If you buy this, and your are using a MAC you need to do a IPP setup. I don't know what IPP is, but I found the directions and it works great. Essentially, you open the system preferences> printers> and hit the plus sign in the bottom left corner. Select select the samsung that pops in, then enter the printers IP address. Thats about it. surf around for better directions, but don't let the MAC quirks scare you from buying this if you are a MACer.

Purchased this printer to use on home network. After attempting unsuccessfully to install drivers found that the software is not compatible with current Mac OS. Contacted Samsung and was told they have no idea if or when a driver update will be created. I am returning the printer today.

I purchased the ML2525w about 3 weeks ago online. After unpacking, I noticed it was missing 2 of the rubber feet (little bumpers) on the bottom. It had the back feet but not the front feet. The result of this is that it will not sit even, and will scratch the surface I am going to be setting it on. So instead of going thru the hassle of returning it, I decided to chat in to Samsung support to ask if they could just send me the feet and I would put them on myself. Heck, I even would have paid a small amount for them. After a 1 hour and 45 minute chat session the support person said they would be sending the feet out. I was super clear about what I needed and even asked him to type back what it was he was sending me. You see where this is going. 10 days later I chat back in to check on the shipment, waste 45 more minutes and get the following response:Rick S: I am sorry, Adhesive rubber feet on bottom of unit are not possible to ship as it is No charge part.Rick S: I have checked in our data base that the shipping order was cancelled because it is not possible to ship the rubber feet.Visitor: So you are going to send me another printer just because the feet are missing?Rick S: I am sorry, as it is No charge part we cannot ship you the part.Visitor: That's fine, how are you goign to fix the issue.Rick S: I'm sorry for the inconvenience. The Live chat is front end technical support and we are trained to do basic troubleshooting. For the advance troubleshooting, please contact our Tier 2 department on phone.Rick S: You can contact our Tier 2 at the following number: 1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864)So basically he tried to push me off on advanced tech support (which is not the right place) because he couldn't solve the issue.I got this printer for a super price and the retailer is paying return shipping (#uyc@m) so I arranged to have it shipped back and exchanged, but beware. I also purchased a squaretrade warranty in case I need it to avoid Samsung at all costs. If I ever find out how this thing works I'll update :)

Don't be fooled. This is a magnificent printer - WHEN IT WORKS. I have done hours of research and technical support to get this printer to STAY WIRELESS because it intermittently goes into "Sleep Mode" or "Offline" status. AFTER I made the purchase I found out that this printer has all sorts of network issues. It just simply won't stay connected to any wireless network. It is Windows 7 compatible and I have the best Cisco router, but the printer's unpredictability will drive you mad so don't buy the thing. I called Samsung and they denied the issue at first. Then the truth came out, "Well there has been a small issue with the printer staying in Sleep Mode intermittently". I asked for a Samsung tech to repair it and Samsung told me, "We haven't found a solution at the moment. Please call us back in a couple of weeks to get an update". Do I need to say more??

For many years, I owned a Samsung ML-1210, which performed flawlessly with my Apples, PCs and even my newest computer, a System 76 Ubuntu laptop. It finally died, so I replaced it with this model (Samsung ML-2525W), in spite of the bad reviews. It worked fine with the PC, not at all with the Ubuntu laptop, but (worst of all), I couldn't get it to work with my Mac-mini. I kept getting a printed copy of the message, "Internal Error - Please use the proper driver." I used the CD that came with the printer, and used the wireless install option as well as the standard install option. (I uninstalled and reinstalled.) With both options, the printer acted as though it would print, but the only doc I ever got was the error message, except when I used it with the PC. It's relatively inexpensive, and I would have kept it if it had worked with two of the three computers, but I don't think it should take more than 15 minutes to get a peripheral device up and running. I wasted too much time on this, and I'm quite sure another printer will work fine with much less effort on my part. It's going back (Amazon is great about taking back products, thanks Amazon!), and I'll order another, probably an HP. No more Samsung printers for me. Very disappointing, since I own many Samsung products and have been very satisfied until now. I am now hesitant to buy that line again, given this experience.

