I use these headphones to study. I'm a busy 3rd year medical student and our student lounge at the hospital is often loud. I bought these to listen to videos on my iPad and silence the outside noise. They work perfectly in that regard. The built in controls work perfectly with my iPhone and iPad. The only slight negative on these headphones, and its something I find happens with pretty much all closed in headphones (i.e., not earbuds), is that my ears get hot rather quickly.
These are pricey but worth it if you want the absolute best in noise canceling performance. Sound quality for listening to music is great too. Before I got the Bose, I had bought a cheap pair of knockoffs and the "noise cancelling" ability was pretty much nil in those.

There is honestly so much that can be said about Bose and the quality of their products, they have honestly always been at the top of the game. Nevertheless, they have always been worth much more than the actual value from other brands like Sony and Phillips. But nevertheless, they do just as strong of a job at getting the sound well when it comes firmly down to the quality of their electronics. This set of headphones is absolutely no exception. This set of noise cancelling headphones, which operates nicely via bluetooth with smartphones, and Apple Iphones. But honestly, you do get a sound which you do get sound that sincerely rivals what other brands like Beats by Dr. Dre sound like overall. What I do not like though about these headphones though is that they do not work the classic Ipods from Apple, and overall could've also been wired as well. Nevertheless, if you love Bose electronics, than you'll absolutely love these headphones.

Everything that makes a set of headphones an excellent purchase can be found in the Bose QC25s.
Vocals sound authentic, acoustic instruments are very well reproduced, bass is full and deep, mids are articulate, and the separation of the instruments is some of the best ive ever heard.
Its almost a 3D experience when listening to music made with guitars and vocals.
These Bose QC25 sound smooth, full, and authentic and terrific no matter the genre of music you listen to through them.
Im not a Bose "type" buyer, and i only bought these for using on Jets , and lo and behold they are exceptional sounding headphones as well as being extremely capable of dealing with outside noise.
I was not expecting to be so impressed, and had thought i was being price gouged to get a set of headphones that would help me with Jet engine noise reduction, so, when i actually listened to their exceptional sound, i was/am very impressed.
Sound Flaws: very slightly extended low mids.

The noise isolation is something out of this world. On par after reading all the reviews, and met my expectations. The sound itself nearly as bad as anyone would say it was on head-fi, I think they're just a bunch of audiophiles. When you turn the canceling feature off, the sound gets bad. I wouldn't know what a "high" or a "low" is, but they sound FANTASTIC to me. I've tried so many audiophile headphones and they're BETTER than some audiophile headphones I own. The noise isolation alone is already worth it.. kinda awesome sitting in a noisy place and not hearing the car move while it's driving when I'm on a trip with family.
It doesn't necessarily CANCEL noise, it just turns down the volume in life by about 60-80 percent. Any fans, computers, cars, airplanes, trains... motor noises... it all cancels out by about 80 percent. Which can be a bad thing if you're walking on the street with these. I always like to keep a fresh energizer battery in it. When the light starts blinking, I change the battery out because the noise cancel feature suffers when it gets to that point. They truly are phenomenal.. I cannot recommend these enough. They're also some of the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned.
Edit: They broke within a week, popping sound in right headphone. The wire is broken and cutting out. Im very unsatisfied with the quality of the construction on these.

I have now gone through two pairs of the QC-25's in under a year. Originally the right speaker went out after about 4 months (Bose did replace no questions asked). Now my second pair the right speaker went out after about 6 months. I am a relatively heavy user with a lot of international travel but I don't listen to music at full volume or mess with equalizer settings. My expectation is for the headphones to last longer than a few months for the price point. Because I've had the same problem two times in a row my assumption is there is a design issue and this isn't a one-off problem.

Purchased and used on a 22 hour international trip. But I returned - why? The sound wasn't as stellar as my previous Zik Parrots. I'm holding out for the final noise canceling headphones until I hear a few more.

i was some what sceptical about these ear phones especially with the high price tag but I can honestly say they are worth the money. I bought them in the U.S. So the worked out around £185 which still isn't cheap.
The notice cancellation is much better than sennhieser cans I had previously and the sound is really good. I mainly use them via my iPhone or iPod so it's MP3 quality music so I can't comment on using them through a hi if system. I must say the quality of the product seems to be really good and at this time I have no problems with them but I only purchased them in June 2015.
If you want good sound and head phones that cancel out ambient noise then these do the job.

These are simply the best. I have tried others, but Bose knows how to make a Noise Cancelling headphone. A flight savior when you have that annoying 4 year old sitting behind you and a mother who could take some parenting classes.

