Having never had a flat panel monitor before(besides the screens on our laptops) we are thoroughly enjoying our 23" monitor. Watching movies or playing video games is so much more enjoyable. As others have said the volume of the speakers is not that good, but if you hook up external speakers it's great!

The picture (VGA) on this monitor is very good. But the sound though the built in monitor speakers it terrible. I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN MY MONEY BACK, MY FAULT, BECAUSE I DIDN'T. Do not waste your money.

Excellent monitor. I like the 20 inch size for various things including security camera monitoring and just hooking up the monitor for viewing. I'm no techie. If something works well, I like it. This is a quality monitor.

I bought this to go with my new HP computer and it matches perfectly. The picture is crisp and clear. The sound is decent as long as you don't plan on using this screen for an entertainment center. Sometimes I've noticed that some of the movies that I watch are just a little too quiet and I'll have the screen turned all the way up as well as on the computer. But I love that you don't need speakers that take up extra space to have sound with your computer. so, for me, it equals out.

Purchased this monitor to go with a new computer. I had a decent flat screen monitor, but decided to get a bigger one. This monitor has a very sharp picture and excellent color. The only thing I'd maybe change is the built in speakers are not quite as loud as some may like, but it's something I can live with. A very good monitor for the price!

Montior went blank with "buzz" noise just after 80 days. Other than that, it is very nice color. Called HP customer service, they agreed to send out new replacement without charge.

This monitor is great. Very clear picture and very easy to install. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a 3.5mm jack for headphones, you have to use the on your CPU. Oh and the volume of the speakers on the monitor could be a little higher, other than it's perfect. If you don't use speakers that much then I really recommend this, but if you use a lot of sound with your computer, you might want to go wtb a different monitor.

I bought this monitor for my new mac mini and the colors are brilliant. For any other mac users (specifically noobs), this will work with the supplied cable that apple sends for DVI monitors.I am coming from a PC that was driving two 17" screens and I really appreciated the extra real estate. I'm not a programmer and video/photo editing is only done occasionally (just family stuff), but there is something to be said about the convenience of two screens. I will say that having this one monitor is working for me right now. I like having a browser open next to a word doc or something similar. Multi-tasking is a definite possibility on this size screen. Would I like to have two? At this price point, yes I would, but for right now it is serving my needs well.I didn't realize how washed out my older Dell LCD monitors were until I set this up next to them so I could transfer files over to the Mac. I ordered from amazon (as I order just about everything here) and there were no issues and no dead pixels.The aesthetics fall in line with the Mac set up and it is very similar to an Apple Display-externally speaking. Like I said, I'm not a pro with the visual media, but this thing is really vibrant. The colors are rich and photos/graphics look so much better on this screen.On this model it is also nice having the option of DVI, VGA, or HDMI. If this helps with your decision. If you are looking for a monitor in this size range, just get it.

This monitor was great within the warranty period. It was broken right after a year. Don't buy this if you want to use for a long time.Sony Timer (from wikipedia)The Sony timer is a Japanese urban legend. The legend suggests that the Sony Corporation installs a device in its electronics products which causes them to fail soon after their warranty expires, an (illegal) form of planned obsolescence.

Product delivered on time. The "combo pack" were actually two separate boxes. Boxes were slightly dented, which I'll attribute to delivery. Items work well and as expected.Use this product and retailer again? I don't see why I wouldn't.

PROS - nice colors, 1080 resolution, HDMI and VGA inputs.CONS - after about 80 days a blue vertical line appeared about 2/3 of the way from the left hand side of the screen. This line won't go away, even if i reset the monitor, and appears on both my PC's; via HDMI connected to the quad core and the VGA connected to the dual core. both are using different video cards (ati on the quad, nvidia on the dual). Come on guys the NEC this replaced lasted 12 years..Very disappointed considering the cost is well above other companies models!

I have heard some problems with using after market printer cartridges so I have always gone with brand name. This HP cartridge has done its job well and at a great price. Shipping was very quick and transaction was smooth.

I picked this up from Woot a few months ago and brought it up to my workplace. I have been using it since then and absolutely love it. While I'm sure there are bigger and better monitors out there, this is a great product! I would definitely buy another one if I ever needed it.

