I've read some reviews from some buyers that said they wouldn't upgrade from a QC15. I'd have to agree for the most part. Honestly for me, I wouldn't have purchased and kept the QC15, because they weren't good enough audio quality and did take up a lot of space. The QC25 to me are a very good and needed upgrade from the QC15.
I have to say I am very impressed with the QC25. Not only were they still fantastic for noise canceling (the best I've had from Sennheiser, Shure and Audio Technica), but they were nearly on-par with some of the nicer sets of Sennheiser, Shure and Audio Technica I've had in the past. Most Bose products I've had in the past are purely for the Bose name, but it appears that the Bose engineers really listened to customers, and got their act together for the QC25. I don't think they're as good as a set of audiophile cans, but these are probably the best you can get for traveling. They fold up super compact, have great battery life (I like the AAA battery option since rechargeable have to be recharged if they die, whereas with a AAA, you can just put one in - great for traveling a lot and forgetting to charge your headphones :(), and audio quality is fantastic. Base is defined, but not blasting your brains out, treble is very clear, and precise, as well as mids are very smooth. I'm thoroughly impressed with these, and won't be looking for another set of travel cans. Honestly, these are good - good enough for me to not need a set of cans for the office and for travel. They block all background noise around me, and have fantastic sound.
Get a set - you won't be disappointed.

Pros-
Some of the most outstanding sound quality I've ever heard form headphones. They have a great balance of sound, and the bass isn't overdone like some other headphones in this price range.
Build quality is outstanding, and they feel good to wear. I haven't had the chance to travel with them, but if my travel experiences change my impression of these, I'll update this review.
The case is one of the best ones I've ever had the privilege to use. It's got space for an extra AAA battery, and fits the headphones snugly, so there's absolutely no concern of breakage.
Sound Isolation on this model is fantastic. When I first but them on and had them on my ears, I tried just turning on the sound isolation without having any device plugged in, and the experience was fantastic
Cons-
Battery is required for reliable usage and sound isolation. The feature can be turned off with a switch on the headphones, but it doesn't sound great. Case has space for an extra, which is nice for extended travel.
For the price, I really wish these were Bluetooth compatible.

After sampling the qc15s at an airport shop, I was impressed, but held off buying them because the qc15s need a battery to function. The new qc25, however, only need the battery for active noise cancelling and a little extra amplification - but if you run out of juice you can still listen to music using them as regular passive headphones.
They are very, very comfortable, and don't give you hot ears after a few hours use. For large headphones, they fold fairly small, and the case means that they pack easily.
Used without any input, they muffle and background noise - continuous droning type noises are almost completely eliminated, but you do still hear some things. There is a little hiss when used like this, but it's not enough to bother me, and it's inaudible when music is playing.
With music playing, you simply get lost in it - the outside world just seems to disappear! I'm no audiophile, but to me they have a really well balanced sound - enough bass without being overpowering, beautifully clear vocals, and sharp treble. The sound quality is reduced a fair bit without the battery, but they're still good enough if you get stuck.
I'm sure I could have got better sounding headphones for this kind of money, but I doubt I could have got better performing noise cancellation. Overall, these are amazing for what I want to use them for.
Why not 5 stars? A couple of minor niggles.
- the inline remote is Apple standard, so doesn't work on my android devices. Play/pause/answer works on the centre button, but vol up/down don't... A shame Bose don't offer a choice of cable (yet!)
- with the cable attached, it has to bend quite sharply in the case, so I'm disconnecting it each time - over time, this may loosen the connection
- there isn't really anywhere to store the cable, it just kinda lies in and around the headphones in the case. Slightly annoying, and possibly will rub on the headphones and scratch when travelling
Despite those niggles, I'm more than pleased with these - they still give me a great big grin everything I use them. If you want the best audio experience in a quiet environment, then you can probably do better. Add some background noise into the mix and these are simply superb. Best purchase I made in a long time.

