A great leap from the QC15
No need to turn on noise cancellation or lose battery power to listen to anything and the quality is great and it folds in a neat way.
The four starts is because of the high price which I think they could much reduce else i would give it 5

I had slowly upgraded my noise reduction headphones over the years going from $ 39. on an unknown brand to a $79. Phillips item.
Well, I finally decided to treat myself to what I had wanted all along but I had been very hesitant to spend the money on.
Listen, if there is any way that you can swing it - don't hesitate.
These headphones are really quite magnificent. I really enjoy my music; from Pharell Williams to Count Bassie, Vivaldi, Chopin, Daft Punk or Edvard Grieg. It is so much more restful to have these headphones for the flights that I take.
Mind you, they are fantastic anywhere that you wish to listen to music or without listening to music at all
They are very comfortable and the more compact packaging is a worthy improvement.

Awesome product. I got these for several airplanes trips and they have worked beautifully to eliminate the airplane noise when traveling. I allows for a restful trip for people with sensitive hearing. Thanks to Bose for making a another great product.

Right side speaker stopped working after only 3 months. Had to get a return authorization, pay shipping and ship broken headphones to the Bose factory. Just found out that the Bose Exchange Factory is out of stock for the QC25.

By far these are the best noise canceling headphones I've ever used. I fly once or twice a month and this device keeps me sane. It completely blocks the loud throbbing hum on flights. Not terribly comfortable to sleep in, but then again neither is an airline seat.

The noise cancellation takes you to a completely different world. I don't know how I used to sleep on long duration flights before these headphones. While it obviously doesn't remove 100% of outside noise (a good thing if someone is trying to get your attention), there is such an amazing difference when you take off the headphones. I can get a good rest even when there are crying babies around.
Probably not the best studio headphones, which aren't the point of these, but seriously consider buying if you want noise cancellation

They were awesome, when they worked, but within only a week or two of use, the sound cancelling part of the headphones stopped working. I returned them and am awaiting my replacements so we will see how these new ones work. Hopefully just a glitch in just those ones. Otherwise, I love them.

Excellent for noise reduction. It's not overly heavy like some other headphones I've had in the past and fits comfortably. I just wished they weren't so expensive...but it's worth it.

Bose QuietComfort 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones.
I have always wanted Bose headphones--I love their products and have used them for years. I am not a fan of clunky headphones, but these feel comforting and cozy on my head and the sound is incredible. I feel like I am wherever the music is.

The noise cancelling is amazing. I find that these headphones allow you to be in your own world with the music that you are listening to. Most of the back ground noise is removed. The sound quality as you would expect with Bose is superb! As I type this review I am listening to Cold Play an album that I have listen to many times before but these headphones are bringing more out of the music.

Bought these for sound reduction while flying. Completely eliminates background noise caused by the airplane, while allowing conversations and entertainment to be heard clearly. Highly recommend them for any flier, but especially frequent ones.

Design flaw, the left headphone didn't work properly. I received a new pair, and within a day, the same speaker went out again. There is a major problem with the connection with the cord.

These headphones are exactly what I was looking for. They are the kind of EXCELLENT quality that I expected from Bose. The headphones are very comfortable to wear, even when I am listening to music in bed. The acoustic noise cancelling works as expected.

After having these for 7 months I was extremely impressed with sound quality and noise cancelling. Then on my way to Puerto Rico the right ear cup stopped working. Knowing I had a 1 year warranty I called and the service was amazing. All I had to do was pay $9 for the shipping fee and bam I recived a brand new pair, unopened. Now I have two cases and 2 cords haha. Anyway, the company was also nice enough to make my new pair start with a 2 year warente. Just. Amazed.

These headphones are everything I expected from Bose for noise canceling and sound quality. In general, they're fantastic headphones. The compact case is a wonderful way to keep your headphones safe when traveling. There is, however, one major flaw. The headphones do not come with an android compatible in line cable . Instead, the included cable controls only work with Apple products. Apparently, Bose did not get the memo that Apple now owns Beats . Maybe now they will open up their platform to the vast majority of phone users who have Android phones, not Apples. It seems incomprehensible that you spend $299 and a pair of headphones and the cable comes with proprietary controls. If they fix this, I'd give then give them five stars.

Keep in mind that they come with a cable that is not a generic volume mixing cable but Ipad/iphone etc control remote. This is important that you have the chance when connecting this cable to your pc the sound sounds really awful unless you press (and keep pressing) the middle button (Might be solvable with software but haven't found how yet). If you connect to an ipad/iphone etc the sound will be as expected of good quality. This is really bad as I expect most of the people will not realise this and just think the bose headphones just produce very poor sound. I'm writting bose about this as obviously it should come with a cable that works with every equipment not just one that is tailored for mac products. For sound cancellation I find them better than all my other bose (and other sound cancellation) products. I'm a hyperaccusis with Tinnitus. My relationship with sound is out of this plane anal. Just so you know. :)

I always snickered at "those" people who bought crazy expensive headphones. I do a lot of flying and how I've lived with out these is beyond me. First flight with the noise canceling feature and I was hooked! Won't regret these if you fly a lot.

