anything about being unable to print envelopes.I spoke to two service technicians -- neither located stateside, who were no use whatsoever. I actually had to tell them the size of a standard business envelope #10 -- to break it down for them in inches. They did not offer a single solution to the problem but merely pointed out that the unit was not working. I have never had such poor customer support.I bought this because it was a Samsung product. This is the last printer I will buy from them.

I purchased this toner because it claimed to fit the Samsung 1865. It does NOT! I was so furious when I tried to replace my toner because I had a deadline for a project and needed to print some documents out and discovered that the toner didn't fit. Seriously, NOT pleased with this company. I'm hoping that Amazon customer service will somehow be able to remedy this situation.

Yes, it is pretty fast for home printing.However, quality is not great (feels gray instead of black), cannot make the wireless connection no matter what I try, AND it sparked (4 inch flames!!!) despite being in surge protector then died within 4-6 months of minimal home use.Would not re-purchase.Would not recommend

I was able to replenish the toner in my Samsung Electronics ML-1865W. Read on one of the reviews how to empty the cartridge and refill. It took less than 5 minutes. Bought an extra one a few weeks later to have in stock.

I am so pleased with this little printer. It is compact, efficient and provides very clean, crisp print. I prefer a simple b&w laser printer to a pesty ink jet which seems to always run out of ink. I use it wirelessly from another room with my pc. It was so simple to install. Works like a charm, cross fingers. I do have to get up and push a button to print on the printer if a previous job hadn;t completely printed. And it does stay "ON" all the time, but not a big deal for me.

The cartridge arrived promptly. However, my printer will not run with it inserted. My printer will run with my old cartridge. I have requested a RMA. I will update this review once I hear back from the vendor.UPDATE:I received the 2nd one from them and it didn't work either. On top of that, there was toner all over the cartridge which I got on my hands and my clothing. I have asked for another toner.

Anyone considering buying this printer should know that it's an excellent printer for a household or small office without a great deal of printing needs. It doesn't do color, scanning, copying, or anything fancy, BUT it is a very good small printer from a computer. It would probably also work well at college for students who are simply printing papers. If you like a laser printer - and I do because they're far easier than ink jet - this is a good choice. I haven't set up the wireless part because I don't need it. But I have the option to go wire-less with this printer.The other good thing about this printer is - strangely - the directions. It came with complete - in five or so languages - about the how-to use this printer. I've bought printers - an HP, among others - which came with minimal written directions. The user was expected to connect the printer to computer and then print out the direction booklet. In both cases, it was terribly difficult to even connect the printer, let alone print the directions after that! I wouldn't have minded paying for a complete booklet, but they weren't available.I think this is a great product for the right user.

The installation procedure to connect this printer via wi-fi just doesn't work on a Mac running Lion. Several other reviews here at Amazon say this, as do a couple of threads on the Apple user discussions forum. I finally got it to work by first running the installation procedure on a Windows 7 PC using the Samsung CD and then, once the printer was talking to the wi-fi network, installing the printer on the Mac using the Apple "System Preferences" user interface (rather than the Samsung CD). But unless you have a Windows PC as well as a Mac, or have Windows installed in a virtual machine on the Mac, that's not going to help you.

Would have been 5 stars except that every now and then, especially when printing a document with more than 4 pages, it loses the wifi connection and stops printing in the middle of the document. Turn it off and back on and it works again. Works every time for just one or two pages though.

I have a colleague who uses this printer very successfully with PC's.But we have had a very bad time using it with our MAC networked office environment. It refuses to stay connected to the wireless network. We've had 2 service tech visits to try to fix the issues (at $100 per visit) and yet the printer randomly quits responding for reasons no one can figure out.I do not recommend this printer if you are using MAC computers. I'm going to purchase a new printer from Apple's store.

I am well pleased! The printer is small and compact, pretty quiet, and less power consumption than many of it's competitors. I love that I can print directly from my smartphone with the samsung app... through our router or directly from phone.

