I got these headphones for my wife so she can concentrate while doing her homework. She said and I quote, "These headphones are freaking awesome. Putting them on and flipping the switch on the side is like you're in your own quiet little world." The overall quality of these headphones are amazing. If you're trying to decide between Beats or Bose... definitely go with these, they're worth it.

Amazon has only a 30day return policy, Bought these in Aug 2015 and the right speaker went out in Oct 2015. Bose didn't help with everyone seems happy to keep my $299. So will enjoy my paperweight...

The Bose QC25 are a pair of noise canceling headphones at a $300 price point. High quality sound with proper noise canceling to match. However I found that too much surrounding noise causes the headphones to skip, which is highly frustrating and their fatal flaw. Also for $360 with insurance the materials don't seem premium, which I would expect. Sessions over 45 minutes cause these to feel a bit uncomfortable, so I returned mine.

Literally the best 300 dollars I have ever spent! I travel a lot and spend a lot of time working in tents with very noisy heat/ac. These block so much of the background noise that it almost plays with your mind. Try them they will not disappoint you!

Thought I'd treat myself to a set of Bose QC 25 after I lost my Panasonic noise cancelling headphones on a recent trip. The sound quality is great and the noise cancelling does not interfere with the music reproduction.
Also, with the good Euro exchange rate I ordered these from amazon.es and even with the £12 next day delivery charge they only came to £194. Bit of a bargain really.

QC 25s are very comfortable even for extended wear on long flights. I like the fact that they work fairly well even if you forget the spare battery. (I always mean to carry a spare, but then I don't remember it until the first one dies in flight). I tried less expensive ones, and there was no comparison.

I now sleep on transatlantic flights. Rarely slept any significant amount on long trips. Now I can sleep for several hours at a time even though I fly Economy. A quiet cocoon of peace and solitude.
Listening to audio or watching video you keep the volume much lower than what you would need with ear buds or a cheap headset. Much easier on eardrums that way.
I also use these on AMTRAK. Makes you feel detached from the rumble and clang of the train. I find my self noticing the landscapes passing by on both sides of the train, seems like I am watching a movie and I am not in the picture.

These headphones are actually amazing! I live in a rather noisy area - loads of ambient noise (people, cars, appliance) - and these cut out nearly everything completely. It's a great way to get a little piece and quiet!
They also work well with music, though that was my secondary reason to get these (mainly I wanted a good noise canceller!). I'm definitely not an audiophile, so can't really speak to whether these are "good" music headphones or not. They work well for me, so that's all I care about.
Also I love that you can use the NC feature with or without the headphone cord attached. Makes it nice when you just want to sit in the quiet and think/study/read. I plan to try them out at work tomorrow (I just bought these over the weekend), and am hopeful that they will provide better thinking space in my buzzing office environment!

It's not a secret that Bose sound quality is exaggerated, and that it is not on par with audiophile equipment. Having said that, it is second to none in the noise cancellation department. It was comfortable for two 18-hour international flights. Whenever I took them off I would be astonished at how much noise there was on the plane. Battery life is true to its word. No word on durability yet, as I have only used them for two months. As a graduate student, these cans will prove to be invaluable.

I don't recall if I ordered these from Amazon or directly from Bose, but they are wonderful for my purposes. I am very sensitive to thumping bass noises, and unfortunately I live near a large outdoor concert facility. These are the best for blocking out that kind of noise. I don't know how they do it! I can attach my iPod and listen to white noise also, but just the noise-cancelling feature alone is wonderful. Other sounds come through (for example, a person speaking or the TV) which is fine with me. I can't speak to how these are for listening to music because I don't use them for that.

wear it all the time when i am flying (2 trips /mth) and it cuts off the harmful engine humm and puts a different dimensions to music outdoors... you can actually hear a high level of detail in tracks you play

Hmmm... Only one thing to complain: The jack on the left side is not tight in a collision (with shoulder, collar,...). Sometimes I have to use my hands to adjust it. And why don't they use the 3.5mm jack for this? With 3.5mm, we can replace the cable easier.

I really do like these headphones for their noise cancelling, but the 'new' feature of them continuing to work without batteries is worthless. The audio quality is terrible unless the noise cancelling circuitry is turned on.

