Cons
- THE MICROPHONE SUCKS and I get complaints all the time. It really annoys me, because everyone else on the call is using their laptop or apple headphones and I have my $300 bose headphones and people tell me they're too quiet and they can't hear me ALL THE TIME. If you think you're going to be taking calls on it often and are looking to use the microphone a lot, then I would reconsider

the noise canceling feature helped me through a very loud time at my apartment, when they were re doing units around me and that meant constant loud banging noises from all sides! It also blocks out the dishwasher and the AC noises, which is great for when I study. I plan on using them on the plane as well, hoping they'll work just as well.
I generally don't use them to listen to music, but I have and the sound is very good. I am not a high tech person, but this product does exactly what i needed it to do, which is cancel out unwanted noises.
The only down side is the fact that it uses one AAA battery. I hate batteries, they are so wasteful! However, I compromised by using rechargeable ones. I hope those who read this review will do the same.

They do reduce the background noise a lot, sound wonderful, are very comfortable and light but strong at the same time.
I would recommend them to anyone.

UPDATE: Day number 32. Went on the fritz, Left side started to play funny games, as in All I&O^(*^%%&**'ed up type of noises, no noise canceling. Had to go back to Bose for a replacement. If the next one does the same thing. Then I WILL want my money back and head for a different brand. Will continue to update.

Very pleased with this purchase. Worth the price for me.

However the audio quality of the Polk's really is quite a lot better, particularly in the depth and clarity of the lows. The Bose seems comparatively thin in the lows and overemphasized in the mid range. The Polk's to me seem much more neutral across a very wide spectrum. Don't get me wrong, the Bose sound great if I listen to them by themselves, the differences become more apparent when I A/B them.
Have been delighted using the Bose on my flights and for long home use, but I still prefer the Polk's when I'm at home for shorter (eg < 1 hour) listening stints.
I've used both to make phone calls with an iPhone and through a computer with skype, and both seemed to work equally well. For that, the comfort of the Bose is a win since the audio quality doesn't matter.