Got a new OEM HP 92A cartridge (HP 1100 laser printer) at shipped price lower than available at the local (Lower Bucks County, PA area) office supply stores. Cartridge seems to work OK based on using for ca. a week. Have had problems in the past with refurbished cartridges, and recently with what appeared to be new OEM cartridge from an eBay vendor that worked for the test print page only,then proceeded to print out with extra black lines on all subsequent pages. J&R has been in business for many years in New York City, I've been aware of them even though I left NYC a long time ago and never purchased anything from them until this cartridge.

when i finished add it to my cart, it doesnot show the shipping information on the left side, which always has the option for super free save shipping, i thought this was also free shipping as a default same as others. so i place order, finally it showed that i have already paid $47 for shipping, it is ridicules, ha. why it does not remind me of the shipping information, instead it make a $47 shipping as default, right now i have paid $60 to ship it back. hopefully i can get the refund immediately asap. next time more attention should be taken on all the procedures.

I have owned this monitor for several months and just loveusing it. Compared with others I looked at this one seemsto have rich and natural-looking colors. All the screenreal estate is a treat, and I have found it plenty brightenough for my location that usually does not have muchglare.The built-in speakers are mediocre, but convenient.Controls are useful and not hard to use. The screentilts but does not raise or lower.Plugging in a Macbook Pro one time I did find that the1920x1080 resolution did not work on that laptop as expected,but used only part of the screen. I have not investigatethe issue. On my PC-based Linux laptop running Ubuntu 9.04and then 9.10 the picture is perfect at full resolution.The picture is the main attraction in a monitor, and thisis my favorite of all monitors I have ever used.

Original ink lasts a lot longer than the cheaper "remanufactured" ink cartridges do, plus the new cartridge heads are better for my printer. Shipping was fast. The price was the best I could find, but I still think it's expensive.

What a great value this combo pack is!! Local ink cartridge refill business uses cheap ink and it showed when we printed anything with their ink cartridges. Printing came out a gray color instead of black. I looked on Amazon and found this combo pack for $40.00!! WOOOHOOO!! Local refill business was $50 for both cartridges. With HP cartridges the blacks were black and colors were brilliant as you would expect from HP ink cartridges. SUPER FAST delivery and a SUPER price amke a for a deal that you can't beat!!I'LL BE BACK! :)

I bought the first one and it was DOA -- didn't even power up so it was return immediately. The exchange worked wonderfully for exactly 10 days when it developed a very pretty rainbow band on the screen 2/3rd in from the left side -- i.e. the led screen was separating, which is a manufacturing problem, and not a store or delivery issue. So I returned that one as well. I did do some due diligence as to whether I should get another or whether this was a more systemic problem -- from the HP archives I saw lots more of people who were complaining of the same problem -- which shows up a lot more on the 23 inch monitor. So with that information in hand, I did not buy another HP and at this point I would not again. They have some severe manufacturing problems, which I managed to get straight up twice -- why this weblog does not show it utterly amazes me.

Monitor was delivered fast and in excellent condition. The monitor fits perfect in my computer desk. I needed a monitor which had zero height over the base to fit on the shelf on my desk. The colors look great and the resolution is awesome. It had no dead pixels. It's a perfect mix of resolution and size.

This display is easy to read, and easy to set up for VGA. I'm giving it four stars because the menu selections require some thought. Hitting the menu button gives you choices but you need to press other buttons to move the cursor up and down. I didn't have time to read the manual (on the CD furnished) and it was late at night. But I did get it set up fast. Nice product, and good price.

You will not be disappointed with this monitor. I don't have an HDTV I can't afford to buy one right now with no job. So I saved up for three months until I finally had the money to buy this item.What I will say this monitor is simply stunning! I have my PS3 and my HD-DVD Player hooked up to it. I replaced a very old Dell CRT Monitor. I still use my old computer tower via VGA it still looks great. The true power is when you use an HDMI cable. Very simple buy a three dollar HDMI cable and you are good to go.Movies never looked better especially in HD even my burned DVD-R looks good on this monitor upscaled. All I do is for instance burn a movie from an HD source and play it on the monitor through my PS3 upscaled and it looks great.I highly recommend this monitor to anyone who can't afford an HDTV at the moment. 1080p looks amazing at this size and the volume is loud as well. Some people say the volume is low I blasted it quite a few times and it was quite loud to me.I highly recommend it no problems whatsoever. Buy it you won't be disappointed.

