If you ever wondered or were interested, but just couldn't pull the trigger. Don't wonder anymore, these headphones have changed my travel experience substantially. I cannot believe how noisy an airplane or airport can be until I remove the headphones and hear the difference. Don't hesitate they are worth the investment. I'm sorry I waited so long. The 25 do offer some nice upgrades to the 15's. Inline volume and selection control is a nice to have. The storage case is small and solid and the sound is clear.

Noise reduction is excellent and the headphones are very comfortable, HOWEVER, in less than 3 months the left head phone completely gave out! out of no where it just stopped working. Luckily I had purchased the item directly from Bose and they have a one year warranty so they gave me a new pair and I appreciate their customer service. But it is shocking that a $300 pair of headphones would have such a manufacturing issue. I recommend buying these headphones directly from Bose in case you have the same issue.

Had been holding out for many years because the price was a barrier. But after I borrowed a pair for a plane ride, I was hooked and bought my own. Everything people say is true and well worth it especially if you fly- even if just occasionally. Previously I would feel extremely fatigued after a flight but after using these headphones, I actually felt refreshed. I'm eager to use these on a long international flight.
The noise cancellation is excellent and the sound is very good. You feel as if you are in a quiet room and all you hear is what is playing through the headphones. Highly recommended!

Noise reduction is probably the best, but I would not the say the same for the sound quality. It is light and comfortable to wear during long flights. It would give it another star if it has Bluetooth feature.

Excellent earphones that really do cut out external noise. Wore them on two 23 hour flights to Australia and back and they were very comfortable, produced good sound quality and completely cut out the noise of the aircraft engines. Well worth the money!

I am a business traveler and spend most of my life on planes and in hotels. I am also somewhat of an audiophile (I rip all my music from CD to Apple Lossless). The noise cancellation on a plane is phenomenal as well as in noisy areas like airports.
And possibly even more important is the comfort. They are very light, fit my ears perfectly and don't make me sweat. I wear glasses and they are very comfortable with glasses.
I came from a $400 set of Beats headphones (won them for free at a company Xmas party). The Beats were heavy, had poor noise cancellation, poor sound, were very uncomfortable with glasses and made me sweat.
What I also love is that compared to the Beats, these QC 25s are compact and they lie flat in the case. The case is great because it carries an extra battery as well as an adaptor for older planes that have dual prongs. The case is also very slim and is super easy to travel with.
They also work even if the batteries die, but the batteries last a long time and the battery compartment is pretty easy to use.
If you travel a lot, or just want great noise cancellation and great audio quality, these are the headphones for you.

These headphones are great. They're my first over ear headphones and they're nothing but wonderful. The sound is great and the noise cancellation is nice. The noise cancellation works best for deeper background noises like an air conditioner or on a plane.

If you are looking for comfortable over ear headphones then these are the best you can buy, in my opinion! The padding around the ear is very soft and comfortable. Ease of use is simple and quick. Storage case is superb with little places for storing a spare battery and adaptors, a real pleasure when travelling around. My only gripe is that its been very well developed for apple devices, perhaps too well! My Samsung S3 does not work with the "built-in volume" thingy attached to the cable, however, shuffle and pause does work. Other Android users have mentioned this BUT its a small price to pay for quality noise cancellation.
I have a set of Shure 215 in-earphones which do exceed Bose in pure music quality but they cannot rival Bose for total "all day" comfort and noise cancellation during flights for example. In summary, I am pleased to have them now as I've sat on airplanes noticing people around me looking so relaxed wearing Bose headphones!

Hands down the best noise cancelling headphones I've used. When you put them on, it also eliminates resonance noise from your body. The Active EQ function enhances the clarity of the music and the noise cancelling feature silences the environment hence what you hear is crystal clear music. Heck I even use it at home in a "quite" environment because you will notice how "noisy" the so called quite environment is when you turn off the NC feature. I'm pretty fussy when dropping good money on headphones and I can say this is the best value headphones I've bought.

Simply amazing! My wife was a little apprehensive about the price on these. That all changed when she took them on a business trip. I got text after text saying how glad she was that we got them. They literally turn off the ambient sound around you. I used them while mowing the lawn and it was like I was watching a lawn mowing POV movie with my music playing. I couldn't hear the mower, at least not anything above a low hum in the distance. I love these!!!!

I never write reviews but I have to share my experience with this product so far
It only took 4.5 months for these to break on me, the right speaker went out suddenly.
I always placed the headphones in their case for protection because I depend on them for studying in medical school.
I've tried multiple computers/phones, replacing the battery, changing the equalizer and more...
Only the left side clicks on when turning on the noise canceling feature.
Sorry to be a downer but I will update this review once I get the proper response from bose.

