I was looking for a monitor and ran across this one. I read the reviews here and on other sites and this monitor got great reviews everywhere I looked. So, I went ahead and got it despite the fact that it's an HP. I wasn't disappointed. I don't know that there is anything I can add that hasn't already been said but this monitor is everything everyone says it is and more. The colors are sharp and crisp. I highly recommend it and for the price you really can't go wrong. Amazon delivery was on time and everything worked right out of the box.

Nice balanced colors right out of the box.I use it for PC/HDTV watching at the same time with a dual-tuner Hauppauge card controlled by Windows Media Center.No tools needed for base install. Has D-ring screw on the bottom just turn it with fingers. Upper base snaps in and just push in button to remove. Constuction is very professional with lots of metal incorporated into the base underneath the plastic.Easy to adjust if needed with buttons along bottom right edge. i prefer a nice click of a real button to a flaky capacitive "button".The power converter is very small and barely gets warm. No speakers...just the way I wanted it. I use M-Audio self-powered studio monitors with a Polk Audio PSW 111 Subwoofer. Clean and balanced sound. Why pay for tiny "speakers" you won`t use ? I`d rather have all the money go into the monitor.The construction for the price is a cut above what I have seen on other brands. Very impressive !HDMI/DVI/VGA inputs...fantastic. HDMI/DVI are both HDCP compliant. Watching Blu Ray movies on it right now. Looks great.Also use it for FPS/Racing games such as Dirt2/3. NO GHOSTING , clear , great colors , fantastic.It comes packaged very well with super-simple instructions if you need them. Don`t bother with the disc...just go to monitor in device manager...auto-search for latest driver , and Windows will download and install it.My only concern was when I first ordered it with free Super-Saver Shipping , it was taking too long and the price was $229.I cancelled the order , joined free trial of Amazon Prime , re-ordered same monitor , and price dropped to $213 ! Paid NO tax or shipping !Anyone know why Amazon raises/lowers prices like that ? Do they do it to entice you to buy it , knowing you cancelled ?Is the price I see the same as other people at the same time ? I`m happy I got it so cheap...just wondering why.

I've been using this same LaserJet 1100 for a decade. Toner cartridges last me multiple years. This one is starting to run low after only a few months. It can be difficult to know on Amazon if you're really ordering a genuine HP cartridge, or if it's a knock-off. All I know is this one has lasted something like 1/6 as long as other cartridges I've owned; some purchased retail at big office supply stores, and a couple even refills. I won't be ordering from this particular seller again.

I have the HP 2511x and I love it. I had a 24" Dell ST2420L for 2 months and it kept going into sleep even while using the desktop. I went through Dell's tech support, did lots of tests, replaced cables, moved the monitor to another system and it was determined to be a bad monitor. Although I love Dell products, I was never really thrilled with the color on that monitor. So I purchased the HP 2511x and set it up next to the Dell and the difference is night and day. I literally smile looking at the HP 2511x. It's a glossy screen. Matte screens are created by an etching process that dulls the colors to my eyes. I'm in a very bright room, two story windows behind me. There is a touch of glare on sunny mornings, but I find that I don't notice it at all. I suppose it's because I'm so content over the rich color. The Dell is getting returned today.Besides loving the color, there are a few other differences that make this monitor superior to the ST2420L. The On/Off and Menu buttons are actual buttons. They're tucked under at the very bottom of the bezel, so you don't see them, but they are easy to find. The Dell had soft buttons. Try turning off a monitor at night when you can't feel the button. I was so frustrated with trying to locate the Dell's on/off button. Minor, but a welcome upgrade in the HP. The HP has a small aqua-blue light that indicates the power is On. If you don't like that, there's a setting to turn if off. Personally, I like it.The ports on the back are easy to find and feel. The Dell's were tucked up under the back, I couldn't find them unless I turned the monitor around and upside down slightly. Again, minor, how often do you need to change cables, but a welcome upgrade.HP included HDMI, DVI & VGA cables. Dell only included a VGA cable.Anyone who has read a review of the HP 2511x having a wobbly base, it could be because the base was put on backwards. I had it backwards on my first try which caused it's tilt to not have full function and wasn't very stable. It's all good now.

It's nice to know that if I need ink in a hurry, HP has me covered. Depending on what time of day you place your online order, HP makes it a policy to get that ink to you the NEXT DAY. Don't ask me how they do that... but THEY DO.

