I bought these cans to be my go to travel companion but they have suddenly become my everyday computer buddies. I just subscribed to Tidal, the hi res streaming site (a MUST have) and my everyday PSB M4u1's just didn't cut it for me. They are a very mild mannered polite sounding headphone (very classy and a critic's darling) but to my surprise the Bose 25's beat them to the finish line. I'm a bit of an audiophile and know the difference after years and years of critical listening. Right now Steely Dan is pumping into my head as I write this and the bass and overall detail is just pristine! Sure they are overpriced: everything Bose makes is overpriced. But you can also pay it off in monthly installments on their site with 0 interest. So friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears: cover them up with the 25s!

Right ear stopped working after 32 days of usage. I did not expect this from 300 $ headphones.
Good thing that these are sold directly by Amazon, so I was able to exchange them for the new once in one of the Bose Factory Stores.

Extra comfortable design; improved sound; highly effective noise-canceling circuitry; device folds for compact storage in included carrying case that is included. I won't travel without them. Airplanes are load and give me the worse headache with these babies on I don't even know that I am flying. Bose offers the best sound and silencing capabilities in a pair of noise-canceling headphones.

I have owned ever model of Bose Quite Comfort headphones. These are the best. I really like that the case is smaller but still has space for an extra battery and the airplane converter. Gets rid of the airplane noise, but you can still hear some talking in the background. Burn in the earpieces and the quality of the sound definitely improves.

Worth every penny. In terms of comfort and sound quality these headphones are an entire head and shoulders above the rest. Always keep a spare battery with you as you never know when the current battery will run out. As a frequent traveller these are indispensable with a good tablet to replace the compulsory airplane movies.

My husband gave these to me for Christmas. He has them and loves them. I will say that they provide awesome sound quality and the noise cancelling function makes it an even better experience. However, after wearing these for two days, 4+ hours each day...I have a mild case of vertigo. Wearing these would be the only thing that would cause this. I am nauseous and my balance is all messed up. I read that noise cancelling headphones affect people differently and it seems I am one of those people that can't handle it. I don't think I will wear them again because I feel so crumby. Bummer, because they are very nice.

I work in an office with an open architecture. I was being distracted by all the conversations around me. No longer! The people in the pod I work in have to actually have to get my attention before I notice them talking. Definitely a winner.

I work in an open office environment and bought these hoping they would block out noise while I'm on conference calls. They do a mediocre job of blocking out noise, but they're useless for calls. People complain that I sound muffled, and I can't hear others very well. The headset that came with my iPhone is significantly better, which is disappointing for many reasons but especially since these were pricey. I feel like they were a complete waste of money.

with out question, THE best investment any frequent or less than frequent flier can make. I was very skeptical before the purchase, wincing as I made it, and wholly prepared to return them with an indignant critique already queued up. but after a round trip flight from LAX to Bangkok, i'm a believer!!

These have helped my studying immensely. I am a lot more focused when I can block out external audio stimuli. They work marvelously, although they do have trouble with high-pitched noise (but that's every noise-canceling headphone, the technology can't counteract that yet).

Works even better than the original I've had for six years, but the product design quality is severely lacking in strength! I've repaired mine three times, and these are just as flimsy. BOSE! ARE YOU LISTENING? You hurt your brand by building these like crap. They BREAK! If you are willing to Baby them, they will last, but in a crowded airliner, that's not easy, and these really should be very durable for over $300! So, I will be getting another pair for myself one day, when my old original pair finally is no longer repairable. Judge for yourself. Bon voyage!

Bought for husband for Christmas for the lab at work as it gets really noisy and he loves them .. expensive for what they are but it's Bose and that goes with the territory! Haven't heard one complaint from him and in fact one of his collegues liked them so much he's getting them for himself so they must be pretty good!

I was getting increasing worsening of my drug (ciproxin) induced tinnitus (high-pitched white noise in the head) after car journeys. My wife and I share the driving, so when she's driving I use the Bose Quiet comfort 25s with quite miraculous effects on both engine and road noise, so much so that the tinnitus noise is louder than the residual travel noise. An added and unexpected bonus is that conversation is easier...I can hear what my wife says, without her having to shout, much more easily with the Bose headphones on than without them.

