The TP-Link TL-WN722N has exceptional reception! I am using a Dell Inspiron 6000 as a carpc and was unable to connect to any wireless networks with my car parked in the street. This wireless USB adapter allows me to connect to my network using wireless-G signal with about 3 bar a few houses down from my house (bear in mind my Linksys WRT320N router is located behind deeply insulated walls with plenty of interference).

Ordered 2 of these because we decided to finally convert the house to wifi. One is used on the desktop in my room and the other is for my neice's laptop. It was easy enough to install that she was able to get hers working on her own, and she not tech savy at all. Has been working great for about 2 months now.

This thing is basically amazing! I have a rosewill P.O.S. that I bought a while ago, and after seeing this one being n-rated and having a tone of good reviews, I gave in and bought, and Man am I glad that I did. I have been using it for about two months now and I leave it in my computer constantly. I will very often make some very large downloads over night (ahem, ahem) like 10 gb, and this thing has never once dropped the signal, acted up in anyway, or even gotten warm. Seriously, this thing after two days of downloading at full speed stayed cool to the touch, and I like the green L.E.D. Get it, you won't be sorry.

Me and my girlfriend video chat frequently and were plagued with stuttering video and constant disconnects using her laptops internal antennas. I bought a new router for her and it still didn't help. Finally I decided to give this adapter a try and so far the wireless is a lot more stable than before. The router isn't in an ideal place being one floor below and 3 walls back from the laptop but its stillable to video chat pretty well. So if your laptops having connection issues (seems many do with there internal antennas) than this may alleviate your headaches.

I'm not a computer expert, but I can not get this adapter to connect at anything over 65 mbps. My previous adapter gave me 130 mbps. I'm running XP, if that matters. I sent two emails to TP-Link tech support and they can't even be bothered to reply to me. While the unit does function, I give it one star because of the non-existent tech support. You are on your own if you buy this thing. Calling tech support on the phone was useless also; a recording always stated that they were busy and to try my call later. Then the call simply disconnects. Terrible service.

I know it's a wifi connection all by itself, but now my laptop has 2 connections and this one is far better than the built in wifi on my laptop. It goes from good to very good-excellent with this thing. So I am pleasantly surprised with this item. (Bought it for my home tower pc, but did not work ,,,too old)

I've been using this for about a week and it's worked great. I have it about 40ft from my wireless router going through 3 walls and it gets 4 or 5 bars at all times. The wireless N is noticeably faster than the G or B so if you do very much streaming media this is probably worth the upgrade from the slower standards.UPDATE: I've been using this about 6 months now and liked it so much I bought a second one for my other computer. It's still been working well so far and I would recommend it if you are looking for a wireless N adapter.

Out of the many USB WiFi adapters I have, and when I say many, I mean at count I have 6x at present (mostly N, but a few G's, not counting the radio's in 4x laptops). This is the BEST, FASTEST and EASIEST to use adapter I have. It really isn't a long range adapter per say, I have both the Alfa's (N and G) long range adapters for that (wardriving, etc). I use this adapter on a C2D laptop in my bedroom with a DIY Catenna antenna. (My hook up is wired cable with 18 to 20 Mb's down and the router is in the kitchen of a 1x bedroom apartment.) I get, according to Speedtest.net, between 12 and 14 Mb's down (wireless fluctuates a lot in my apartment). As long as you're not trying to break any long range reception (get a long range adapter especially made for that, wardriving, etc) I would wholeheartedly recommend this adapter.

I purchased this adapter for a Giada Cube running XBMC. The adapter installed without any problems under Windows 7 x64. Speed is definitely an issue with the sustained rate for large transfers averaging 45Mb, while laptops with build-in Wireless N adapters are averaging more than twice that speed.The adapter connects at 300Mb and has a strong signal. I have not had any problems with disconnects.The vendor is still shipping version 1.1 of the adapter, not version 2.0 which has been out for a while.

Works great if you can follow instructions...another reviewer wrote this helpful advice..."It also comes with a software called QSS - Quick Secure Setup. DO NOT USE THIS SOFTWARE UNLESS YOUR ROUTER HAS A PIN# on the back / supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup." I followed this advice, didn't download the software and I have had no problems at all!

I had trouble with my wireless card running ubuntu 11.10 on a 64bit machine... I took the risk to buy this wireless card even if some reviews said it didn't work... I was lucky an it works perfectly... no setup, no driver... just plug it and that's it!

The computer on which I installed this unit is running the 64-bit version of Windows Vista. I plugged the TP-Link TL-WN722N into a USB port, installed the drivers as instructed, and the darn thing went right to working. My wireless system is G, but this N model also works on my G system without a single problem. All my wireless stuff goes through my Linksys WRT54GL wireless G router.The TP-Link TL-WN722N functions well, is easy to install, and costs very little.It works with 64-bit Vista and also will work with wireless G systems.Go ahead, "Add to Cart" now.

This is simply the best wireless adapter I have ever used. It picked up good signals that my laptop couldn't even see, and worked perfectly under Windows XP. The driver install was a snap and includes a lightweight driver-only install for use with the Windows wireless configuration. A good quality product for cheap - a winning combination.

It worked for a few days and then went completely and totally dead. I'm guessing I just got unlucky, but that's what happened, there's no way to sugarcoat something like that. If the next one of these I get doesn't die on me I'll give it a good review.UPDATE:The replacement one I bought has been working fine without any problems.

Bought this to hook up a new desktop system to our historical society's wifi network.Step 1: Plug into computer using supplied USB cableStep 2: Install driver from included CDStep 3: Connect and enter password (one-time)Took all of 2-3 minutes! Windows reported excellent connection and I didn't even have to extend the antennas.Our network is currently Wireless G - but this connected with no problem. Router is in another room about 40 feet away.Used to download and install several hundreds of MB's of OS & application updates, anti-virus, and firewall software. Connection remained solid entire time.

