I was specifically looking for another HP as I've loved my 2009m that I bought a couple of years ago. This monitor is for my main setup, so it is what I'll be using on a day-to-day basis. At first I was concerned at just how light the monitor is, but I needn't have been. Hookup was a breeze and in about 10 minutes I was in Brightview heaven! Simply wonderful picture and handles everything I've thrown at it. Although this isn't a gaming machine, I do use many types of multimedia and haven't been disappointed yet.If a glossy screen monitor is your thing, you shouldn't have any reservations purchasing this model. And at this price for a 25 inch monitor, you can't go wrong. One of the finest monitors I've ever had the pleasure of owning!

Well, this monitor is all that everyone else has written it up to be. Crisp, clear, thin, etc. The *only* failing point that I have found (and unfortunately sent two of them back to the factory for) was that although the manual stated that there is a VESA mount (and gives detailed instructions on how to install the mount), there is no actual mount available through the HP store to put on these monitors.Since most of my office is dual monitor VESA mount systems, we basically stop ordered 8 monitors and returned the 2 that we had recieved to that point. So although this was a fantastic monitor for all the reasons everyone else has previously stated, something as simple as an unavailable mount (looks like a small piece of metal in the diagrams highlighted in <...> ), we ended up returning/cancelling almost $6000 in monitors and instead went with a dell solution (pains me to say this)

I purchased this monitor in 2010. Several months ago (mid 2011) the screen started blacking out in the middle of whatever I was doing. The only way to get it to come back on is to unplug it from power source, wait for a few minutes and then plug it back in. It's getting worse and worse so that I can't even get through composing a short email without having to unplug it several times. This monitor is a piece of junk.

I find that the quality of toner deteriorates as a function of both time and storage conditions. I do not know what storage conditions promote deterioration. My personal experience is that the older the cartridge, the more I have to increase the contrast in the printer settings. My guidelines are to avoid toner older than 5 years old. I determine the age by requesting the copyright on the lower left hand corner of the back long side of the box. I strongly encourage readers to respond to their agreement or disagreement with this assessment.

Shipping quick and efficient but this is a recycled product and the printing quality is TERRIBLE. It was totally unacceptable and so I bought a new HP cartridge from Staples for a lot more money but at least it prints the way it is supposed to. Also HP products include a shipping label for easy recycling of the old cartridge. This product did not include that.

Arrived well packaged and easy to use. I read some negative comments about buttons on other screens. The buttons on the HP are easy, tactile. The image is very nice and backlit is really great. There was a comment about the stand. Yes, it is flimsy. It's not the best and would be better if it was heavier. The screen is very thin, barely an inch or so and lite. So, overall, it's been a treat to go to a screen this big and I've been able to adjust the brightness and other features without issue.Windows 7 64 recognized and it's been great.

Back in 2007 I outfitted my home office with all new HP equipment to include 2 laptops, a 23" monitor, and printer. Within a week the printer malfunctioned and was returned. Within a year both laptops were serviced for recalls. Within two years, all four pieces of HP equipment were out of service. I swore never to purchase HP again. Then I saw this monitor - right price, great reviews, perfect specs. I rationalized that 4 years later that maybe HP finally incorporated some level of quality control. Shame on me. The monitor arrived dead out of the box. The green light on the rear shows that it receives power, but there are no lights on the front and pressing the non-lit power button on the front produces no response. The defective monitor was received this evening and will be sent back in the morning. There will not be a third opportunity for HP to unload their junk on me.

This is an excellent computer, lending me to believe that HP puts a lot into their probook series of laptops. The touch pad is annoying, but not annoying enough to complain. And as far as the extra software, there was not a lot on it at all. And all you need is a good uninstaller (a third party one, I suggest either Revo or Advanced Uninstaller Pro). Took what I wanted off and I have no problems. This thing has so many other features as well. I would suggest not to uninstall any of the HP software, for some of them have been very helpful. Overall, this was a good solid buy, and I am very happy.Oh, and unless it is a high model specially designed LP, none of them have good speakers, so don't expect them to. Find a good pair of usb speakers and call it a day.

