Великолепно

Everyhthing works as expected as long as I don't pull out the clip on the back. This causes a distortion in the microphone and destroys the sound pick-up.

I wish I had saved a clip from this camera. Very poor quality - grainy and distorted colors at all resolutions in both low-light and full-light.Thankfully Amazon has a great return policy!

Great value! This item works very well with my laptop - I talk with and see my son who is in Afghanistan. I can speak in a normal voice and he has no problem hearing me. The mic is great and so is the video!

The video cam works very nicely. There was no problem in using it and the picture is very clear. Sound is great as well. I am not a computer guru, so the ease of use was extremely important. I would buy another one.

Bought this camera so I could Skype my new grandson. Works beautifully. Great resolution; still trying to figure out the picture taking feature but that is more of an user issue than a product issue.

At first, I was not sure about the quality of the product, bust from other customers, I dicided to get one. It is really great and I am enjoying it. The only difficulties which is not really one is download the software on your computer from microsoft website to make the webcam works.Overall great product

I had an old eyeball camera with separate mic, but this is so much better is so many ways. Mic is on the camera. Easy to install and using Yahoo connection it is free!!! Picture is about 90% quality compared to my old one that was about 20%. Sound is like being in the same room. Price about half what I paid when the technology was new. Liked it so so much got one for each of my grown kids and their families. Be aware that the speed is still not in exact real time using my high speed connection thru Charter, but it has only a second or so lag time.

If you're going to read a review about the VX-6000, please note the date. The ones that praise it in 2006 aren't going to tell you what you need to know in the summer of 2008.The problem is the software is incredibly annoying. Microsoft still ships this webcam with LifeCam v. 1.4, but you can't use the 1.4 drivers anymore. At least they didn't work on my machine, because the microphone didn't work. Because the microphone didn't work, I had to go to Microsoft's website and get the latest software, v. 2.0. Then I had to wait a long time for that piece of software to download and install (15 minutes -- and my machine is not slow).If you haven't installed Microsoft Instant Messenger, the LifeCam wants you to. If you install it, you'll be waiting another 15-20 minutes.The hardware seems to work well, once the drivers are working, and I like the design and stability of the webcam.Still, this webcam will take a couple of hours of your day to set up. You have to go find new software on Microsoft's labyrinthine website. So you're probably better off with Logitech or another brand.

THE VERY FIRST TIME OF IT BEING USED: WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO. NOT SURE HOW DIFFICULT TO SET UP, BUT SUSPECT IT WAS EASY.LOOK FORWARD TO RECEIVING MORE VIDEO SOON.

Microsoft LifeCam X-5000 S/N:9252300291721. This web cam works beautifully. Sometime it does freeze, but I'm not sure whether that's due to the product or my computer. I've enjoyed visiting with my family who live far away from me, it's just like being in the same room with them.

This webcam is good. Have great resulution for a webcam and the voice quality is fabulous but it delicate. It bought one but now I have get it exchanged for another. For no reason some for the camera was damaged. You really need to handle it with care.

I got this model for family members for xmas and have the vx-7000 on my desktop and the nx-6000 on my laptop. It has its limits. Works best with good front lighting and gets a little grainy in low light. I haven't really messed with the face-tracking much.Occasionally the mic doesn't work on the first try through WLMessenger, but ending and re-calling usually fixes that. I can see where people with late model computers would prefer the high-end Logitech camera's and Skype, but I think the 6000 is decent for the average person.The vx-6000 is going real cheap on ebay nowadays. I noticed the price coming down a little in the stores just before xmas, but the bay prices are ridiculous. I got the NX-6000 nib off craigslist for a good price.There's places on the net you can learn how to change the top button function if it gets annoying with it starting the win live messenger program. My understanding is that the MS Lifecams are heavily software dependent.It's worked on my Celeron system, but to capture video with it (ie vlogging) you really need the recommended P4 2.4Ghz to which I upgraded. The 7000 I have certainly goes to 2.0mp resolution, but gets choppy over 800x600, so the camera is overkill for my needs. Even if you use the 320x240 it's decent to see. I haven't tried the VX-3000, but that one doesn't use highspeed ports, so I didn't want to risk it.I still haven't tried Stickam, or the more popular Skype (they're optimized for the Logitech cams).

I got this little webcam from my son-in-law and daughter so that we could talk to the grandkids and see them too. I know absolutely nothing about web cameras, software, etc. My son-in-law was able to walk me through the set up and in 10 minutes, we were having a visual conversation. It works great. It does exactly what we need it to do and it is tiny and can mount anywhere you want with the sticky tape - I'm fortunate - I have a USB port on the side of my monitor. The USB cable is short, though, and if your ports are on your hard drive, you'll need an extension cable. Very satisfied with this camera.

Overall, we are very happy with our new VX-5000 and would highly recommend it.PROS- Very light- Very compact- Friends we've used the camera with report a great video signal- The built-in microphone is very handyCONS- Would have liked a travel pouch- Base is not as flexible as envisioned, but it's definitely adequate.OTHER- This does NOT work with the PS3. I wasn't expecting it too, but in case anyone is curious.

