I will keep this short and sweet. This wireless adapter worked like a charm for six months. I got great speeds and performance but after six months it started acting strange. From time to time the signal would drop and the device would be unrecognized by Windows (Win 7 pro x64). If I unplugged it and plugged it back in, it would work again. At first it would cut out every half hour or so, but now it can be up to every 5 minutes. I attempted to reinstall the drivers but to no avail. I tested it on other devices in my network with the same result.All in all it seems like this little guy is a gamble. According to the reviews, lots of people are happy with the product. However, I am in that minority that got a lemon.

Just received this produced yesterday and installed today. It installed very easy an just took a minute or two before it was working. Not sure yet on how much better it is than my old one. Price was good and the shipping fast.

Pros: Very easy install Finds networks well Great speeds when it is stableCons: Not stable. Loses signal strength periodically. Works amazing one second and could be completely useless 5 minutes later. During video games periodic lag is experienced. Compared to other adapters this one has heavy lag once in a while. If it wasn't for this fact I would give 5 stars

I purchased this to replace another wireless adapter that worked poorly on one of our home computers. After a simple install that took about 3 minutes, the wireless performance was vastly improved over the original adapter. This desktop computer is now working as if the network were wired. I would buy again.Signal level is indicated in the software status screen.

I love moving my mouse over my wi-fi icon and seeing "signal strength excellent and 300 Mbps". My router is upstairs and these work perfect. I only loaded the driver off the included cd, plugged them into USB port and they just work with no issues. I bought the first one a year ago, got a new computer and bought another one. Using them both on seperate computers at the same time with no issues.

I bought this adapter a little over a year ago after my wireless card burned out. It worked amazingly, though getting the drivers installed was a bit of a pain (make sure you get the model number off the back before plugging it in to install).Also the lack of online drivers for it means you need to hold onto the CD for as long as you use the adapter.

I bought this to replace yet another wireless adapter that didn't work well. This one works *awesome*. Great reception, good speed. The only issue that I run into is that I seem to have to unplug it and plug it back in every now and then to get my wifi running again. Seems to happen whenever the computer is left unattended for a period of time. Other than that, this is the best, most problem-free adapter I've found so far.

I bought this adapter after looking for a very reliable WiFi adapter with a good antenna. The adapter is used with a new desktop computer that was put together from parts at home.It took some fiddling around but since then, things have been great. For example, I found that the device does not work in USB 3.0 ports so make sure your computer has USB 2.0 ports. In addition, when the computer was put to sleep and then resumed, the adapter would not connect to the network. I found out that I had to uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."Since then, the desktop has stayed connected to the home network without any problems.

I know some networking, and I always brace myself for all the IP switching required to setup something like this. Not this time, it really is idiot proof. Just load the software, and everything is done automatically. Nice strong signal, the device is small and doesn't get in the way. Build quality is surprisingly good for something at this price point. Easy to switch between computers if you have the need. Just install the software on each one ahead of time. Highly recommended.

I had a new trendnet pci adapter that was getting about 2 bars even with my router in the next room and I paid double for that one so I decided to try out this TP-link usb wireless adapter I was skeptical at first because the price was low and it was a usb adapter but the user reviews were so great I wanted to try it out. I was blown away at the bar increase I got now I get 5 bars instead of the crummy 2 bars with the trendnet. The price is great the item is small and works great !! Plus I was able to pick up my neighbors wireless connection that's how strong it is. I'm very satisfied with my purchase I've also noticed my download/upload speed increased and web browsing is a lot faster too.If you have bad or low bars wireless connection give this a try it works like a charm I've had this for a month and its been nothing but great one of the best product I ever purchased for my PC.The only con I can think about is that Win7 34/64bit will not recognize this product so you will have to use the cd it came with to install the drivers but other then that a easy 5-Star purchase oh and I forgot it also came with a usb wire extender too didn't even know until I opened the box I didn't need it (and you probably won't too) but its good to know they were thinking about their customers needs.I highly recommend this product !!

I bought this adapter to use on an onkyo NR-717 receiver, because the chipset matches onkyo's adapter. This adapter was very cheap and offered greater range and speed. This thing is an awesome little tool. I ordered another for around the house and at work, when I need great range and speed.

Very easy to set up. I spent like 10 min or less.but my laptop ( toshiba satellite ) wifi reception is almost the same that this device. So there was no difference.I recomend it for poor reception computers or just as an USB modem, not for trying to get far wifis.

This adapter seems to do the trick and works better than most. I really like the cable that comes with it so I can place it in certain places if its in the way or something like that. The cable also prevents a little kid from kicking it and breaking the adapter off in the port which makes it invaluable!

I previously used a Belkin Wireless G adapter, and it was o.k.Then I moved and my belkin could barely get a signal at my new location. Several walls and about 40-50 feet now separate my router(an N router) and my new p.c. location. I purchased the TP Link adapter specificall because it had 2 antennae and advertised the 300mbps speed. I paired it up with an amazon basics usb cable(so that I would have more options on where to place it, as the amazon cable was longer than the cable which came with it).*BAM* Instant improvement. I went from barely 2 bars of signal, to 4 or 5 bars of signal(it fluctuates some times). I'm now connected at wireless N speed as well. Not only that, my previous adapter only barely saw my own router, but this new TP Link adapter sees over 10 other wireless routers in my area!I can't speak to the longevity of it yet(only owned it a week) but so far this thing is an amazing improvement for me.

In my dorm where wifi routers, printers and computers roam, this wifi adapter managed to find a signal and stay onto it! The dual antennae and included wire allow me to move it around for the places or times where signal is focused or blocked around certain areas. I love it and use it whenever my Ethernet cable doesn't extend far enough or I can't find the router through the multiple walls and floors of my dorm.