Don't buy anything but Bose. I waited too many years to get a pair of these. I love walking around NYC or commuting with these because the noise cancelling is incredible. It really blocks out EVERYTHING. I have no tried other high-end headphones, but Bose is a brand I trust and the warranty is also very good.

Bought these for my son for Christmas. He loves the fact that they fit over his ears and not on them. Great sound. He did, however, have an instance where one side stopped working, but he figured out it was some setting on his Mac.

Best thing you can do to for long flights (any flight) or noisy offices. I sat right over the wing (engine maximum engine noise) slipped those headphones on and it was remarkably quiet. I had not realized how much the noise on a plane bothered me. They are very comfortable. Comes with a really nice case, headphones fold up small, case has a place to store a spare AAA battery as well. What else can I say. I love mine.

I am a frequent flyer (6k-10k miles per month) and I formerly used Audio-Technica M50s. I realized that I was blasting the M50s at full volume to hear over the sound of flying and I know that can't be good for my ears. Furthermore, I started using a headphone amplifier to boost the lows which made them even louder.
The noise cancelling is amazing. With the QC-25 headphones, I now find myself listening to my music/books/movies at a level that seems reasonable so that I hear every detail. The funny thing is when I take these off and realize how much louder the drone of the engines are than my music was. I end up unplugging the cord from them and wearing them to the airplane bathroom (13 hour flights) because they are so nice and quiet. I live in a quiet house, but these make me realize how not-quiet it is; if I take these off my house sounds like holding a sea-shell to your ear.
The sound is great and they cover all ranges well. I haven't found advantage in using a headphone amplifier to boost the lows. In fact, I almost think that these have abnormal amounts of bass, but that is just personal taste.
A word of advice: buy the Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA batteries. They are pricey, but they are lighter and they last much longer so they end up being cheaper. I have at least 50+ hours on my first one.

Had to get these after a long research on all similar units.
What made my mind was the comfort and light weight of the unit first, secondly the sound and noise reduction feature being the best in the market.
And the most important was the look, I had a choice other than black, black over black, or silver over black.
A lot of manufactures have forgotten we all have different taste in color attractions.
Highly recommended.

So far, I'm very impressed with the quality of the sound and the construction of these headphones. I read other reviews of others having problems with build quality and functionality, but I haven't experienced that. These are relatively pricey headphones, but the noise cancelling quality is the best I've experienced. Other pros:
- Sound quality is very good, after initial burn-in
- Very comfortable even after long listening sessions
- These come with a really nice carrying case and an airplane converter plug
I would recommend these to anyone wanting a solid set of 'phones for travel or everyday use.

Excellent headphones. Great sound and the noise cancelling feature is a godsend! We use them on airplane trips and my young son, who has sensitive ears, also uses them when we go to the movie theatre. They cancel out 'loudness' but not every sound altogether. Which is perfect for using at the movies or near people who may want to converse with you while you have them on. They are also light and very comfortable to wear. The battery lasts for ages. The case is sturdy and prevents the headphones from being squashed and broken (as they may otherwise be in carry-on luggage!) and there is a built in spot for an extra battery, too. I would recommend these headphones to anyone. I was SO glad they turned out to be worth the investment!

These are amazing! We bought a new house and in the basement is my mancave/study room/office. However, there are no doors to close off the basement, and I have to study a lot. We got these headphones so I could study downstairs and my wife could watch TV upstairs. They work great! I put these on and it blocks out the TV upstairs. I can still hear my wife if she calls out to me, so that's good, but I can't hear the TV she's watching. We are very happy with these.

Always great sound as expected from Bose. Not as heavy on the low end as Beats (which I find to be a good thing). Some of the best headphones on the market for noise canceling. Still continues to work if the battery dies (you just lose noise canceling).
The 2 sided double plug cord (plugs in on both sides) is nice if you hit the cable accidently your headphones dont get ripped off your head.
On a side note it works with xbox one.

I purchased the original QuietComfort headsets when it first came out and used it extensively whenever I traveled (over million miles flown with it). Well it really started to show its age and purchased this one. It works as well as my other one.
The only complaint is that I have to pull out the cable to store it, otherwise it bends and I'm afraid it's going to cause problems. So it's a case design issue, not the headset design.

