This laptop has NO lightscribe!! Previous reviewers have already commented but Amazon has NOT changed the description. I have also called to ask them to change the description, but they haven't. This laptop will be going back. I have already purchased the newer version of this laptop for the same price. Other than that the laptop is fine. The 7200 RPM hard drive is nice, but only 320gb? Too small to be truly useful.

I bought this laptop specifically for its "hackintosh" potential, and it hasn't disappointed on any level. As a PC, it's not too bloated with crap, although to be honest it was a bit much for me, and I backed up my activation, loaded a clean install using disc images from Microsoft, and restored the activation. Performance is nice, and for most users 4GB of RAM is enough (FYI it's only on one stick, so upgrades aren't that wasteful and are rather cheap). The hardware is rather nice, especially for the price, and I've never felt like I was using a cheap laptop.As a hackintosh, it's lived up to everything I expected, and installation was easy enough (not without a few hiccups, most of which came from me trying to follow two different guides--just follow one guide!!!). It can dual boot (though not with Boot Camp, as that's for legit Macs), run Parallels, and other than Bluetooth and HDMI audio, everything works beautifully as a Mac (Lion 10.7.2)! Honestly, it's better for me (I prefer the widescreen full keyboard setup of this PC to my GF's MacBook).Highly recommended no matter what your uses may be.

It is a rare thing - glossy screens on a monitor. I don't know why it is, considering almost every laptop has them. In my opinion, images and video displayed on a glossy screen appear more life like, dimensional and vivid. Blacks are darker and colors are more robust. My HP 2511x exemplifies those qualities. I couldn't be happier. And text is very sharp. There are monitors, costing hundreds more that have a truer representation of color accuracy, which may be important for graphic artists and photo and video pros. I intend on doing a lot of home movie and photo editing, and this much less expensive monitor will do the job nicely. I paid $230 through Amazon. You can pay $60 to $70 less for some 23 inch models out there, but you'll be missing the advantages of the glossy screen and size. And by the way, the glare that is inherent with my shiny screen is never obtrusive at all. One final note, this monitor does not have the mounting holes for a wall mount. For me, it sits on my desk, and that's just fine.

I was so excited that I was able to buy a toner cartridge for such a great price. Well I receive it in quick time to find that it was defective. That being said. This happens to one in. A million toner cartridges sold. Too bad it happened to me.This product BTW came in factory packaging and was not refurbished.So take a chance with this seller

We've always felt strongly about getting ink cartridges from the original manufacturer. When we saw a good deal on this cartridge from Amazon, through a trusted seller, figured we'd give it a try. It was a good price, but it seems we got only what we paid for. The ink on this unit is much lighter than we were used to seeing on a "new" cartridge. This was advertised as "new in the box", and it was, but the box appeared to be very old when we received it. Although the box was inside another shipping box, it was scuffed up, torn in a few places... looked like it had been in storage somewhere for a long time. This probably explained the lighter shade of ink. We've used it for a few weeks now, no change. We can get by with it, but we're not happy. Wouldn't purchase from these folks again.

While I fully take the blame for this, I would prefer if Amazon did not mention this monitor is frequently purchased with HDMI cables as this monitor cannot use HDMI cables. Only now do I realize this after I got them. Other than that I am happy with my purchase of this monitor.

I bought this monitor so I could work from home, when needed, and connect my work laptop directly to it. The screen size is perfect if you're the kind of person who keeps a lot of windows open at the same time. The screen resolution is also great, but then again, this isn't being used for gaming--just work, unfortunately :) It comes with a DVI cable and a VGA. For its size, it's incredibly light. All around, I'm pretty impressed. Good purchase!