Instructions are easy to follow- Six steps and pictures from inserting the battery to storing the headphones. In the case is one battery included which is inserted in the top of the right headphone- Diagram inside on which way the battery goes and the piece that opens the battery compartment is easily opened with pressing and pushing up on the plastic piece. I opened and closed the piece many times- No problems and wasn't flimsy like I thought it might be..
Comes with a extra 3.5 mm dual output jack for commonly used in airplanes with some airlines as well as the normal audio cable with connections for calls and audio adjustments for Apple products. This is stored nicely in the case with a extra slot for a back-up battery to be kept. They are very comfortable. Comfortable soft fabric foam on my ears and on top of my head..Adjusts for bigger, or longer heads. Inside the headphones are the Left and Right Indicators for use.
I first listened to my music without the power, and without a battery inserted. The sound quality was still great and the headphones did cut out much of the background noise. Inserting a battery and just turning the power on the head phones, the background noise was significantly decreased to eliminating workplace chatter. Definitely a acoustic difference with this test. I do have to turn the volume down with the power is on, as it boosts the bass level for my music and movie watching experience which is nice compared to my other headphones and volume levels I am used too .
I have used with my iPad, iPod and my Samsung Galaxy S5- The call quality and voice quality is great with these headphones on while making a call on my Galaxy, although I don't prefer to talk on the phone with full cover headphones on- Too much stereo for my conversations. If you touch the headphones while listening to audio you will get some feedback, but that has been normal in my experience. Moving around my home there is no feedback, only when touching the headphones.
This is only my second pair of Bose Headphones. Although I am not a expert in anyway with headphones or electronics these are so much of a upgrade compared to my SoundTrue Headphones. Movies are incredible now and I can't wait to fly with these headphones. I can now watch my iPad in a busy filled work lounge or living room and not hear anything else around me. Its quite incredible. My personal electronic experience has now been boosted to a level I didn't think I would experience. The sound quality is magnificent.
As always I will update any changes and significant changes if they arise

I don't have to blast my music and damage my hearing to hear the music that's drowned out from the noise of traffic like I did before. I just put these headphones on and I'm immersed in my own little world of music as I walk to work. Death Metal and all the other sub genres od Metal sound great on these headphones, as does Classical, Jazz and Scottish music (I listen to a little bit of everything). All of the sounds of traffic seem so far away and I can actually hear my music without having to turn up the volume so loud. They're also great for using at home if you're listening to music at work during lunch and you dont want to disturb others.
The Bose QC-25's may be expensive but they're worth the money, in my opinion. If your going to spend that kind of money on headphones, always go with Bose.

I would recommend these to anyone who is looking for a high end set of headphones. I previously had Bose in ear earphones and absolutely loved them. These however are even more superior.
The fact that they cover your ears completely is brilliant. I've owned other noise cancelling headphones which were brilliant (AKG headphones) but they didn't completely cover my ear. Again, they are more superior to the AKG's in the fact that they cover the ear. As for the sound, it's not that far off. Don't get me wrong, the sound is brilliant and I think the bass is awesome. I suggest, if using your iPhone, getting an app called Tuneshell as you can really tweak all your sound setting and get them exactly how you like them. Sound is different for everyone so you're always going to get different reviews. I personally think it's down to the user, some like them, some don't........I love them.
Overall I think these are great. The build quality is good even though it's plastic. They won't break easy, check out the YouTube reviews where reviewers bend them. The sound quality is great, if you're using an iPhone, get the Tuneshell app and tweak the sound to your liking. They fit comfy, covering your ears completely. The one thing I don't like is that my ears sometime feel like they've popped or that I have air pressure in my ears. I'm guessing it's simply because the cups cause a bit of a vacuum.
Also, they come with a little case. This a great little case and the headphones fit in perfectly. There's even space for a spare battery! Great product but very expensive. I would recommend waiting for the price to come down as it's constantly fluctuating!
Recommended!

The TRUTH - it's more like a step sideways for those upgrading from QC15s. Here's why:
1. Ear cups are a bit stiffer - not as soft as the previous version. Maybe for durability, but don't claim they are more comfortable. They are a little LESS comfortable than the QC15's. The look is nicer though and less corporate looking. But that's not worth the price difference - this is for sound, not style.
2. Noise reduction is good - always good, but hardly different from the old ones. And worse, now people can hear my music from the outside. I liked how silent my old ones were. Now these are very obvious when I am listening to loud music. So much for being stealth with my sounds.
3. Sound level tops out - WTF? These do NOT get loud. I've maxed out the volume on many different sources - there must be some volume cap, which sucks. Sometimes it's nice to kick it up to serious levels when you are in the mood. And dammit, you can't do that with these. Weak.
4. Sound quality - people used to complain the Bose sound was 'flat'. I never agreed. They sounded great to me. Now these claim to be SO much better with sound. Um, please. Not really - they are essentially the same thing, no matter how many marketing terms they print, they only have a bit more depth and separation, but its extremely subtle. I went back and forth between old and new with the same song and, eh, who the hell hears the difference? No one really. They are blowing smoke if they say they are.
Overall, while I like these headphones - don't be fooled. Don't get too excited. You can get the older QC15s and be just as happy.

