-A happy customer

Instead of buying just the cable, I decided to upgrade my headphone with the noise canceling feature as I'm traveling a lot and working in open space.
So far, they are really nice and this is totally what I could expect:
- The sound quality is really nice (not the best though)
- The noise canceling is AWESOME, obviously you will still hear people speaking, but this is not the purpose, the low frequency are completely removed, it's really comfortable.
- The case/quality is really nice and comfortable.
To be honest, at this price, they are the best on the market ...

Another bad thing about these headphones are sound quality. The quality is terrible, comparing to the cheaper BOSE OE2 I bought three years ago and that is about half of their price.
Noise cancelling is not good enough on airplane. But it does works on most of other situation, like in your office.
UPDATE: I contact the Bose via phone, they ask me to return the headphones back, and they will ship a new pair for me. I hope the new ones work more reliable.

My issues where only with Noise Reduction set to "ON" where it sounded like I had an intermittent fault on the cable OR with the plug.
FYI -- TRY REPLACING THE ENERGIZER WITH A DURACELL FIRST.
Hope this helps!

The headband has a nice cushion that rests comfortably on the top of my head. The slider adjusts more smoothly and accurately than any other pair of headphones I have ever encountered.
The headphones collapse and fit snugly in the provided hard case. I appreciate the piece of mind that I get from knowing that my headphones are at least a little protected when I pack them.
There are two levels of noise canceling on these. First is just how well the cups fit over your ears and keep sound out. This works great on its own. And then you turn on the active noise cancellation and you have an entirely different experience. The test I always give my noise canceling headphones (don't judge me) is to walk into the bathroom and turn on the overhead fan then put on the headphones and see the difference. I also use these at work and I am entertained when I realize how long my coworkers have been standing behind me trying to get my attention without realizing that I couldn't hear them.
For the active noise cancellation, the headphones take a AAA battery (included). You get 35 hours from one battery, which doesn't seem like a lot, but it is probably comparable with how much time other rechargeable sets get with a charge. I will use rechargeable AAA batteries so it will be a non-issue. The case even has a place to hold a spare battery, which is convenient. (I think that the latch to close the battery compartment does seem a little poorly made and I fear that it will stop locking properly at some point and I will have to use tape or something.)
My last set of Bose was the Quiet Comfort 3, which I still use (because I just replaced the pads last year). Bose headphones last for a long time if you treat them well. The QC25s are a marked improvement from the QC3. I like the over-the-ear style much more than the on-the-ear. The noise cancellation is much better and I could not be happier with the sound.

Now, I have not been using this QC25 model long enough to see if the cracking is happening around the same parts (over the head band and all the joints), but this one does have wider ‘over the head band’ part which is also combination of plastic and metal.
The reason I mentioned the Jabra model is because these two noise canceling headphones are almost identical in design. Both have about same size, weight (QC25 is a couple of ounce heavier) and functionality. The difference I found, simply, is that the QC25 has slightly better noise canceling and better audio quality. The big difference I found is that the QC25 is quite comfortable even for a long hours of usage.
How well does this noise canceling work? I don’t have the means of measuring it technically, but I can say the headphone cancels surrounding noises about 80~90% most of the times. In a noisy environment, such as commuting via mass transit or lawn mowing, this headphone works quite well. I still remember the first time I tried the Bose’s noise canceling headphone in their store many many years back. It was amazing and quite a new experience trying out active noise canceling technology. This particular model is no different from my past experience. Whether I ride on a subway or my neighbor mows the lawn early in the morning, this headphone quiets the noise down to the level I feel comfortable not hearing the unwanted noises. Sometimes I have my kid to put this on when I and my wife need to have a private conversation in the car. I let him listen to an audiobook or music while we talk, and he doesn’t even hear when I am calling him sometimes. However, in the situations of dialoging from TV or radio is on, if the headphone's volume is low, I found the noise canceling is less effective. Yet, most of the time, noises such as from helicopters, airplanes (I live near an airport), sirens, subway, bus, lawn mowing, and construction
can be canceled quite effectively and actively.