As others have and will say, this is a great monitor. I bought two of these. One 2010i is cabled using DVI and the other is cabled with both DVI and VGA. Very sharp image with excellent color definition for both types of connection. I use it mainly for business apps, with the occasional bit of PC gaming and it's absolutely superb for everything I need it for.At a price hovering around the $140 mark, this screen represents great value for money too. I replaced an HP 2009m and a ViewSonic VX710. There was nothing wrong with the 2009m (or the ViewSonic for that matter), but I hated the glossy screen finish of the 2009m. If I'd wanted a mirror, I'd have bought a mirror. The 2010i has the matte screen finish which obviously doesn't pick up room light sources and reflections like the 2009m does. Much better!However, there are a few things about the 2010i which bug me and are worth noting.1. The power button is located near the bottom right corner (same as the 2009m). It often needs several presses before it responds to being switched on/off. I have both my 2010i screens mounted using the "Dual LCD Monitor Stand desk clamp" (available via Tyke Supply through Amazon). They look great, but adjusting the tilt means I need to grab the lower bottom edges of the screen which, more often than not, turns the screen off. A bit annoying, but not a deal breaker.2. When I use the Source button to switch from DVI to VGA, a "Monitor Status" box appears telling me it's scanning for input signals. I know that's what it's doing - I don't need to be told and it doesn't have to obliterate half the screen with an obvious and annoying message! Maybe you can turn that off, but I haven't found that option yet.3. Some genius at HP decided it would be a great idea to place a long sticker along the top edge of the plastic screen surround. It's the usual stuff...HP logo, screen resolution stats, connection types, etc. All the things you already know, but OK. No big deal to just peel it off, right? Wrong! The glue HP used is so strong that it's left behind when you peel the sticker off. So far I have tried duct tape, WD-40 and Goo Gone and the glue is still there. The duct tape didn't lift any of the glue off, the WD-40 just spread the glue around and the Goo Gone didn't do anything. I'm absolutely paranoid about getting these chemicals on the LCD screen itself too. Why do we need a sticker and if we have to have one, why use the same glue they use to build roads? And yes, I did peel the sticker very carefully, but it didn't do any good. Totally asinine.So, if you want a great LCD screen for an awesome price and a glue cleanup job that'll sap your will to live, the 2010i is for you.

Buy the laptop 10 months ago and now I get a hard drive failure, I check with HP software and I have to replace my hard drive. Not a year has already broke down and hit and not even have the notebook. I went very wrong this notebook I'm sad about this.

This monitor was purchased for my grandson. The monitor is incredible. The pictures are so clear, the colors so true, it is like looking at the real thing. He set the monitor up in no time. He said it was very simple to set up and the resolution on the 25" screen is awesome especially when playing his XBox games.He recently had a Samsung monitor and he said there was no comparison. I am an HP consumer all the way. I have an HP Desktop, an HP Laptop, two HP printers, two HP monitors, a 20" LED and a 23" LED) and a HP scanner I have had for over 10 years.The price was unbelievable at Amazon for the 25" monitor. Went for the 2311x but it had the matte screen...not for me. My HP w1907 had the glossy screen and had better colour than the 2311x matte, and its an 07. Saw this one and realised the Brightview Technology? was what I had on the 19". I haven't regretted it. The colour and resolution are far better than the matte option. Its a class above. You will get reflections but you can close the blinds. Awesome monitor. Looks stunning in 1080p. I wish HP would clearly state what screen type is on the product inside the box and in the product description. Really how difficult can that be? I went for this one when I had Googled Brightview and saw this was the glossy screen. But even then it remained unclear until I had received the item.

When shopping for a new monitor for my new HP computer I did not care for the 20-inch monitor that was bundled with the computer package (HP 2011x). Best Buy carried the 2011x and the 2311x HP monitors, 20-inches and 23-inches respectively. The 20-inch was kind of small and the 23-inch seemed over-powering in size. These were the only two that Best Buy stocked and I really wanted to keep everything the same brand, my tower, my monitor and printer. I started to look online for other monitors when I discovered that HP made this 21.5-inch monitor (2211x) that was in between the two other sizes. I found the best price on Amazon and ordered it. The monitor is stylish and looks great. The colors are vibrant and reading printed material from the web or Word documents is not a problem. It came with both a standard VGA cable and a DVI cable. Unfortunately, this particular sized monitor and sizes below it, do not come with the HDMI input. You will need to get the 23-inch or above to get the option for an HDMI input. In my case it did not matter because my computer doesn't have an HDMI output anyway, so having the DVI is fine. I liked the fact that both cables are included in the box! Being that the monitor is LED it is very light and easy to move around. I am extremely happy with it so far and was glad to see that HP offered a mid-sized monitor in this series.

