I got this TP-Link TL-WN722N adapter since others seemed to have a good experience and the price couldn't be beat for what you are told you are getting... For starters the bright green and continually flashing light got annoying so i put tape over it since it worked well for a bit. Then I noticed that it wouldn't transfer over 54 mbps but advertised as 150 mbps. Not sure why but I let it slide by telling myself that it was good enough for the money... By the end of week one I ended up returning it due to the fact that it stopped working period. Not sure if i just happened to get the lemon of the bunch that are floating around out there but it is my experience. Device manager recognized it but had that yellow "!" symbol over it. tired re-installing the driver but didn't change anything. So to me, all in all a bad experience. I will not purchase anything else with the TP-Link logo on it.

This little thing works great. Plugged into my desktop upstairs it gives me really good wifi reception from my router downstairs. Every once in a while I have to unplug it and plug it back in, but I think that has more to do with my computer than this product.

This is a good product. A bit large and clunky looking when connected to a laptop but the USB extender cable is a nice addition and can help you put it in a discreet spot. Works with Ubuntu 11.10 out of the box. Just plug it in and you're ready to connect. Excellent signal detection and fast speeds too. Can stream HD video no problem. Internet is now faster than with the built in card my Dell Studio laptop had (before it broke on me).

Before I bought this usb adapter I tried the TP Link TL-WN722N 150 Mbps, Belkin N600 Dual-Band, Medialink Wireless N and none of them performed as the WN822N, the signal was much stronger and so far I haven't lost my connection.I also have a baby monitor that I keep next to my computer to check on my sleeping baby. When the monitor was on this was the only adapter that didn't lose signal unlike the ones I mentioned above.Another plus of this device is the price, don't waste time and money buying the more expensive adapters.Give it a try.

I actually called the company and the lady was VERY RUDE. She did not accept any responsibility for a "defective" product as she explained they were just a reseller. LOUSY ATTITUDE! I filled out the return on Amazon and I am expected to pay for return postage?? AVOID THIS COMPANY they are rip offs. The "high gain" adapter has less signal strength than my Centrino built-in adapter.

We live in an apartment and share internet with the neighbors. We bought a desktop that didn't have a wireless access card, so I bought the TP-Link adapter to hopefully get internet. Worked like a charm! I've had it plugged into my usb port for three days now, and the little bugger is still going strong! I cannot tell you how easy it was to install...just follow the directions, and in 10 minutes you're set! I tried a similar device from a big box store (cost $45) and it wouldn't even install without me hooking it up to the router (I mean, what's the point of a wireless card if you have to connect it to the router anyways?) The TP-link adapter was an amazing deal for the price and quality. 101% satisfied. :)

Works well and delivers a lot of gain, as promised. However, the latest drivers from the website were unsigned, which I find a bit amateurish. Hasn't caused any problems yet but if you're into security then be aware that you'll be installing unsigned network drivers.

Over the years, I have discovered that most USB WLAN adapter are terrible. They are usually cheaply-made and poorly-tested, which often results in overheating and instability. Most USB adapters that I have used either stop working after hours of continuous use (typically as a result of overheating) or suffer from terrible signal reception. This adapter is free from such issues, as it is both stable and has a high-gain external antenna. The included USB extension cable allowed me to position the adapter on top of my desktop tower, which is optimal for signal reception. I found installation quick and painless, with no forced bloatware from the manufacturer.Do not expect Wi-Fi miracles with this adapter, however. Wireless networks are inherently lossy, so you will not see 0% packet loss. If you want the fastest, most stable connection possible, wired is the way to go. If you must use wireless, this is the best USB adapter I have ever used, especially for under $15.One caveat for potential buyers: I have not had to contact TP-Link's technical support, so I cannot comment on that.

I bought this adapter for my Linux build, after reading the all the positive reviews, and some reviewers stating that it worked on Linux.I am running Ubuntu 11. The adapter was recognized right away and connected to internet thru my Wifi, and I was thrilled.But then the connection speed started to fluctuate wildly from 135 Mbps to 13 Mbps. And the pages took forever to load.To rule out any problem with the piece I used it on a Win 7 desktop and it worked like a charm.The manufacturer does not mention Linux as a supported platform, so no reason to take away any stars.The device works very well on Windows 7.Linux users be cautious and purchase one which is "officially" supported on Linux.May work on some other distribution of Linux, but was a no go on Ubuntu 11.

