I have had this headphone for two weeks and I can't find any fault with it so far.
You will learn to appreciate how good the noise cancellation on this thing is. Granted, it won't block loud dialogues spoken near you, but when you are on a plane or a train or in a crowd with background noise, put this headphones on and you will be able to enjoy your music in a silent bliss.
It is very comfortable even for listening up to 6 hours straight. The battery life is not that bad, and you can generally enjoy up to three days of normal listening. The concept behind using one AAA battery is that you can easily buy a replacement battery at a convenience store if you ever run out of battery during travel. For home users, I recommend rechargeable Panasonic eneloop batteries.
If I am forced to report one thing I don't like about this headphone, it is the non-glossy plastic feel and the mesh texture at the top of the head band. It kind of gives a cheap feeling, but I think it is used to make the headphones light and comfortable on your head.

I purchased this in particular for airline flights and found myself very pleased with it's ability to minimize the noise.

The reason for 3 stars is for the followings:
1- I have a qc15 and they do not offer you practically nothing different
2- They come with a really short cord, so you may have to get an adapter cord extra (qc15 they came with two cords)
3-Over price
What I love:
1- They seems very well made
2- The color and the look
3-Sound quality (I am not an expert)

Music quality is amazing. I was a little disappointed in the noise cancelling quality without music playing, decreases noise about 50 percent. They are very comfortable. I am anxious to try them out on a future airline flight.

I was hesitant to spend so much on headphones, especially since I was hoping for wireless. I didn't really think I would use the noise cancelling except for travelling/planes - I was wrong. I use these headphones, and the noise cancelling option ALL the time. They are super comfortable for extended periods of time, and the noise cancelling is really amazing. I work in a busy office - loud air conditioning, people on phones, etc. and these have been a life saver. Decent sound when just listening to music, and super light. The carrying case is really convenient as well! I wish there was a wireless & noise cancelling option from Bose, but I am so glad I have these.

I read the 11 one-star reviews before reading the 264 five-star reviews prior to ordering the QC25 headphones. It seemed apparent to me that some of those 11 one-star reviewers, who purchased the QC25 headphones or similar, had either false expectations of "noise cancelling" capabilities or fell prey to the inevitable lemon that awaits that unfortunate buyer. I have several other Bose products, including a pair of A20 (aviation/pilot version with noise cancelling) headset and have yet to be disappointed or receive a bad product from Bose.
Noise cancellation is not a magical process, where all noise is cancelled out. The electronic process of noise cancellation is limited to the band/frequency of noise that particular device is designed to cancel. I have found the QC25's I have in hand perform as advertised. The headphones do filter out a lot of background noise, especially at the lower frequencies such as aircraft cabin noise, automotive exhaust, and similar. Higher frequency noise such as voice, fireworks, doors slamming closed, and similar are muffled- not cancelled. There is a distinguishable difference in noise level with and without the noise cancellation active, while the headphones are properly worn. Another one of the 11 one-star reviews made mention of the detachable cord/cable as being cheaply made. I do not see the cord/cable as a problem, unless one is using it to hang upside-down suspended only by the cord/cable. Comfort and fit, and performance of the QC25 is great in my experience.

Long time owner of noise reduction headsets and owner of QuiteComfort 15 which lasted years until it got stepped. The QuietComfort 25 cost me $300 and lasted for around 5 flights before the right channel (the side that bends sharply to fold up in the small case) started having connection problems and can only work if I manually bend the arm a certain way while trying to listen...which is not an option if you want to relax on a flight.
The 30 day window for returns is a joke if you only take flights once every few months. If it doesn't fail on your very first flight then you're going to be out of luck on at some point.
If you have already bought one of these...I would seriously consider storing them in a bigger case where you don't fold the right earphone so sharply.
I was very gentle with the way I folded it up each time and alas it did not matter. They tried to get innovative with making it fold up smaller but did not stress test this .
Though great sound quality I have little desire to purchase from Bose again after this.

Comfortable, and excellent noise cancelling effect. Very pleased, would thoroughly recommend.
Would not usually have spent this on headphones, but having tried other high flyers this pair stood heads and shoulders above the rest.

Got these as an early Christmas present. Took them on a business trip with me and put them on before the plane was started and fully loaded. I took them off during the decent and couldn't believe how loud it was. I was very happy I had these. They met my expectation and am looking forward to using them again on my next trip.

The level of background white noise is very low. Very comfortable over ears and good for long walks on cold days. Sound quality is good. Good quality construction. I use rechargeable batteries and get at least 18 hours on low-med sound level listening. Worth the cost to me.

The headphone jack does not fit precisely in the headphone causing one or both sides to go silent. This happens very frequently and ruins the listening experience consistently. When the cable is properly seated, the sound and comfort are excellent but this condition does not last for more than a few minutes.

Sometimes the old axiom is true that the best simply costs more. If these Bose QC 25's are not the absolute gold-standard of active noise-cancelling over-the-ear headphones I do not know what brand is. Not cheap but these Bose are simply awesome and worth the additional money.

Very happy. Used on 1st flight just last week and made a big difference to the experience. Not sure the cost is warranted if the noise cancelling is not utilised under circumstances such as flying.

Don't buy from Amazon, buy from Bose.com - you get 30 days to try it and returns are free. Amazon charges something like a 10% restocking fee if you want to return these. If you're shelling out $300 for a pair of headphones you'll want to be sure you like it. I ended up returning these for the QC-20s because they were too bulky for travelling and fit a little tight around my head.

I had used a noise cancellation headset set before on an airline once or twice, so I kind of knew what to expect. However, I hadn't used one long term. I'm very pleased with it and use it continuously at work.
My only neutral comment is that I got this model because I didn't see one that allowed for external power.
My only negative comment is that, for $295, I would've thought another battery could've been accommodated to give better run time. Being a heavy user in a noisy environment, I have to open up the battery compartment twice a week. I use rechargeable batteries.