Bought this for my mom for Christmas. She was thrilled to be able to skype and use email. That's all the laptop was used for, but within a month, the screen wouldn't come on when the power button was pressed. Now I'm in the middle of contacting HP, trying to figure out how to get her a working laptop or my money back so she can buy herself something better. I've had an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC for 4 years, and have no complaints; that's why I bought this one. I am kicking myself for discounting the FEW negative reviews describing this product as defective. I'll have to update and let you know how HP handled the return/repair or whatever they will do for me, but you might as well save yourself the trouble and buy something better from the get-go.

I couldn't believe the price on this package when I saw them online. If you're not aware of the pricing for this ink from HP manufacturer, let me tell you....this is waaaaay cheaper than any of the other big vendors I have purchased from. The ink is the same quality. So far, I've only used 2 of the 3-pack and have been very happy with the results. Shipping was pretty fast too!I will probably order from this vendor again.

This laptops is awesome.This laptop has the sandy bridge version of the i3 which has really strong integrated graphics card. and very quick processor.I was actually able to get around 35 FPS on Civilization V on low setting which means I could run smoothly at medium settings, which also means that you can play alot of other games like MW2, Fifa, NFS, Portal, Mirror's Edge, Red Alert 3, and games at this intensity on low settings. Fifa will surely run on medium settings.Aside from the specs, The touchpad is a little bit rough at first as if you're touching very fine sandpaper, but after a while of use you get used to it and realize that it actually works better than glossy touchpads on other laptops.Also the USB hubs are a little bit hard to get extensions in them, but for me that's a plus so that the USBs don't fall off easily.The screen is really vibrant, although I haven't tested it in direct sunlight. You will also notice that there is a lot of space beyond the display in the front (a good .5 inch on both sides and like 1.5 inches on the top.)The speakers are actually really loud and crisp clear.There is bluetooth built in. And there is two USB 3.0 hubs.It ways a little bit more than your average 15.6 inch laptop, which I guess is due to the brushed aluminum finish on the back and surrounding the touchpad.Overall this is the best laptop purchase I have ever made.

I read a lot of reviews about this H.P. LED 25 in. ( 2511x ) Monitor, and I just want to say, it was easy to hook up. And is great for watching movies on. It didn't take me long to get used to the big wide screen for emails etc. I also purchased some Bose speakers touse with this Monitor and they both work great.

I couldn't be happier with my purchase. With my HP photo viewer, photographs display (at least vertically) on the entire screen, edge-to-edge, and the resolution is perfect as close as 12" from the screen. Wow!

I would like to know if somebody else got the same problem.Computer was shipped without any system installed and NO any Windows of software Disk(s).Amazon (actually it was Amazon- designated retailer uplifted to Prime rank and backed up by Amazon Prime Program).Amazon apologized and emailed me return label. I shipped it back for free. Got full refund deposidted to my CC almost instantly.Amazon is great in this sense. But I have to call customer service and explain the situationLost a lot of time. This comp was for my son who already started his 3rd semester in college.Will buy the same computer again, but now I am split by 2 facts:1) this computer become slightly more expensive (not very important)2) I am not sure if I order another one I get it with windows3) Toshiba came out with the same chipset and processor July 14, 2011Update 01/26/2012I bought a second one (returned previous -somehow Amazon preferred return to the vendor instead of shipping me a disk). This computer works very well (already for 1/2 year). Performancve and speed is very good. I am upgrading to 5 star as "forgotten system install" does not directly relate to the overall performance.