I am autistic, labelled Aspergers. As such I get overloaded with sound in meetings, seminars concerts etc. Ive tried ear plugs of every kind and sound protection headphones of all grades. I found industrial headphones made me look rather silly with the inevitable questions.
I'm in my fifties but soon noticed all kinds of headphones strapped on peoples heads of all ages that looked "cool" or at least acceptable.
When I wear these the only comments are questions as to whether they are blue tooth because there aren't wires attached for music.
I can hold a normal conversation with the sound cancelling on without raising my voice in busy places and meetings. For the first time in years I can shop in supermarkets and department stores and go to the theatre or cinema without leaving after twenty minutes. I know this isn't a normal review and I've gone for Bose based on other reviews but they are a life changer for me. If you have or know any autistic people mention this to them, I found out by chance. As for the music, I haven't tried that yet but id imagine with the background rubbish removed they would be exceptional!

The only plus for QC25 is that is lighter and the noise cancelling is slightly better than in the parrots.
I had to return the QC25 immediately.

Specific areas where the new model is worse than the older one:
- headband padding is velour on the 25 vs leather on the 15
- headband padding is quite hard and uncomfortable on the 25s. The 15 headband padding is very soft and never gets uncomfortable, even after 12 hours straight wearing
- all components are cheaper plastic on the 25. the 15s have better quality plastic and metal where it matters (e.g. in the headband extension)
- sound quality on the 25 is really poor with noise cancelling turned on
- connector is cheap on the 25
- cable is cheap with a cheap plastic feel on the 25

With a daily train commute and regular long-haul flying, I have been trying to find a decent pair of noise cancelling headphones for over a year now, and have gone through so many it's untrue. At first I was a bit skeptical about these, having tried my fathers QC15's and not liking the presseurised feeling I got in my ears, so I tried out the QC20i's - the first pair were, I think, duff and had to be returned. While I liked the second pair, I still couldn't get a comfortable fit with the buds and so found the noise cancelling a disappointment. And the position of the battery was just daft.
Then Bose announced the QC25's and I popped in to a Bose store to try them out. From the first listen they seemed ideal - the outside world, including a child throwing a hissy fit in the store, was gone. There was just me and the music. I was sold on them there and then, and ordered from Amazon as soon as I got home.
Here we are a couple of weeks later and I'm even happier with them. The big problem I've always had with over ears is that I wear glasses and find that in order to get a decent seal over your ears, most are tensed to the point where they push my glasses into the side of my head, which quickly becomes very uncomfortable (Beats Executive, I'm looking at you especially here). I do not have this problem with the QC25's - the top of the pad rests against the arms of my glasses and then molds around them. It's exactly what I'd looked for and have no problems wearing them for long periods now.
Sound quality is excellent, and has certainly improved as they have broken in. Going back to an in-ear pair sounds rather brash now. Battery life has also been excellent - these get a lot of use from me, and I'd say I got a touch over 40 hours before I had to change the battery - I like that the carry case has a dedicated cut out for a spare.
I haven't had any issues with the cable as per one of the previous reviews, mine fits into the headphones very snuggly and stays there. I do agree that the other end looks a bit flimsy, which is a little disappointing on something that costs so much, but at least the cable is replaceable. I was also surprised that the play/stop/skip button worked on my android phone - just a shame volume doesn't, but then it is only advertised to support Apple.
Overall, while these are expensive, they are exactly what I have been looking for and, as such, I consider it money well spent

I tried the QC25 after having had a great experience with my QC15 for many years, and returned them after five days. Not only were they less comfortable, they committed the unforgivable sin of leaking my music all over the place. People in the next room could hear them at max volume, and even at 50% volume, they were clearly audible only a few feet away. This wasn't tolerable, so I immediately returned them, and switched back to my good old 15s, but decided to order a new pair of ear cushions for them, since the original cushions had started falling apart. I got the new cushions and what did I find but the exact same pads from the QC25 with the exact same problem with noise leakage. What a coincidence. Maybe its the smaller, less padded, less comfortable, more irritating cushions that Bose has suddenly become so fond of, but whatever the cause, I can't live with headphones that broadcast my music to the entire dormitory, for I am not a radio station.