I bought this monitor for our main system where my wife mainly edits long complex Excel documents for a large financial company. I've never purchased an HP monitor before and jumped into this decision after a fairly new Viewsonic 22" died prematurely. The Auto Pivot feature was the main selling point, along with the size and price. Well.... this thing has gone into 3 days worth of nightmarish install problems. The auto-pivot feature never did work. The software package is a beast to install... and never seems to install all the components properly. (For instance, the check box to turn on Auto Pivot never worked... and after a while trying to re-install, I never even saw the check box again!) The main problem seems to be a conflict with using dual displays on a Windows PC (I'm running XP, btw). I can't even describe how many times I re-installed, shut down, cold starts, restarts, froze up, and had black screens! It is barely plug and play when the drivers aren't installed! Sometimes it works, sometimes Windows doesn't even list it as a second display. The design of this monitor is lacking too. The slightest pressure on the cabinet sides/frame cause pixels to distort--way too easy to damage the LCD. This is especially troubling since the pivot design involved muscling the thing to pivot it. You also have to lean the display way back before tilting or you'll hit its own base. Oh yeah... there is no side to side tilt--funny how they show you actually turning the entire base side to side in the manual. Slick, huh? The up and down adjustment doesn't lock... no clicks... and again, you have to grab the frame. The other main thing I hate about this display is the image quality. Curiously, I've always hated the display on one of our other HP products--a laptop. Harsh, narrow angle of view, uneven brightness across the display area from top to bottom--top being darker. When pivoted, this display has an incredibly narrow field of good viewing! At the best angle from a readable distance, the right quarter of the display (actually the top of the monitor) is dark. You would never want to do anything with graphics, photography or art on this display! The sharpness stinks too. When compared next to our Viewsonic (and the other Viewsonic I'm typing this on--we own 2) the difference is like apples and rotten, squishy apples.I'm going to return this unit as soon as I order another brand. I'm convinced now (after experiencing this display and the one on our laptop HP) that HP is putting cheap, crappy LCDs in their units. Junk. Pure junk.

I upgraded from a Samsung 205BW 20" monitor and am blown away at the difference. I'm extremely happy with the clarity, size of the picture, the depth of colors and how bright the screen looks. I've used it for reading PDFs, YouTube and gaming - mainly Mass Effect 2. The only thing I'm a bit disappointed with is the monitor doesn't have a VESA mount on the back, but that doesn't warrant a loss of a star due because its incredible performance far outweighs that con. The monitor is also powered by an external power brick which reminds me of a typical HP laptop power supply. The part number is 633288-001. This isn't such a bad thing, except the plug that goes in the back of the monitor is a bit flimsy and has a cord that is only about 1.5 feet long. This isn't long enough for the brick to sit on the ground where it belongs, so either it takes up desk space or you find another solution. I will be mounting my power brick to the side of my desk with some Scotch indoor outdoor mounting tape. As a whole, this monitor deserves all five stars for the price point.

HP ProBook 4530s is a satisfactory laptop computer, but I would recommend looking at equivalent computers before purchasing it. It does run a lot cooler than my old HP Pavilion dv6449us. There are many sales and I could have gotten a better price at a local store. This computer does not come with the usual Amazon easy return policy, TigerDirect has a different policy. If I had only known. Windows 7 loads faster than Windows Vista, but has a lot of little changes which are time consuming to re-learn. What happened to "edit - paste", why was that change necessary.