I just saw this on Amazon listed for only $41.90. How cheap can a printer go?But when you see the cost on replacement cartridges you know something is wrong.Pro: it is fast. The warm up time is quick and the print out is fast, especially if a file has many pages to it. It loads fast and it prints fast.Size is small, fits in many small corners. So if you have a small office that needs a work horse, this one is a good choice.Con: The paper load is not as big, maybe less than 200 sheets. So in a week or so, I need to reload paper.Noise: it has a noise pitch that's just right to make you annoyed and irritated. Almost sounds like whining. I guess all printers do to a certain extend. So I recommend placing this printer away from you so you don't get irritated by the noise.The paper holder is a bit difficult to load and adjust. It's not as smooth as my other Brother or HP printers.But, for the price, really no complaints. For a sub $50 printer that prints fast and at a good resolution, if you expect a 5 star, this one comes awfully close.Recommend buy.

I received this printer as I needed a new laser printer. My old HP LaserJet 4P printer is like 20 years old, and its print is terrible and faint and hard to read. This new printer prints nicely dark and crisp. It's easy to set up and it's ready to go.Be careful to let the printed page dry and watch out, it might smudge.The warning about this printer: New cartridges cost almost as much as the printer--$59.99 unless you can find them on sale. That's almost like buying a new printer every time ... I didn't like that. My 20 year old LaserJet needs a cartridge once a year, if that. This one, depending on how much you print, may need a new cartridge once a month if you do a lot of printing. So, just be aware of this fact. It's good to have this printer if you don't need to print out everything you have. I would advise to purchase a new cartridge in advance, as when the cartridge is empty you need to have a new one ready to install.I will update this review when I find out how long a cartridge lasts. This is an important matter and I hope it is not as I feared, needing a new toner cartridge every month.

This started out as a reasonable printer with occasional paper jams. It has progressed to Jamming every time you print. Pulls multiple sheets even when it doesn't jam. Customer service is useless. I've had it less than a year. Tossing this one in the dumpster and heading for office max. The replacement will not be a samsung. Yes the price was right but what good is a great price if you have to fight the equipment everytime you use it?

My windows 7 laptop has the drivers installed and if i turn off and then on the printer I usually can get it to print a test page, but the printer never appears on the network when you actually need to print. It seems to go to sleep and the never return to life. So I've spent all of the very expensive toner printing test pages...

Overall, this is a pretty decent printer. In a surprisingly compact package, it promises wireless printing, decent print quality (even with 8 point fonts), and a fairly quick print speed - all at an excellent price point.Unfortunately, setting up this printer was more eventful than I'd have liked. I was unable to set up wireless printing - due to a faulty network card in the printer. Samsung support was excellent, and in about 10 days, I had a working printer.With the fixed printer, setup was straightforward. I connected a USB cable between the printer and my computer, and ran the install software, electing to setup this printer on my wireless network. The software detected my network, prompted me for my wireless passphrase, and the printer was configured on my computer. Finally!Since then I've been favorably impressed with this tiny printer that could. This is definitely a plucky little performer.I deducted a star for the quality issue that I experienced.Happy printing!~Damodar

Well connecting this beast to my macbook was painful. I installed the software, computer couldn't find it, tried downloading it, computer couldn't find it, finally uninstalled everything then reinstalled from disk and it worked. Prints really fast and nice quality as well, also is nice and small so fits on the desk. Couldn't figure out how to make it wireless but I don't really care about that. Might be an issue for some Mac users though.

Great for the first year (good quality print outs for B/W pictures and documents) and then fell apart. It came with a low fill "starter" toner cartridge that the cheap printers use as a gimmick to keep the price down. It doesn't last long at all so you need a new one fairly fast. The replacement toner cartridge was a $50 at a refill shop (there is a trick fuse in it that blows to try to keep you from using non-Samsung toner so Google it before you go through the trouble that I did).So overall, I have had a bad experience. The rubber feeder "feet" or rollers dry out and won't feed paper properly after about one year (lick your finger and reach in and wet the roller- it works!). The paper jams and you have to manually feed the paper one sheet at a time, a real pain. I took it in but the repair was too costly since the printer was only $99 (on sale new) at the time so it would have been cheaper just to replace it than the repair. It has since tripled in price and is now not worth buying. I have the Brother HL-4040CN (color, networked) as a backup for it. No problems with the Brother whatsoever (it is slow to warm up and wakes up slow from low power mode). The Samsung is also made VERY cheaply and many of the plastic parts have broken off (feeder, paper guides, etc) with ongoing usage.