I can't even believe how cheap they have this toner. My old toner was dying out already--it would print light grey.Once I had this toner in my ML-2510, whoa. My printer was printing crystal clear black and white documents as if it was printed at Kinko's or Staples! I'm really glad I bought this. I was so close to picking up the original at Staples for about 80 bucks plus tax. Amazon didn't even charge me for tax and for 2-day shipping (I have Prime)!

I don't use this printer that much, so I cannot judge longevity and reliability. I'm network savvy, so the security layers I have in place made it all the more difficult to get the printer to work on my wireless network. I needed to find the printer's wireless MAC address and it took a while. Even after entering the appropriate information and getting the printer to work, it would not rejoin the network again after cycling power. I had to connect using the USB cable and manually force the printer to rejoin the wireless network. However, that problem has somehow fixed itself. I have two computers that use this printer, and I figured that all I would have to do to get the second computer to find this printer would be to browse to the printer's IP address, but no, it is not its own print server, so I have to print from computer 2 via computer 1. This isn't a problem since computer 1 is normally powered up all of the time, but this is not the printer for you if you think that the network feature will allow you print from any computer on the network independently of all other devices.Print quality is good from the standard paper tray, but it is very difficult to keep paper and envelopes straight when using manual feed. When printing labels for Christmas cards, I ended up putting the sheets in the paper tray which is not what (according to the manual) you are supposed to do. Even after feeding an envelope through the manual slot as carefully and as straight as possible, it still came out crooked with creases on the face of the envelope - not good.In conclusion, if you need to do occasional laser quality printing on standard stock, letter-sized paper, this is the printer for you because it is so inexpensive. Anything more however, and you may want to look at more professional, higher priced models.

I needed a fax-scanner-copier and didn't want to have to pay a arm and leg for it, plus the cost of ink is crazy. getting this laser printer fit exactly what I needed.The toner may be more expensive than ink but it lasts alot longer. it is black and white only, but if you just need to copy or scan documents- this is perfect

Just spent 2 days trying to hook this up to an imac with airport extreme.You seem to need the smart panel running to establish a wifi connection.Without the smart panel, you cannot find the I.P address of the printer.The Smart Panel does not run under Mac Lion.Works fine with USB, which kind of defeats the purpose of buying a wifi printer...Contacted Samsung support 4 times - no answerAvoid

I want you to know that my experience is much the same as C. Clark's. The 1865W is easy to get up and running with the drivers and printed material included. The wireless has operated flawlessly (though you have to attach it briefly by USB cable to each computer that you want it to print from).At $60 is has been a great alternative to ink hungry ink jet printers. Draft mode saves toner and looks fine for most needs. [I will have to report on replacement toner alternatives later.]It is extremely quiet and quick. Double-sided printing is possible by manual feed and is simple to accomplish for single sheets, if you are next to the printer. If you are like me and just want hard copy with little fuss, I don't think you will find a better value.

This cartridge was the worst of many, MANY I have bought! Lots of black spots on white backgrounds and white dots on black backgrounds. Ran dozens of pages through to see if it would go away - it didn't. I"m going to try to return it. Wish me luck. :-) Buy someplace else...

Like a lot of others I tried to save a couple of bucks. This product is extreamly messy and the end result was that my printer refused to work until I purchased a new cartridge and so I wound up disposing of this messy product and will never again purchase this item again.

I was really pleased with this printer. I purchased it to use in my hotel during a long-term contract assignment thinking I could leave it behind when my assignment was over because the price was so low, but ended up shipping it home because it is such a great printer. It is fast, quiet, easy to set up, does not take up lots of room, and the print quality is superb. I highly recommend this printer.

Despite another review, this toner does in fact work with the 3312ND. I happened to order this cartridge once from another vender that was selling non-US spec toner which didn't work, but the ones sold directly from Amazon have worked in my 3312ND printer.Also, I seem to get about 8k pages from these cartridges...just skip past the message on the screen and keep printing.

