I've been using this monitor for about two weeks now. It's great. I love the base and how it has a small little tray, which I use to keep pens and pencils and stuff, whether or not that was the intent. It also goes "to sleep" when the computer turns off so you don't have to worry about powering it on and off all the time. Overall, good monitor for the price.

I ordered this monitor as the screen for my laptop cannot satisfy my need. And I got exactly what I want!The screen is wide: 16x9 is the optimal size at which human eyes can see. And it's crystal clear. I also love the design--smart and stylish. A plus will be the speakers integrated within the monitor, the quality of the sound is so much better than that of my laptop!As for the cons... Not really, I don't have any problem with it, at least for now--I just got it for 4 weeks.But so far so GOOD!!!

Where to start.... I have been using a NEC 1700M+ LCD Monitor since 2001, and paid $1000.00 for that monitor. This HP L2208W LCD Monitor replaced it, for $182.00, including s/h.Even tho I did not buy this HP L2208W Monitor on Amazon, I will say a bit about it here.This is a great monitor. It is BRIGHT and CLEAR. I opted for This particular model over the HP w2207h because of the Anti-Glare screen, and I really don't need my monitor to flip sideways like the w2207h monitor does.This HP L2208W has no USB Ports and No Speaker built in. I did order the SpeakerBar for it from Amazon, and it fits great and the sound is good for what it is. The Monitor has a nice tilt feature, but no swivel feature, which I can live with. My only gripe would be that is doesnt have any USB Ports built into the Monitor, but again, something I can live with.The Stand is VERY Sturdy and Overall I am quite impressed with this HP L2208W LCD Monitor. If anyone is worried about glare on the screen, there isnt any, which makes online gaming, as well as offline, pleasurable.If you are in the market for a 22" LCD Monitor, take a serious look at this monitor, I would be surprised at anyone who didn't like it.

Other than not noticing there are no USB ports, I am quite satisfied with the product although I would not recommend this for older computers. The shipping was fast and the monitor was securely packaged. I am using this on a 2002 Toshiba laptop and it works quite well although I had to download an updated driver for it. I have just become accustomed to the stretched screen and other than that I am pleased with the price and the product.

This monitor is so nice, you won't want to work on anything else! It's a large screen with rounded, glossy black frame and a smooth, glossy surface -- meaning there's some glare if you have backlight.A lot of people who do precision computer design don't like these monitors, but for people who like a bright screen with a sharp image, this is the cat's meow.Built-in speakers are not the loudest, so if you're a music or video fan, or work in a large or noisy place, you'll need external speakers.Monitor tilts but has no height adjustment. Also has a somewhat limited viewing angle -- it's very visible from most angles, but the light fades quickly if you're not directly in front (of course with a screen this size, you're almost always directly in front, so it's almost a moot point).

Bought this for my mother who had an ancient CRT monitor that looked all washed out and gray. We were amazed at the picture quality. We never tried the speakers though as we had some already. Highly recommended

First HD monitor I've owned and am very happy with the picture and sound this unit provides. Sharp, crisp picture and easy to get up and running (plug in power, plug in choice of cable -VG, DMI or HDMI - and your off and running.Possible downsides for this monitor 1.) no height adjustment (there is tilt control), and 2) an HDMI cable is not included with the package (VGA and DMI cables are included). Since HDMI cables are available online for as little as $.01 (shipping @ $6.00), this is not too big of a deal.All in all, great bang for your computing buck.

As an Apple devotee, I feel like a bit of a traitor writing a positive review of an HP product, but WOW this thing is great! I bought it as a second monitor to my MacBook. Apple MacBook MA701LL/A 13.3" Notebook PC (2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD SuperDrive) - BlackThe color is brilliant, the contrast is impressive, the text pops and it's just plain beautiful to look at, even if you are working. I literally find myself working on things because I don't want to take my eyes off it.While I love the look of Apple's cinema monitors, the price point is just so high. The HP w2207 represents a far more reasonable price point. Also, if you're a writer like me, HP makes a clip system for this series of monitors, so you can have a document holder off to the side without having to glue something to side of your monitor untiil the end of time.If you're an art director, graphic designer, or similar artists thinking, "Ah-ha, this guy's a copywriter. What does he know about monitors?" Well I've been in advertising since 1996 and I've seen all kinds of monitors and this is one of the most impressive I've ever seen at any price.Also, I took sometime to compare this model to others available for sale from a variety of manufacturers and no one matches the image quality in my opinion. This might seem strange for HP to come out on top in comparison to other companies that specialize in monitors, but the truth is people largely, buy their computers based on the quality and look of the monitor. Apple realized this early on and apparently someone told HP too. I wonder how many HP computer bundles are going to be sold based on the performance of this beauty?Sure, it takes a little adjustment both on the monitor itself and on the display portion of the system preferences, but it's easy enough.Plus, the built in speakers are much better than you'd expect from a monitor and the built in 2 USB hub is a nice little touch. More would have been better, but an extra usb port is always nice.All of this said, there are some flaws with this monitor.1. The rotating screen landscape-or-portrait function is great, but it doesn't work with the MacBook in Mac mode. What I'm talking about is the ability to physically turn the monitor and have the display go into a portrait arrangement. It's probably too much to ask for from a monitor made by a PC manufacturer, but it would have been nice if the software bundle would have included something for us, Mac people. It still works with the MacBook just fine in landscape mode, but it would have been nice to have this particular bell and whistle.2. The monitor does have a DVI connection as well as an analog VGA connection, but it only comes with an analog VGA wire. Don't settle for VGA, when there's DVI to be had! Order a DVI wire with your order like this one.Cables To Go 2m DVI-D M/M Dual Link Digital Video Cable The response time is appreciably faster than with VGA. It's slight, but it's there.3. Hopefully, this won't be an issue, but its warranty is for only one year, while others come with a three year warranty. This is a little disconcerting, but I'd rather have one year of looking at this screen than 3 years of looking at washed out or drab monitor.4. The screen does pick up reflections more readily than other flat panels.And even with these shortcomings, I've still got to give it 5 stars. It's just that beautiful!UPDATE: Although mine did not, this monitor now does come with a DVI cable. So you won't need to buy one separately.

