These are ok for noise canceling but not too good for music. I needed to replace my old Bose noise canceling headphones and I looked around for a better replacement but I ended up buying Bose again. They are for plane rides only, they do a great job of covering up the jet noise. I would never listen to music if I had a choice though. They don't sound as good as my 10 year old pair Bose did. The stuffing disintegrated in those old ones or I would still be using them. They are not made to last long, 10 years is about all you'll get out of them. Bose is a heavily marketed company and they don't spend much on making good sound, that 300 dollars a pair has to go somewhere and Bose spends lots of it on marketing I'm afraid. It's too bad they do that because most people already know about Bose headphones but they also know that sound is not a priority at that company. No Highs, lots of one note bass, I guess that's what the kids today want, all base and not much else. Excellent at noise reduction and that's the only reason to buy these.

Bought as a gift for my husband after reading a number of reviews. He returns everything but I struck it rich on this purchase. Absolutely loves them! The noise cancelling feature is astounding and the sound and clarity of music is unbelievable, plus they are extremely comfortable to wear. I strongly suggest for any music lover or traveler. These will definitely make our airline flights much more pleasurable for him . . . and me.

I love these things! Sound quality is amazing and they block out all outside noise. They are perfect for airplane travel. I'm on long haul flights about four times a year and sometimes wear these while I sleep without playing music just to block out the chatter of passengers flight attendants etc. They're comfortable enough to sleep in. My ears do not get hot or irritated even after hours of wear. Great carrying case including a slot for an extra battery. Great design, great product.

I have sensory issues where I get overwhelmed in public. These are amazing they're noise canceling and even if I don't turn them on they're noise reducing. I can wear them all day and they don't hurt my head or my ears. The sound is amazing too when listening to music or watching something on my phone and they're perfect for phone calls. I just put my phone in my pocket and I'm free to move around and cook or whatever

I have a couple of QC-15 headphones which have accompanied my wife and I on numerous *really long* International flights over the years, and we consider them essential travel items as they are both comfortable and make it actually possible to use the airplane's entertainment system - or an iPod/iPad - for 12 hours or more. You can actually hear what you're listening to in comfort, with Bose QC headphones, and not simply listen to the annoying combination of the noise of jet engines and the air rushing past the cockpit intermingled with the faint whispering of whatever it was you were actually trying to listen to! The airline-provided headphones are simply no comparison.
Anyway, I recently acquired a pair of these newer QC-25 headphones, and while I have yet to take a long flight with them, I can say they're definitely and clearly improved. The case is flatter and easier to stick in the back of an airline seat, the overall headphones are thinner, more comfortable, and the quality of the sound is higher. Overall, a truly worthy upgrade to the venerable QC-15! Now I just need to buy another pair for my wife...

Like some of the most negative reviews, my left speaker cut out after less than 3 months. I did not contact Amazon instead went straight to Bose. They ask you for your serial number and if it is under warranty, will replace the headphones. Only thing is you need to pay for shipping to Bose.
I do like the headphones. I have used the QC15 as well. Compared to the QC15, the QC25 are more comfortable on the head and around the ear. The noise cancelling of the QC15 would also create an uncomfortable sensation in the ear and back of the throat, I do not experience the same with the QC25. I cannot tell if they cancel out more sound than the QC15 but they are definitely more comfortable in every way.
My 4 stars are for the sound quality, noise cancellation, comfort and style. Minus one star for having to exchange them. However, Bose has so far been very accommodating.

I've been a fan of Bose for a long time. My ten year old pair bit the dust and I turned to Amazon to overnight a pair before a trip to Asia. I'm so glad I did as airplane noise and I are not good friends, especially on my flight which had numerous small kids who were struggling to fall asleep and spent their time calling for their mom who was one row back. It was with relief that I turned these on. Bliss!!
I was lucky enough to be bumped to Business class on Cathay Pacific where they provide free noise cancelling headphones. I compared the two and it was no contest. The Bose headphones cancelled out much more noise, were lighter on my head, and fit nicely over my glasses with thick side pieces. The fact that you can cancel noise without plugging these in is a terrific feature. I've taken to using them at home when I am trying to work.
Music sounds clear and compelling, as you would expect from Bose. I'm not sophisticated enough to suss out all the details of the sound, but these are Bose for cripes sake. You can't go wrong.