I love this laptop. Fast, powerful, and hassle free. No problems so far. The bloatware was not as bad as other reviews led me to believe, and having owned Acer and Dell laptops previously, I can't emphasize enough how much nicer and easier to type this laptop's keyboard is. I think my typing speed has doubled on this laptop vs. Acer. I don't use trackpads so can't comment on that. If you are looking for a great all-around business laptop at a reasonable price, this is the one for you!

I originally wanted to get a Mac, but I did not want to spend as much as I would have had to in order to buy one. I feel like this is a nice low-cost alternative. I have been using this laptop for about the past 6 months, and it has held up very well! I feel like the design is very sleek. I also like that the LCD screen as opposed to all of the other laptops on the market that have glossy screens (which are AWFUL with smudges and glare). The MS Office suite and STATA run very well on the laptop, and I never have any problems attending online classes/conference calls through Adobe Pro Connect, Skype and other communication applications. I also ordered this item from Circuit City through Amazon; I chose the normal free shipping option, and my package arrived within only 2-3 days! Overall, I would highly recommend this product!

I was a bit worried about screen reflectivity, and to be honest, it is more reflective than I would have preferred. However, used with a little care as to room lighting and positioning, this should not be a problem. The monitor frame, on the other hand, will continue to show faint reflections in a low-light room - bad choice as far as I'm concerned.However...the color is absolutely fantastic with the DVI-D connection - HDMI could be even better. It was also nice to see the VGA and DVI cables enclosed when the box was opened. Setup was fast and easy, as was positioning to the desired viewing angle. Controls are well designed and adjustments via the menus are pretty straightforward. Just be sure you're in a well-lighted area when you first look for the power button - it blends so well with the black frame it can easily be lost. This is one monitor that doesn't cheat a few fractions of an inch on size - diagonal is exactly 25".As one reviewer mentioned, the "sweet spot" is noticible, but unless you're going to be viewing at weird angles shouldn't be a problem. I could have given 4 stars, but that seemed too picky for a just a few minor issues. My guess is you're going to like this monitor!

Printed somewhat on the light side when new. The package looked like a new 92A Laser Jet printer cartridge and included a UPS shipping label to return the old cartridge. (I am no expert on differentiating between a new and refurbished cartridge.)The new cartridge was installed 3/15/2012 and for two months printed 600 copies. The only complaint, the printing was light. The lightness was consistent but expected more, until recently. For the next 100 copies, the printed page became streaky and lighter in some areas. Finally, blackening appeared on the printed pages, the printing got really light, and I pulled the cartridge.There might be value in paying $35 or $40 with freight for 700 copies, but I expected more and should have known better than to think I had found exceptional value.Returned to H-P Online and paid $83, including tax and 2nd day delivery.Sorry amazon.com.

Have owned this computer for two months. The computer seems to be very well built and everything except the track pad pad works smooth. The track pad has a mind of it's own and can not be adjusted from control panel, wish we could just turn off features but I can't. Also the HP DVD player software lacks compared to our last Dell. Think twice before buying this or any HP laptop. Probable going to sell this on Craigs list.Have found you can turn off touchpad scrolling through control panel mouse settings. Also downloaded a different dvd player that seems to work better. Maybe we will be happier now. Have to admit construction of computer is awesome.

I purchased the reconditioned cartridges. My printer originally didn't like these. It kept saying "Change cartridge." After restarting the printer a few times, and checking the cartridges, I finally got the cartridges to work. I have printed a few things in color and black and white, with minimal issues. However, I did notice a few times that my printer was printing slow. I'm not sure is this was due to the cartridges or the printer itself. After I rebooted the printed again, there were no issues and it printed at its regular speed. It's not bad for the price. If you are on a budget, then this is a great buy! Hopefully I don't have any other issues after writing this review. ;)

This product worked well for two months and then stopped working. When the computer is turned on one can hear it trying to boot up but nothing happens and the screen is blank. All one hears is the sound of the processing system, like a fan.This was purchased as a Christmas gift for my 13 year old daughter. She was at first delighted but is now quite disappointed.