Very satisfied with this purchase. The cartriges are new, genuine HP cartriges and are a much better price then from a walk in store. They were delivered in 2 to 3 days. I have to say that I have always been pleased with orders from Amazon and the timely manner that products from them are received. Always my first place to check when I need to order something online.

The only way you can get any measurement of 20-inches is diagonal. Otherwise it's pure marketing hype! You must view the screen directly or their is a lotof glare. If I had not received a gift certificate and their was free shipping and no tax, this would have been in the box on its way back to Amazon.

I purchased another brand monitor and they were out of stock, so I chose this HP2009M 20" HD LCD Monitor instead and I am so glad I did. The picture is wonderful, the screen is large enough to have 2 pages up at the same time and it is beautiful. Thanks Amazon and HP for allowing me to get this one instead of the other monitor originally ordered. You are the greatest. I purchase quite a bit through Amazon.com and I have never been disappointed.

I bought this monitor just over a month ago and I absolutely love it, with one small exception. The 1080p resolution is awesome and having multiple inputs is great. I have it connected to my computer with the DVI cable and the picture is great. I also use the HDMI cable input for my PS3. Now my problem is that there is no audio output on the monitor itself(for headphones or external speakers). With no headpone jack on PS3, I'm stuck with using the built-in speakers. This is true for any device you connect with HDMI. Other than that, this a great monitor and I highly recomend it as long as you dont need it for anything other than a computer monitor, as you can connect whatever speakers you want to the computer itself.

When I upgraded my camera, my old monitor froze up and said NO Way...I needed a higher quality monitor! After reading tons of reviews and comparison shopping for price, I ordered the HP 2009M 20 inch HD LCD Monitor from Amazon. It was by far the best quality for the money. It arrived in just a few days and only took a few minutes to set up with Windows Vista by going to the HP site and downloading a driver. My photos and videos are vivid and clear! The built in speakers aren't bad either for general use. It adjusts easily and look so sleek on my work desk. I totally love it!Steff

This screen is amazing! Even though I'm using a VGA output (my laptop lacks a DVI output), this screen gives crisp images and flawless compatibility with my HP Pavilion tx2000z (NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 video card). It provides a parking space for a keyboard, which really helps in conserving desk space. The speakers are great too.I wish the speakers had more bass. The menu controls could have been better.

I havent installed the ink yet. I can only hope this ink works and doesnt dry up fast. This printer is actually pretty good with ink. there have been months I havent used this printer and the ink still works. so I will have to let you know later I guess when I finally install it and by then I hope its not dried up.

So far i just love it. I use it to play PS3 and Xbox 360 via HDMI. The graphics looks so awesome. Totally recomended for gamers. I also use a Mac with a dvi changer to HDMI 1080p. The only thing i miss is an RCA input.

I bought the monitor about a month ago. I am a software engineer and work contanstly on computers. I'll make this short and sweet:1) This is a very bright, very wide monitor. I love the brightness. It is brighter than my other dell monitor that I have by a longshot.2)Very attractive. I have gotten a lot of postive comments on the looks and the brightness.Only bad thing I have found is that occasionally you will see some screen flicker. However, I see this occasionally in my dell monitor. Not exactly sure what that comes from, but I don't think it is specific to this monitr.Would I buy it again or recommend it to a friend. Absolutely!!3), I don't use the speakers, so cannot comment on that.