I have had a good experience with other TP-link products, so I am not hesitant to order from TP-link. The seller shipped the item promptly.However, if at all possible, do not, do not, DO NOT use Fedex as your shipping carrier. They apparently do not know the definition of "fast". My adapter shipped from Orlando to Jacksonville, FL (a three-hour drive) in about two days, and then has sat at the Jacksonville Fedex station for about four days now. Without being sent to me.So, if possible, use UPS or USPS. Not Fedex.

I moved a computer that previously used a wired connection to a remote spot in the house and decided wireless would be the easiest. I was less concerned with maximum speed as long as it was a reliable connection. This adapter connected and operated quickly and easily. I'm running Windows x64 Pro so driver issues and compatibility problems are common with both old and new devices. The TP-LInk didn't care, it just worked. I'm going through a few walls, a staircase and a floor and still get a very strong connection.It is a nice clean design and the included cable is sufficient to put the adapter on top of the computer or route it somewhere practical. It's big enough I didn't want it just hanging off the USB port directly.My ONLY complaint is that the software doesn't want to just go away after being told to let windows handle things. I haven't dug into the settings further, but I clicked where it asked whether to let windows handle it or not, so why does it keep coming up and asking on boot or recovery from hibernation? Still, minor complaint and the software isn't causing any problems so I just haven't gone to much effort to sort it out.I would certainly recommend this product. I have only been using mine a few weeks but have had zero issues. Time will tell, but it has had a promising start.

I bought this product for use on a Linux machine even though some reviews said it didn't work. And I am glad I took that chance as it works amazing! I literally plugged it in, and about 20 seconds later I was online. I have tested this using Fedora 17 and have no problems other than sometimes after long periods of use it will disconnect. But that is only after a long time of continual use, like 4+ hours and I have only noticed this about 3 times total. The speed and range is actually better than my laptop. It will connect to WiFi that my laptop cant even see is there. I have been using this product for almost 2 months and would definitely recommend it!

This product works great when it works. The only problem is about once a week it will stop working and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. I've tried it in 3 different USB ports and one hub - same problem. Other than that, it works great. It's obviously not for moving large files over a network. I do some gaming and rarely have any problems - and then, it's hard to say if it's the wireless card or the server I'm playing on.

doesn't get a great connection. Internet can be somewhat slow and sometimes it loses connection temporarily. Still it's better than not having a connection, and it;s the only was my pc can be connected without moving it downstairs.

I was skeptical about this adapter at first but I ordered it and it arrived via overnight shipping. It did not take long to load the driver and adapter software off the mini CD and after rebooting my system the adapter was found by Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. After configuring and setting up the wireless security for this adapter I was off and running. This is one handy little wireless adapter. The adapter comes with a three foot USB cord that allows you to move the adapter around to get that sweet spot signal. I have been using this adapter with my laptop for days now and I have no problems. I always get a strong signal from my wireless router which is two rooms away and I can download huge files and stream movies with no problem and no delays. My connection speeds are always 150 Mbps or more, it just depends on the internet traffic in my area. A big improvement over the old Belkin Wireless N Notebook card that I used to use and fight with on a daily basis. No more disconnects or lost signals since I started using this wireless adapter.

I needed a new wireless connection since my 50 ft Cat5 stopped working and I was running a 6 ft directly from my desktop to the router and wanted to get rid of the trip hazard. This produce installed quickly enough, but randomly disconnects. No really rhymn or reason, sometimes I am connected for days at a time and today alone, I have disconnected 8 times. There must be better options out there.

I needed this for an old computer that I was putting back in service for some limited word processing and scanning. Needed to connect it to the wireless network and the old adapter had died.Easily connected to our system (which is not blazingly fast-- thanks Frontier Communication-- and has functioned adequately. I've only had it for about a couple of weeks now. I'll update this review if it flakes out on its own.

This is a great little USB-wireless adapter that seems to have no difficulties with speed or anything like that. I'm not any kind of expert on these things, though, but I'll just say this much:If you are a novice Ubuntu/Linux enthusiast, this device is not for you. You need some expertise in the use of drivers and software in linux in order to get this to work in Ubuntu. That being said, if what you want is a wireless adapter for Windows, this is perfect for you. It came with an install CD and everything. I took off one star for the Ubuntu compatibility issues (i.e., it isn't plug-and-play like my old USB-wifi adapter), but otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.edit/update: With Ubuntu 12.04, this is plug-and-play compatible. I only had difficulties in Ubuntu 10.04. Hence, five stars now.

This provides better signal than the stick type wifi adapter I used before. I had no issues with installing it on a Windows 8 system. I did go to the website to get the latest drivers. So, you may want to do that if you are installing it on a Win8 system.

I purchased this for my recent replacement Dell, refurbished desktop for the man-cave (enclosed patio). The Linksys wireless-G router is about 35 feet away in the office/3rd br. Reception has to occur through a concrete wall and interior wall. I am consistently getting a "good" to "excellent" signal according to the wireless app on Windows. I think the high-gain antenna helps a lot.The entire installation took less then 5 minutes for hardware and software. The software installation self-configured and automatically connected to my WEP-Personal wireless network after I entered the encryption key. This was one of the easiest setups compared to the other TP-Link, mini USB adapter I had purchased for our old laptop a few weeks earlier. That took almost an hour to manually configure. However, that laptop was running XP whereas the refurbished desktop is running Vista.This past weekend I watched several movies on Amazon Prime. Except for the occasional buffering issues, I was quite satisfied. I'll have to try our Netflix streaming service this weekend. Internet web-pages are fast and problem-free. This is a very decent, inexpensive product.