This is my first LED back lite monitor. I've have many LCD monitors and none have been as bright as this guy. The image simply hits you in the face, you'll need to be adjust the brightness down for comfort. No stuck pixels, all cords except HDMI cables is included in the box. No VESA mount but for a screen this thin, you can't expect to have room. The carton is really chintzy, shame on you Amazon for shipping as is and not double boxing. There was a tear in the carton where another container clearly pierced into it. Luckily, the monitor inside was not damage. The bezel is super glossy, be careful of smudges and finger prints. Other than that, this monitor has few flaws to chirp over. Text is not as sharp as I wanted but not bad. I looked at a lot of monitors before deciding on HP. The Dell Ultrasharp series is my first preference but you need to cough up more than double the price of the HP 2511x to get a 24" inch one. This comfortably fits my pocketbook and eyes.

I needed a second display for working with digital photographs. Being able to turn this easily and quickly to a portrait display mode made all the difference for me. This monitor was easy to install and we had it working in about 10 minutes.Great price and super quick delivery made this a great purchasing experience.

Once again, Amazon shipped fast and on time. The box turned up just fine from UPS as well. Assembly was easy peasy. Upon plugging this in, my jaw dropped. I went from a 17" late 2005 lcd to this, and why did I wait so long. Call of Duty and my old Star Wars games came to life. I re-installed Half-Life 2 just to experience on this monitor, and it was a great experience. Text in documents looks great, and Windows 7 looks awesome as well. I did mess with a few of the color settings in setup to my liking, and that helped a bit, but out of the box, most will be happy. This also doesn't have speakers as do most other monitors, so heads up. Get some external Logitech speakers and you will be happy. Now all I need is to upgrade my pc to the latest tech. Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I'd been looking forward to move up from a 22" LCD monitor for a month or so and finally decided on this one. Once I had it set up and sitting on my desk, I became giddy with excitement. It really does look beautiful. Turned on, I was amazed at how bright and clear the Windows 7 login screen looked. I proceeded to calibrate the monitor with a Spyder 3 Express and it made a noticeable difference in the colors. Much better!All I've really gotten around to doing, so far, is playing Dead Space 2. The game looks pretty great. Backlight bleed isn't an issue--which is nice for games that have you running around in the dark! I have to say, though, the little bit of ghosting I'm experiencing is hanging in the back of my mind as I'm playing it. I came from a 2ms monitor and this is probably why. I don't think most people would get hung up on it like I have.Yes, unfortunately, there are more gripes. When using browsers or viewing any white screen, the viewing angle issue -will- become very noticeable, very quickly. I have the screen sitting as far back on my desk as I can get it and it's still an issue. When people say 2-3 inches movement to your left or right makes a difference, they aren't lying. Also, I noticed another review stating that, once set below a certain level of brightness, the screen will start to flicker. It became apparent to me as I started calibration, starting around 75 brightness for me.As much as I wanted to dig this monitor (and I have in some way), it just missed the mark for me. I'm sure plenty of people would be ecstatic about owning this screen. I'm just gonna have to keep looking around. I'm in no hurry!

they have serious video card overheat problem on almost all of there laptop.i read from other sites, this is design problem, it can't be fixed andmore serious problem is: HP never admit this problem. Shame on them.I bought HP pavillion dvx series laptop couple years ago and start from last year, wheneveri bring up window media player, itune... video related software, the screen start to freezeand either crash or just freeze there. i'll have to do a forced start.it seems there is no way you can fix the problem. HP techs, if you know how to fix this problem,please reply.

I was in the market for a new LED monitor and I looked at all or many of them before I made my purchase. I definitely wanted one with a shiny screen, most on the market now have what is called non reflective. They are not nearly as clear to my eyeshight as the HP Monitors. The colors are vivid, as my old CRT screen was getting a little dull when it came to color. I am very happy with my purchase and like dealing through Amazon.