This HP monitor is a gorgeous addition to any desktop setup. The 25" makes it perfect for editing documents, watching movies, or doing graphic work. The piano black bezel of the monitor is high-gloss and looks sleek and minimalist. I'm currently using it as a second display, to complement at 15.4" ThinkPad; it works marvelously connected to a laptop, or as part of a desktop setup.The display is crisp, clear, and doesn't 'burn-in' at all. Contrast is, as noted by other reviewers, excellent. Saturation can be easily adjusted to fit one's needs, and different settings are navigable through the options menu (accessed by buttons on the side of the unit). The acceptable viewing angles surpass most/many other screens I've used. My only complaint (which is more a preference) is that the screen itself is glossy, rather than matte. This means that glare from outside light sources can be more disruptive to the viewer. Despite this, it still deserves five stars: the price point is excellent, and the image quality is superlative.

This HP LA2205wg monitor is everythink I was hoping for. I own a HP w2207h and I wanted a second monitor that will work with my first. They are great together. If your looking for a HDMI monitor that rotates portrait / landscape and adjust up/down and forward/back you will love this monitor. The graphic colors are the best and the picture is clean and sharp. You won't be disappointed in the monitor.

the ink jett cartridge is fine...but I would not order it again! First, the order was duplicated and the charge doubled out of my checking account...with no explanation. Returning info was confusing...I ended up returning it to amazon.com and am STILL waiting for my credit. It has been over 6 weeks now. I would gladly pay Staples their inflated price, rather than go throough this again!

My HP vs-19 LCD monitor quit suddenly after about 6 years of steady use so I began a hunt for a replacement. I was attracted to this monitor because of its features. It was offered at a very good price and I was stuck using my laptop and lost access to many of my files and applications. I finally ordered this one as a compromise between the smaller and the larger one. When received, I plugged it in and was pleasantly surprised with both the ease of installation and the quality of the display! It has full HD aspect ratio and both VGA and DVI-D inputs for those with high end video cards. It comes with a DVI-D as well as a VGA cable so no need for cable purchases! The native 1920 x 1080 resolution is incredibly sharp and the colors are brilliant! I was impressed when viewing and editing photos with the clarity and resolution. At the price offered, I would not hesitate to buy this monitor again.As a side issue, by combing the Internet I was able to repair my old monitor. Seems as though it's a common power supply problem in LCT monitors so by replacing three electrolytic capacitors, I was able to bring it back to life! The new monitor had already shipped so I had a quandary, return the new or not? Once I started using the new one, the question became academic. No question I was keeping the new one and the resurrected one was headed to my summer place to replace an old CRT monitor. Really, at the price, I would consider replacing any monitor you had that was more than 5 years old. It would be hard to find a monitor with these features at such a good price!

If you are looking for two new HP brand print cartridges, one black, one color, in a single "dual" package, that is exactly what this is. This product is exactly as it was advertised. The package shipped within a day and arrived very quickly, in just a couple of days. I have not used these yet as my existing ink cartridges are not yet quite empty. When I place these in my printer, I'll add my thoughts here.

I'm not a computer expert or anything like that. I just needed another computer monitor because my old one stopped working. I had a old HP monitor I had been using since 2002. So ten years later, I figured I would get a bigger HP monitor to replace it. So far it has worked wonderfully.

I recently bought a Toshiba Portege with a 13.3-inch LED display, the laptop has been amazing this far but the size of the screen is not that great for multitasking, so I was looking for an extra display of a larger size that would allow me to multitask in a better fashion (because ALT+TAB is not always the best option in a screen with that size)The screen is definitely larger than I anticipated and quite slim, which is not a complain but the opposite, the level of detail and definition it offers is excellent, the widescreen wallpaper I had looked pixelated and with a poor resolution once I added the extra monitor. Configuration was quite simple, the box does include a CD (that I should mention was not even opened) Windows 7 connected to the internet and found whatever drivers it needed and I started working on it in a manner of minutes.The box also includes the video cables, except for HDMI, fortunately I had an extra 2-meter HDMI cable, I plugged it and needless to say results were fantastic on screen (1920 X 1080 resolution),though it was a little bit awkward to have this big screen with the sound coming from the laptop, quite a mismatch!Of course there are other monitors, different brands and sizes, so I can definitely recommend this if you need a larger screen to work in; in my experience, I have seen that when you have too many applications running at the same time it is always better to have a second monitor, makes you more efficient without having to switch between apps. The 25-inch size is quite good on its own for you to have different apps running. If you are not a heavy user, in the sense that you do not have multiple applications running all the time, a smaller monitor may be a better option. For my needs, this one works great and exceeded my expectations.

I have had this monitor for a little over a month now and I have never been happier. The picture quality of this monitor is mint and I have seen few LED TVs that have out performed this monitor. In fact I have a 1080p 42" Sharp TV that it easily has a much crisper image. If you are debating on this monitor I recommend buying it. It's worth every penny.