At first I was a bit regretting having spent $300 for a piece of a wired headphones. I tried it on my long haul flight back home, and found out myself in total serenity. The noise cancelling feature works its best against jet engine noise. It is truly money well spent.

these are awesome!!! they even work on snorers! i'm in the army and i some sleep in open bays with about 50 or so people. there are usually some pretty bad snorers and this blocks them out! with the unit on all night long the battery typically begins to fade at about day 4 or so; 32 hours of use on a single AAA battery is pretty good if you ask me.

I just returned from a trip to Aruba from the eastern United States and I used these new headphones for the first time in a noise-filled environment (on the airplane). I put them on and noticed a reduction in the outside noise but then I hit the active noise cancelling switch and I was absolutely amazed! No airplane engine noise and no crying children! Very impressive! They performed so much better than I expected and they were quite comfortable for the 3.5 hour trip. I own other Bose products and have always been impressed with their quality and performance. I would highly recommend these headphones especially for travelers.

Fantastic headphones- for someone who travels by plane a lot, these help immensely for drowning out the roar of the engine (which I didn't realize was so loud until putting these on and hitting the noise canceling function). They are comfortable and cup my ears well, without putting too much pressure on my head. The carrying case is useful, although large. If you are looking for something more compact, this probably isn't the product for you. I tend to not like things sitting in my ears. I'm also not an audiophile, so as far as sound quality, I'd say it's great, but I'm not picky. Even though these cost a pretty penny, I would recommend and buy them again. It's worth saving my ear drums!

Holy cow, these are good. Lightweight on the head, soft and cozy on the ears, I can wear these for hours at a time. The noise-cancellation feature is superb, whether I'm listening to music or not. You can listen to music with noise-cancellation off but the quality is much better with the feature on. They're pretty pricey but they're well worth it. I'm very impressed.

Best headphone I ever head. Use it mostly for airplane and listening music, sometimes I forget how noisy the ambient can be.
Edit: So just over 1 year, the right headphone stopped working. If I put pressure on it sometimes it works. By quick googling I saw lots of people have the same problem.
I'm very disappointed especially since I was always careful on using them - given how much they cost.

AMAZING! This is my 4th Bose QuietComfort headphone. I previously owned the QuietComfort 15 model. As a father to two very active and loud kids, and also a student, I need these, and they have been a savior throughout college and graduate school! I am now studying for a HUGE licensing test for my profession that requires EXTREME focus and concentration, and these headphones allow me to go ANYWHERE while studying. I usually go to my local coffee shop, which gets pretty loud (about 20+ people when it gets busy + music in the background). But with these + YouTube sound effects (white noise, sound of waves, sound of nature, etc.), I cannot hear ANYTHING. Please note, that is if you put some music or sound effects in the background, it will silence out all noise. However, using the noise canceling alone will not be enough.
One upgrade I hope gets integrated into the next model is wireless Bluetooth—PLEASE!

Generally, I love the product. I use at work when I have to focus on something and need to eliminate background distractions in the office. Definitely when noise-cancelling is turned off, you can still hear everything going on around you. When noise-cancelling is turned on, background noise fades away nicely, but it does introduce a slight hiss into the music sound quality. I'm not an audiophile nut, so not a big deal to me, but could be for some.

As the price indicates, these headphones are definitely a premium product. When i turn them on during my time on a plane, I barely hear the engine, but amazingly, I can still have a conversation with the person next to me. However, I have one major gripe - the headphone wire frays easily, just like your $10 pair of headphones. I'm writing this review about 5 months after purchase, but about 2 months ago, I notice that i had to keep playing with the cord to get it in a certain position when music would cut in and out. They really need to improve on this. A $300 outlay means everything should be top notch.

Comfort while worn is excellent. Very light weight, very crisp sound when noise canceling is on. Noise cancellation is outstanding! The headphone sound quality is not that great when noise canceling is OFF but that's not why you buy this headphone anyway. Very happy with the product I highly recommend it to friends and family who are looking for NOISE CANCELLING headphones.

These headphones are GREAT! Someone else in my office purchased these and I was amazed at the noise cancelling capabilities. In fact, that is the primary reason I purchased these.
I work in a small "bullpin" style office, and the voices in conversations carries and can be extremely distracting. Before I had these I used headphones and had to turn the music up so that it would "cancel" out the noise, but that was distracting, so I invested in this pair of head phones.
The sound is good, I haven't ever spent nearly this much on headphones, so I can't speak to the quality of the sound, although I am into SQ and these meet my needs.
I can turn on noise cancelling, and play music at a low volume and really get my work done.. without being bothered by the distractions of the other conversations occurring in the office..