This toner cartridge worked great when we first bought it. After about 5 weeks of very light printing (I'm talking one or two pages a week) the "low toner" indicator light came on, and it would no longer print (must be an error with the sensor, as the print quality was great until it stopped working). In any case, Circuit City would not help with getting it exchanged as it was after their 30 day guarantee (which really means 30 day limitation of their liability.. lets not pretend this is for the consumers' benefit!!). Dealt with a few very rude and unhelpful Circuit City customer service reps (read the other reviews - they do not answer their emails, you must call them and wait on hold for a response). I've now been pushed to Samsung itself, but I'm after my return window. What do you do when the return window passes, but the product doesn't even deliver 10% of it's stated capacity? Bend over and buy another one from someone else for $60 + shipping.

I've had this printer for over a year. I LOVE it because I don't have to pay for expensive color ink and the quality of print is just excellent. I haven't tried it using Wi-Fi. I just wanted something simple and straightforward to use. The ink goes a long way. It's my favorite printer ever.

Samsung Monochrome Multifunction Laser Printer (SCX-4623FW)(windows XP)... bought this for $149 clearance at Of-Max. After my experiences with tempermental HP printer softwares I decided to find a lexmark, samsung or brother for under $200... This was it.what was not obvious when purchased...only 110 voltagecartridges are rated 1500 to 2,500 copies. Maintenenace of parts cycle starts at 25,000 copiesPros:-installed fairly easily, though I am still struggling with the wifi.-very good feature content for under $200-small foot print, can't get much smaller.-good capacity for loading... about 20 pages at a time.-most quite printer I have had yet.-light weight (judicious use of heavy/light plastic)-long term durability - time wil tell but seems right enough.cons:-instructions could be a little more helpful, over relies on intuitive design features.-I did not like print and scan manager... I use the windows scan manager-positioning of scans is difficult, tends to reset /find its own center-Instructions on wifi could be better- light/darkness range on copies and scannercould be broader (HP was good at this)- copies and scanns could be a little sharper... just a little grainyOverall, Great for home and small office. I would recommend and buy again (done with HP) especially at the price.

I've been using this toner cartridge for a month and it works perfectly in my Samsung ML-2510. It slides in easily and provides good quality documents without spots or smears. The last toner cartridge I bought was a different non-OEM cartridge and it was terrible; ink would smear all over the page. So I was hesitant to get another non-OEM cartridge. But at the price this one was offered at, it was too good to pass up and I'm glad I bought it. This cartridge has legitimately provided the same quality as an OEM cartridge at a fraction of the price and I will definitely buy it again when this cartridge runs out.

If you plan to use this printer wirelessly then DON'T BUY THIS PRINTER !!!!It is constantly losing network connections and it constatly telling you you need to reinstall the drivers.Spend hours searching for resolution. I wished I returned it imediatly to the store.SAMSUNG Knows about these issues and should recall this product

I received this printer about three weeks ago. It was very easy to setup using a network connection. And once I "locked down" the IP Address my computers could always find it on the network. Great prints, very quiet and virtually silent in sleep mode.But in "wireless" mode, the printer kept disappearing. I set it up on the network cable three times each using conventional and "ad hoc" architectures, and each time it would work for a while then stop. After repeated restarts and unpluging the power overnight, it would still not stay connected. Then, for no reason at all, it would suddenly print two days worth of qued jobs. I called Samsung and was told that they had never had anything like this happen before. And, naturally, since he was on the phone, the printer begin to work perfectly. I was then told, "If it happens again, call us and we will replace the unit. Obviously, something is very wrong with your printer."I called Samsung Customer Service again today. Now I am being told this is, "a known issue." Yes, of course, it is because I called two weeks ago. Now Samsung Customer Service (if that is their real name) is telling me I have to carry the unit in to a repair shop more than 60 miles away. When I pointed this out the serviceman, he argues with me and tells me it's only 19 miles away according to his "database." Then I asked about the repair, his "database" didn't have the answer. When I asked if there was a new firmware upgrade, he assured me that I was incapable of doing such a thing on my own. I pointed out that their own software, running on my computer, automatically downloads and installs firmware updates (and it had done so upon first setup). Never mind the fact I've been doing this kind of work since 1983 and have a degree in the field.In any case, I was lucking to still be able to return this item.I had been considering buying Samsung's 55 inch LED 3D TV later this year when the 3D Movies were available (I already have their 3D Blu-Ray Player), but if this is any example of their customer service, then I need to rethink the whole thing.