Although prices of LCD monitors continue to drop, the quality of these devices has been gradually increasing. However, when you purchase a bargain priced monitor you can't expect high-end performance. A good example of this fact is the L1940T monitor made by HP. It is a very cost effective monitor which comes with some features usually found on far more expensive models. Although you may not be paying extra cash for them, these niceties do come at a cost.First of all we'll cover the basics. The L1940T is a traditional "square" style 19" LCD monitor, with a 5:4 aspect ratio. By square I simply mean that it is NOT a wide-screen monitor. If you require a monitor with high resolution then this model may not be for you. The L1940T maxes out at 1280x1024 / 75Hz. Here is a more complete list of specifications for this device:* Display Type - Flat Panel/TFT Active Matrix* Overall Dimensions(including stand & base): 16.3"-W x 10.7"-D x 14.3"-H* Total Weight - 18.5 lbs* Color - Silver & Carbonite Black* Viewable Size - 19 in* Dot Pitch / Pixel Pitch - 0.294 mm* Max Resolution - 1280 x 1024 / 75 Hz* Max Sync Rate (V x H) - 76 Hz x 83 KHz* Video Bandwidth - 140 MHz* Response Time - 8 ms* Color Support - 24-bit (16.7 million)* Video Inputs - RGB, DVI* Display Brightness - 300 cd/m2 (nits)* Contrast Ratio - 700:1* Backlight Life Cycle - 40,000 hours* Average Power Consumption - 40 Watts (2 Watts in standby mode)* Voltage - AC 120/230 V (Auto Switching)* Max Viewing Angles - 140 (horizontal) x 135 (vertical)* Warranty - 3 Years (limited) Parts & LaborAs you can see, those specifications are adequate but not overly impressive. But now let's talk about the abundant list of features this monitor has to offer, which sets it apart from many other models in this price range. The L1940T LCD monitor has a plethora of mechanical and electronic adjustments. The adjustable base/stand allows you to adjust tilt, height and swivel. The pivot head allows you to adjust for portrait or landscape viewing. As mentioned in the specs above, you have a choice of using the RGB analog input or the DVI digital input. You can even hook up two different video sources to the L1940T (one digital and one analog), and select between them using the video input selector buttons on the front panel of the display. There is also a Hi-Speed USB upstream (type B) port and two open USB (type A) accessory ports. There are 5 buttons on the front of the LCD panel (below the display screen) which control power, auto calibration, menu, as well as '+' and '-' keys (which also serve as the video input selectors). From the on-screen menu you can adjust brightness, contrast, clock, phase, H/V size, H/V position, input select and color temperature. You can also select from the following languages: English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Chinese (simplified).Setting up the L1940T was a breeze. It has a fairly heavy feel to it, due to the bulky base/stand assembly. Because the stand is hinged, to allow height adjustment, and because the LCD panel can pivot and swivel, moving the monitor around can be a little awkward. I found the brightness and contrast were set too high, out of the box, but a few button pushes toned them down to more desirable levels. The factory preset color balance was very good, leaning slightly toward the cool side, and is easy to control using the on-screen adjustments. The auto calibration utility took care of the clock and phase settings without any interaction needed from myself. I noticed very little color banding, and I could see no ghosting whatsoever. When testing grayscale I found that the darkest shades all looked about the same; none of which were close enough to pure black. I think the problem here is with the excessive backlight bleed that this monitor has. The darkest backgrounds, such as black, look like dark gray smudges. Even with the brightness and contrast lowered drastically (which causes colors to look hazy and washed out), the backlight bleed-through is still quite strong. This is very unfortunate as this monitor would otherwise reach near greatness. I tested again and again for dead pixels but found none.I tested this monitor with both analog and digital inputs. Both produced decent results but the digital (DVI) connection yielded much better light gray response and produced less background noise during dark scene video viewing. Viewing angle performance is another limitation of this model. Horizontal viewing was decent up to about 80 degrees, after which the picture started getting darker and washed out (taking on a slightly pinkish tone). After passing the 100 degree mark the image started getting extremely dark and washed out. Vertical viewing angles are even more limiting, with the image starting to lose quality at as little as 50 degrees.I also tested the monitor with DVD video playback and some modest game play. Movie playback was decen

