I probably just got a bad/defective item as it was working quite well the first couple of days, and then one morning it just stopped picking up any signal. I returned it for a refund. Amazon is quite good with its returns policy.

I needed an adapter to go three floors distant in my house. I relocated my office to my basement and had my old desktop two floors above. I needed a good signal booster to make this work from my wireless terminal in the basement. This unit worked excellently and I would recommend it to all.

Installed this on a Win XP Pro machine and only installed the driver..none of the included software. Let XP manage the wireless connection. All I can say is very fast and stable connection! The old Belkin USB adapter was causing lags in video streams off YouTube connecting to a Belkin N600 router. Not any more, this fixed the problem. Installation was easy and straight forward, and was up and running in just a few moments after unwrapping the package. For the price and speed you get...you can't beat it anywhere! I hope it lasts?! :)

My linksys usb wifi connector was starting to burn out on me so my friend bought me this nifty device.It works perfectly fine, decent connection, comes with usb cable, software disk included, happy with it.If you need a cheap connector that will work better than most for the price then look no further.I eventually lost it during a move and decided to buy a new one. Arrived fine just as it did the first time but oddly I experienced some problems. No matter what I did, my computer would not detect the devices input and the software itself would not either. After testing on multiple computers I came to the conclusion that it must be a production defect of some kind. I am now returning it and awaiting my refund (I will likely update on this).This doesn't pertain to the product but I would like to recommend considering either a wireless connector that plugs into a motherboard slot, or directly wiring your computer to your router to bypass all possible problems. I didn't think of either of these and I wish I knew beforehand.

Connected to Windows 7 and the router with no problems. Adapter is in the same room with the router but I can only get up to 65Mbps. Tried diffent configurations but the max is only 65Mbps. My laptop gets up to 100Mbps through the same connection so I do know what it takes. Also in windows 7, there is no utility so you can not tweak it beyond what windows will allow. A nice adapter but don't believe the 150Mbps.

Recently, I moved into new place. The landlord felt that wires in the walls were a hassle to manage, so he killed off all the internet wires and made the whole house "wireless". What luck... Especially since I am an avid online gamer (BF3, SC2 & LOL just to name a few) and use Steam & Origin to download all my games. I also like to watch youtube on 1080p without having to wait (that makes me sound spoiled...).Anyways, the description states that the TP-Link TL-WN822N is the best on their line for online gaming. At first, I was a bit skeptical - until I actually used it. I was playing BF3 with low ping and no internet lag, watching youtube on 1080p without having to wait for the buffer. Yay!I've been using the TP-Link TL-WN822N for over 3 months and have nothing but praise for the product.

I bought this to replace my alfa card. I killed the alfa's usb port probably from moving it around too much. This just came in, the installer was simple, i thought it hanged for a second, but the TP-Link adapter was up and running after that. It's working just as good as the alfa. No annoying messages at all. Working in windows 7 64bit... I just hope it lasts me a year at least...

I live in a duplex with my girlfriend and our internet access comes from the other apartment's tenant, my girlfriend's mother. In order for my PC to get internet access I needed a wireless adapter. The TP-Link TL-WN722N seemed perfect. I love that it has a high gain antenna as it allows me to fine-tune the wireless connection. The wireless router is on the bottom floor in the other apartment, and my computer is on the second floor of my apartment. I hung the antenna behind my computer desk with a Command Strip wire hook that fit very well into the "handle" of the TP-Link adapter. With the antenna pointed downwards I'm able to get three, sometimes four bars. Even though I hung it below my desk, the short USB cable is long enough to reach the top of my desk. Installation was very simple. Just put the installation disk in the CD/DVD drive and plug the wireless adapter in. I had no issues with Windows XP.If you want a simple to use, easy to install, and near top-of-the-line wireless adapter, you don't need to look any further than the TP-Link TL-WN722N 150 Mbps High Gain Wireless USB Adapter.

I bought this because it had such a high rating. When I first used it this worked great! I was able to pick up a signal no problem from just about anywhere in my house. After a couple months use though the cover kept popping off and last night three of the four pins broke off in my computer! I was not amused to say the least. I guess if you have a laptop that you never move then this is a great find but I certainly need something that will hold up better.

I received the wireless adapter yesterday and am very pleased with it thus far. It arrived two days after placing the order and was perfectly packaged. Installing the drivers took less than 3 minutes and I was online in 5 minutes. Seriously could not be any easier to set up. This was a steal at only $14. Highly recommended if you are looking for a simple USB wireless adapter.