One surprising thing for me is that they don't eliminate speaking voices. In fact, on a plane (even a prop plane!) where the ambient noise is quite loud, once you eliminate the noise, you can hear conversations quite clearly that are not understandable without the noise reduction.
In a house with normal household sounds, putting these on is like a little vacation. You don't have to listen to music or even have the cord attached to enjoy the quiet these provide.
The only con I've noticed is that sometimes when I first turn them on, they add some pressure to my ears. Not horribly uncomfortable, but just slightly so. Also, it's good to avoid having wind hit these in any way, as it causes some strange distortion.
Wrapping up: I love these! They are expensive, but worth every penny.

I found the headphones extremely comfortable and I had no problem wearing them for up th eight hours continiously. I have used them in various outdoor conditions and found the noise cancelling function works perfectly; even eliminating noise generated by strong winds.
On the headphone cable you will find the remote controls for use when receiving calls on your iphone and for remotely controlling the music function. My one criticism was the way these buttons worked when changing tracks/ fast forwarding etc. Press the middle button once to pause and then again to resume. No problem. The other functions require to press the same button multiple times. If you loose count or do not press rapidly enough you inevitably select the wrong function. I gave up in the end and just operated the ipod locally. volume control used the standard two buttons which were no problem. I daresay you could master these buttons (similar to double clicking a computer mouse) but I found it a bit of a faff, especially if you have sausage fingers!
The audio reproduction was excellent. I am not an expert when it comes to acoustics but I enjoyed whatever music or podcasts I played and the benefit of the noise cancelling was you didn't need to crank up the volume to hear it and thus suffered no distortion or damaged hearing.
The headphones come in a stylish carry case. The headphones fold up neatly inside along with a spare battery holder and the airplane two pin adaptor jack. Externally there is a handy elasticated pocket which I found ideal to store my ipod. The AAA battery is quoted as lasting up to 35 hours when using the noise cancelling function. You can use the headphones without if you want as they do not require power to operate. I used the function almost every day for two weeks and the battery was still good at the end.
In conclusion, a first class product that is expensive but worth the money if noise cancelling is a priority

Honestly, I do not notice a quality difference between these and the older pair- but I'm also not an audio professional. We are merely frequent travelers who prefer to watch movies, listen to music, podcasts, etc without the sometimes loud engine sounds or crying babies.
While the case for this set is sleeker (rectangular), I do prefer the older case (round). My husband struggles a bit with remember the correct way to fold his headphones to store properly. It's only a minor issue and just something we have not gotten used to yet.
I highly recommend these headphones for any travelers or those often in noisy areas in which they wish to ignore the chaos around and instead stay focused on your choice media.

I found the QC25s an improvement over all the other Bose I've used. First, the noise-cancellation is just great. The real reason to get these headphones is the cancellation. The previous Bose I've had were fine, but these are far, far better. I noticed no hiss, no distortion, no real change in frequency of the source sound. I was really impressed, even when comparing it to older Bose headphones. And, crucially, they still sound great with noise-canceling off.
The headphones were very comfortable as well. They were good for wearing for at least a couple hours, unlike the QC15s, which I found to be irritating after an hour or so. They were maybe a little less comfortable than the AE2i, but that's a pretty high bar.
The sound was great, but like all Bose, the bass was boosted significantly. Most people like this. I prefer something a little flatter, but I can't fault the Bose sound, either. The bass boost was particularly useful for spoken content, which was clear even in noisy conditions.
The headphones come with a nice case, into which they fold up very nicely. The cable is detachable, which I think makes them last much longer. They also come with an airplane adapter, which I suppose is a nice touch. There are two version of these headphones, one for iOS and one for Samsung/Android devices. The Android version controls do NOT work with iPhone.

The fit is really comfortable and well padded, goes over the entire ear and the headband will not snag hair. (only once on the ear-cuff hinge)
Wound up returning to the manufacturer after 2 months. Exchange was painless, the Bose call-in line was fast and did not waste any of my time. Exchange process took less than a week to have a new headset in my hands, no charge for anything except shipping the old one back.
The Amazon warranty....Frustrated, Miserable and a Waste of over an Hour, I was trying to buy coverage for the headset I was about to receive from Bose- highly disappointed.