I just got this monitor after ordering it on black friday. I was lucky enough to get it on sale for 100$. I wish i would have read some where that this came with a VGA cable(no DVI cable) so here you go anyone else wondering. As far as the monitor goes its working! so thats nice. No dead pixels or anything like that, worked straight out of the box, very little set up required. As far as the infamous sticker mine came with it along the top but i just pulled it off with no problem and no mess left behind, i dont know if they changed the stickers up or if i just got lucky with it. The speakers are decent enough for my uses, they could be a lot better, but its something. The power button is on the bottom left of the monitor and it sticks out a ways and is a blue LED light when on but you can turn the light off in the menu. The size is pretty good, 20 inches is fine for me, and its nice and wide obviously.. Webpages dont look smashed together like they did with my old CRT monitor. Easy on the eyes both style and strain wise. The viewing angle could be better, but wont be too bad. Tilts easily and quite a bit. Brightness seems a bit too bright at 70(default)but im tweaking it trying to find what i like. The best thing about this monitor is probably the color its really fantastic. I had a viewsonic CRT before this and this beats the color on that noticeably and beats the color on my LCD Tv as well. Great color.I debated for a long time before purchasing this monitor, and the 50$ price drop was the deciding factor. Im perfectly happy with it.4/5

This is my second high-end HP monitor. I still love my HP 2207w LCD monitor and it's working as well as the day I bought it 4+ years ago. They actually don't make a monitor that fancy anymore. The 2207w has an amazing height adjustment mechanism and tilt. The monitor can be raised and turned to portrait orientation. The 2511x is just as good looking with the same piano-black gloss finish. The resolution is amazing and the slim LED profile is great.I would give this 5 stars, but the lack of height adjustment and the missing VESA mounting option are worth dropping a star. Still I would recommend this monitor to all my friends and colleagues. There is some confusion about a VESA wall mount adapter from HP. The manual states there is an adapter and gives a link for the general product search page at HP.com - however there is no adapter for the 2511x. I emailed HP and got the standard, automatic response (noting they got my question and would be contacting me shortly); however, they have never actually sent the answer to my question. No matter, this is a great monitor!! I do not think there is a higher quality, better looking monitor in this size at this price.

I purchased this monitor in December 2009. About a month later I figured out that there were certain gray shades that was not showing on the screen. Called HP support and was on for over one hours as they made me restart computer and do all of the unnecessary things to finally determine that yest something is wrong with the monitor. Just moving the monitor to another computer and still experiencing the same thing was not enough for them, they had to have me on the line for over an hour to justify replacing the monitor.OK, HP sent me a another monitor. Except this time it smelled like smoke and had a small crack on the side. So after buying a new monitor about one month prior, I received a refurbished reject. Well guess what, about one week after installing the refurbished monitor, it started to black out. Called HP again and went through the same support nightmare as before, to determine that the second monitor had to be replaced as well. I explained to HP that I was expecting a new monitor since I had just purchased my original monitor. They said no problem.I received the third monitor and I quickly noticed that it was also refurbished. Again the monitor worked for about one week and then the monitor menu started to appear with a loop that no matter what I pressed would not go away. Yes you guessed it I had to call HP again and go through the same lengthy process one more time. HP support is jut horrible. They said that they would send me another monitor. I said I needed to speak to the highest person possible because I would not hang up until someone gave me their name and number and told me that I would be getting a "brand new" monitor. I finally did get to speak to a support supervisor and did send me a new monitor. The funny thing is that he did not send me the same model but instead a 21.5" model. Which tells me that there are problems with this model.I am an IT manager so I know that monitors can fail. That is not why I am giving only one star. However, when company is not willing to give the customer reasonable support after a product has failed 30 days from purchase, then I have a problem. From this problem and other support issues with HP, I have decided to change who I purchase my computer equipment from in the future. Now that is not to say that the new manufacture will be any better, but I just can not in good faith continue with a company that does not treat their customers with value.Stay away from the HP 2009m and HP for that matter.