I plugged this in and it automatically installed the necessary drivers. After a quick restart I had wireless internet without any effort at all. I have been using it for awhile now and it works wonderfully. There is one minor complaint, however. This is a USB device, so when my computer goes to sleep it shuts off the internet connection, which sucks as I sometimes download large files overnight and when my computer falls asleep it will quit the download. This can be fixed by turning off sleep mode, but I like my computer to get its rest every now and then.

I have this old Compaq Evo N610c laptop that didn't have a wireless card. As I didn't want to Spend much, I thought I'd give this little USB wireless adapter a go.Not having used anything from TP-Link before, I thought I'd give it a try at such a low price + free shipping. It works as advertised and is a 150 Mbps wireless N card regardless of what some other reviewers have stated. It connects well and transfers fast in conjunction with my NETGEAR N750 450 Mbps Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router WNDR4000 on the 2.5GHz Band. Installation is pretty straight forward and shouldn't be an issue for anyone with a little computer knowledge. I'll probably add a little velcro to mount it on the back of the monitor. Picks up other wireless routers in the neighborhood that my other wireless cards don't see. As I'm in a concrete building with massive amounts of rebar, this is pretty impressive. Most mobile phones won't even get a signal inside here. Wireless N generally doesn't do well penetrating concrete walls. G fares a little better. As I'm seeing a neighbor's wireless N router at 22dB, this device can color me impressed. Not easy to do with an IT guy of over 20 years.Keep in mind that a little wireless knowledge will help you see past some of the negative reviews that are often posted in regards to wireless devices.I'm using the adapter now to write this review.

I bought this because it got good reviews and was fairly inexpensive. I didn't realize that the Win7 64-bit drivers that TP-Link has don't work. I installed the adapter, it worked fine and then as soon as I restarted my computer I couldn't find my wireless network. It isn't a problem of signal strength, my computer just couldn't find any networks at all (I live in a very densely populated area and get close to 20 networks on my laptop). On top of all this TP-Link's customer service is the worst I have ever worked with. All they tell you to do is reinstall the drivers. When you tell them that doesn't work, they tell you to do it again.All in all I will never recommend TP-Link to a friend nor will I buy a TP-Link product again. I am sticking with Netgear.

So far, so good. This device does exactly what its supposed to do. I plugged this thing in and windows loaded the approprate drivers. I live in a basement, so getting wireless to work at full bars is a challenge to say the least. There are alot of devices that give off magnetic fields and RF signals, not to menthion the walls and the concrete foundation. Anyone concidering buying a high gain antenna need to concider where their computer is located, the walls (density of the wall, meaning concrete or dry wall) and how far away from your router you are. Keep in mind that everything in your house will effect your RF wireless signal, especially wall sockets, cordless phones and cell phones. The range on this antenna is a little lacking, but its likely your going to find that with any high gain antenna thats currently available.This is a good high gain antenna that has more then enough power to cut right through the walls just fine. I now have full bars and i'm now picking up atleast 5 of my neighbors that i never seen before. If you want a good high gain antenna, this is the one for you.

This product works great until the computer goes to sleep. When woken up, the link doesn't turn back on and I have to pull it out and reinsert for it to start working again. Setting the power management to not turn the device off did not resolve the issue.

It has very sleek hardware but that is about it. The utility program and driver come with it just not good enough. Utility program has very limited security mode you can chose. Using AES is not working no matter what I try but WEP is working. The driver is buggy. You need to do it twice even window said you have internet connection but your browser just cannot connect to the internet unless you did it again. After I install TP-Link program, my Win 7 can't shutdown successfully anymore. It crashed three times already but after I uninstalled it, system is back to normal. And, one of the review said, it will drop connection. Yeah that happen too. I also tried to update to newest driver from their web site only to make thing worse.

I was kind of confused on what I really needed to get my internet from room to room.. A friend of mine suggested one of these and I just guessed on this one.. It works fantastic altho I had some trouble installing it on my windows xp pro and it working properly it did suggest drivers fron the internet to upgrade my version of windows and then I had no problems.. It came in a box brand new and with more reasearch I found I got a hell of a deal... Great product and another happy customer!

Dell's Alienware X51 computer has a terrible internet connectivity, due to the small inner wireless adapter that is inefficient. However this wireless adapter fixed the problem. from 2 bars to complete 5 bars connectivity, 100% recommended.

Replaced another USB Wireless N Adapter that was only showing a 2-bar signal. This one boosted signal to 3 bars but not the 4 bars I expected. I can live with that minor improvement. Strangely, having the antennae pointing at the router got a better signal than when striaght up???