After unsuccesfully trying a PCI card, I was almost ready to throw my hands up in the air and give up. Then I saw this item, and its ability to be positioned well above my computer, as well has having two discrete antennas, and thought it was worth a try. Boy am I glad I did. I get great wireless N connections, much better than my laptop with a wireless G card in it to the same access point. Just an excellent product - and the Atheros chipset makes it Linux compatible, too. I mean on Ubuntu and Linux Mint I just had it plugged in, booted into those operating system, and "boom", there were my wireless connections available.Excellent price, too.

We used this adapter on an HP desktop we had originally purchased for video editing but have since re-purposed as our sons first 'grown-up' computer. Set-up was easy... I plugged the adapter into an open USB 2 port, popped in the mini-disc and followed the brief installation instructions. Within two minutes of opening the package I was able to connect to the internet. What is more, I believe this connection is faster than the internal antennae on our laptops. I like that I may remove the adapter easily when I want to limit my sons internet time or if I wish to borrow it to extend the range of my laptops wireless. For the money I can not recommend this highly enough.

We've got wireless USB adapters from Netgear, Cisco Linksys, Trend, and an MSI PCI card adapter. All work fairly well, sufficiently grabbing our network and occasionally they'll find another network from a neighbor. I hooked up the TP-Link WN722N and immediately had 7 networks showing! What a difference! The signal is always strong, it doesn't drop the network the way the others do, and installation was pretty simple with the supplied CD. Best $20 you'll spend on your wireless network.

Pros:-Good build quality and design-Antennae makes reception strong-Very easy to install and setup. Windows 7 automatically detects and installs the drivers. No 3rd party software needed to connect to the wifiCons:-A little chunky for laptop use. Not small as those nano sized wireless adapters, but those won't get good reception as this one

I have been running with this device for about a month now. We changed Internet providers during that time and our wireless went from "g" to "n". The TP-LINK has performed flawlessly since I first went through the easy install process. I am using it via Windows 7. From the house, it detects about a dozen networks in the neighborhood and has little trouble providing an excellent connection to our router a couple of rooms away. It would be nice if I could turn off the flashing data light. There might be a way to do it, but since I have never had to read any documentation yet I just don't know. I have been able to tune the connection by adjusting the angles of the twin antennae. That is MUCH easier than moving and twisting the device to maximize speed. This adapter never heats up like my old LinkSys did. Now, did I hear there is a new version 802.11 coming out?

I bought this to gain sensitivity to local Wi-Fi networks. This was satisfactory, but it has already been replaced by the SINMAX 300 Mpbs USB Wireless Adapter SI-7200ND with two antennas and much better sensitivity.

I was able to get this device to work with Linux kernel 3.0rc7 (happened to be what I was running) but it probably runs with earlier kernels as well. The one thing I did have to do was update the firmware. This tiny USB wireless adapter does it's job well. It's fast when I am downloading, around 1-2 Mb/s (depending on your internet connection, of course.) Seriously, it saves a lot of room because how tiny it is, so no space hog whatsoever. The only complaint I have, since buying it less than 5 months ago, is when you put your computer to sleep then reawaken it, it will lose connection. You would either have to restart the computer or just unplug and plug it back in to regain connection. Also, when you first open it, it may feel sort of cheap and loose, but that's okay considering the price. Overall, I recommend this! If it breaks, I will definitely buy a new one.

Wish I had as good an experience with this as most other people on Amazon. Only needed 30 minutes with this to decide it was not for me. Didnt work at all in the back of my (Windows 7) PC as far as getting signal. Did get great signal on a USB port on the front of my PC, but then it would stop working intermittently. So, returning the item same day...

I read some reviews of this adapter that mentioned potential problems, and others praising it's performance. When I ordered I hoped to be in the praising group. That wasn't to be. I plugged it in to a Windows 7 computer and it wasn't recognized. I swapped the cable and it still wasn't recognized. I tried other USB ports and other computers and I realized it wasn't going to come to life, no lights, no plug and play recognition. The unit was so light weight that I could almost believe that it was a simple, empty plastic box. I requested a refund and am waiting for a response from the seller.

using Win7. just plugged it in , immediately recognized & installed by system, and off we went.superb reduction in communication time for transfer of hi res photos and music.transmitting acceptably between couple of wall and floors.not sure if this is max speed as it is plugged into a usb2 port right now.good product value.