I recently upgraded my monitor from this to an Acer HN274HBbmiiid; I wanted a 27" screen capable of 3D Vision 2.I'm sad, because as good as that monitor is, HP has a tendency to have most of their monitors to have a glossy screen; when viewed in dimly lit or dark rooms, no other type of screen comes close. Gives the image a sharper look, and just looks beautiful and professional.I really wish HP made a 27" 3D screen, because I've had this w2338h since 2009, 2010 and it's been very reliable and ideal for gaming-- The color reproduction on this thing is amazing, and blacks look really deep.I'm going to miss this beauty, and if you're not looking for 3D or something really big (27" is huge), I would HIGHLY recommend this monitor! It will last you years and treat your entertainment media viewing needs exceedingly well.

Wonderful! Just plug it in, (I used an Amazon Basics HDMI cable) and it works perfectly. It is bright, clear, and big. In fact it is really bright. I had to adjust it down a little out of the box, but that's the only issue I have had. HP does it right.

Great colors, very sharp and clear. Pretty much the highest pixel density you can get on a 1080p monitor.The menus aren't too bad and the display options actually change the picture.The monitor itself is solid enough, but feels flimsy with its light weight. I don't think it will break easily or anything, just an observation.Please note that the matte finish on the screen makes bright colors look granulated; a tradeoff for no fingerprints or glare. This bothered me at first but I am now used to it.I'd suggest purchasing this monitor if you use your computer in a bright room, particularly one with glare problems. Otherwise, the matte finish may not be for you.

This replaced an old tube-monitor. I know - I can't believe I still had it either! Do you know how much those things weigh? And they take up SO much space, too! Ugh. Anyhow I was very happy to finally swap it out with this thing - a cool new hi-def flat screen LED display.What I noticed right away was how incredibly light this thing is. I don't even think it weighs 2 pounds (although maybe I don't notice cause I go to the gym so much!)It was easy to setup. I didn't see any directions - well, there's a CD which is odd. Well, maybe not odd - It's weird to me that they don't include manuals anymore. The CD had a manual on it and other documentation. I didn't use it. I did see a big sheet with pictures attached to the front of the screen but it wasn't all that helpful. I was able to assemble the stand myself with no tools in under 2 minutes. The base feels light but - it supports the screen just fine.What I liked most about this display was that it allowed for 3 different types of input: It wasn't all that clear on the main page what hookups this thing had. Let me tell you - it has:1) VGA2) DVI3) HDMIWe were using this on an old PC, and needed the VGA hookup. Yes, I know it's lame but we'll be upgrading that PC soon enough so I'll rave about the HD qualities then!I thought the screen color was off - a bit yellowed - but I'm sure that can be fixed with the settings once I mess about with it. I also have to tinker with windows to get it to show in this widescreen format. We'll see. I'd also be interested in hooking up my Roku box to this. I bet this would make an excellent display for something like that.Overall I like it a lot. It takes up very little space on the desktop (especially when compared to the monster it replaced) and it looks cool.I'll try to update this review in time once I have more time to play with it!

This monitor deserves all the praises for its picture quality but it being glossy presents a serious problem.I sit in a room where the window blinds behind me allow a little bit of light to "leak" through.Those "strips" of light are clearly seen (reflected) on the screen and are impossible to ignore. Also, my wifehas her desk right behind me and when her monitor is on I can clearly see it reflected on the screen.I will probably end up returning it.If you have ANY source of light IN FRONT of the monitor (behind is OK), think twice before buying.

The 25" size is huge more than I need but I love it, great & crisp picture right out the box only adjustment I did is brightness it was too bright, down to 60 was great for my room, colors are very accurate , I could not tell the difference between this and IPS Monitors the same size wich cost twice as much, I do Photoshop, and Video editing , the glossy screen makes everything looks sharp and clear and no reflection at least in my environment, make sure you connect the DVI cable that came with it Or HDMI not included , DVI and HDMI are pure digital and that makes a big difference don't bother with VGA( VGA is analog ) its not worth it with this great Monitor, short and simple this Monitor is the biggest bang for the buck out there, this is my third Monitors in 12 years , Very happy with it. Amazon is one of my favorite and trusted places on the net, very reasanable price fast shipping couldn't be happier.

I love the monitor's display. Colors are bright and crisp and text is easy to read. If you want a single monitor to SIT ON YOUR DESK, this is a terrific choice.However, unlike 95% of the monitors out today, this one is NOT VESA mountable. Are you kidding me? I bought two of these specifically to mount them. Who would have thought a mainstream computer manufacturer would be so behind the times. Mounting is a common feature on monitors and has been for some time. How hard would it be to include a VESA mounting option??? This will be the last purchase I make from HP. As I said in the title, it's examples like this that make it easy to see why HP is foundering.