Well, what can I say. It worked on my Onkyo TX-NR609 7.2 Channel Network THX Certified A/V Receiver and for half the cost. I did get a USB extension cable AmazonBasics USB 2.0 A-Male to A-Female Extension Cable (3.3 Feet/1.0 Meter)in order to protect the adapter as it is quite a bit larger than the one Onkyo offers. Signal strength averages between 85% and 100%. I do have two other devices that have wifi built-in or adapter attached... Panasonic VIERA TC-P46ST30 46-Inch 1080p 600 Hz 3D Plasma HDTV, and Panasonic DMP-BDT310 Integrated-Wi-Fi 3D Blu-ray DVD Player. I've yet to have an issue with the three being close to each other. Setup was pretty easy. I selected "manual" and entered my wifi details. Within in seconds I was updating the latest firmware of the receiver.

I have an older Dell Optiplex computer (running Windows XP) that has no slot for a wireless network card. At first I was reluctant to try the USB wireless technology. But after the easy installation of this antenna on the front USB port, I am a believer. It sure beats spending half a day drilling holes in the wall and routing network cables through the house. The distance from the computer to the wireless router is in the next room of my home, but it still has to travel through two walls, and down a long hallway for the signal to get there. The computer indicates signal strength is always "very good" which seems to work fine. You also have great flexibility to rotate and aim the antenna anyway you want. I also experimented and set the computer in the location of the wireless router and ran a direct line, wired connection. Amazingly, the performance was identical, regardless of wired or wireless from the distant location. As far as I'm concerned, you can't go wrong considering the price of this item. So far it has worked flawlessly.

We recently moved to an apartment complex that provides wireless access, which meant I had to find a way to connect my wife's older HP desktop. I got my wife a netgear pci wireless card, because it was reasonably cheap and I thought a pci adaptor might be best (her machine still uses a ps2 mouse and doesn't like USB devices much although it has ports)...but she was pretty unhappy with the resulting performance! On a gamble I got her this TP Link WN822N, and we were stunned at the increase in speed and signal strength. My Acer lappy was 5x faster up and down than her desktop using the older netgear pci wireless adaptor. Now hers is 2x faster than mine (i.e. >10x improvement in average connection speed in our experience). It was trivial to set up, even on her older machine (HP with a cheap old SIS based motherboard that's no longer supported, AMD CPU, so not everything works easily). I like the utility that came with it, as does she. I wish I'd skipped the netgear pci wireless adaptor and gone straight for this as it really rocks. Now I'm jealous as her machine is much quicker to surf than my much newer laptop is. This was a very cost effective way to extend the use of an older machine into the new wireless world.

I purchased this adapter for a Foxconn SFF R40-A1 that I purchased from another site. I chose this adapter because it received high reviews, was compatible with Linux and with a big external antenna I thought it would perform well. It was readily identified by both a Puppy Linux variant and XBMC running on an Ubuntu Linux platform. Last night we streamed TV shows to it and it worked flawlessly. Our TV is in the basement and router is on the living level. I would recommend this item and would purchase again if I need another.

As a systems builder, I must say this product is a hit or miss.On some systems, it works like a charm paired with its price...pretty good.However, for some Windows 7 system, there are compatibility issues, it does work but disconnects (half a sec) once in a while. Which means a 600MB download maybe be disconnected, if you tried to leave it for an hr or so... Gamers may get DC-ed from their servers.Build quality is acceptable, nothing fantastic but nothing to complain.However, I would recommend D-Link or other brands, as the time spend to save a few dollars getting this thing is work on certain systems can be a nightmare.By the way, router & USB adapter are in a **SAME room**, in case some of you guys think about reception problems. It just DCs, not reception issue.Overall, there are better brands out there.

Wanted to like this but never got the chance. Dead on arrival. This unit is wide where it plugs in to USB. On the back of a motherboard this makes the next connection next to it unusable unless you have a very slim connector. Would like to see a revision of this with a tappered area where the USB plugs in so it doesn't crowd the other slots.

I've only had this for a few days. It works really well for the most part. I get strong a stronger signal then from the my laptop wireless card. I bought this to go into a new desktop I built. My room isn't close to the router so I bought this to see if it was an acceptable choice. So far it has been good.The only problem I have is that it seems to create really long post times for whatever reason. At first I thought it might've been all USB devices causing this long (extra 5-10 seconds on an SSD) post time but I kept everything plugged in except for this and it went back to normal.