After reading all of these conflicting reviews, I was worried that I would get stuck with a printer that I couldn't connect to my Mac Mini and my Macbook. I am not an IT professional, or even very good at all when it comes to networks and related issues. Nonetheless, despite my worries, I couldn't find a better deal on a laser wireless printer from a brand I trust, so I bought it anyway and made sure I bought the SquareTrade warranty with it, just in case. I set it up on both of my computers in less than ten minutes. Rather than bothering with the most of the stuff on the CD or trying to find the drivers on Samsung's stupid website, I just popped in the CD, clicked the WiFi icon in the folder, followed the prompt, and then added the printer in System Preferences. I did this for both Macs. It was so easy that I thought I screwed up and missed some stuff. Nope. That's all I had to do. I'm sorry I even wasted my time reading all of the other reviews and worried about the setup. It took a few minutes. That's it. The only way it would take longer is if you did it wrong, which I guess would be easy, as I kind of had to guess as to what to do. The printer is awesome and a great deal. It's solid and obviously a quality product. It takes up less space on my desk than my old thirty dollar Canon inkjet printer, because it doesn't spit the paper out the side. If you have a mac, just select the pink/red WiFi button from the folder on the CD. Then go to System Preferences and add the printer. That's it. Best deal on a printer I could hope to get. It looks slick, is quiet, prints well for my school and home needs, and powers on and off with one button press.

We don't print that often and got tired of the Epson R800 inkjet's expense and failure, skipped ink lines, etc. so I bought this Samsung 2525w. I wanted a wireless network laser that can service three computers: a laptop XP, a desktop XP and a desktop Win7. It'd be nice for it to print from my iPhone4 but asking Apple to do something like printing is truly a joke. But I digress.Right after installation of the drivers, everything works fine. But after a couple of weeks, the computer simply cannot connect to the printer. It's like it forgets there's a printer connected. Or every software update to any of the computers throws the 2525w for a loop. Sometimes it is confused about which port it should be printing to; other times it just times out and gives an error report, even though it said it was ready to print.I have to repair or reinstall the driver almost every time I want to print. For instance, tonight I wanted to print two pages off the web. It took me 20 minutes to get the printer to work.And forget Samsung support. It's like talking to the other side of the world. Imagine that.On the plus side, once it's finally working, I love it. Fast, efficient, cheap. And its ink never dry out or clog the jets like that sucky Epson R800 does all the time.

I was a little worried by the reviews stating that you would get a refurbished, non-OEM cartridge. I saw someone say that Triplenet Pricing sent the "real" thing, so I took a chance and ordered from them and got the real thing (as far as I can tell - it is a sealed Samsung box with a Samsung holographic sticker on it). I took some pictures and if I can figure out how to upload them, I'll do it. Also, I have to say I was surprised at how quickly it arrived ... original estimated delivery date was anywhere from tomorrow to 5 days later, but I got it today.

This printer will not wake to print once it goes idle. It works a couple times great and then causes endless problems. I'm going to buy a new printer and throw this almost new one away.I've tried numerous fixes to no avail. Static IP. Reserved IP. No method I could locate to avoid idle.

I had older model of this printer the ML-2510. Which I paid like $40 after mail in rebate like 3 years ago. is time to replace since I was able to sell for more than I brought. The old printer sometime had problem printing more than few page and get overheat.It was only like $50 in office depot without any rebate for the new ml-2525.i like the color black over the old one which is grey too notice when is dirty, they fix the paper tray which the old was pretty bad design. and now they added a paper or evelope slop in the middle. This printer can't do duplex but if you can easily swap the paper for duple alike in that slot but only can do 1 page a time and might be a bit out of balance. Is great feature and still about similar design. however the power.I think brother toner is still cheaper than Samsung however the printer I saw was twice the price. Brother toner about $20 cheaper than Samsung for similar page yeild but again I don't likes to paid something in front too much. and typical entry level laser don't last for too long.