Wow, this monitor is *BRIGHT*! I toned down the brightness and contrast just a bit from the out-of-box settings and used the included software to do a little color correction. After those adjustments I really like it. Even with brightness and contrast toned down a bit it still has very good black levels and overall contrast. Excellent for any sort of surfing or doc/spreadsheet work and very good for gaming. I ran a few hours of Oblivion and Gothic 3 on it last night and noticed very little blurring or ghosting, even when intentionally trying to make it happen (quick turns or glances between sky to water then ground and back). I am currently using the analog cable supplied with the monitor and have no image quality issues. HP include an HDMI cable (I don't have an HDMI card yet) but no DVI cable. Reviews I read on this monitor said it didn't make any difference between analog or DVI and I guess HP had to choose which of the two they wanted to include. DVI cables run about $10 but I'll borrow one from a friend to see if it makes any difference before buying one. If I notice any improvement I will update this review. As mentioned in a previous review a bright room can cause some glare on the screen's shiny coating To keep the glossy screen from putting off too much glare I use a lamp in the room instead of the overhead light. I sometimes did this before purchasing this monitor (when I was using a 20" CRT) but now it's just about required. The combination of very high brightness from the screen itself and lights reflecting off the shiny screen coating was a bit too much and I found my eyes getting tired after a couple of hours. Soft lighting from a lamp off to the side prevents glare and eye strain. What you want to prevent is a bright light somewhere above and behind your head (same with a lot of TVs, except this screen is completely flat so the area in which you need to prevent bright light is pretty small). As far as the speakers go, I hooked them up just to see what they sounded like and was not impressed. The are really weak (2W, I believe the docs say) and any sound they do put our is rendered pretty much useless because they are on the rear of the unit, pointing backwards. Not that I mind that much because it makes for a very clean, uncluttered look from the front... no silly looking speaker enclosures mucking up the admittedly very nice appearance of this monitor. Fortunately I have a surround sound set hooked up to my PC so I never intended to use the integrated speakers in the first place. The one year warranty is disappointing but common for an HP consumer item. I worked around that problem by purchasing the monitor on a credit card that automatically extends the warranty another year. Still, it would be nice for HP to stand behind their products but this monitor has the same coverage as almost everything else they produce. The base/swivel on this unit is great! From the front you can only see the foot and it's appearance is very plain... I fixed that by putting a small picture on it :) However, the range of motion and ease of movement given by the base is awesome! You can move it in every direction but side-to-side.... up, down, forward, backward and tilt. It's very stable when moving it up or down or tilting and feels lighter than it really is when adjusting. I am much taller than my wife yet we sit in the same chair to use the PC... all it takes is one hand to adjust the tilt, about as effortless as adjusting a rear-view mirror in a car. The base is stable so to tilt all you have to do is lightly push or pull on the top part of the case. Raising and lowering are just as simple and also can be done with just one hand. And the ability to tilt the screen 90 degrees while auto-rotating the image to fit, while not a necessity for me, is pretty nifty. It makes reading long docs or looking at tall pictures a snap.Another feature is the integrated USB ports. You get two of them at the cost of using one from your PC. This was a "nice to have" for me as I already have 8 USB ports through various means but I guess it never hurts to have more. After doing my research on monitors and seeing reviews for this one were on par or better than most, what convinced me to buy it was seeing a row of monitors side-by-side in the store. Your eye keeps getting drawn to this monitor (and the 20" and 24" versions) over and over. HP really did their homework as far as design, appearance and overall image impressiveness. I've read some reviews indicating color matching and post-calibration color accuracy is not great for this monitor (like a lot of other TN+film screens) and this could cause problems for folks using it in a professional imaging capacity. Fortunately I'm just using it for normal consumer stuff - gaming, home computing, surfing - and it's great for those! While reading reviews I also discovered this monitor uses 6-bit graphics plus dithering to approximate full 8-bit images (hit u

The hp 2511x comes packaged efficiently but adequately. The setup was intuitive and easy. Then came the reward: the bright and clear LED monitor worked immediately. The energy efficiency is notable and appreciated. This monitor is used as a second unit placed adjacent to an Apple 30 inch Cinema Display both driven by a MacPro. It is used primarily for menus and text with the video and photographic content typically on the 30" Apple display. It is also used for direct HD viewing from a High Definition Camcorder using the HDMI port. It would be nice if the dot spacing were a bit smaller but the practical limitations with today's technology are well understood.Learning the menu icons and buttons took a bit of trial and error along with the CD based instructions. I copied the user manual to an internal hard drive so that it is readily accessible for easy access and display without having to insert the CD.I am pleased and recommend this monitor. It is very versatile and a good value. When you spend so much time looking at a device, you want it to be good, and it is.HP 2511x 25-Inch LED Monitor - Black