I mis-trusted many misleading reviews. This product was totally not working. You can install, but it does not function. You cannot find internet with it. To make things even worse, it destroys your existing built-in wireless device the one you try to "betray". You end up with no one works for you. They all betray you. You don't even know how to get your original one back - how to restore it, how to clean the bad one, because they are conflicting to each other. Lost wife lost soldier.

This is my second purchase of this item and I highly recommend the TP-Link Wireless N TL-WN22N. I replaced two wireless PCI N cards and the difference is like night and day. I think the problem with PCI cards is that they are located behind a computer which may be behind a desk or other furniture and I think that may be responsible for their poor performance. Since this device is tethered to a USB wire and it can be put in a more clear path to the signal the difference is significant. The price is in the same ballpark as most PCI cards so if you don't mind this small device in view it is a winning proposition. My two network locations went from -49dBm and -60 dBm to -31dBM and -38dBM with this device. I have bought four TP-Link devices and they are a big surprise. Before that I had never heard of this brand. My only wish is that TP-Link would start making their products in black to match all my other components.

This little device works surprisingly well. My wife's laptop had continuous, frustrating problems staying connected to our local WiFi network (maybe interference, maybe a marginally weak signal, probably both). This little external WiFi adapter works like a champ, stays locked on solid and reliable. 60-second installation, no problems to speak of! Included driver disk works just fine with Windows 7.

I needed a stronger Wifi adapter, as the PCI (-g) card I had kept dropping the signal. I plugged this in and 30 seconds later I was accessing the web about 7 times faster. I can't attest to its longevity but so far it has worked extremely well.According to Speedtest.net, 17ms Ping, 21Mbs down, 4Mbs up with Verizon cable and a router 1 floor away.

Installed and kept getting driver error. "problem with bindings" researched on net and apparently with win 7 It is necessary to remove your security suite and the driver you installed then reinstall driver and security suite.After the above was done the device worked without problem. Using it with my laptop its range was about the same as the internal wireless g but throughput was a very small bit faster.Not worth the trouble if you have a working system now. This unit wound up on my old backup desktop so it can access network wireless.Under Kubuntu 11.4 it worked fine as soon as plugged in,Do recall that sustained throughput is limited to the 30 meg or so with any external input over usb 2.

Beware of the deceptive ad copy and claims of 150 Mbps data rates. This is a run-of-the-mill 802.11b/g device incapable of data rates beyond 54 Mbps which is actually 19-21 Mbps of real maximum throughput. Also be wary when they list antenna gain as "dBi" which is actually a comparison to an "isotropic radiator" which is actually a mythical antenna that does not exist. Congratulations, they have achieved 4 dBi of gain over an imaginary antenna that doesn't exist.They say this b/g adapter is "compatible with the 802.11n standard" and I guess that's kinda true, since the 802.11n standard mandates backward compatibility with 802.11b/g devices.

This is a good product and the only reason I gave it four stars is b/c it doesn't work with Linux (Ubuntu). When I bought this item I didn't research the Linux compatibility and just did it based on Newegg and Amazon ratings. It is fast. Is easy to set up with Windows 7 but if you're a Linux user, this isn't for you.

Device was not functional after install of driver on Dell Dimension 8400. Tried everything but computer won't boot with device attached, won't recognize, and repeated installs were no help. To expensive to ship back so into the trash it goes.....

Nice build quality & a very reasonable price. Seller: Geeks Hive provided fast & well packaged shipping. Came in sealed factory packaging, which included a USB extension cable that came in handy on my laptop-in-the-garage installation. Note: You MUST use the enclosed software disk. I live in a 2 story home with reinforced concrete floors, so I wanted something to increase my wireless strength. It's a good product, but it actually decreased my signal strength by about 20%, while greatly increasing my Mbps speed to 150. So, what to do. Never heard of a powerline av adapter kit before, but bought a kit and am loving that. Much better than any wifi. The TP-Link was excellent when within 25 feet of the router on the same floor, not so good on the second floor, just ok. Good value, wouldn't make sense to return.

Why 3 not 5. Well I'm going to explaine it right after I say that the packaging was great as usual, you know amazon is amazon. Keep it right guys I still like you. The product by it self is one of the best, but there are some kind of issues; and I'm saying this with all understanding of that type of products. Issues are in the drivers set that comes with this item and with those drivers that you can download and update for free from the official site. What kind of issues; can't get it ... yet! But you know what, this this worth every dollar that it cost and will overbeat it price by quality as soon as they fix drivers set. Thank you amazon !RAiL'

I'm using this wireless adapter on my home theater PC (computer hooked up to my TV). My previous wireless adapter was suffering from annoyingly slow speeds and low signal strength connections. I finally gave up on it, did some research, and bought this TP-LINK. Now my wireless signal strength is always at "excellent" and my speed is fantastic.This device came with a little USB extension cable which lets you put the adapter a few feet away from your PC (and TV in my case), which clears up some room from the rear IO panel and probably improves reception a little too.Awesome adapter

This was suggested by a friend and I love it. I was just going to get a cheap card to put in my computer for now but I've been really happy with this instead. The external antenna makes it work fantastically and it comes with a usb extension cord. This lets me still have my computer close to the wall, and set the device somewhere where it still won't be seen but still get a great signal from my router which is on the floor above. I also love the fact that I could use it on any other device if I need to without too much of a hassle.

First few week worked like a dream. Now however it is dose not like to connect. I will load a web page fine but once I click anything in that website it says I have a network error. So I took the adapter off and used an ethernet cable and what do u know my network no longer has errors. try another brand!!!!!!!! I am.
