The headphones worked great for 2 months, but died today. The speaker stopped in one ear mid-song. For $300 I would really expect these to last more than 60 days. Amazon return or exchange policy should be slightly better for faulty equipment.

After a long period of time where I sampled Bose, Beats by Dre, and Sennheiser headphones I honestly do not understand how people feel that either Beats or Sennheiser are superior to Bose. The Sennheiser headphones I sampled were both uncomfortable and the sound quality was even less than the ear buds that came with my latest iPhone. When it comes to Beats, I will say they are very comfortable and they may be ideal for you if you prefer bass to overpower the rest of the music (I prefer a more balanced sound) however I feel the overall sound quality is somewhat lacking across all genres of music.
When testing these babies it took me a mere few seconds after the 1st song started to realize that I had finally found the headphones for me as these headphones performed superiorly no matter what I was listening to. I honestly believe the noise canceling feature is key as it ensures all background music is eliminated for you to finally enjoy every aspect of a song just like the artist intended. Although some may prefer a more prominent bass, I actually believe these headphones are set up much like a home theater system with the bass complementing the overall sound rather than overpowering it. Throw in the fact that these headphones are now even more stylish and they are so comfortable that you forget you are even wearing them and for me the decision was easy.

Simply the very best noise cancelling headphones you can buy. Yes this comes at a cost but you get what you pay for. I currently have the previous version of this product and the in ear version - both are outstanding. The new version of the over ear version is neater and smaller than the previous version. It's case has been made smaller, all making for a neater way to pack up when travelling. The case and headphones are a quality product.
The music quality is fantastic but where these headphones excel is in a location with a low droning noise e.g. like on a plane, train or noisy room. You can still hear people talk but the low noise is taken away instantly when switching the noise cancelling on. When I bought my first pair it took along time to make the decision as I couldn't test how effective they would be on a plane. Using them in a noisy shop atmosphere cut some of the noise out but it was hard to judge how the noise cancelling would work on a plane - until you actually go on a plane.
Wow! On a plane it is amazing how much noise they cut out, how much more relaxed you feel and how much more you can hear the sounds from your in plane entertainment or electronic device. Taking them off during a flight illustrates how noisy the plane is as it is extremely noticeable how noisy the plane actually is. You feel more rested because you have not had to listen to the constant drone of the plane engines.
I cannot recommend these headphones highly enough. Do not doubt how effective they are, this is why their is premium charge for the product.

I would give these 6 stars if I could. The sound is crisp, the noise-cancelling is fantastic. I saved credit card points for 10 years to buy these, and I would do it again.

Used these for travel and they shut out the noise but I was able to hear the person sitting next to me. Worth the money and it will be something I have for along time.

Wonderful noise cancelling. really amazing. sound quality is good, but it is the noise cancelling you are buying this for and you will not be disappointed. Very very comfortable to wear.
Why 4 stars?
1. the case does not have an interior compartment for the cord. What is that about? you just coil it up and throw in on top, so that when you unsip it on the plane it can fall out. An uncharacteristically inelegant solution.
2. At the time of this posting Amazon only sells the iphone compatible version. The description could have been a little more clear that there would be incompatibility with android. $300 bucks and the phone mic does not work. you can get an android cord from Bose for $30. The android version is the same price from Bose with free shipping. So better to buy it there if you are using android.

These are bar none the most satisfying electronic purchase i have made in.. well maybe ever. The sound is good, the comfort is great, but the sound cancellation, the glorious wonderful amazing sound cancellation is life saving. The first time using this product was for a 14 hour flight to Hong Kong, and I was the lucky winner of the seat next to a screaming toddler. This situation would likely caused an emotional injury i would never recover from. I placed these ear angels on my head, flipped the switch, and went from a living hell to a cave of solitude, a happy happy place free of screech spewing child demons. While the youths nail curling whales where still slightly audible, they were at least tolerable, and the plane noise completely gone. I have not been this happy with a purchase in a long time, bless you BOSE; bless you!

