I bought the TP-link in April because of the need for increased wi-fi reception. I had the indication that this would send a one bar signal through the roof. The reality is, it works very well almost all the time, but it only boosts the signal by about one bar. Sometime two if you're lucky. I would recommend this product a buy if your signal is poor. But if it is pretty good it won't get much better.

I bought this with the TP-Link AC UC100 USB cradle and both work much better than I expected. That's when I realized I have been working with a lot of obsolete WIFI hardware so I have been busy replacing WIFI cards in my two older laptops and all my home router/AP hardware.

If you have a router with a QSS button, installation is no problem. Windows XP has a disable setting you have to make sure isn't set to "disable", but that's about it. Works very slowly if you don;t have USB 2.0.

There was once a time when I enjoyed the benefits of a wired connection. And then the router moved downstairs to better support the Wii and AppleTV. Thinking nothing of it, I went ahead and got myself a cheap-o wifi adapter for my computer from Walmart which did fine for browsing the internet but sucked when I did file transfers across the network and it had a tendency to have bad latency spikes. So bad in fact that I ended up losing as a result in nearly every 1v1 online game I had due to the frequency the spikes happened (this is the only time I will ever legitimately blame lag as a result of my loss).This would not work for me.So I came across this guy after doing some research across several forums. I ordered it and it came sooner than expected. I opened the box, plugged it in, installed the drivers, and started to do some tests on it. The latency is great on this thing. It's not as good as having a wired connection of course, but it's nearly as good. The only problem I have with it is that it's a little weak on catching the signal, sometimes getting as low as 3 bars whereas the cheap adapter I got at Walmart always had 5. But, shoot, as long as I don't drop the signal and keep the great latency, I will be golden. I definitely recommend this to other PC gamers who are looking for a relatively cheap wifi adapter.

This WILL NOT work on any Mac/OS X operating system. Also the install CD it the size of a Game Cube disc, so if your CD player on your laptop doesn't have a tray, but instead "accepts CDs through a slot, you'll end up call the manufacturer and having them email you drivers. Basically, i say go another direction, perhaps with something from Hawking Technology, which you can at least tell in advance which products work on what OS and what editions of those OSs. PS - I have not been able to get the necessary software to work, so the hardware might work great or it might not work at all...looks pretty tho'

The TP-Link adapter has been a lifesaver for me. I do a lot of work online and need to have a reliable and stable connection. When my old adapter died after many years' good use, I tried a number of different adapters, but they all had problems - couldn't hold the signal, didn't want to install on 7 64-bit, you name it, it happened. Finally, the TP-Link was the answer. It works beautifully and has no problem staying online for days. Installation was fast and presented no problems. I'd recommend this adapter to almost anyone.I withheld a star over a few design issues. The USB end of the adapter is wider than a standard USB device, so if you have USB slots stacked vertically on your computer, it may block other slots. This has not been a problem for me, but it's something to be aware of. Also, the metal piece by which the antenna is attached feels a little loose. That's probably so it can be adjusted easily, though I'd keep it in mind if you intend to use this device on a computer shared with kids (who often have no idea how to handle electronics!)All-in-all, this adapter meets my needs perfectly, though there are a few things other buyers might want to be aware of. If nothing else has worked for you, too, try this! It might be the answer!

I bought this hoping that it would make the wireless signal better. Well it did not. In fact, the cheap USB 54 that I bought for 2 bucks pulls a much better signal than this one which should be high gain.This product sucks and is a waste of money.

I love this product! I needed to set up my upstairs desktop computer with internet so I bought this wireless adapter and it works perfectly. Signal strength is always Very Good even though my wireless modem is downstairs in another room. I'm not terribly savy with computer hardware but this product is simple to install & use. Also, I had read in another review that this product comes with a handy cable that can be plugged into the computer so you can move the adapter around. This is very useful as the device would be too large to plug into the back since I like my computer close to the wall. Super happy with this purchase. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Had to have their software installed. I had to replug it in every time I restarted windows 7 x64. Not exactly a high quality thing that. Oh well. It did work and I didn't turn my computer off that frequently. It was obnoxious though.

I got this wireless adapter for my desktop to replace an old B/G 52mbps one that was getting old. The TP-Link has a good strong signal and higher bandwidth than my previous adapter, but when I put the computer to sleep for long periods and wake it up again, the TP-Link doesn't start up and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. It comes with a several foot USB extension cable, so I have it sitting next to the keyboard and it's easy to unplug and replug, but it's a nuisance and a flaw that shouldn't have found its way into a shipping product.

Read all the reviews here and was expecting the worst. Figured for the price, we didn't have a lot to lose so why not roll the dice? Much to our amazement, we only had to install the drivers off the mini cd included and presto, works like a charm! New desktop running Windows 7, no other easy options available to connect. Bonus points for ultra fast shipping and the USB extension cord. To keep it from being damaged, we just stuck some velcro on it and attached to the top of our CPU. No problems yet with connectivity, it's been about a week. Just hoping we don't crap out but have already ordered another cheapie off FleaBay in case. We'll update on its longevity as this seems to be an issue.

