I completely agree with the college student that mentions that it CANNOT double side print properly. I've just gone through trying to print 100 pages into 50 double sided pages. Needless to say, I ended up with tons of wasted paper and a skyrocketing blood pressure.As for text quality, the text is printed very well.It just can't print double-sided. Skips over some and when you try to do the odd then even print method without a duplex, it's just... horror. Pure horror.

Overall this is a decent printer if you don't plan to share it over your network using Wifi (unknown yet if it has the same problem with a wired connection to your network). The problem seems to be that the printer will not "wake up" after sleeping. This means you have to turn the printer off, back on, and then wait about a minute while the Wifi comes online before you can print. The sleep mode can be pushed out to 2 hours which can limit the problem but not eliminate it.What makes me the most furious is that this is a known bug and Samsung has no answer and they continue to sell these machines. I made the mistake of buying a high yield toner cartridge and installing it in my machine before I knew about the problem. I can return the machine but I can't return the $70 toner cartridge.I plan to try hooking up the machine using a wired connection and see if that fixes the problem, even though it changes the plan for where I had planned to place my printer.

Out of the box it ddnt work. I have used Epson, HP, and Canon printers for the past 15 years and never had i have had one NOT WORK OUT OF THE BOX.WiFi, follwed their instructions, DOESNT WORK. Printing, the only function of the machine, DOESNT PRINT! shouldnt matter if i am on a mac or not.AVOID this printer.I so regret purchasing it...

My old Samsung broke, so I bought a new Samsung. (I'm still brand loyal.) Both were trouble free to set up and reliable enough. However, I was led to believe that they both took the same toner cartridge - they do not. The cartridge from my old unit was still half full... the cartridge that comes with new printers only prints about a ream and a half. The refill (which prints much more,) costs as much again as the printer. I was mad, so I delete expletives.Don't install the software if you can help it: The ML-2525 comes with a software DVD to install a TSR whose sole function is to make ONE BUTTON WORK :-) It touts a print screen function. It works, but Why, Santa, Why? XP has no problem operating the device sans baggage.There's a network enabled model that is exactly the same price... it would have been a good idea.

My Samsung ML-2525W arrived from Amazon and it was a breeze to set up the wireless printing. I am using it only wirelesly for now, but that may change unless I can get the printer to stop acting like a spoiled teenager.If you ignore it for a while and don't use it, it ignores you. It goes to sleep and then it is a gamble if it will wake up. I have even tried a ping (every minute)to try and keep it interested in talking to me but so far nothing works.It seems as though I am not alone in this, just google "Samsung won't wake up" to see that whilst there are many suffering the same problem, Samsung has done nothing to address this. All it would take would be for the brains to come up with new firware that would fix the problem.On the positive side, the print is crisp and clean. The first print is quicker than my HP LaserJet4 and the samsung is about 50% quieter than the HP.On the whole. I would have to say that I don't recommend this printer, but I would buy a samsung printer if I only wanted to connect the USB.

Just got this printer and already love it, the best investment I've made last couple months. Setting-up wireless was a piece of cake. It even came with USB cable, that surprised me, because as I know new printers doesn't come with USB cables. I'm Mac user and had no problem at all, set-up took less than 5 minutes.Who cares about noise, and it's only for 2 seconds or so, till it warms up. pages comes out immediately.Besides Wireless and USB it also has Ethernet plug if you prefer to connect your printer directly to your router/switch.Web-based administration page lets you to customize and adjust setting of your printer remotely by logging on your printer's web-configuration.Overall, I'd rate it 10/10. You cannot get better deal for this price, forget about 40 dollar cheaper ink-jets, that takes forever to print out a page or two, tremendous amount of inks you need to buy after 100 pages, get this printer, you won't regret.

I purchased this product through Amazon for $79.99 with 5-6 day free shipping, was expecting it to come in on 4/25/2011, but I got today. It only 2 days to get here!Now, with the printer. I read each instructions carefully, within 10 mins my printer is good to go with wifi connetion. The initial setup is easy. The design of the printer is great. Also, the quality of the text is superb. For $79.99, you can't go wrong!Both Amazon and Samsung did a great job!

I bought this printer in 2003 and it still works like it's brand new. I do a lot of printing and a new toner cartridge last more than a year. I've never had a problem, except that I have to order toner on line rather than pick it up at the local office supply store. That is the only draw back. Having to wait for the mail.

Overall, this is an excellent buy for the money. Wife installed right out of the box and had going within a few minutes. Print and scan quality is great. Only issues are that we cannot figure out how to scan from the buttons on the machine...it will not recognize our computer. Other drawback is that the toner cartridge that comes with the unit only lasts for about 50-60 pages worth of printing so you may as well buy the high output cartridge when you purchase the printer. You can get an off brand for around $60 that is supposed to print 2500 pages....update on this statement....Ordered from Green Cartridge Tech and it appears that the recycled unit may not be compatable with this unit. It printed about 5 pages and then gave us the "Replace Toner" error. Now trying to resolve with Green Cartridge Tech.