The HP4430S laptop series is a great entry level laptop. I was on a small budget for a new laptop and after searching all manufactuers, ebay and other resources for new or used laptop I concluded buying this (brand new) laptop and upgrading the ram ($44 from crucial) would yield the best bang for my buck.I was right. This laptop meets my expectations.Windows 7 starts and resumes very fast. With the upgraded ram to 8G total and 2 cores + 4 threads this thing can certainly multitask. The partially aluminum shell is very nice and strong - the unit is light weight and doesnt get to hot after more then an hour or two of use.Buy this if you like the specs - it is well worth it.

It's as described. however it's not very user friendly when it comes to adjusting the screen. Compared to the LG monitor that I've purchased a month ago, I prefer the LG. Shipment was on point. over all experience was good.

This laptop is a really great computer. It has a magnificently designed metallic finish and just looks exceptionally great. The "chiclet" keyboard is easy to type into. As for the machine itself, the computer is fast and responsive. There's too much trial software though and it certainly makes the computer lag especially when dealing with sound. I've uninstalled the trial software and the computer still lags a bit. Otherwise the computer itself is great for college which is the reason I bought it.

I've had the monitor for a day and it's excellent. It's connected to my aluminum MacBook and after a one-time setup (see below) the picture is sharp and clear and the colors are true to my eyes. It was fun watching a video at [...] with it. I bought it for its size and the 23 inch display is perfect for me. I can fit a couple of windows side by side so it's reduced the need to juggle windows. The picture controls are easily accessible and intuitive to use (unlike my old 19-inch Samsung that the HP is replacing). I'm not using the internal speakers because I have a desktop sound system that takes little space. So far I have nothing negative to say but if something comes up I'll update my review.I considered getting the Apple 24-inch display. But at almost $900 vs. ~$250 for the 23-inch HP there was no contest. I've seen the Apple in the Apple store and it looks great. But so does the HP. I suppose if you put them side by side there could be visible differences. But I'll probably never see them side by side. I am also not a graphics artist who may have more exacting needs and a different opinion. The Apple has some nice features such as USB ports, a cable (more about that later) and a built in video camera which I don't need. Cables and USB ports cost me ~$60 so I'm still way ahead financially. A great value in comparison.I'm a recent PC-to-MAC switcher so there were some things that I had to learn about which I went through with my old monitor. I'll mention them here in case they are useful for a new MacBook switcher like me who is adding their first external monitor.1. Two cable devices are needed. One is Apple's mini display port to DVI adapter. Cost ~$30. Then you need a DVI to HDMI cable to go from the Apple adapter to the HDMI monitor input. Cost ~$10 to $15 on Amazon from any number of vendors.2. The MacBook has to be powered for the external display to work. The MacBook will not feed a signal to the external display when running on battery.3. (There may be a better way to do this than I am aware of.) With the monitor plugged in and on and the MacBook display on, select displays from System Preferences. There should be an Arrangement item near the top of the preference window. If Mirror Displays is checked uncheck it. Follow the instructions on the screen to arrange the two displays so they are side by side. Then click the Display option. At this point there should be two display option preference windows on the screen, one for each display. Fiddle around with them until you have a sense of what's going on. Then set the Resolution for the HP to 1920 x 1080. If you have been panicking up to now because your resolution was terrible, you will be amazed as the resolution snaps in.4. At this point you can close the MacBook and just have the single HP display operating. When I do this the MacBook goes to sleep and the screen goes black. But pressing any key quickly wakes it up.5. Still in Display preferences click the Color option. When I did that the Display Profile for the HP was magically there (HP w2338h). I don't know how it got there because the computer is six months old and I think the monitor is very recent. Maybe it gets it from the monitor or does an automatic download from the Internet. In any event, I didn't question magic. I selected the profile and I was done. The setup is a one time thing. Now every time I reconnect the monitor to the MacBook the video comes up with the settings.