Well, this Microsoft Cam has a good picture, works well with multiple programs, but...Mine seems to want to cut the audio from the Mic if the computer gets even remotely busy. I have to switch to another mic, then switch back to the one on the unit.Good camera for the price though.

This would probably be a great cam if the software would actually detect the damn cam. I don't know what Microsoft is doing putting out crap code like this. Just another reason why I didn't bother upgrading to Vista.

I'm not sure if the problem is SKYPE or the camera. Makes more sense that it is SKYPE. When having a conversation with it on SKYPE, only one of the 2 cams work. We can make mine work, in which case the other person's does not or vice versa. Picture quality is good.

This camera is used to talk to friends in other countries. Its video is surprisingly clear and responds very well to dark and light enviroments. The most surpirsing thing was how well the sound came through. A great buy over all.

If you are running Windows 2000, Microsoft no longer supports it and they didn't make a driver for this product for this OS. I wish that I could tell you how it performs but I'm our of luck.

This webcam was a replacement for the our last Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000 which got hit by lightning. We liked this webcam so much that we did not even think of looking for a different model to replace it. Instead, we bought the exact same model, but this time we were more smart about it, we purchased it on-line instead of at a local store. We use this web cam quite frequently for our two small children to talk/see to their granparents over the internet. In fact, my parents and my in-laws use the same camera. The picture is great and the one-touch button on the top of the camera is something my parents like because they do not need to try to find the software to run the camera. Once the button is pressed the software automatically starts.

The quality of the Microsoft Lifecam VX-5000 is surprisingly good for the price. I bought it a couple of days ago to give some video calls to my parents in Europe (nothing fancy because they have a slow DSL connection). They were amazed by the clarity of the video (in 640x480). Moreover the camera works well in a low-light environment and the built-in microphone is good. Of course, if you plan to do professional work with your webcam, you might probably want to invest in a 2 Megapixels camera (instead of this 1.3 Mpixels). But for most Messenger-like applications, it's more than appropriate and at a very decent price.

I bought this for my laptop and seems to work pretty well. It picks up a lot of noise interference when sitting on top of my screen which forces me to place it off to the side or where ever I can find. So rather than having the people I'm chatting with look squarely at my face they usually get a nice view of what's up my nose. Another quirk is I have noticed the status light on even though I'm not using it. Probably would not buy again.

OK - the MS Lifecam VX-5000 is the only webcam I've tried (other than the $2000 Sonys I installed at work). For $35 or so its great. Simply to install - nice quality picture - software is pretty straight forward. Bought each of my adult kids one for Christmas so now we can all video chat - for free! This is way cool - even a baby boomer can do it!

This webcam may not work in low light conditions very well. Yet it is a good webcam. To people who wonder what Windows Live Call button does, it simply opens and signs in Windows Live Messenger and opens the "Select a contact to send an Instant Message" window when pushed.

This product is not even worthy of the one star I gave it. I just bought this for my parents computer because it was a good price. Now I know why. They shouldn't even give it away! It wasn't ready for the market. I have the Logitech 9000 and I recommend this. The Lifecam software never installed. I had to go online and then it didn't install properly. After 2 hours of fooling around, it is going back. This was a waste of my time and money.

This webcam is better than I expected it to be. It has good resolution for such a low price, and it was easy to setup and start using. I use Yahoo messenger to make video calls and it works ok. Some days it works great and some days it does not. I attribute the bad days to high internet activity. When it works well, the picture is good and the microphone is great. I had few problems with setting up the camera and the software. The resolution is not as good as the high end products, but reasonable for the price. I have found there are connection problems that are connection related and any product would suffer quality with that situation.I found it a quick and relatively painful way to enter the video conferencing world.

This little web cam was priced right and does everything I need to see and converse with family. Good picture and audio plus easy hook up. I'm very pleased with it. And once it's working, there is no cost to use it and have long "face to face" visits via internet.

The Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 is a great product. Easy to install and easy to use. The flexible stand makes it a breeze to set up on your desktop or on the edge of your laptop. Pictures are adequate and for the money, you can't beat it. Great for Skyping, this product is not meant for high quality photography. If that's what your are looking for, you need to pay bigger bucks.

I installed the software and it crashed my computer, I am running Windows XP. It took forever to uninstall and now I keep getting error messages when I go on AOL. I use the cam on Yahoo messenger but no sound, anyone know how to fix my problems now?

Smallest, functional, fit nicely on top of my LCD screen. Picture and audio quality are very good. The only complaint is installing driver/software which took a long time; it seemed like it had to download the entire software even though it came with a CD. I take 1 star away for that.

I Skype every day and love this camera. I have Skyed with friends using more expensive webcams and the quality is no better than mine. I have recommended it to several people because the picture and sound quality are great and so is the price. Love it!

I purchased 2 of the VX-6000 Web Cams in March 2008 so we could see our grandaughter in another state. One of them is running on a Vista and the other on a XP computer. I couldn't tell you how many hours and days we have messed with these trying to get them to work. It is so frustrating. Right when you think you have figured it out - they freeze up again. It is to late for me to return them since it is now September 2008....my next thing is to call Microsoft and if that doesn't work - I will put them in the closet along with the other dumb purchases I have made. If something happens where I end up figuring them out - I will post what I am doing wrong.