Compared to my Bose QC 15, this one is not worth the upgrade.
Let us start with the GOODS: in terms of comfort and portability, the 25 is definitely better. The noise cancellation also improved slightly.
As for the CONS: the new sound signature is not for me. I prefer the 15 over this one. The 25 has a higher bass emphasis which muffled the mids and highs. If you are a bass person, i guess this headphone is for you. If not, then look else where.
If you want sound quality, check out Beoplay H6 or H8 (this one has Noise Cancellation).
Update 08/2015: I bought this product again due to portable demands that my qc 15 could not offer. Of course, I got a good deal. After some burn in time, I compared the the 15 and 25 again. The 25 has better passive noise isolate and improved lower frequency noise cancellation (try it with the AC and you will see what I mean). In terms of sound quality, the bass of the 25 is still sloppy compared to other headphones I have like the Senheiser HD 598. The problem is I don't feel any punch from the 25. The bass on the HD 598 is a lot tighter. The vocals on the 25 is an improvement, probably because of the more emphasis on the higher-mids. Overall, I enjoyed this product and change my mind that this is worth an upgrade, eventhough the differences are not that noticeable at first. Give it some burn in time and you will be surprised.

So let me precede this review by stating I'm a bit of an audiophile and typically listen to in-ear headphones as the sound quality is excellent on headphones over £150 and they're really convenient on the tube. Saying that I have found that they start to hurt my ears after about an hour, so I was very interested in the Bose cans. The Bose headphones are packaged like an i-phone, there's a single set of instructions which aren't really needed as they're easy to use, including a nice L/R label in the inside of the headphones. I used my i-phone to test them out and on non-noise cancelling mode they sounded great, as you'd expect from Bose, they place their trademark bass across all tracks, from electronic, to punk to modern classical there was a real depth and richness to the sound. If I was being critical they do lack a little mid-range, but it's something you could easily live with. I tested the noise cancelling mode on the tube and was very impressed, they really did cancel out the noise of the train and announcements (no mean feat), again being slightly critical the noise-cancelling sounds made the music sound slightly tinnier but its a small sacrifice to blocking out 'outside' noise. Whilst they're a bit bulky for every day use, I can't wait for my next international trip as they'll be perfect for airplanes, and I can wear then for more than an hour because they're a lot more comfortable than my in-ear phones.

I received a pair of these as a christmas present for use on my daily train commute. After one week's use the right hand speaker went dead. I returned them to Bose in Birmingham and they replaced them without question. 5 weeks later they too failed - again the right hand speaker, this time intermittently, coupled with crackling and popping. Returned them for a full refund - I'm not wasting my time swapping them again, because they will fail. The cause as another reviewer has said is the wire that goes over the hinge - the continued flexing when you take out & put them back in the case is too concentrated in one short length. Potential buyers beware! You will be taking them back. And a word on the sound of them- the "professional" reviewers rate the sound quality, but they aren't that wonderful with the n.c. on. Also the noise cancelling, whilst not bad at removing general background noise, doesn't cancel voices very well - I guess this could be intentional. Overall a complete disappointment - I was thought Bose made good products.

Decent headphones and noise canceling works ok. For what I use them for, working on a tractor 8 hrs every weekend, I don't see the foam bands lasting very long. Time will tell. But, for the price I was expecting a more durable headphone. I will write back in 3 months. I don't expect them to last that long. I hope I am wrong.

Love these headphones. I could not believe the noise cancelling feature. I especially enjoy them for the long airline flight to Hawaii. I don't get fatigue from a too tight squeeze on the headphone or the earache from ear buds. They are easy to pack in my backpack too.

Acceptable NC. Acceptable sound quality. Disappointing power from one AAA - replacing all the time if used regularly (e.g. office use). Seem lighter duty than QC15s they replaced with several plastic pivots and connections that seem fragile and the likely POF. Disappointing inline mic draws comments such as "are you in a cave". Disappointing use of tiny-a$$ 2.5MM connector that plugs into recessed connection makes replacement of mic with something appropriate almost impossible - certainly but-ugly by the time you find an adaptor. Having tried/returned or worn out the Bose in-ear NC, iHush and Sennheiser NC buds/headsets, these are not really any better taken as a whole - just have fewer shortcomings.

I'm not an audiophile. But these are the best headphones I've ever owned. I've had Beats, Sony MDRV6, and few others over the years.
Up until now Sony MDRV6 was my favorite- it gave me the most even sound. I think Bose delivers the same quality of even sound plus the noise cancelation, which exponentially increases the crisp sound.
The icing on the cake was that it fits me great! I wore it straight for hours on an international flight to Asia, and I felt no discomfort. It's a first for me. I can't recommend these enough.