I bought this for a 4-yr old HP ZV6000 laptop. Set-up was a breeze, and the device itself is somewhat attractive. Unfortunately, I bought into the over-hyping of this thing believing that it would extend my range beyond what my internal wi-fi antenna was capable of. No joy. This device didn't find more signals, nor did it boost the existing signals I was already able to receive. I am also grossly confused by the fact that the software shows multiple instances of a connection to one router. For example, I connected to a hotel's wi-fi knowing they have just one router. The software showed FOUR connections to the same router, each connecting at different speeds. No matter which one I clicked on, I always received a connection to the same router. Too weird.The device itself is not defective. It works, but it just doesn't work any better than my Broadcom 802.11b/g internal card. At best, I might see a small and nominal boost in signal strength, but the connection speed doesn't seem to be any better than what I had.Bottom line ~ this device DID NOT boost ability ability to receive wi-fi signals from a greater distance compared to many modern wi-fi cards and adapters that are shipped with the latest computers, nor did it significantly boost my signal strength compared to my 4-yr old laptop's original internal wi-fi antenna.Waste of money for me, but people with much older wi-fi cards or weaker wi-fi adapters may get a different result.-

I just received this and immediately installed it, turns out now I can see like 15 networks that were formerly 'invisible' with my built in wi-fi card in my laptop.The connection is great, I don't use its included software, but rather control the connections manually, but I'm sure the software could be helpful for those who are less experienced with manual configurations.I'd recommend this to friends.

I resuscitated an old laptop for some stationary light internet browsing, IM and email. I threw the latest distro of Ubuntu Linux on it but it failed to find the onboard Broadcom wireless drivers so rather than spend the eternity it would have taken to make it right, I opted to use my old Asus USB wireless adapter. Even though it is N, it was painfully slow. This was because of the antenna on the usb stick was fairly weak despite the strong signal my router is putting out. I then purchased the TP-Link product which has 2 x 3dBi plugged it in...Linux picked it up in a matter of seconds and problem resolved. Connections speeds are consistently above 130Mbps, and signal strength has jumped by about 40%.Pros: Cheap, No drivers needed for Ubuntu Linux, Outstanding antenna's, great reception, fast, works as advertised.Cons: Not as portable as a USB stick, would be a minor hassle to use with a highly mobile laptop.

I bought this for my Onkyo HT- S7409 surround sound system. It also will work for many laptops. I tried using it for my Panasonic TC-P50S30 HDTV but with no success. Not a big deal but would've been nice to know I can have my TV hooked up wirelessly rather through ethernet cable for cheap.I have a great signal using the device with a lot of credit going to the fact it has an antenna AND comes with roughly a 3' extension cable allowing you to place it higher.Overall a great price, great product.. just wish it worked with my TV!

This is the first review of a product I have ever done but I was so impressed with it that I thought I should write a review. This is a super product. The setup could not be any easier. Plug it in, insert the cd and load the drivers and you are in business. I was online in less than 5 minutes. My router is downstairs and the computer I used this on is upstairs. I have a very strong signal and surfing speed is great. The price and the ease of installation makes this a winner. Highly recommended.

Using the "inSSIDer" tool, this antenna ranked equally with the built-in antenna in my IBM Thinkpad T60 listed a -35dbm antenna signal in the same room as the top-of-the-line DLink 300 "N" class WiFi router.However outside, in my car placed this unit on the dashboard, and I was picking up signals from blocks and blocks away.I purchased a 15' USB extension cord to use this, but the signal is not strong enough for the unit to work using the extension.The cord is reasonably long enough, and the full-sized USB connector to your computer is durable given that I've already bumped this connector numerous times.Product design enhancement would be nice if the USB plug mounted flush with the grommet for the wire. The USB cable sticks out pretty rigidly before the grommet allows the cable to flex around..

It worked great for the first 5 months. One day it wouldn't connect to any access points. It could see them, but would always time out while trying to connect. Guess you get what you pay for??There is another usb wireless adapter on amazon that is around $20. I suggest getting that one instead, because it is a lot higher quality.

It was a pain to connect this to a 64bit Vista machine. Do yourself a favor and toss the disc in the trash and download the drivers from the manufacturers website. Numerous people have complained of problems with this device not establishing a connection with their access point after the computer wakes up from sleep mode...**** HOW I FIXED THE SLEEP ISSUE ****In device manager:Expand Network adaptersRight click 'TP-LINK 150Mbps Wireless Lite N Adapter'Choose PropertiesIn the Power Management tab:Uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'If that doesn't work, there may be a power setting in your BIOS or a jumper on your motherboard.