These are the best headphones I've ever owned. I was using them to study and they cancelled all of the sound around me....until I heard a vacuum sound? It was faint enough for me to not have to investigate it since I live in the dorms where possibly the room next to me could be vacuuming. However, I was bored of studying and decided to check it out. I took off my headphones and realized what I barely heard was actually the fire alarm and people running and screaming down the stairs. These headphones were so good at noise canceling that I almost died because of them.

Poor quality headphones- the price really did not reflect the quality at all in this case! Perhaps I was expecting too much. The only wow factor with this product was that the headphones were great for noice cancelling- that is all! So this really is only good if you are wanting to listen to music somewhere where you know you will be in a noisy environment but just want to hear your music only. The only place I can ever think these would come in use is on an aeroplane. That is all! Apart from that the resulting sound output really isn't that great at all and was really disappointed!

I bought these headphones for work and because I have tinnitus (ringing in my ears). I wanted good noise cancellation, because that lets me listen to music at a lower volume, which reduces the risk of hearing damage.
The noise cancellation on these headphones is amazing, better than anything I've ever experienced. Put them on and turn noise cancellation on, and it's like being in space. You can almost feel the vacuum. It's kind of eery, actually.
They're also the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned. I could wear them for hours and hardly feel them.
I'm not the biggest audiophile in the world, so I'm not really well qualified to speak to audio quality. I'll just say that the audio quality is more than good enough for my needs.

It arrived all perfect, all the way from Hong Kong. Folds up conveniently, into a case small enough to go into a purse. It works beautifully also.
The only downer for me is that the ear pieces are a bit larger than the Quiet Comfort II which were the perfect size. All in all they work fine.

I'm flying a lot right now and didn't really want to spend $300 on headphones. Got a (very) well known brand for $200 (normally $300) and put them through 5.5 hours of flying the next day. Two days later they went back and I just spent the $300. No one is touching Bose at this price point for noise cancelling and comfort.
If your story is similar to mine, take this as your warning...just spend the $300. These are the headphones you want.

Bought these as a present for my boyfriend. He loves them! Wears them to the gym and on airplanes. I'm even thinking about a pair for myself as they really do cancel out all of the unwanted noise and are really comfy!

The first time I used the headphones was on a business trip to Europe, at the beginning I was amazed by the quality of sound and the noise-cancellation. After only 10 minutes of using the product I started to notice that the from time to time I lose the sound, completely, for a second and then it comes back again. The headphones comes with '56 in QC25 inline remote and microphone cable' which you need to plug into the headphones. Apparently something is wrong inside the headphones and every movement causes the lost of sound. During the entire flight I was forcing myself to stay in specific angels which didn't caused the lost of sound.
I wouldn't expect such an unprofessional assemble and lack of quality assurance from Bose and specifically from an headphones which cost 300$, I am very disappointed!

I have to go to the VA on a regular basis and of course, there is always a long wait in a large, noisy crowded room. I can block out the world and listen to my book or watch my movies in peace.
In my older age, excessive noise is distressing to me and these provide me a lot of comfort.

Like many other people, the left side of the headphones quit working after a bit more than a year of use. Poor reliability due to cheap build quality. Not acceptable for an expensive product like this.

The headphones are excellent when they work, but they have a fairly serious design flaw that many people are hitting. A wire inside the speaker cone itself becomes loose after a few months, causing one of the ears to fail. Mine failed after just 4 months, and it takes 3 weeks to get a replacement sent out.

Since being a Beats by Dr Dre user for two years, I thought I'd go for a change since my beats were making a funny noise, so I went to my local Bose outlet shop and trying them on, I was astonished! They were soooo much better than beats. They can manage with background noise soooo much better and the sound quality is also great. Even in the middle of London outside McDonald's when you can't even talk to your mates, with these on its like your sitting in your room listening to your music, these are great. Would definitely recommend these to beats. But just don't leave em on over nights because mine broke but they replaced them straight away.

The ULTIMATE tool in musical escapism! If you enjoy absolute absorption in music there is no substitute. This is, no doubt an expensive product when compared to other sets of headphones but difference in quality is on a different scale! Theses are not a set of headphones that will disappoint.