Hooked it up, set up the wifi network in minutes, and was printing from my PHONE - in another ROOM - wirelessly in minutes! This is what I needed to unwire my life! Great image, fast, and super quiet. I love this printer!EDIT: I'll tell you what's not to love... the stupid thing drops connection every time it takes a power outage and apparently the only way I can get it back on the network again is to connect the cable and run setup all over again! Samsung support is useless on this. So don't lose your USB cable or disc - in fact, keep them close by. You'll need them from time to time. Otherwise, it's a great printer.

I've fooled around with this printer long enough, downloading drivers and software. In the beginning the wireless aspect worked occasionally. Then no amount of tinkering could resurrect that. So I used the USB option, which worked for a while. Now nothing works - and out the window it goes. This is an expensive printer anyway, enormous cost per page. Don't frustrate yourself with this piece of junk.

This toner works as well as the OEM toner in my Samsung ML-1865w.
I will definitely order more from this company in the very near future. It's hard

I have tried to set this printer up with my white iMac. It works to print one document, but then goes to sleep. Once it is asleep, my Mac is not able to wake it up. I have to reach behind the printer, unplug it, and plug it back in every time that I want to print anything. And on top of that, it will add on 5-10 sheets with random words to my print jobs, wasting both paper and toner. I have talked to the tech support people, as well as customer service people, from Samsung countless times. I have had several tech support people tell me that the waking from sleep problem is a known issue, but there is currently no fix. It is a firmware issue with Macs, and the newest firmware does not address this problem.All I asked was that they exchange it for a comparable model that does not have this issue. The tech support people seemed to think that that was a reasonable request, and I have been forwarded to their "Executive Customer Relations" department many times. Finally one person said that I needed to have the printer looked at by a service center before I would be eligible for an exchange. I drove it the 20 miles away to the nearest authorized service center, and they found exactly what I expected. When plugged in to their Windows machines there was no issue. They also told me that this firmware issue with Macs was something that they have run in to before.After I got it back from the service center, I talked to someone who said that they had approved my case for an exchange and that someone would call me from the appropriate department. That person called me while I was at work (because most of the non-tech support departments seem to keep hours only during the middle of the day when all of the rest of us are at work) and left a message saying that I should call him to set up an exchange for a new printer of the same model.WHAT!?!?! I don't want the same model because it will have the same issues. SO... I called the number that he left me and it took me to the exec customer relations people. Again, they told me that someone from the exchange department would call me back. And THEN I HEARD NOTHING. So I called back again. And was told that the approval for my exchange had been withdrawn because all I needed to do was install the newest firmware and it should work. Well by this point I was STEAMING!! THEY CANCELED MY EXCHANGE?? WHO DID? NO ONE TOLD ME!?Of course the firmware that I downloaded and tried again was the exact same firmware that I had already tried. So I called back and finally got a tech-support person to put me in the que for the product support rep for this model. And at this point I am just waiting for this person to call me. I have been waiting weeks to hear from him, and it has been over 2 months since I got the printer.The moral of my rant is that Samsung's tech support is AWFUL!!!!! Just flat out awful. They have been rude to me, they don't return calls when they say that they will, and they are making me jump through a ridiculous number of hoops to get to talk to anyone that will help me. I should have just mailed it back to the original seller, but my dealings with the Samsung support jokers has pushed me past the 30-day exchange limit. At this point I basically have a 15 pound paperweight in my office, for which I paid $100. This is my last Samsung purchase,for fear that any time something does not work they will leave me high and dry.

The printer was easy to set up using the printer cable and installation disc supplied with the printer. Once you get it on your Wifi network, you can remove the cable and use it wireless. Nice and fast. Color is great.