I bought my first pair of these in December 2014. I really did like them - great sound and good noise canceling. The right ear bud stopped working within 2 months. Bose was quick to exchange with a replacement pair.
I am now exchanging the second pair for the same exact problem 7 months later - right ear bud has stopped working. Again, Bose has been quick to offer exchange, no questions asked.
I do not know what is up with the construction of these headphones but I am pretty careful with these and always keep them in the case when not in use and I only use them at the office or on the plane.
Stay clear unless you don't mind replacing every year before the warranty runs out.

The sound quality of these headphones is fantastic. Really its very good. You hear more depth in whats going on than you would with a cheaper pair of headphones. I took away 2 stars because I bought these to travel with and I noticed that when I handed these to my boyfriend next to me, I could hear EVERYTHING he was listening to. It's not enough for me to return them or anything but still enough to make me listen to music/movies on a lower volume when I'm around others. Now, if you really don't care about other people.... then these are totally for you :-P

The right side of the headset stopped working after a year of purchase including the noise cancellation. If I push the cup to my ear, then it works, however, that is not convenient. I unfortunately could not get an exchange with Bose because it was past the limited warranty date (by two weeks). The product was good for the time I used it, but I am extremely disappointed in Bose.

After suffering for years with Audio Technica headphones I broke down and bought the outrageously priced Bose. Not only are the kind to my ears they reduce noise noise much better than the AT and the Sennheiser I used to own. As for the sound, perhaps not as rich in the bass as the Sennheiser but an acceptance compromiae of comfort, portability and ease of use. And the detachable cord insures that you will spend $10 and not $300 for a replacement when you cut it

Pretty good. Not sure why they need to be so expensive, but the sound cancellation works great. The audio is between good and very good. If you fly much you will find that sound cancellation is a major jet lag eliminator. You don't think about it until you get something like this, but the endless buying and whining of jet engines is hard on the nerves in a subliminal way. Whenever I wear these I arrive where I'm going fresh and unjangled.

These headphones are extremely comfortable with impressive sound quality, but think *twice before buying them at this price*. I received my headphones just under a month and a half ago, and the sound has already gone in the right earpiece. £267 pounds for a month and a half of use? Looking at Amazon reviews, this is an extremely common problem, but I didn't expect to have it after a mere 1.5 months. Really dissatisfied and upset.
Not obvious whether it's possible to get these replaced, when I click the "Return and Replace" button under "My Orders", it says it could only be returned/replaced within the first month.

Unbelievable sound. I used to won many different headphones in my life but nothing more then $200. Then one day by accident I had a chance to buy brand new set of Bose qc25 white/blue for half of retail as my friend bought couple boxes and couldn't return all. After listening few days I could not believe how comfortable these are. I can have then on my head for 8 hours easily and don't feel any fatigue. Many people say without turning on active noise canceling sound quality is reduced for me this not the case. I can listen with anc on or off and quality of sound is great.
Why I give 4 stars to the Boss qc25 is because of the proprietary headphone cable and low build quality. I don't say that materials used are all high end rather it feels that these headphones can easily brake. For example after 3 days wearing them I did scratched Boss badges on both sides just because it was catching cover on the car seat.

The headphones themselves are great. However, the 56 inch headphone cable is the main issue--it's simply too long. I can see why the cable has a quick release plug from the headphones themselves. I cannot tell you how many times I've pulled the cable out of the headphones. I work at a desk and countless times the cable has hung below my desk and gotten looped around my knee and pulled out or got wrapped around my keyboard and gotten pulled out. If it were about a foot shorter, it would be perfect.

THESE ARE GREAT ! ! I have had other noise canceling headphones but these are 'top shelf'. Drowns out engine noise on planes, screaming kids, obnoxious adults. Imagine being able to go to a Starbucks and read a books without leaving without every nerve on edge. Just get the coffee, sit down, turn on the headphones (with or without music) and read to your hearts content.