Printer cartridges are a little pricey, but I consider the HP 92/93 combo a necessity. Amazon prices are always the best and so is their service, but since I have a well - known big electronics store down the street, I will probably be splitting my business - they are nice people, too!

My brother searched for an inexpensive flat monitor for me, to replace the huge one I had on my desk at home. This monitor took up less space on my desk. But the best of all is that the screen is impeccable! It's as if you could touch the visuals on the screen. I love it. It's just so sleek! The price was excellent. I did purchase an HP computer. The hook up was just fine.

I thought that I would save a little money and contribute to saving the Earth by buying refurbished cartridges. However in the end I wasted both time and money. I used the cartridges in my printer one time and after that I could not get any more use out of them. I didn't even go through the trouble of returning them. I wound up just buying cartridges new at the local Target.

I bought 5 for the office and they work well. I would not recommend for home or gaming purposes as the speakers are not the best. Screen resolution and overall design and stability is satisfactory. As an everyday workhorse it's a great value, but for those looking for more performance from a monitor with speakers I would spend a few more dollars and upgrade to something more.

I shopped the B&Ms quite a bit before making this purchase. I wanted a monitor to use with my laptop, which only has a 13 inch screen. This HP monitor has great looks, and the image is clear and bright. There are not a lot of bells and whistles, but at the <150 price-point the bells and whistles are not important.Comes with DVI and VGA connections and cables.Note, however, that the resolution is 1600 x 900. If you want to use this as a full-HD monitor, you need to get something a bit larger. Was not an issue for me.

My old 19" crt monitor developed a problem with the high voltage for the CRT. I did some research, having being a big fan of HP products, especially their printers and scanner. I found this HP 2009M at Walmart within the price range I was willing to pay. Took it home, installed it without loading any installation software. This is a great monitor for the price and a nice feature is the built in speakers. This monitor sells at various locations with price differences. You won't be disappointed with HP products.

Purchased this to change my macbook into a desktop. The monitor out of the box works great. Easy set up, bright color and bright display.One advice though, use a DVI connection. I first used the VGA connection and the text seems blurry and fuzzy. But once i connect it with a DVI connection, the text became so much better. So if you are experiencing blurriness with this monitor, be sure to switch the DVI.

I have the Samsung 20" monitor on my other computer. The HP is SLIGHTLY LESS THAN 10" high and 17.5 long. Yes, the diagonal is @20" but so what...! If I had known this prior to ordering it, I wouldn't have touched it with a 10' pole. It sat in its box for a month before I was moved into my new house and was ready for it. You get what you pay for and I'd rather have a larger monitor. I suspect I'll grow tired of this quickly... and donate it. I loathe the distortion.My best advice to you is to go look at it before you buy it. If you can't afford better, get this one.

Though it's delivery was really quick (thanks to the seller for that), I am still sufferring from headache because I am still not able to install it's driver.I bought it for my old desktop Dell OptiPlex GX400 with Windows XP.The worst thing is, without its driver, the desktop screen look stretched.so, definitely wouldn't recommend not because of the seller but because of the product itself.help me, if anyone can.. plz.... be grateful. (i didn't get any help going through HP website).

I purchased the 2009M 20 inch HD LCD Monitor about a month ago...I am extremely pleased with it. It was very easy to hook up and the color and clarity are awesome. I would definitley recommend this monitor to any one looking to replace theirs. I had a Gateway Monitor that came with my Gateway PC...however in 3.5 years the monitor quit working...it came on and off..and became very frustrating...So nice to have a brand new one again. HP 2009M 20-inch HD LCD Monitor is all that the company says it is... easy to set up... tilt adjustment has many levels... nice size... bright & clear viewing... easy to read... many settings can be adjusted for everyones eyes. My only drawback is the on/off button w/a very bright blue light... distracting at first.

We chose this monitor because we didn't want to spend alot of $ and after hooking it up (we just had to plug it in) have found that it's a good bargain. Images aren't as sharp as they would be on a more expensive monitor but at this price (approx $100) we didn't expect them to be. We're very happy with this monitor.