I was on the fence for a long time about buying noise canceling headphones. Noisy students in the office adjacent to my office finally pushed me over the edge and I sprang for these today. Wow. Here in my apartment I have been able to get work done. The drone of the world is gone. Other sounds, such as my typing this review are much reduced. I look forward to trying them out tomorrow at my office. Since I have ADD, my getting work done at my apartment is quite a feat. The brain of people with ADD doesn't screen out all the noise of the world the way other people's brains do. That's why stimulants work, they raise the "noise level" so that the ADD brain notices it and "turns the volume down." Well, now these headphones are doing that for me, and so far it is fantastic.
Music sounds great too. I listen to everything from dub step to classical (no country), and the detail is excellent, especially with high resolution studio master FLAC files. I'm listening to Other Lives now, and it sounds better than seeing them live. The great thing about noise canceling is the sounds of the world don't come back in quiet passages, you stay, "in the music."

I ordered these because they are the "best". Very comfortable and the noise reduction is phenomenal. Totally blocks out sounds...almost like wearing earplugs. It comes with a handy carrying case, battery, airplane adapter. I really like the case and the spare battery compartment. It folds up really nice in the case.
One thing I didn't notice before purchasing is that there is an Iphone/Ipod/Ipad version and a Samsung/Android version. I don't beleive there is a choice. I have a Samsung but received the Applr version. The headphones work fine, only the volume and microphone don't ...no big deal. I purchased the samsung/android line in microphone on their website. Amazon should specify which version they are selling you.

These are fantastic headphones. They're comfortable, stylish, sound awesome and the noise cancelling function is really really excellent.
I also have a pair of AKG K845BT headphones which are pretty good, but not a patch on these in terms of comfort and sound. The AKG are Bluetooth but after using both extensively, I would rather actually be plugged in by cable and use these lighter, comfier Bose headphones.
Fantastic headphones, better than the AKG K845BT and worth the extra cost.
I also have a pair of AKG K845BT headphones which are pretty good, but not a patch on these in terms of comfort and sound. The AKG are Bluetooth but after using both extensively, I would rather actually be plugged in by cable and use these lighter, comfier Bose headphones.

I received these headphones as a Christmas gift from my parents and instantly loved them. I am not an audiophile, but I listen to a lot of Audible books, Beats music, Youtube videos on my iPad and these headphones are amazing. It's a great experience to turn them on and shut the world out. It's my first pair of noise canceling headphones and all I can say is that I love it.
Our laundry room is on the second floor next to our bedroom and few days ago I had the dryer running late at night; after a few minutes I lifted my headphones to check that it was still working, because I couldn't hear any background noise. And yes, of course it was.
I also like that I can use regular (aaa) batteries to charge the headphones. My father has a previous model which uses a proprietory rechargeable battery and he says it takes a few hours to charge them.
My headphones feel light and comfortable and I can wear them for hours without even being conscious that I am wearing headphones. The microphone is build-in and therefore I can also use the headphones for FaceTime calls - the speaker quality seems to be very good, too.
Finally, I love the colors.

This particular item - Bose QC 25 - is only designed to work with Apple products according to included manual and the Bose web site. I was not able get it to work with my recent and 5 years old Nokia phones as well as kids' Android phone and laptop.According to Bose, they also make "special" QC 25 version for Samsung. Sadly, there is no universal QC 25 version which would work with any device like any other headphones I have seen to date.
In my opinion, headphones or headset with 3.5mm standard audio jack should just work with anything with the correct headphones output. At minimum the seller should clearly and visibly state that this item is intended for Apple iThings only.
Kudos to Amazon, for accepting the item return without any trouble.

I am a "screaming baby" magnet on any flight. These are now part of my backpack carry-ons---a must!!! No more screaming babies---or at least that I can hear. The minute I buckle in I crank up the music and never hear anything else. Hope they never make an announcement I might need to hear----because I'll miss it! These are awesome!!!

This product is really great. They are very light and very comfortable. If you don't have a lot of experience with noise cancelling tech, you will be very surprised at how effective it is at first. Then after about a week, you will find yourself wishing that it caught more sounds, especially random sounds like voices and clicks and things like that. The tech is really best at cancelling deeper droning noises (airplane engines, hvac noises, and the like). The sound quality is amazing as per usual with Bose.
I find that my glasses, which are not really low profile, break the seal around my ears a little which lets in a tad of that otherwise cancelled noise. Not the products fault, just a thought for you glasses wearers.
Here's another use for the headphones. I have a two year old that really appreciates it when things quiet down (I'm working hard not to use the expression "sensory kid"). I find that my glasses, which are not really low profile, break the seal around my ears a little which lets in a tad of that otherwise cancelled noise. Not the products fault, just a thought for you glasses wearers.
Here's another use for the headphones. I have a two year old that really appreciates it when things quiet down (I'm working hard not to use the expression "sensory kid").