Not being an audiophile I'm not going to get into how they respond to all the different frequencies, whether they are good for bass, treble etc. etc. but rather concentrate on what their main selling point is, noise cancelling.
Like their predecessor, the QC25 are over-ear rather than on-ear like the QC3. For me, this makes them much more comfortable to wear and there is no pressure on the ear. It also helps eliminate un-cancelled noise. Like the QC15, they are powered by a standard AAA battery so no annoying chargers needed. Bose have now eliminated the need for a special cable by allowing standard cable to connect to the headphones. Other changes are that extra hinges have been added to to the headband to allow it to fold smaller. The hard case is now a touch narrower so makes packing easier, but a nice drawstring bag would be a great addition when travelling light. One slight difference that in no way affects performance is the sides are now a more subtle grey rather than the silver. You still get the in-line volume +/- and function button that works like a charm on my iPhone and iPad.
Performance. As mentioned before, if you're looking for a detailed report on how the sound is reproduced, you won't find find it here. That said, to my ears, both music, audiobooks and films are clear, without distortion and of a mid-volume. When you place the headphone on while turned off, ambient sound is only slightly muted (as you would expect) but when you turn them on, you can hear the background noise fade away as the noise-cancelling technology kicks in.This makes what ever you are listening too sound clearer too.
I've not had chance to try them out on a flight, but will do before Christmas 2014. Once done, I'lll update this review.
At £270 they are not a cheap option, but if you value peace and quiet on a long flight, the cost divided by flights used makes it much more attractive and they are far better than most of the standard airline headphones.

The lone con is that when the noise canceling feature is off there is a moderate dip in overall sound quality. I know I know, I owned Beats what the hell do I know about sound quality. It's not enough of a dip for me to dock any points, but it is noticeable.
Overall insanely happy with these. If you're anything like me, coming from headphones that are more about style than anything, these are a welcome change and a definite upgrade.

Okay - so aesthetically they aren't as pleasant on the eye as some other models - but I like a metallic industrial look and these are rounded, curvy plastic - they don't feel expensive, they don't feel fragile - just not quite as premium as I'd expect for £270. They are nice and light though and incredibly comfortable once on. In fact, I've wore these for several hours continuously and didn't get any kind of ear ache or pressure cramp, they feel luxurious.
To start with I used these without noise reduction and they sounded superb, easily as good as some expensive Panasonic `phones I've had for a few years. Volume was nice and loud and they didn't sound in any way tinny. The range of audio was as I'd expect from a top-end set of headphones. I used the in-line controls along with my iPod Touch, they work well but ultimately I opted to control directly from my iPod. Once I'd listened to a few tracks I switched the noise cancelling on, I noticed a slight sensation (almost like an increase in air pressure) - but it was only slight, and noticed the difference in audio straight away. Background noise was not just minimised, but shut out completely and I was able to be immersed in the music.
I tried these in different situations and they performed *every* time, the only time background noise was still audible was when I was listening got spoken word (a podcast called "Cultdom Collective") and I was just about able to hear people talking around me - but only just and it was never noticeable when I was listening to music.
In a nutshell: I recommend these, I can't say they are the best for the money and the truth is that style and substance need to be considered when paying a hefty sum for a pair of cans - and these aren't the most stylish. They are incredibly comfy, and incredibly effective, but they do look a little plasticky.

Sound quality is abysmal. If you are an audiophile you will not be satisfied at all.
The other problem I have is that these headphones are not wireless. You can use the noise cancelling feature wirelessly, but you cannot use them while listening to music wirelessly.
If they added bluetooth for audio and upped the sound quality these would be 5/5 stars.
I absolutely love my Bose Soundlink speaker. These don't match up at all.

1. great sound and great noise cancelling
but
They got broken 2 times already - right headphone stopped working completely. I cared about them very well and I really dont think it was my fault. first time they got broken after about a year, second time, another 6 months. The problem which I discovered today - broken right headphone - even more annoying is - it got broken 1 day after guarantee has finished :/ If you search on internet you will see that actually they have kind of design problem.
It's better to buy noise cancelling plugs for 1 GBP and great headphones, which are more solid that Bose QC 25 :/ Sorry bose but I won't buy your fragile products anymore :/

I don't know about other happy users of the QC25, but the noise cancelling function is very annoying and uncomfortable. When it's on, (and I have to adjust the ear cushions so they "barely" cover my entire ears; otherwise some noise would still "leak in") it feels like my ears are under water with tremendous pressure.
I had tried the QC15, and they certainly didn't feel like this. I cannot recommend these QC25 headphones.

On a related note: I purchased the Bose SoundSport In-ear phones for working out (bike riding) and within a month they developed heavy static. Again, another Bose product failing on durability and another task on my todo list.
I expect more from this company.