I plugged it into my WAN. Connected from my desktop and laptop with ease. Print is very nice. No issues so far.Okay, a year or so later. I love this printer. Except now the toner cartridge is empty. Well, that's no problem because I was smart and bought one of those toner refill packs about 5 years ago for my first laser printer and have never had to buy a toner cartridge since. It's a bit messy, but, if your careful, it's nothing that can't be cleaned up with a damp paper towel.Okay, so I carefully open up the toner cartridge, carefully pour in the new toner, close everything up, wipe it down and stuff the cartridge back into the printer. What!?! It still says it needs to be filled! After a few Google searches I discover that there is a computer chip in the toner cartridge that tracks pages printed and it CAN'T BE RESET!!! So, even though there was no problem before, and now I am certain there is enough toner in the cartridge, Samsung says I have to buy a new one or my printer is a boat anchor! ARGH!!!I've looked all over for a solution and the only thing I found was some oriental site that will sell a replacement chip but you have to solder it on. I am not THAT much of a handyman. So, now I have a useless printer from Samsung for one reason--and one reason only --STUPID, AGGRAVATING MARKETING!!! They got me, so maybe it isn't so stupid! Okay, well I COULD pay almost half what I paid for the printer to get a new cartridge--only to do it again when that one runs out of toner, but it would be a waste of money in the long run.Today I am back on Amazon to buy a printer from another manufacturer and will never buy a Samsung product again. Maybe the Samsung marketing GENIUS actually IS kinda stupid!

The price attracted me to he printer. I run a small home based internet business and use this everyday. To the point here are my known issue without a resolution:1. Can't use two of these printers (WIFI version) on the same router.2. There is a smudge on the right side of the paper with print-outs. It can't be fixed!3. You can't print the thicker sheet labels from the paper tray. But, can do it manually each time.4. paper jams easily.If you can live with a dirty printout then you can't beat this printer. I'm using two side-by-side. One wifi and the other usb for printous that I don't mind i it's dirty. Got one as low as 39 bucks(usb) and the other one $49 (wifi). I used a different printer for letters or presentation materials. Will update reiews here if I can find any solutions to the liste issues. God Bless All!

The Samsung toners were not in the retail boxes as stated in the ad. They were simply wrapped in bubble wrap with no boxes. I talked to Samsung representative and was told that if not in specially sealed boxes, no guarantee that they were not simply re-loaded toners. I let amazon.com know and the dealer. I called and e-mailed the dealer to get a return authorization for the toners, but have never received any type of response from GREEN CARTRIDGE TECHNOLOGY LLC, 9009 CANOGA AVE STE B, CANOGA PARK, CA 91304-1540. It has now been four weeks since receipt and the time for return has passed. Very unprofessional for a company to ignore customers. I own a business and would NEVER treat my customers so poorly. I will never order from GREEN CARTRIDGE TECHNOLOGY LLC again.Afraid to use the toners because tampering could have occurred. Out $100.Also, amazon informed me that they would follow up on my request for return authorization and they never did.

I spent two days trying to figure out why the updated drivers from Samsung's website wouldn't install and Windows7 didn't seem to know what kind of Printer I was installing. Turns out I didn't have the printer I bought. Not Amazon's mistake this was a 3rd party purchase. Amazon customer service was great - sent me a return label and I sent the printer back. I went to a big box store and bought the ML-1865W and it's a great little printer! I am one of those people who rarely prints at home - an inkjet isn't practical for people like me. The toner won't dry out between uses and the quality is very good. I'm very happy with the printer.

Followed instructions and installed on iMac with Time Capsule using CD ROM and then with downloaded drivers - neither worked. Printed fine with USB connecting printer and iMac. In wireless mode the printer was "not connected" or "off line". Called Samsung and tech rep walked me through the same installation process I had already performed and said I needed to talk to a Tier 2 tech rep. He took my phone number and gave me a transaction number and said I'd be called back the next day between 8-11am PDT. No return call so I called back and was told Tier 2 reps are really busy but I was on the list. Called back 3 more times over a 10 day period with same response, i.e., NO response. Returned the printer and got a refund. I'm now shopping for another brand of wireless printer.

I wasted 2 days of my life trying to get this thing to work. It wouldn't print with the wireless or with USB cord. I tried everything, drivers, etc. But no printing, status box said not supported, horrible. Printers should just plug in. I finally figured it out, and it is an easy fix. After I got it going, the printer is great for the price.Oh, the fix... For USB plug in make sure your USB printer port monitoring is turned on. For wireless, make sure TCPIP printer port monitoring is turned on. That's it.