I bought this HP2511X from Amazon last fall after trying a few other known brand LCD and LED monitors! The other monitors were either way too bright, not having true colors, missing crystal clear text displays or they had extremely poor video quality. This one turned out to be having a very good balance of all! It's not the best when you compare it with much more expensive top quality monitors. But for the price, it's a quality budget 25" monitor! I don't want to spend time to describe how great this monitor is as there are already a lot of reviews about it! Just want to share with you my thoughts on the display settings. Try it out yourself and see if you like it! If you don't, just stick to your own preference! Here is my settings - Brightness: 78, Contrast: 65, Color: Quick View - Custom, Image Control: Sharpness - 4 with Dynamic Contrast Ratio set to "Off".

I'm a medical professional. I do NOT use this monitor to look at high resolution images such as X-rays, radiographs, CT, or any other imaging. I ONLY use this monitor for daily computing for about 2 months now, hooked up to my MacBook Pro as an external display. Here are my impressions:Pros:+Works very well with my 2009 MacBook Pro+Bright, clear images+Good for writing, text is very readable+Good color reproduction+Lightweight+Stable foot stand+Good options for connectivity: 1 HDMI, 1 VGA, 1 DVI+InexpensiveCons:-Glare due to the glossy screen-No webcam, speakers-Limited ergonomic adjustability-Needs an adapter or extra cable for use with my Macbook Pro-Bezel is thick (1 inch)-Not as high resolution as Apple's 27 inch Cinema Display (which costs 4 times more)-A little TOO light weight - when I push the buttons to activated the OSD, the screen moves a bit-Piano black finish is prone to dust collection, scratchesConclusion:If you want an inexpensive monitor from a reputable company, then you should consider this HP. At 25 inches, it hits the sweet spot between a somewhat cramped 23-inch, and a much more expensive 27-inch. I highly recommend this HP 2511X!**UPDATE: 9/1/2012: Monitor still works great, as good as the day I bought it. It's traveled with me to NYC, San Francisco, L.A. and back. Best monitor I've owned. I use this monitor for gameing and internet surfing.I would recomend this monitor to anyone looking to upgrade

** * * * 6 months EDIT: this monitor still works great and i am so glad i bought it * * * *I bought this monitor 3 months ago from HP.com (the student discount they offer is worth checking out, although it is similarly priced on Amazon when you factor in shipping). After doing a lot of research, I must say that it is the least expensive monitor i could find that is still Full HD. I wanted a reliable monitor that was not expensive but still offered 1080p. Unlike my old laptop screen that was glass, this one has a matte finish and i cannot tell you how much better it is. It doesn't hurt your eyes if you need to read text for long periods of time and it doesn't have any glares. It is supposedly energy efficient, though i wouldn't be able to tell.PROS:Great PriceFull HD with DVI (also has VGA)Lightweight and slim profileBright screen (i turned down the brightness to 85 and it is still really bright)Matte Finish that doesn't produce a glare (its much easier on the eyes)Comes with DVI and VGA cablesCONS:Power Supply is external (looks like a small laptop power supply for reference)No speakers built in (and therefore no HDMI)Conclusion: It is great if you want a decent sized computer screen that is Full HD for a low price, i would definitely recommend this to anyone.

The monitor is good. Nice sharp, crisp picture. The only downsides are:1) very thick bezel (when using two monitors this can be a little distracting) and2) no easy way to mount it. It would have been nice to have a standard VESA mount to be able to use a wall mount or two-monitor stand.

I was initially planning to purchase a 27" Mac monitor as I use Mac Pro. Then I started searching for monitors that are as good if not better than the Mac, and one of the reviews I read was mentioning the same thing. The buyer was after a Mac but ended up buying an HP, and when compared, the review said they were equally good. So I said I will give it a try. I am glad I did. My son has been an HP user ever since I got his first computer. he started off with an HP way back in 1997, and it is still in excellent condition. The most recent HP laptop he got is very good in terms of the screen, too. I am so happy with my 25" HP monitor. If you need an additional monitor, do not hesitate. Go for it.

I have had this monitor since August of 2009. So far, everything has been working excellently. No problems and the color is good. I only wish that this was still being sold, as I need a second monitor, and would like them to be the same, but I cannot justify dropping enough money for 2 monitors. Looks like I will end up having this and a newer version until such time as I can buy another. Kudos on a wonderful product!

Love this monitor! Had to replace defective monitor that was less than two years old, it just died on me!!