The reviews are great here on Amazon. I've bought plenty of TP-Link products before that are terrific. And the design of the product is very desirable - sleek, slim, sturdy antenna.I had a "G" access point only 10 feet away, with no obstructions, and I couldn't get this adapter to pull down anything faster than 1-2Mbps. No amount of software fiddling, hardware placement, etc would change the incredibly slow data rate.My Internet service is over 16Mbps and working pefectly everywhere else in the house. I simply had no choice but to return this item.Maybe your experience will be different. But that was mine.

I bought this network adapter to replace my Netgear WPN111. With the Netgear adapter I would only get two or three bars of signal strength and it would crash at least once per day. I am very happy with the TP-Link adapter with the two antennas. I consistently get five bars of signal strength through two walls and a floor. In nearly 2 weeks of use it hasn't crashed once. Installation was very simple. I installed the driver from the included CD but I didn't use the included utility. Windows 7 64-bit connected quickly and easily with no problems.Before buying the TP-Link adapter I tried the Etekcity High Power 802.11 B/N/G 300M USB Wireless 1000mw Wifi Network Adapter with Dual Antenna. The Etekcity was a very poor build and did not work well out-of-the-box. For only seven dollars difference the TP-Link is a great value.

TP-Link TL-WN722N 150Mbps High Gain Wireless USB AdapterI purchased this adapter to replace a Belkin Basic 802.11n 150Mbps Wireless USB Adapter. The Belkin adapter has no external antenna. The Belkin Basic cost under $20 at Walmart. The Belkin Basic was only rated for Good Coverage out of Good, Great or Best.I was trying to get a stronger signal thru 3 to 4 walls at under 100 feet. The many positive and few negative reviews, especially those hailing this WiFi adapter's ability to receive stronger signals thru several walls and at longer distances, really got my attention. I was soon to be disappointed.My Router is a current 2Wire model supplied by AT&T U-Verse. [...]I was receiving (a Fair) 4 out of 5 Bars signal strength and 3-4 WiFi Sites with the Belkin Basic (It has no external antenna)Although this TP-Link TL-WN722N easily installed on my Windows-XP and Windows 7 computers, and it also located around double the WiFi Sites, the actual signal strength only rated (a Poor) 2 to 3 out of 5 Bars, no matter how I arranged the supplied cable included with the TP-Link adapter. The TP-Link was noticeably slower loading webpages than the Belkin Basic.I can't understand how Hardly Anyone Else is experiencing my Disappointment !!!What bugs me about this purchase was all those windbags that reviewed the product here claiming they got spectacular reception, some over 20,000 feet or over major acreage, or that it performs better than similar products from other manufacturers. Those people must be paid from the manufacturer to create bogus reviews because this product is nothing to brag about.This TP-Link TL-WN722N is just an average product, just like all the other USB WiFi adapters that sell for less than $20. It will only improve reception for those people that have a laptop with a horrible built-in wifi card that does not connect well to anything. I had poor luck installing this on a Lenovo Thinkpad R61i with a fully functioning internal wireless card, running Windows XP. The TL-WN722N's documentation suggested there would be no conflict, but that the TP-LINK device would augment the built-in device. Despite uninstall/re-installs, I couldn't get the TL-WN722N to function properly. The LED light never flashed rapidly, indicating an active connection. (Yes, I downloaded the latest drivers/utility from TP-LINK's Web site.)Removing the TP-LINK software (with it set as the computer's Wireless Client) can disable your laptop's internal wireless device!ThinkPads have a Lenovo-supplied wireless management system, which was active on my laptop. The TP-LINK also provides a wireless client management utility. These seemed to be in conflict, despite the TL-WN722N device appearing to be functioning via Windows XP's Device Manager.The TP-LINK's wireless client utility has an option for you to select the wireless 'client software.' Your choices include a) Windows; b) TP-LINK's client; and c) a Third-Party Utility.Be very careful to observe which client(s) is/are active, especially if you decide to uninstall the TP-LINK software!In frustration over the laptop's poor performance with the TP-LINK software installed, I uninstalled the TP-LINK's software -- without noticing that the TP-LINK utility was set to be the active 'client software.' After the uninstall, the ThinkPad's built-in wireless card could not associate with my network, even though it was ostensibly turned 'On' via Device Manager, and despite numerous attempts to revive it via the Lenovo wireless client.After removing the TP-LINK wireless client, my laptop was behaving as if my internal wireless device had failed.The solution was to reinstall the TP-LINK client, then set the 'Client Software' to be Windows. This restored my control over the internal wireless device. Apparently there's a registry setting that isn't removed, when you uninstall the TP-LINK software. This dirty uninstall can 'orphan' your internal devices.

I'm using this with my XP laptop. I installed the driver per instructions, and Windows found it immediately.Pros: Excellent connectivity & speed.Cons:1. With the antenna, which you cannot disconnect, this really is too large & heavy to plug directly into a laptop. You'll have to use the usb extension cable.2. Driver installation is SLOW. It actually looks like the installation has crashed. Be patient.