After returning the 27" Viewsonic I also reviewed here, I decided to get this HP 2511X25.This is a very nice monitor. But then again, it simply does not seem to have the color depth and richness that past monitors that I have owned did. I had the same issue with the Viewsonic. I currently also own a Gateway HD 24 inch monitor that I just love...nothing so far beats its' picture quality and color depth quality. I did a new build, so I am using the new HP for my rig and the Gateway for my son's rig.But I will not compare them here, as I think it is unfair to compare a two year old HD monitor that was more expensive than this one.Judging just this monitor I will say that I am impressed with it's ease of set up, overall quality and, it is incredibly light weight. The controls are easy to use and give you a good deal of flexibilty to adjust your picture. So far, I have run the internet, gone through several of Windows 7 downloadable desktop pictures and played Crysis. They all look very good.For the money (less than $300.00), this is an excellent buy and I am sure it will serve me well for a long time. Again, I would prefer a monitor that has better color depth and clarity, but I guess that in this day and age they are probably using cheaper, less quality components than they used to. I am also on a limited budget, so, if I wanted to spend an additional $200.00 to 400 +++ I am sure I could get the color richness I am looking for.Never-the-less, this monitor passes my muster for an inexpensive 25 inch monitor that does the job quite well on most applications.I would recommend this monitor to anyone for general use.

Just to say in addition to other 5-star comments, I am astounded at the clarity this monitor produces. It is truly color-faithful, and the detail it displays is a great help in the computer graphical sculpture program I am trying to master. It's hard to imagine I made progress without this outstanding monitor. Highly recommend.

This is my first LCD monitor, came from a 21" SONY Trinitron. Am very happy with the choice. Picture is great. Turned the very warm out-of-the-box colours down a bit (less warm). No dead pixels, no complaints. Nice contrast as well. Was worried about that in comparison to my old Trinitron. The build quality is fine. Since you never touch your screen anyway, it is more than adequate. Buying in the US and bringing to a 220 Volts environment is no problem, it supports both 110 and 220. Viewing angle is not a limiting factor and the glossy screen is only noticeable from time to time when the picture is truly dark - such as at computer start up.Decided to go with the 25" and not the 27" because I was worried the 27" would be too big. In hindsight I am happy I made that choice. Not because the 27" would have been too big on my desk (amazing how much space you get once you get rid of the old boxy monitors), but because 1920x1080 is just about the lowest resolution for a 25" monitor. Have tried to set my neighbour's 27" inch screen (a mac) to 1920x1080 and it is clearly too low. On the 25" the resolution of the icons in windows is less sharp than on my old trinitron monitor, which had no problem going to 1600x1200 or even beyond. So, if you are picky about resolution, don't go beyond a 25" if max resolution is 1920x1080. I would recommend 2560x1440 if you go for 27".

This 25" HP monitor is really worth the money. Stable with a good picture quality. You really cannot go wrong with the price.

Before I got this one, I had been using an old HP (glossy 19 inch non-LED) for 5 years. I was very satisfied with the old one. Now I got another one from HP. This new one is very thin and light. Thanks to LED backlit, it's very bright and crisp on both VGA and DVI.I had purchased another HP model (very thin, 23inch). It was very beautifully thin and light weight with a stable mount, but the panel was poor (guessing that HP uses different panels for different models from various companies). Finally I returned it and got this one (HP 2511x).I'm very satisfied with this guy as I liked my old one. Personally, I like Dell computers, but I think HP is doing better in monitors.

I just got my new hp pc and new hp LA2205wg monitor.HP removed on the pc box the monitor DVI port and replaced it with a better HP Display port- good.The monitor has the capability of connecting with VGA, DVI, and Display port- good.3 cables provided. VGA, DVI, and USB. Where is the Display Port Cable?- badCable cost ~$25 which more than 25% of the cost of the monitor.- BadThe VGA resolution stinks compared to digital.I can't believe they would include a usb cable which can't be used on this monitor and not include their new display port cable.Bad business practice HP.