I love my new Bose QC25 headphones. I am a student with a very busy schedule, and I need my world to be silent whilst I am doing homework. Unfortunately, I live in a not-so-quiet house. I had been trying to use my regular earbuds with only passive noise canceling, and they weren't working so well. I had been considering the Bose QC15 headphones for a while, but I really didn't like how they looked. When I saw that the new redesigned QC25's were released, I bought them, and they are worth the price. The noise canceling feature does an astonishingly good job at blocking out background noise, and they allow me to study in almost complete silence. I couldn't ask for a better pair of headphones. Another thing I love is the fact that you can listen to music even after the battery dies. They have great sound quality, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Great set of headphones. As other reviews will evidence, these are a solid pair of noise cancelling headphones. I had high expectations for these headphones and all were met except for the noise cancellation. Without music, you can hear quite a bit of background noise. No headphones are 100% noise cancelling, but I expected a bit more with the upgraded QC25. These are very comfortable over the ear headphones with fantastic sound quality and great noise cancelling (once music is on).

I've wanted a pair of these for these for awhile, but they are so darn ugly. I got the white ones and I am delighted! I know sound quality is key, but these are also CUTE! There is a touch of aqua color on the ear piece and the cord is aqua. My friend has the Quiet comfort 15 version, and we compared the sound quality -- it is the same. They are also the same size, but these are more attractive. The main difference appears to be that with the new 25 version you can listen to music even if the noise cancelling is turned off. So, these allow you to save battery power.

This is freaking amazing headphones!!! Was not sure I had to put 300 into that, but tried and Man it was best money ever I dropped on the pair of cans. Flew to Hong Kong from Miami and back and I can tell you I am noise sensitive and I only could hear little wind and not much else. Comfy like hell. Those were on my head for 24 hours strait and I got not pressure points or any uncomfortable issues with them. Bettery life is as promised. As to the sound quality, I do not care I am not the guy that would hear something that makes them wors then any others.
If you are looking for noise cancellation do not look any further QC 25 is the one for you. Going back to Hong Kong next month and fist time I am looking forward for that trip.

I have used a number of Bose headphones through the years because I like how they sound. Now half of my collection have broken cables and the other half I have to be very careful with them. Two of the headphones actually had their replacement cables broken again. Look at the Bose spare parts offered on Ebay and you can well see the flimsy cables is the number one problem of these otherwise wonderful headphones. Why Bose won't switch to thicker, tougher and better-looking cables as used by Beats is a complete mystery to me. May be they make good money replacing cables. I have not used this new headphone, but it apparently is keeping its flimsy cable. For that I have to give it a one-star. May be someone at Bose will listen.

Absolutely love these. I purchased these based upon reviews from others that say they can't hear plane engines while using them. I never have used these headphones before but all I can say is WOW! I can't believe how much noise it eliminates when you turn on the noise cancelling. It also boosts the audio output so music/audio sounds better.
I took these around my office with no source connected to them and had people just test out the noise cancelling on/off feature. Opinions varied on the technology but everyone thought it did an amazing job at eliminating noise in our server rooms and other sources of noise in our office.

Incredible noise cancellation, for comparison, the headphones on alone powered OFF, are better than most active noise canceling competitors

Okay, I read all the reviews and today I tried the Q25 myself. They are very light, plastic material everywhere, but this was okay. The noise canceling for low frequencies works also quite well, e.g. for rumbling noise in an airplane.
What did absolutely did not work was for any kind of voices or conversation. You just hear it loud and clear. I travelled last week with some very articulate Spanish speaking fellows behind me and thought some noise canceling headphones would be a blessing. Well the Bose Q25 would clearly not help with that. Hence, no sale to me...

Almost perfect. My only comment would be regarding its NC capability on board. I was expecting it to fully isolate noise especially the jet engines' i.e. ~ 100% efficiency. It turned to be close to 80%.

With an impending 10+ hour international flight, I blindly bought this latest model based on all the positive reviews of the earlier model. I already had the Sony MDR-NC200D which I had used quite a bit, but the on-the-ear design was just too uncomfortable after a few hours. These was just so amazingly comfortable and effective at blocking out the background noise. I am usually a Bose-hater (which is why I bought the Sony's a couple year ago), but have to admit this is one case where they're actually a good product.
Overpriced? Perhaps, but still happy that I've made the plunge. It made my latest international trip just slightly more bearable.
I also like the fold-up design so that the case is relatively flat and can easily fit in my laptop bag.