Великолепно

I had absoultely no trouble getting the wireless receiver to find my PC. It was instant. I dont understand how others had such a hard time. I love the printers small footprint. The printer is brand new and I just set it up so I can't attest to how long the ink cartridge will last but the ink is much less than using my color DeskJet for everyday printing. So far has been turn key just like things to go!

Великолепно

Space saving and money saving small little laser printer that works wirelessly. Well, that's exactly what I wanted. But, I'm still working through the steps of how to print with iPad and android tablets. Being wireless and wi-fi capable, it should print from tablet computers as well. For now, I'm happy to print in my office with my laptop in the meeting room.

UPDATE August 2011: After informing the vendor of my problem, they told me this was NOT normal behavior for their cartridges and then promptly sent me a new one, free of charge. Works like a charm now.-------------------Bought this based on majority of good reviews here, but hasn't been great choice for me. [Cartridge I received is labelled "ChromaCast".]Seemed fine at first, but weeks after installation, we realized that toner wasn't adhering to paper very well-- print could be rubbed off easily. Even worse, 1-2 months after using this cartridge, prints came out with vertical streaks of black which could be seen on green roller when examining cartridge. I'd wipe them off roller with soft tissue then prints would be clean, but smudges still return occasionally.Now print is getting light on the edges as if toner is running low, but I've shaken cartridge multiple times to be sure toner is evenly distributed... and don't see improvement.I need to ask for money back or a replacement unit (to see if I just got "one bad apple.")

After years of tossing away money for ink cartridges, I realized that for a non-photo printer (one primarily for text documents), it's absurd to not own a laser printer at the prices they now cost.The ML-1865W is as straightforward as can be; effortless set up (I downloaded & installed the latest driver from Samsung); it has an exceptionally-small footprint (of real value to cramped home office spaces), and two months later, it operates flawlessly. Print quality is virtually indistinguishable from a Postscript printer (I had a venerable HP Postscript Laser in the pre-USB days).A very useful piece of equipment and an excellent value.

PROSThis little thing does what other big laser printers do. I use this at home and it has the same speed as 70 pounds printer that i use at work. I love it.CONSThe down side to this printer is the cartridge are too expensive. The printer cost $49.99 while the cartridge cost $57. Your may as well buy a new printer everytime you run out of ink.

Item as described, but it didn't last even one year for us. Custom printing does not work. Tried printing an envelope and it broke...although I can still use the scanning only :(Even tried to replace the drum, maybe it will work but the papers still keeps on jamming even if I change the paper type.I should have not used it on any customize printing.We have a canon colored laser printer w/c is not all in one and it works great with customize printing..I was just trying to save my colored ink so I tried using this printer :/Btw this printer has an option for customize printing.

This printer is fast, easy to use, and it has a nice feature set. Toner use is on par with other laser printers I've used - no matter what brand, you're not going to get the yield advertised on the cartridge. Using this printer on toner save mode around 40% of the time, I get around 3000 sheets from a 10,000 sheet cartridge.Print quality was great at first but deteriorated quickly. The printer likes to print stripes down the center and edges of the page at random times; auto-cleaning the drum and fuser unit do not help. Other times, there is banding down the sides due to inconsistent ink coverage. Add to that Samsung's absolutely horrendous customer service (good luck getting your printer serviced under warranty), and it doesn't make for a fun ownership experience.I bought this printer to replace a consumer-level Lexmark with a blown fuser unit. I was attracted to its seemingly good toner usage and high monthly duty cycle. Ignore both - it has some nice features and may be fine for your home or office if print quality are not very important to you, but it does nothing to elevate it above all the other printers on the market in this pricepoint, plus the manufacturer barely supports it, and there are serious print quality issues.

I'll just give it five stars for now, benefit of the doubt. But I have a tip for Mac users: when I went to add the printer in System Prefs, it wasn't there, but I noticed on installation that it said "installing printer driver installer", so did a search for that and whaddya know, there it was, so opened that and went through the driver install, then bing, there it is in the list of addable printers. Maybe that was in the manual, but I sure didn't see it anywhere. Ok go.