I have been bouncing back and forth between Beats and Bose headphones. I must have spent half an hour going back and forth between the Bose and Beats demo display. Hands down this Bose QC25 is mind blowing... I never thought I would spend more than $60 on headphones, but the performance of the noise cancellation is... well unheard of.
If you have the money to spend to buy these headphones, and you use headphones often, I encourage you to take a listen to these!
The first thing I did when I got them out of the box was turn up my car stereo. I installed the battery, turned on the Noise cancellation, and to my amazement the music in my car dramatically dropped in volume.
Start playing music through these, and it feels like you are in a sound proof room with nothing to hear other than your music.
These are very spendy, but the durability and performance justifies the cost. The bass is noticeably less than Beats headphones, but music sounds so much better through these than Beats. I also think the frame on these are much more durable than Beats. By comparison, they are more flexible and seem least likely to crack under stress.
Now these are not the headphones you would wear doing extreme sports, but they are fantastic for airplane travel, car travel, bus travel.
If you have the money to spend to buy these headphones, and you use headphones often, I encourage you to take a listen to these!

Picked up these headphones for my flights - it worked really well... until the right headphone completely died after only 4 months. Now I need to figure out how to send them to warranty that I have to pay for, and we'll see what happens. I've never ever owned headphones that have lasted a shorter amount of time than this over priced junk.

These headphones are extremely comfortable with awesome noise cancellation ability. I find the bass response a bit weak, but who cares, peace, quite and comfort are what they are all about and in that they really deliver. Besides, my mp3 player can easily pump out additional bass frequencies should the need arise.

The music quality is amazing, especially with the noise cancellation enabled. Worked very well on recent international flights canceling most if the white noise.
I also use these at work while on conference calls, or just when I need to be able to think, in situations when environmental sounds and nearby office workers are rather loud and need to be hushed!
After about 4 months, there was an issue with the right channel. Bose support was very helpful, facilitated a warranty replacement, which process went very smoothly.

Took on flights from Manchester to Heathrow, Heathrow to Iceland, Iceland to Alaska, and they do work quite well, especially on smaller planes, I never realised how loud the hum in a plane was, but recently I think the jack? The thing you plug into the IPad/IPod might be broke as the sound keeps cutting in and out, this is why i was reluctant to spend £280 on plastic headphones. You do get a warranty which I may soon be using.

These Bose 715053-0020 QuietComfort 25 Headphones are absolutely amazing in every regard! I have many pairs of good headphones, but none that compare to the features and sound quality of these Bose headphones. Here are my observations:

Setup; Install the "AAA" Battery in the "Right" earphone and connect the audio cable between the "Left" earphone and your device. Turn on the power switch on the "Right" earphone and enjoy.
Note: The headphones will work fine with a dead battery, but you will not get the active noise cancellation
+ Physical Quality; these are very well made with high quality materials and good construction
+ Audio Quality; full and rich sound across all ranges, I have never experienced better
+ Comfort; these adjust for every head size we tried them on, from small to very large

The QC25's are certainly great Headphones. HOWEVER. I bought these for my girlfriend for her birthday. I have the QC15's and I think they're fantastic. I was kind of frustrated when the 25's came out because I bought the 15's only last spring... but as it turns out, I actually think the QC15's sound just as good if not a little better, the 15's definitely get louder than the 25's. So, if you like your music good and loud, go with the QC15's NOT the 25's. On the same device with the same song playing, only swapping out the headphones, the 15's are remarkably louder, with great sound quality. The 25's were great too, just not as loud.
Now, with all of that said, the 25's are a little sleaker, still come with a great carrying case and still fold up nice and compact for travel. There is one more major improvement in the 25's over the 15's: When the battery dies, and the power is off, you can still listen to music, just without noise cancellation. The 15's completely die when the batteries die.
My recommendation: If you're on the fence between the 15's and the 25's, buy the 15's, you'll save some cash and in my opinion, have a better set of headphones. If you're on the fence between the 25's and any other brand, buy the 25's all day.
Bose makes the best noise cancellation headphones with out question. I wore mine on a 14 hour flight to Japan followed by a 7 hour flight to Bali, and I don't know how I did it before. I now get anxious just looking at airplanes without my Bose on.

Oh my God, these are even better than the last iteration. Now you can control the volume on the cord. These are the best. I love the colors: white with turquoise interior & cord.

Amazing headphones. I'm no audiophile, but for blocking out the noise of a busy household, these are great. The noise cancelling even blocks out my dog barking. Well worth the money.

We fly a lot and I HATE it! My wife bought me a pair of these several months ago and they are worth every penny. I've tried other types and nothing compares. I returned the favor and purchased the white/tan pair for her. Now she's a believer. Comfortable, light weight, long battery life, and best of all....silence. Hook these to your iphone, hit the switch, and it's like you're setting in the recording studio with the artist. Blocks out all the screaming kids, the boisterous drunks, and your seat mates. No, just because we are sitting together for the next 4 hours and you're dying to tell some stranger about your vacation, doesn't mean I want to listen. Thanks anyways. I have too many friends as it is. I only wish Bose made smell canceling headphones as well. If you fly a lot, bite the bullet and buy these. you won't be sorry.