The only reason I didn't give this printer a 5 star is that after two weeks, the wheels started squeaking and I can't seem to get it to stop. Also, the printer cartridges are twice as expensive as the ones I was purchasing on the older model, ML2510 which has been discontinued.

This is a great little printer: fast, quiet, nice quality prints. The problem with this printer is the cost of the toner. $70 for 2500 copies is absurd! Samsung reasoning seems to be "sell the printer really cheap and then make a bundle by screwing buyers on the toner."

I'm a freshman in college, and I got this about a month ago so that I wouldn't have to keep mooching off of other people for my printing needs. I've printed probably about 150 to 200 pages so far, without a single problem. The thing works great; it's nice, it's pretty compact, and it's fast. It was easy to make room for it in my dorm. The only problem is that it's kind of loud, so if you're sharing a room with someone, it's not advisable to print late at night or early in the morning. Other than that, though, I love it!

Sadly, the reviewers who have said this printer doesn't work with Macs aren't exaggerating. Search online for this printer's model # and the word "offline" and you'll find many unhappy customers. It goes offline after every print job, forcing the user to power cycle the printer or disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.This has been a problem for half a year and still Samsung hasn't been able to fix it. I called this week to see if they had a fix and was told "the engineers are aware of this issue and are working on a new software driver." Yeah, but they've been aware of it for months ... The only other suggestion was to return it.Support is the major difference between this laser printer and others. Samsung has dropped the ball on all of us Mac users. Don't buy this product.

This printer is a great choice for home use. Very easy to setup, and prints very fast. Great quality printouts.The scanning function is excellent. Its connected to my network via Wi-Fi, and have multiple Windows 7, Vista and Mac 10.6.6 computers sharing this printer.The toner is cheaper than buying two Black and Color HP ink cartridges.I recommend it.

They trick you to buy this by titling it Remanufactured Samsung 2010D3.Actually it is a compatible Catridge nothing to do with the Samsung brand.I'm sending it back. I really don't like when someone try to trick me.Truth in selling is important to me.UPDATE:After contacting the Seller, I was given a full refund. I was disappointed in this purchase. I realize it was not a manufactured new cartridge but I had hoped it would last a little longer than it did. After only @ 50 pages it began to smear on the page and then the quality was really poor. I could take the cartridge out and shake it but that needed done every 5 pages or so.

It prints and scans fine but the wireless functionality is terrible. I have called support 2 times and they get it workingThe next day it doesn't work anymore. Pretty much given up printing wirelessly, only printing with the USB cable now. Very disappointed.

Like many others, I have had issues with the wireless connection. Installing it was easy enough and setting up the wireless connection was a walk in the park, but once the printer goes to sleep, it disconnects from the network. I go into my router to see if it's still connected and IP no longer shows up. Restarting the printer fixes the issue, but only temporarily. The wi-fi connection also takes an incredibly long time to start up. I've yet to find a solution for the problem, and if the other reviews here are any indication, I doubt I'm ever going to find a solution to this issue. If you're going to use the printer over USB or wired network, it's fine. The machine prints clearly and quietly. However, if you're buying this printer to use on your wi-fi network, I'd steer clear from it.

This printer is unbelievably awesome. I'm used to those massive, heavy laser printers. But this little bugger is like a miniature looking microwave with very little wasted space. The little panels fold out and you can close them up if you want.This is the best purchase I've made this year on electronics. The price is so good and it's laser, so you won't waste your money on ink-catridges every month. It looks like a little black box, it's pretty cool looking, and simple with two buttons, I only use the power button though.Hold the power button to turn it off, or click it to turn it on. It's so easy. Plug and play in Windows 7, I didn't need the driver CD.It does NOT come with the USB cord. So you need a USB Cord with the standard rectangle shape, and then the square shape on the end (They are different ends).

The symptom is that the ML-2525w printer will fail to stay operational after entering the 'sleep mode', the Smart Panel shows the status unavailable and any print window shows the status as 'offline'. The printer installs fine. For a few minutes its status is good and prints fine. But after it goes to sleep, you can't wake it... unless you restart it.Resolution -- When installing in a wireless LAN, NEVER... repeat NEVER install via the USB cable. ALWAYS use a standard Cat5 Ethernet LAN cable for wireless installs!I have had four Samsung printers over the years. This is the first time I had issues with an install. Frontline Samsung help desk support was stumped despite the fact that this was a common problem!

