Bought this as a Christmas gift. Yes, I said Christmas, not holiday, sue me. Very well made and the recipient was very pleased. It included a nice carrying case as well.

I love these headphones, I finally bit the bullet after putting off the purchase for so so long. I wish I hadn't - I can not imagine flying on a plane or riding the train without them now. I can't imagine trying to do an online training in my busy office without them! The bonus is that you can use them for phone calls too which is so great! I highly recommend these headphones if you travel regularly.

These are some very nice headphones.
Pros:
+ The noise cancellation feature is quite excellent. It's miles ahead of my other set of noise-canceling headphones (Sony MDRNC7/BLK). I can hardly hear outside noises when the headphones are activated. They do an admirable job of suppressing noises from airplane engines, open plan office spaces, and more.
+ The headphones fit very nicely and are comfortable. I can wear them all day at my desk with no discomfort.
+ The music sounds very good. For pure sound quality, I think I prefer my Sennheiser PC 310 Gaming Headset, but these Bose headphones aren't bad at all.
+ The on-headphone buttons and microphone work great when plugged into my MacBook Pro. My Android Nexus 4 doesn't seem to recognize the microphone or volume buttons, but the center button works to pause and unpause music.
+ For headphones as expensive as these, having the ability to replace the cable when necessary is a very nice touch. With the cable removed, these still work great to block outside noise, you (obviously) can't play any music in this mode though.
+ The included case seems lightweight but sturdy. It has a slot for an extra battery and the airplane adapter: another nice touch.
Cons:
- When the noise cancellation feature is powered off, the sound quality drops off dramatically. For this reason I wouldn't want to use these headphones without an extra battery available.
- The noise cancellation feature is really quite excellent. Other people in the same room have to make a special effort to get my attention when I am using these.
- The price. I'm extremely grateful to have gotten a free pair of these headphones to review, but I doubt I would be willing to pay $300 for them.
Overall, I think these headphones are a winner if noise cancellation is your primary concern. If you just want some amazing sound quality and don't need noise cancellation, you might have better luck with a different model.

I bought this 5 months ago and today the right side of the headphones does not work. This is the second one I received from Amazon. The first one I got it had a problem where the audio had static noise so Amazon exchanged it for nothing since it was within 30 days. Now the right side does not work so I have to deal with Bose directly. I would not buy this again. It is shocking to me that after spending $300 on an item and it failed on me twice. Boo to Bose!!!! You just have lost a customer. Good luck if you decide to buy it after reading this review.

After seeing good review I tested this product in bestbuy and purchased it.
its noise canceling quality become poor after using 5 days. I also tried to change battery but no improvement.
This product causes headaches because of its antinoise wave.
I'll return this product.

These headphones are fantastic, the noise cancelling works very well, though it doesn't cut out all vocals (which I believe is intentional, for office use, etc.)
However, if you turn on the noise cancelling and play something at a moderate to high volume, you won't hear anyone or thing other than the music.
The sound is very good, however one must remember the saying "garbage in, garbage out.".. Aka if you use these headphones with a low quality sound source, you can't expect the audio to be the best.
All that being said, the primary function here is the noise canceling, if you don't need noise cancelling, these are probably not the headphones for you. The sound quality can be met with a cheaper headset, however getting good sound and noise cancelling in the same device is not easy nor cheap.
So if you need to cut distractions, these may be a good pair for you, if you have the money to spare!

Great sound quality, very comfortable and impressive noise-cancelling ability. I had a pair of Beats noise cancelling headphones that I returned and got these Bose instead - the Bose are slightly better in every way.

Very comfortable for long durations, even when wearing glasses. Comfortably fits even a large size head (7 5/8" hat size). Excellent noise cancelling in the office, haven't tried it elsewhere yet but I imagine it will do an excellent job anywhere. Great sound.

Bought as a gift and you get what you pay for. Great sound and comfort as well as mobility. One of the few high dollar headphones that are actually worth it.

Excellent headphones for airplanes and noisy environments. The bass is clear and deep for hip-hop music, while you still get the high notes from classical sounds.