I ordered these hoping the QC-25's were an improvement over the QC-15's I currently own. Don't get me wrong, I really like my QC-15's, I was hoping a 6 year refresh of this model would bring improvements. Overall, this was not the case. The non-battery sound quality is lack luster and the sound quality when running with Noise Cancelling on doesn't have the clarity of the QC 15's. Noise cancelling on the QC-25's are a bit better but not by much. These headphones, like most products these days, are targeted toward Apple products and smartphones, Bose did away with the extra non-phone cable that was included in their QC-15 Special edition earlier this year. Though it works fine with a standard MP3 player, the cord is shorter than previous versions and you are stuck with an inline Volume/Mic controller. And as per usual the controller has more functions with Apple products than Android. The QC-15's are the best Headphones I have ever owned. I have not found anything that comes close. I might by another pair of QC-15's before they go out of stock. Let's hope that Bose refines the QC-25's performance and features. They definitely didn't do their best on this release.

These are everything you expect from Bose headphones. The noise cancellation works great with aircraft noise, but not so well with urban traffic noise. I wish they'd improve noise cancellation for more than just aircraft noise. Being in a noisy city, one sometimes wants to block out all noise and just sit in silence. Bose hasn't mastered that yet.

Amazing headphones. I use them on all of my flights, sometimes for as much as 13-14 hours when traveling internationally. The sounds quality is great and the noise cancelling the best I have owned. Battery life is expected to be 25 hours per the manual but I'm at nearly 50 hours so far.

Just recently took these on a 9 hour flight to Italy. The noise cancelation is amazing. With any type of audio playing the plane became immediately silent even with a crying baby a few rows from me. Also the comfortability is another plus. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the base at loud volumes real tends to be washed out and lacking. Also I would really like to see a wireless version or even a version with a rechargeable battery for this price. I decided to take them back and get the beats studio wireless which were on sale for the same price and come with rechargeable battery and bluetooth. Also the base on those and music seem to sound better. The noise canceling is by far the best on the Bose tho so if thats what your truly only after these are the headphones to get.

Wasn't sure I wanted to spend $300 for a pair of headphones, but having used them on a 13 hour flight recently, it was money well spent. It was heaps better than the noise cancelling headphones that the airline provided. When activated, the noise cancelling virtually eliminated the sound of the engines. Very comfortable around the head and sound quality was clear, and with full dynamic range. It fits very well in the compact case which has a slot for an extra AAA sized battery. I figured I'd try it on this long flight; I plan on keeping them.

Did about a month of research before I decided to get these. Previously owned Audio Technica ATH-ANC23 QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling In-Ear Headphones which were wonderful but not suitable for long flights. Sound quality on the Bose QC25 is pretty good but i won't say amazing. Saw a few people talk about a 'burn in' period. So will update after.
The Noise Cancelling feature is far superior to anything that i've owned or tested. It won't block out a screaming baby but it will silence the engine noise from a large airplane. Voices also become muted as well. I tried these on a recent flight and honestly, I had the best sleep in a while.
Lightweight construction and very comfortable on ears. Case is a bit bulky but i'm not complaining. Overall, no regrets buying this.

Incredible headphones. These headphones are so comfortable and fit well on my head. Noise Cancelling is amazing, in fact we played the "whisper challenge" where we use these headphones, listen to music and someone tries to talk to you, and you have to say what that person said. Let me say no one could get a word correct even though they were right in front of you. The only con to these headphones is the price, $300 will put a small dent in your pockets.

Expensive, but indeed blocks out a good amount of ambient noise. I've only worn it in NYC, but so far so good. It's quiet enough to read in a subway car, but not too quiet when you need to pay attention when crossing the streets.
Just a few minuses:
- It does tend to cause a bit of a physical headache. I guess from the semi-vacuum ear environment.
- It is bulky
- Can cause your ear to sweat
- Noise canceller runs on AAA, so I suggest you buy rechargeable batteries and bring an extra with you all the time
- Sound quality is quite poor without noise cancellation
- Since noise cancellation technology is based on having an outside microphone and emanating an anti-sound of some sort, the sound of the wind is amplified as if someone is blowing directly into your ear. But then again, I'd take the sound of the wind over the sound of people and traffic.
Be realistic with your noise cancellation expectations. You will still hear things, especially high pitched ones. So babies squealing and sirens can still be heard.