I've got a Samsung ML 2010 laser printer. Needed to get another ink cartridge and knowing how much I paid for the last one I was worried I'd be dumping another $80+ into a new cartridge. I did a bit of searching and found this one. It's not a "refill" cartridge which is great. Got the cartridge the other day. Put it in the printer and it works flawlessly. Great value. Very happy I found this product.

This printer (as others have noted)refuses to feed paper properly. I've printed with numerous types and qualities of paper and it's always a fight to get anything out of the printer. I seriously hand feed, blow on pages, wet them with a finger etc. to try to get the paper into the machine. A simple job can take 15 minutes while fighting with this printer. While other features are good, they are totally irrelevant since the printer rarely works correctly. Anyone whose seen Office Space knows what goes through my head EVERYTIME I use this printer (and yeah, it does have a few broken parts now after I've given in to my frustration).

I ordered this printer as it was the second cheapest WiFi printer available from a familiar brand.I had a big problem with the printer in the beginning and was about to write a terrible review when I managed to fix it. When installing the printer, the software displays the found WiFi networks, HOWEVER, not all networks are listed and some, though found aren't displayed. To solve this, one must manually set up one's WiFi network using the wizard (write down your network name, encryption type and password and then insert it manually after running the installation software). Since then, the printer has been working perfectly and I can place it anywhere in my apartment. I hope this helps others with the same problem, since I googled this issue and couldn't find a solution.The cartridge that comes with the printer is pretty fully and I've printed more than 200 pages with no warnings.This printer is good value, it basically does what it promises initially even if it requires some creatively solving the WiFi issue.

I need a laser printer to output my short story and novel length manuscripts, which means lots of pages of black & white single sided simple prints. A typical short story has 25 to 50 pages. My previous Samsung ML-5050G was purchased in 1999 and worked fine, but it doesn't work with Vista or Windows 7 and my old print server computer crashed. This replacement prints twice as fast and supports a broader range of fonts.The Samsung ML-2525 is very recommended if your printing needs are simple.

I have had the wireless version of this printer for four months and it works great. The only setup issue I had was that it did not work the first time with my DHCP dynamic network assignment of IP addresses and kept "dropping" the wireless connection - not being able to find the printer. I called tech support and they were familiar with the issue and walked me through assigning a static IP address to my printer. (NOTE: be sure to assign a higher IP address than you'll ever actually use with other devices, so the DHCP does not automatically assign the same IP address you hard-coded for this one). This worked like a charm and I have not had a problem since. I am back to order a 2nd one, only I don't need the wireless this time, for the 2nd location I am putting it in.

I was not able to install the printer so it would work wirelessly to my Mac via the airport extream network after many many hours of trying different things. If you have a mac don't bother. If it can be set up I haven't figured it out and Samsung tech help is worthless and were not able to help me set up the printer.

I have used Samsung B&W laser printers in my office from the time I started my business 6 years ago. They are workhorses and rarely jam. Samsung packs a reliable, feature-rich package including network capability, automatic duplexing and postscript printing. When a 6 year old printer that I had bought used finally broke down, I replaced it with the ML-3471IND as a personal printer in my office. It's much faster than the original, and I think the print is clearer at the same resolution...Samsung has improved on an excellent product. Only negative is it comes with a 300 sheet tray, rather than a 500 sheet tray, and can't handle two trays with different types of paper. This is not a problem for me, for I can easily load up to 10-15 sheets or more of letterhead or envelopes, etc. in the multi-function tray. Occasionally crinkles envelopes, but otherwise flawless operation.The other reason I purchased it was price/value...Samsung seems to make exceptional printers for the money. For some odd reason they are not reviewed in all the major mags, nor are they promoted by all the usual outlets, so they seem to be a well-kept secret. These are durable and high quality that matches or exceeds any printer in its price range.

I bought this printer for my personal use, then I end up buying another two for my office, and my friend.It works perfect, if you know how to use a printer, and maintain it correctly, it works like a watch.Copier, Fax, Printer, Scanner, you don't even need to buy the network one, because you can share this one on your windows machine, and you can printer from multiple computers, this is how I use it in the office.Toner is all over the place, and easy to buy it from Amazon.I have moved away from Brother Printers and HP because of the price of toner, it is like you are buying black gold.

This is one nice little printer. I do not print but 100 pages per month or so. I was tired of paying for inkjets and gave this laser a chance. Well worth the money! Of the 100 pages or so that ran through it, one one jam. No issues hooking it up with Vista or Windows 7.I have printed note cards and envelopes without issue, too.Excellent quality print with picutres and text. This would be a great printer to send to college with your student.