These are not durable..mine stopped working recently after 5 month of moderate use and great care. I am disappointed that I choose to invest in these headphones. I am now realizing this after reading lot of comments about durability of this model.
This much expensive product MUST be durable and meet high quality standards. What's the guarantee these will not stop working again. I believe BOSE should give extended warranty to these kind of defective products.
Liked the sound and Noise cancellation but what's the use when they stop working so quickly. Had a chat with customer care and they said they are going to replace/repair my headsets. Not going to buy any other product.

Result: only left side sound worked 95% of the time.
Great service from Amazon, DISAPPOINTED in Bose. Bose products are usually high quality in construction and function. These headphones felt cheap and didn't work.
We ended up buying Beats over ear wireless studio headphones for my wife. They work much better and show better build quality.
Bose lost a customer here.

I am mostly into Bose NC headphones for the actual noise canceallation factor. I use them to sleep at night with a white noise app running because I live on a busy street. I already own the QC 15s and love them. I decided to try these just to check them out. The only difference between these and the 15's are that the ear cups are smaller and tighter on smaller ears and heads. The sound is just as great at the 15 and the NC is exactly the same. They also don't have a high/low switch which sucks because I use them on low sometimes if I have a headache. I'm going to return them and wait until my 15's die. Great headphones but if you have the 15's don't bother upgrading, not worth the money. Horrible decision discontinuing the 15's by Bose. IMO they are superior to this model.
UPDATE - I slept with them on last night and I sleep on my side (yeah, I know, I'm destined to break them); My husband said some idiot was outside our house blasting the car horn at 5:30am and I slept right through it. I actually found these MORE comfortable than the 15's as they are made for smaller heads I guess. They give a tighter seal around the ear. They were much more comfortable to sleep on that the 15's. So for noise cancellation alone. I give them 5 stars and just 3 for sound.

These are the be best headphones I have ever owned. Sound quality is excellent. Noise cancelling is excellent. Even with noise cancelling turned off these are good. I like to listen with noise cancelling turned off to save battery life when watching TV. Turned on when listening to music. The only problem I have is that they are a little uncomfortable after long periods of time. I usually rest after two hours. In other words, watching a movie is no problem.

These are decent headphones for MP3 or compressed old style iTunes music and as such get 1 star, but when I compared them to a pair of headphones from any of several other true (no gimmick) headphones, these fall to sub par and not even close to being worth the money. They isolate you like so many others like those from Sony and other companies (Grados are really good if you don't need to be isolated), but in terms of real "life like" sound, forget it. The bass, especially, is not close to being accurate. Noise canceling headphones in general do so by sending your ear a signal that is opposite from what it picks up outside. Right there they have changed the music you hear. These may work for people who don't really care about the quality of the music, but with the new style music players, like Pono among others, and the big move to higher quality downloads and AIFF files on an iPod, Bose falters big time. For MP3 or basic old downloads they are reasonable, but not if you really like your music. If you want to hear what is good, at least go check out some of the ones from the better audio companies so you can make an honest decision. One listen to one of the better brand names at an audio store was all that was necessary for me.

These work beautifully and the white is so nice. My wife loves that the case is more compact than the previous generation. My wife loves to read and these allow her to read where ever she wants without the outside distraction. When plugged into her iPhone for music the audio quality is what you'd expect from Bose. The pads fit around your ear instead of on top of your ear which allows for greater comfort when wearing them for a longer duration.

These are the best headphones I've owned. Comfortable, good sound even when not turned on, remarkable noise cancelling. I own the in-ear Bose noise-cancelling (QC 20i) headphones (good sound when turned on, awkward dongle for noise cancellation, pretty ineffective noise-cancelling) as well as the bluetooth on-ear Bose Soundlink headphones. For times when I'm OK with the cord, these are great.

The noise canceling is not as Good as it claims to be. I don't know if the headphones came defective or if the noise canceling is very minimal. Does no cancel out conversations, factory equipment, or airplane noise. When i turn off the supposed noise canceling, the difference in sound quality is poorer. I bought this for studying in the library or listening to lectures on the noisy bus ride to school and it does not work very well.
It is definitely not worth the money. The only good thing about these headphones are that they are very comfortable.