The title says it all folks. This thing is lighting fast. The best $20 I've spend in a long time.====PLEASE NOTE====1.) Make sure you install the software.2.) Connect to the internet only through the software included.3.) Turn off power save mode in the advanced tab (this causes it to constantly disconnect.)4.) Now you have super fast wireless internet.

Very good product. This is the 2nd purchase for my 2nd desktop computer at home. Unfold the antennas, I get full signal at 300Mbps in my office, which is 40 ft away from my wifi router across several walls. Never dropped connection. More than happy!Don't forget to deploy the antennas as shown in product picture!

I bought this two weeks ago.Instead of installed adapter when my PC bought(VISTA).This one is samll and Quite.Sensivity,down load,up load speed are over TWC upper limit(30M,5M).installtion was easy ,Driver works very well.And,attached apprication software are too honesty.Signal strength are much variable in my house at night and day.Any way ,This one are good .

I was not expecting this thing to be so BIG. I have it draped over a cabinet door since there is no other place for it. The manufacturer really needs to provide a stand because you can't plug it into your PC, it's too big and heavy. Also, they misspelled the word NETWORK on the main status screen (Netwrok) so their manufacturing attention to detail is not good. The thing seems to work but it is just so clunky and badly designed! I will update this review after I see how well it performs over time.

Just got the Adapter, quick installation and getting real good speeds. I'm two floors above the router (Airport Express) and still see brilliant speeds. I was doubtful and bought another MediaLink Adapter, but looks like this handles the job real well. Four stars for now and saving the fifth one for after a month :-).

I live in a condo with brick and mortar walls and interference from my several neighbors WiFi, so my son had trouble watching videos at his room. I tried four different routers (two D-Link, one TP-Link and one Belkin) and four different network cards: three dongles, one with a big antenna and an internal D-link card. Nothing gave reliable HD streaming, even when connected to a long USB wire and trying to position the dongle in different ways. I even replaced the software in one of the D-Links (a DIR-615) with DD-WRT to no improvement in speed.With this little machine I could finally get high and reliable throughput speeds when connected to any of the routers.I highly recommend it to people that are getting trouble with WiFi reception.

I have a computer in my shop, separated from the house by about 50 feet, that I use frequently; ethernet cables didn't last long, and were difficult to replace, so I installed a wireless router. Signal strength in the shed was marginal until I added the adapter in the shop; connections are now much stronger and more consistent. This is an inexpensive, remarkably effective way to extend the range of a home wireless network.

This was an easy install (used the disk, for some reason I couldn't get the downloads from their website to work). Immediately after install, I went from 1-2 bars to 3-4 with my router down a hall and with several walls in between. This was a huge upgrade; much faster download speeds, lower pings for gaming. I've had it for about a month now, working fine, no complaints. If you are frustrated with low connection speeds with a standard USB adapter, this may really do the trick.

I purchased this for a Dell desktop in the next room from the WiFi router. Worked fine out of the box, good signal and fast, but within two weeks it stopped working. It was never moved or unplugged and the PC was used maybe three times a week for an hour or two. First time it didn't work I unplugged and replugged device and it started working again, next time it stopped working and never started working again. The light was out and would not come on again. It's a mini-USB plug so I tried another identical plug just in case it was the wire. Nothing worked.I called TP-Link customer support (24/7 in the USA) twice and both times got a recording that no agent was available and that I should try again later, this at 2PM on a Friday and then 10AM on a Sunday. I am returning the item due to its non-working condition and will not replace it with another TP-Link item. I'll find something more reliable.

Eh, same problem with this one as I had with another. The disc they send, the small one, will NOT work with my Macbook Pro, which has a brand new drive, so it's def not that. After looking around on Google, no luck. Even the makers website , all I can see is the drivers for Windows. Can someone please help me out?

Like I said is very stable but if your access point is more than 100 ft just to buy an antenna is not enough, is better to get an Alfa Adapter with a directional Antenna. But this one is OK just for home usage.

The USB adapter installed very easy, the set up was very easy! I was about 75 feet from my router, which is a Linksys E4200. I found my network connected, but many was it SLOW!! I was getting 50-75% strength. So was I was trying to transfer files to this computer, it always locked up and froze. I would have to go out and reset that computer and try again. I was NEVER able to computer a batch transfer of files from the two computers, it would start and then stop about 10% into it.I just never worked right. I had to return the item...

It came right on time, it never gets hot, never drops my signal, and works over 9000 times better than my old Netgear. (that's not hyperbole, everything is thousands of times better in every meaningful way, it's more convenient because of the little USB extender, it does it's job better with a faster and more consistent connection, it even looks cooler with the sleek white finish and antenna. Also, it never gets hot.) TP Link, you guys are awesome and I'll direct every one of my family and friends to you guys for reasonably priced and well preforming wireless sticks.