I'm not sure what the problems are with a couple of the Mac user reviews here, but I've been a Mac user for years and this items works perfectly with my Mac (late model Intel version). Please don't pass on this wonderful printer based on incorrect reviews...it is a great product. I had a very expensive HP LaserJet network printer but I needed a wireless printer. This printer (I paid $79 at OfficeMax) is a far better laser printer than my previous heavy duty HP. If you still have problems with this and your Mac, go to the Apple Discussion forums and there are several discussions on the setup and configuration, though you shouldn't need to do anything at all other than turn on the printer...go to Preferences and select it...then click on INSTALL to add the Apple drivers for it. That's all I did and it works fine.

At around $50 this was perfect for my needs It has a small footprint and sits unobtrusively at the corner of my desk.I use it to print invoices and shipping labels for all my Ebay & Amazon sales,simple and easy to operate.However the big problem seems to be the replacement Black toner cartridge which is currently running at the same price as the printer for a cartridge that prints 700 pages !!! I'm wondering if this printer model is soon to be discontinued due to the poor availability of the toner.

I bought this printer because of the WiFi feature, so that the place of the printer can be independant. I used it for about 2 months with WiFi and it was really a pain. It printed bigger documents only around 50% of the time and when it printed it, it failed often after 15 or so pages. Also, the printer wouldn't wake up from stand-by mode while using WiFi. A firmware upgrade also didn't help so now, I finally hooked it up with a network cable et voila, everything works as expected.The printer itself is quiet, fast and Samsung pays for the recycling of the toner, which is pretty neat.So in short: Don't buy the printer because of the WiFi feature, for everything else it's a fine printer.

I just purchased the samsung scx4623fw all in one and I love it. The installation was easy and all the features work great. The wireless feature is a must making it so the printer can be put anywhere. Print quality is better than I expected and doesn't make a lot of noise. I also like that is has a separate slot for different size applications. I think this is a great printer and I hope it serves me a long time. Only time will tell.

I finally have taken this printer and and gave up...I have become an expert at taking it apart and removing jammed paper in the fuser. I have had so many jams where the paper is feeding fine, it just stops about half-way through the printer and throws an red-error light. I am on the second toner cartridge (first was shipped with the printer) so you can see that the printer is not used excessive, it just likes to jam and make the owner wish it was never purchased.

Samsung Laser Printer's Wireless Issue Resolved:1. Connect an USB cable from PC to printer2. Access to Router Web Base Setting and make sure UPnP is enable. Assign and reserve a static IP for the printer in your LAN settings. Apply all changes and then Log out.3. Insert Driver CD a. Explore CD and execute SetIP.exe b. Run Setup.exe for drive installation c. Choose setup printer with wireless option d. Select access point at scanning window and configure printer IP as static then enter Printer IP, Subnet Mask, and Gateway and then "Next" e. Software is gonna check for availability of IP and establishing the wireless connection. f. A notice of disconnecting the USB cable from both end would pop up as Configuration is Successful. g. Plug in network cable, open internet explore and type in the IP of the printer. Go to Netwrok Settings/UPnP check Enable Auto IP, Multicast DSN, and SSDP. Then Apply and unplug network cable h. Run SetIP and add printer with printer's MacID, IP, Subnet Mask, and Gateway. Then click Apply and wait for 20 - 30s for printer and router forming connection.

This printer will not work with Mac OS X 10.6.5 Snow Leopard. The driver is still not upgraded to work. A work around is to print one document and turn the printer off then turn it back on before printing another document. If you try to print a second document without turning the printer off first, you may have to turn off the printer and restart your computer to get it to work again.I bought it because there was no driver for my old ML-1710 printer so now I have two Samsung printers that don't work. When the mL-2525W does print, it is an excellent printer. I have not yet tried the wireless operation until I can get the USB connection working.My Samsung SCX-4200 does print and sscan with Snow Leopard 10.6.5.

Generally speaking, I like Samsung printers. They're inexpensive, and in the past it's been possible to find dirt-cheap aftermarket toner cartridges for them, so you could print for about a penny per page.I still haven't been able to find aftermarket cartridges for this printer though. All the usual suspects list it as "coming soon," but have since April. I guess Samsung has made the cartridges for this printer a lot harder to reverse-engineer.I bought this printer in a hurry because I ran out of toner for my earlier model Samsung printer, and thought it would be a good idea to have an extra printer around anyway. I used it until the toner cartridge that came with it ran out, and when I was using it, I found it to be lightning fast, very quiet, and compact. I don't remember the paper ever jamming, and my printouts were nice and clear and very readable. I can't complain about the printer itself.But I wish I had spent some time researching the availability of aftermarket cartridges. I might have been better off buying a different model of Samsung, or a competing brand like a Brother instead. For now, the printer is sitting unused until I can find an inexpensive replacement toner cartridge.