Sent them to my dad in India and he said that they were great but sometimes when he was using them to listen to videos on youtube they would mess up (the sound would fluctuate in volume). Not sure if the problem is with the headphones or something else.

Absolutely love them! Great design and the quality of the noise cancelling is just fantastic. I would never board a plane without them anymore and I'm also using them at work almost every day. Very happy I bought them (I have another set of noise-cancelling headphones by a different brand and this is a whole different level)
Two things that could be a bit better: 1) The smallest size adjustment is still a bit big for my head 2) The white box looks quite worn after just a few weeks of average usage
This doesn't change my 5 star rating since both things are minor, but I'd love for Bose to improve on those and make the headphones perfect in the next round :)

If I could afford to buy two pairs, I would. These are so comfortable. And by comfortable, I mean that the kids got quieter. I don't even plug them in, I just put them on, hit the switch and voila, the world is instantly less noisy. I can hear things, just not the shrieking, piercing, yelling stuff that makes me want to shove the sharp end of a pencil in to each ear. Happiness.

We purchased our dream home on a golf course but never realized how noisy it is with the grounds keepers constantly manicuring the course. It doesn't bother me since I am at my office during the week. However, my wife works from the home and is extremely bothered by the constant sound of the mowers and blowers every morning. It got so bad she simply wanted to move away for peace and quiet. Well we decided to test the Bose QC25 and they worked better than expected. They really do exactly as they are advertised. Thank you Bose for my wife's serenity and my golf happiness.

They were just okay. I returned it because I expected a better sound for the price. Also, sometimes they make my ears really hot. It's a very controlled sound and the base was just okay.

These headphones ( Bose QuietComfort ) are amazingly comfortable with the way they cover your ear, and lie gently on your head. they are made of a gentle foam, that is ever so soft.
Not only is this an amazing product for comfort, but for sound as well.
Put them on and you hear nothing but silence.
Turn them on and you hear nothing but what you've chosen.

With the noice-cancelling off these sound like the $5.00 no name garbage I bought at the drug store when I noticed I forgotten my Beats at home.
With the switch thrown, your music will become incredibly loud, and certain ranges will become erratically louder. I want to listen to music while I work, not be on Volume Knob Patrol constantly. Way too distracting.
I hate to sound like a douche or a hater here, but for the price, these are nothing special and the noise cancelling still makes your head feel like it is under water and will give you a headache after an hour.
Comfy though. Very very comfy. Like being caressed on the ears by an expensive screeching harpy with soft soft hands.

I get very distracted by noises at work and after receiving two defective sets of Soul noise cancelling headphones, I decided to splurge on these headphones and couldn't be happier. The noise cancelling is amazing and the sound quality is awesome. The only problem now is that my coworkers have to now shake my shoulder to get my attention. I highly recommend this product.

As a QC15 owner (quite satisfied but at times they lose a bit of musicality, especially in the treble and can sound a little artificial). I read a few reviews which basically indicated the sound quality from the QC15 wasn't any progress but I'd disagree. These are superb, very musical and just lovely to listen to. I use iTunes (360kps MP3), Spotify (320bkps) and also Qobuz (lossless FLAC for the best quality) as sound sources. As others have written the noise cancelling is fantastic, especially on an aeroplane where they do an amazing job of just serving you the music. If you've never tried decent noise cancelling headphone they may astound you. Not cheap but they are great and can be worn for long periods without any side effects (unlike my experience of B&W P5 and P7 which clamp a bit too hard). Wholeheartedly recommended.

I thought I'd be using these only when I needed to study in noisy places. Now it feels like I use them more often than I don't use them. The audio is so crisp and nice, and the noise canceling is incredible. They are comfortable on your ears as long as you need them and the battery life is very impressive. Bose hits this one out of the park.

1. The adverts don't have as much of an explicit mention that these are NOT wireless headphones. I was looking for bluetooth wireless headphones and incorrectly assumed this was one by looking at the images on Amazon.
2. At a relatively louder volume level, the outside of the headphones tend to get noisier than usual headphones. Doesn't affect how it sounds to the listener, but can certainly turn into a nuisance in quiet environments.