Pros:Very clear image, thanks to DVI.Sound quality from speakers is much better compared to others I've owned.The screen itself is quite eye appealing, sleek and glossy.The resolution is not so bad.The wide screen is wider than most (16:9 vs. 16:10).Works right out of the package.Works very well with video games and movies.Great when two applications need to be open at the same time.Great cable management via an opening in the base of the monitor.Cons:Glossy screen oftentimes reflect objects anytime a light source is present.Summary:Great screen, great quality, great image, but, as all products come with something to dislike, I disliked the reflections on the glossy screen.

I really like this monitor. The colors are perfect. I did need to get a new video card because my old card did not support the 1920 by 1080 resolution.The sound is good but not great. I use it though because it enabled me to get rid of the wires that connected my old speakers.

This was very easy to set up and use. The picture is sharp and clear. The only thing I don't like is viewing pictures of people on it. The widescreen makes everyone look short and fat. I tried making the picture thinner but it didn't work. If anyone knows how to do this, let me know.

I thought the wide screen would be cool, however my wife and kids game me a hard time when it arrived, however after about 1 week we all got used to the monitor and know I would say the whole family loves it! For the price a great deal! Easy to use and works great!

The monitor is really nice. My only complaint is regarding the connection cable. I have a laptop with only vga out. This monitor came with DVI cable. It was an inconvenience to buy a VGA cable from PC Liquidators for $5. If you try to buy from bestbuy its $29 and other online shops would ship it for $12. But the bottom line is you will have to wait for about a week before you can use this monitor.

I bought two of these to run in a dual monitor configuration. Product performs well. I really like being able to have two pc's plugged into one monitor and switch back easily from the front controls. I have a Samsung 20" at the office which is very comparable to these HP's.Only thing I don't care for is the high glossy screen, picks up more light than I'd like...but can live with it.

It's a great product I received the monitor really fast. It does what I need it to and it is very crystal clear. The only thing I noticed was it doesn't adjust left to right or up, down. It just tilts back and forth. But other then that it's a really good monitor.

I just got this monitor at Best Buy. Normally I buy online, but while I was checking out monitors the salesperson at Best Buy said he had the HP and it was a floor model that he could sell me for one third off. Read all the reviews and bought it. I never thought to look at HPs. I was focusing on Acer, LG, and Samsung. This monitor was not plugged in at the store but what sold me on it (in addition to the price and reviews) is:1) It looks stunning: the black piano frame is awesome; more importantly, the stand is the best of any manufacturer's stand I looked at; it is the only one I saw that had a substantial stand that did not look industrial yet swiveled, tilted, and had a great height adjustment2) It has a glossy screen: I have one on my MacBook and and the reflections are sometimes annoying, but this screen's reflections are much less. I think that may be because I don't move the monitor around into brightly lit areas and I can control the lighting in the room where I have my computer. The monitors with glossy screens as opposed to matte screens looked far more lifelike with better color rendition.3) The specs looked good, although I noticed that great specs don't always translate into a great image.4) There were complaints about the power button on the Samsung monitors lighting up a room. Not the case here as the power button is on the top of the monitor with just a faint light indicating its location.Then I got it home (no box; just a plastic bag over the screen to protect it from scratches). I plugged it in, attached my DVI cable, made a few easy adjustments, upgraded my GeForce nVIDIA 6800 video card's drivers (I had to do this; when I played movies the frame rate was very slow) and had the best looking image I have EVER seen on a monitor. STUNNING. Deep, rich, colors, black blacks, and white whites. It looks like I can step into my photos.On the downside, I don't appreciate that the warranty is only 1 year and most other manufacturers offer 3 years. Since I bought it with my Master Card Platinum card, that extends the warranty by another year. I will decide if spending $50 for an extended warranty (4 years) from Best Buy is worth it.I do notice that if I move my head vertically up and down relative to the screen (this is not something I would normally be doing), the contrast changes drastically (same thing if I am off to the side). I believe this is true for all large, widescreen monitors.Bottom line, I am thrilled beyond belief to have this monitor on my desk. And, it takes up little more desk space than the 4:3 ratio 19 inch monitor that I previously used. Highly recommended!

I use HDMI and the monitor is great. Frame rate good. I hooked up vga with an older video card and I didn't like it. I don't recommend using with vga although it could have been the old video card I used?Good size, for native hdI have 2 dead pixels after 6 months of use. but they are hardly noticable.

I recently replaced a Samsung 19" flat screen with this monitor, and it is fantastic. No dead pixels, it is bright, has good contrast, and is all-around very sharp. I like the widescreen format too. I would have given it 5 stars, except for that the screen is so glossy that if I'm, say, watching a movie, and it cuts to a dark scene, I suddenly see myself reflected in it. Right now I can see myself reflected in the dark wallpaper I have on the desktop. I'd say the reflectivity is similar to that of the underside of a DVD. Also, keep in mind that this monitor does not have a DVI input, so if you get it and only have DVI, be sure to get a DVI to HDMI adapter in your order. It'll save you a last-minute trip to Fry's.