Everything great you have heard about these headphones is true.
I am not a heavy audiophile, but wearing these while mowing the lawn, the music was in my head. They reintroduced me to the joys of my music library. I use them with Samsung Galaxy, so phone finctions are not all there, but that is not important to me. I believe I could buy appropriate microphone cable as it appears Amazon only sell iPhone version.

Positive: it does indeed block/muffle 90% of ambient sound, as I wished (shut out TV noise satisfactorily at my fitness center). Negative: I have had to return the first headphone for replacement, after 5 months unbearable whistling sound developed. Happily,the manufacturer promptly sent me a replacement, and 4 months later the replacement headphones still work fine.

Overall disappointed with all the manufacturing defects..... The headphones were good for noise cancellation (albeit somewhat uncomfortable) but when I tried to use these as music headphones literally 10 minutes into it the right headphone went out.... I read the reviews and how many people said this happened to them and I wondered what my chances were and obviously the same! Bose should really fix their defects before they put the products out for sale (especially at $300+) I had hoped they were of good quality but obviously not.

Very pricey, but excellent quality. I purchased these because I needed comfortable sound-cancelling headphones I could wear for long periods of time. My partner practices trumpet for many hours in our small duplex and I can't hear it at all with the sound-cancelling on. The bass is strong and the treble is clear, my FLAC music sounds absolutely amazing through these. Definitely worth the price tag for the best on the market. Love these.

She flies a lot and like me, loves to use these on airplanes to get rid of noise.
I was not crazy about the new "foldy-uppy" way they store in the package but she has not complained.
When plugged into her Blackberry she says this is the best phone she's ever talked on. We've also used them on my iphone 5S and 6+, they work fantastic.
They're not cheap but they last a long time, sound great and do an excellent job geting rid of noise.
I'd buy these again in an instant if mine were stolen.

The noise reduction and the sound quality.together make a big difference. As I listen to these headphones now in a Starbucks in find myself enjoying a story from selective shorts and various pieces of popular and classical music. I never need headphones at home per my hi end sound system. At home I do not have all the noises of the road.
I am sure other headphones I have from Sennheiser have a better sound in a quiet place. It is just that that place is not available outside of the home, work or a Hotel room. These headphones are nearly as good and the noise reduction allows me the means to enjoy the music when the rest of of the world chimes in too much around me.
Issues to consider, not much heat buildup. They are compact enough to sow in a backpack but not a suite. They perform best and as intended with noise reduction on. With flawed records of out music, you will notice the weaknesses on the recorded music more. I would not walk on the streets wearing such effective noise reduction technology; use in a coffee shop on a train or at work and such.

I finally decided to see what the hype is about with the Bose QC line, and these have been outstanding, especially for my number one issue - time to annoyance. I'm able to wear these for 3-4 hours before having to take them off for a break, during US Coast-Coast flights and flights to Europe, and even while wearing my eyeglasses and one of those neck ring pillows.
Of course, the audio quality and noise reduction are important, and Bose definitely delivers well enough to keep a five star rating - but of course these mean nothing if you cannot wear them comfortably for extended periods of time.

I tried the Harman/Kardon NC first, and returned then because the Noise Cancellation was not cancelling much ...
First day at work with the QC25: I never realized the ventilation was so noisy! I even spent some time with no music, listening to the silence (or to John Cage's 4:33 piece? can't remember :-). Conversations in the nearby cubes are muted, but I still need some music to cover them completely. I can listen at a much lower level though, this is much better for my ears and less distracting for work. The NC switch is easy to access on the right ear even with the headphones on.
I like the way the headphones fold in the travel case, the space for one spare AAA battery and the cord with microphone and volume control. Music (with NC on) sounds as good as my Sennheiser HD 335S as far as I can tell; with NC off, not that great, but better than nothing.
First day at work with the QC25: I never realized the ventilation was so noisy! I even spent some time with no music, listening to the silence (or to John Cage's 4:33 piece? can't remember :-). Conversations in the nearby cubes are muted, but I still need some music to cover them completely. I can listen at a much lower level though, this is much better for my ears and less distracting for work. The NC switch is easy to access on the right ear even with the headphones on.

Великолепно
I love these headphones. They are large enough to fit over my ample ears. The noise cancellation is incredible. With music playing and the noise cancellation on, I can't hear the grand piano in the other room (10 ft away). I can wear the headphones for many hours without discomfort. And the battery life is definitely acceptable (I haven't measured it).

It was a present for my boyfriend and he is satisfied. Can't hear me talking to him while he is playing, so the noise canceling works!