Great headphones. I am a bose fan and looking forward to my vacation on the plane with my new headphones. So far I've tried them for listening to test the sound. Nose canceling is great. sound is crisp and clear.. Great product but very pricey.

This replaced my old broken Sony head phones the were over ten years old.
I am not a expert on sound but these are very nice and I think do a better job of noise cancelling.

My first set of any sort of noise-cancelling headphones, so I have nothing to compare. Although I was impressed, my expectations were slightly higher than what the product delivered. It is really good, only concern is the battery which needs often replaced.

First of all, the things you've heard about these headphones are true.
The sound is good but the noise cancelling, well, it's magic.
I used them around the office and even if they didn't make the sound disappear completely it was a nice feeling, an incredible isolation.
So why the 2 stars?
Well, I had to returned these headphones for a small problem: Immediately out of the box the inline remote control didn't work. And if I'm paying 300$ for top of the line headphones I expected them to be fully functional. I don't want them to break immediately out of the box. Nobody wants that.
I looked all over the internet for a solution but Bose didn't have any.
The inline remote didn't work with my macbook pro, ipad or iphone.
Maybe it's because this is a new model and they are still figuring things out: factory problems, apple compatibility, etc.
I'm definitely going to buy them next year, when they have completely fixed all of these glitches.

I was skeptical of this entire genre of headphones. #1 the sounds is great. #2 the noise cancelling on a plane or in an office not only works but works really well. I could not hear the plane but could have a conversation without shouting. ONly reason they are a 4 is after a few hours of straight use they get hot. Might be expected but I was unhappy to have to take them off and listen to the rest of the world while cooling off my ears.

Excellent fit, quality, and looks. Fits comfortably over my fairly large ears. I wore this for an entire 19 hours of flights between the U.S. and Vietnam, and they never got uncomfortable.

Was fairly sceptical about these and not sure about spending this much money on them, but after several long haul flights and short hops from LCY, I'm now completely won over by these headphones. They were bought for plane journeys but now I use them on my daily commute into town. They isolate me from the daily grind (use them on my commuter route on Greater Anglia) and are absolutely calming after a long days work. Brilliant.

I fly quite often and these headphones have a wonderful noise cancelling capacity. I listen to music and audio books and the sound is excellent. They are also quite comfortable to wear. I'm very happy with these headphones.

Awesome headphones. The noise canceling works great-- doesn't completely cut out the higher frequencies, but does an amazing job on lower frequencies.... traffic noises etc. Love these. The incredible silence these create means you don't have to have the audio blasting to get the complete experience headphones give you. They sound fantastic!!!

Read all the reviews and was a sceptic, but after a long flight with them I am a believer. I get anxiety on flights and these really helped my nerves by drowning out the chaos around. When I took them off to give my drink order to the flight attendant, the difference was astounding. No exaggeration.

Wow! Thats it in a nut shell. I have never owned a pair like these, yes, expensive but worth it and let me tell you why. I am an ordinary guy; losing his hearing and not into fancy music or upscaled audio of any kind. I manly use these for my piano practices (retired now with plenty of time on my hands). These make my practicing bearable! My songs seem brighter, bass is deeper, and I actually enjoy my own music; even the sharps and flats! I can't believe how the noise canceling is so terrific, I have actually had to kind of pop my ears alittle. I do not hear the wife calling me when I wear these (a plus right there). I absolutey love them and can hear movies on my ipad again! Highly recommend!

I'm a frequent flyer, serial commuter, and do extensive studying in coffee shops etc. With these headphones you forget that you are sitting on a train/plan etc. It blocks out conversations from people who are near you too in coffee shops, and other public areas. They are hands down the most comfortable headphones I bought. I had the beats pro before this, and am so glad i bought the qc25. Much more comfortable, and easier to travel with. IMHO (in my humble opinion) the sound quality on the qc25 is much better than the qc15. Deeper bass, richer sound, and better built overall.
If you are looking for comfy headphones, with excellent sound quality, and the ability to tune out planet earth look no further. Thx bose!

I am in love with these! The sound quality while listening to music has blown me away. I'm hearing subtle things in songs I never noticed before. The noise canceling is great as well. I've found that when there's no noise to cancel out (i.e. you just wear them in a quiet area) you'll hear a white noise. It's not overly annoying though. My roommate loves to play his music loudly in his room (which is right next to mine) so I hear it muffled through the walls. These block it out completely. They won't block out clear sounds (e.g. someone talking to you or voices on a tv). They work best for blocking out muffled sounds (e.g. music through a wall) or sounds without a lot of variation in pitches (e.g. the drone of an airplane)

Great headphones. They do a great job at blocking out sounds around you. I am disappointed a little with how others around me can hear the music I am listening to. Overall though, I love the quality of sound and the way it blocks out noise.