Headphones for Samsung/Google standards were not met. Rcvd Apple cable/jack. Spent a lot of time trying to determine the problem. Bose sent a replacement snail mail (7 to 10 days) after acknowledgment of their error). I paid max cost for high end headphones and was treated like I paid chump change. Bose tech support indicated that this is not a unfamiliar problem. . .

I have owned a couple pairs of Bose head phone ets with an audio cord. My current pair works great. Based upon the reviews that I've read here I am holding off on buying this wireless set until Bose works out the problems mentioned. Besides the audio cord model has fantastic sound and noise cancelling at $100 less than the wireless model. Good luck.

Love the clear sound, the comfort, and the travel case. Also love that they will continue to work for as headphones for sound (without the noise-cancelling function) when the battery dies - this seems like a no brainer.

Cable is flimsy, and it gets disconnected if you turn your head, so you end up listening only on the left ear, so you adjust it, then you move your head again and you lose sound, you adjust it again, you get some noise and then your music... then you move your head and starts all over again...

These are the best headphones to date I have ever had. The noise cancellation really helps block out all the unnecessary noises. The sound quality it top notch. It's also very comfortable and has a firm attachment to your head. The cable for the iPhone audio port also is conveniently designed to fit well. I like the white design too. The case is almost perfect. I'm very happy with this product.

I've been a proud owner of the Bose QC-15 headphones for almost 2 years. I was quite happy with them but when I saw the QC-25's available from Bose.com, I immediately sold my QC-15's on Ebay and purchased the QC-25's. After doing so, I became a bit concerned, thinking maybe I should have waited for an in-store demo to test the sound and noise-cancelling before purchasing. Now that I've received the QC-25's in the mail, my concern was in vain. The QC-25's are a great set of headphones and a worthy upgrade from the QC-15's. The noise-cancelling and overall sound quality seem to be a bit better then the QC-15's and they are very comfortable to wear. The bass is rich and deep, the mids are solid, and the highs are crisp. I've listened to hip-hop, gospel, jazz, metal, and R&B, and so far everything has sounded clear and detailed. I have no complaints about the sound other than I wish the headphones were a bit louder. They are plenty loud but I can't help wishing I could pump them up just a bit more. Maybe it's me, but they seem to be a tad bit lower than the QC-15's in volume. With the noise cancelling being so good though, you really won't need to blast them to hear the music clearly. The QC-25's will also play without a battery. Something the QC-15's won't do. The sound is a bit muffled and not as good without the battery but at least they still play. The only negative I have about the headphones is the cable. Not to say it's a bad cable but Bose are Apple fanboys and their cable only works fully with Apple products. If you have an Android phone, the volume buttons, and previous track features won't operate. On Android, the mic, play/pause, and next track are the only features available. In my opinion, there shouldn't be a reason for Bose not to at least produce a cable that gives Android users as much functionality as Apple users. In conclusion, I think anyone that liked the QC-15's will like the QC-25's a bit more.

I have three kids ages 7, 5 and 2. The sound cancelling function was no match for the noise in my house. I had to crank up the volume of the music just like regular cheap headphones. Not worth the price so I returned them.

You will learn to appreciate how good the noise cancellation on this thing is. Granted, it won't block loud dialogues spoken near you, but when you are on a plane or a train or in a crowd with background noise, put this headphones on and you will be able to enjoy your music in a silent bliss.
It is very comfortable even for listening up to 6 hours straight. The battery life is not that bad, and you can generally enjoy up to three days of normal listening. The concept behind using one AAA battery is that you can easily buy a replacement battery at a convenience store if you ever run out of battery during travel. For home users, I recommend rechargeable Panasonic eneloop batteries.
If I am forced to report one thing I don't like about this headphone, it is the non-glossy plastic feel and the mesh texture at the top of the head band. It kind of gives a cheap feeling, but I think it is used to make the headphones light and comfortable on your head.

I purchased this in particular for airline flights and found myself very pleased with it's ability to minimize the noise.