First I bought Samsung CLP 325 (for $99 at Frys), I tried with one Software Engineer, but unable to get it go wireless. It does work with USA cable. After 3 hours, I return it to Frys. Go to Amazon read review the guy just bought Samsung CLP 365W.Go back to Frys, got another at $169. Boys, set up is easy ,it's a breeze. I got all four computers hooked up within minutes. Seem like it used a lot voltage at inital start (you can see light bulbs flickering a little bit) but after that it goes normal. One thing I concern is that this machine need FOUR toners (Black, Yellow, Cyan, Magenta). Each toner cost around $60, to replace them all. It would cost around $240 (not inluded Tax). Well I guess, I probably buy a new printer with four new toners included and throw the old one out. What's a mess when try to live green. Otherwise, it's a beautiful machine and very quiet

Agree with previous reviews that this printer is not so easy to set up with a MacBook. Definitely need a printer USB cable (which didn't come with the refurbished unit that I bought) and look up the latest software from the Samsung website. However, once I got the printer set up, it has worked well. The design looks nice and it fits into a small apartment without cluttering it. Would recommend.

I bought this to replace an SCX4200 that had worked very well for years until it started to wear out. Based on its shape and size, which are the same as the SCX4200, I assumed Samsung would have retained the best features of its successful design in this upgraded (wireless) model. Unfortunately they introduced a change that makes it impossible to copy any page that is longer than the glass copying area without light pollution and distortion in the output.As a musician I frequently have to copy pages that are larger than the glass copying area of the printer. On the SCX4200 this was a simple matter of lying the music or book over the edges of the glass plate and centering the printed part of the page over the copying area. It almost always worked perfectly, even when working with fairly thick books. The SCX4623FW, for some inexplicable reason, added a raised lip to the copying area that makes it impossible to lay oversize pages flat, and as a result the upper part of the page comes out darkened and blurred. I tried everything to get around this without success. Even covering the whole thing with a thick black cloth did not solve the problem. I finally wrote to Samsung and they admitted that it was impossible to copy oversize items.Other that that the printer works well though the software and wireless set-up are overly complicated. It also seems to go through toner more quickly than the SCX-4200. There is an excellent feature called auto-fit which pre-scans larger documents and automatically fits them on the page if the document is able to fit on the glass plate without having to rest on the raised lip, though it slows the copying operation considerably.

I had this printer installed and working wirelessly in less than 10 minutes.Set up is easy, all i did was install the printer on my imac, using the included CD and with the printer plugged in using the USB cable (included); this allowed me to configure the printer to work with my wireless network.Then, like many others, i saw that the Imac thought the printer was offline.The Solution is this:Go to system preferences>print & fax;you will see your samsung printer listed in the column on the left, go to the bottom of that column and click the plus sign, there you should see the ability to add the Samsung printer but with a long serial code after it and under "kind"it will say "Bonjour".Add this printer. Now delete the other samsung printer (the one without the long serial code)DONETest it out, you should now be able to print wirelessly from your mac.Additional tip for setting this up for Windows PC:Once the printer is on the network you do not need to temporarly connect it via USB like the manual says you do, to install it on additional computers.In Windows 7 or vista: go to control panel and click printers (under hardware)at the top click add a printer, then select networked printer.If the computer is connected ot the same network as the printer, it should find the printer. WIndows will then look for the driver, put the CD in the computer (or if a netbook download and unzip the driver from samsung website)click "have disk", then browse and navigate through the CD (or unzipped file if netbook) go to printer, then click your operating system and you will find a single file in there. click this file and set to open.This will install the printer on the networked computer and you never needed to plug the printer into this computer.REVIEW:The printer works very well, though I have ony printed test pages as of yet. The only problem I have had is that it is a bit loud and it seems to take a while from the time I click print until the printer begins printing; though this may just be a function of laser printers. Once it begins printing it is very fast.Hope this helps anyone who was having trouble using the printer on a Mac.

This is my first refill ordered for my Samsung 1865W from SOL. It includes the chip. Instead of melting a hole I removed the end cap on the chip side by using a knife to cut edge of the three plastic knobs` edge, so that it is easily remove the end and replace the chip, and to refill the toner-the refill cap is right there. It only took less than 10 min. and new refill works great like new.