On a tip from another Amazon review, I ordered this wifi dongle for my receiver rather than the Onkyo one which several people noted problems with. It works fine. Setup was straight forward and the receiver was soon on my home network. I now have access to Internet radio, Pandora etc. without any dropout issues. Cheaper than the Onkyo item and reputably more reliable. Cool.One more thing, it comes with a USB cord so that it doesn't have to stick out the front of the receiver where it could get banged (it is larger than the Onkyo dongle). So, no need to buy an extension cable.

Purchased this for $12.99 on November 18.This is a fantastic adapter. I purchased this adapter to replace a similarly priced budget adapter and the TP-Link performs FAR better.The installation went smoothly. I use Windows 7 64-Bit Professional and Windows immediately detected the adapter and installed the drivers for me. There were no driver incompatibilities and the adapter just works.Even though I am still using a wireless G router, I receive a strong signal throughout my house. HD video streams to my Xbox without any hiccups or need for buffering.Overall I am a very satisfied with this purchase.

I was using dial up for my internet connection and finding it miserable to use because it was so slow.I bought this through Amazon about a month ago and followed the installation instructions.I immediately got a connection to an unsecured wi-fi and get "excellent" connectivity. Occasionally it drops down to merely "very good."I do not know where the wi-fi comes from: it may be from the public library several hundred yards away.My internet now operates as if I had a cable connection!Not everyone will have the luck I had, but it is worth trying.An excellent product!Chris in Oregon

My new home did not have phone drops in all the rooms. The only solution other than pulling cable into those rooms was to go wireless.We connected these to our two tower PC's in another room and followed the easy instructions and just like that we have internet connections to our PC's.WAY better than crawling around an attic and fishing cable down walls. No noticeable speed difference.

This seems to work very well, gets much better reception than my built in wifi card. This this is extremely large though, about the size of my cell phone. From the pic, I was imagining something little. Also, it get's tethered to your computer via a USB cable, so you can tuck it away or place it on the desk.

Purchased this to replace my Cisco Am10 adapter which died after about a week of use. My roommate also bought the same Am10. But has had no problems with it so, I cant speak just on my behalf. This however was only a few dollars more and so worth it. The speed is as printed 150mbps. Very good range. I'm using this for my desktop and so far has been working well. Installation also easy. Run the disk connect to the net and that's it.

This review is short and to the point: I bought this after reading a review for the Onkyo wireless adapter that pointed to this adapter as a cheaper alternative. Thanks to that reviewer, I'm able to say that this adapter works flawlessly with the Onkyo TX-NR609 receiver in my living room. I simply plugged it in, typed in my password, and was listening to Pandora through my hi fi within seconds. Half the cost of the official Onkyo adapter. The only down side is the larger footprint, but that doesn't bother me. Many thanks to the original reviewer that pointed me to this device.

I got upset when my Alfa antenna stopped working so I figured I'd go another route to choose another company. During installation the disc wouldn't work so I went online and downloaded what I needed which was easy anyways. The last wifi antenna I had turned 1 wifi far into a full 5 bars and the signal was strong. This one turned 1 signal bar into 2 signal bars and the signal is weak. It even likes to cut out every 15 to 30 minutes... Update--- Yeah on second though it wasn't even worth the price, as a matter of fact it's going to be used as target practice for this new "toy" that I'm about to get. TP-LINK will NEVER get another penny from me, the information is misleading and this antenna can't even be used as a paper weight, it's small as is as light as a feather. I'm not even going to send it back, that's how much I refuse to give them another cent of my money. There... I feel better now.

I installed this in 15 minutes on XP 32 bit.First I tried downloading the driver from the net. That didn't work so I put in the cd and opted for the driver only install and it worked.It is so good, it gets the signal from the library about 1 mile away with lots of buildings in the path. Scary. When I move it around with the included 3' cable, I get different signals from different places.I'm getting a signal as fast as ethernet from my home router (25/5).Only downside for some: probably not the easiest for the extreme novice.Made, and instructions printed in China.

yeah it was a total bitch to install this into my computer. You have put a cd to install the driver and then it took awhile to config my wireless setting. But, once it is all setup...it is AMAZING. This little thing just boost my internet speed. It really is a steroid for your internet connection. I am living in Cali so I think the house over is little smaller than midwest or east coast. But hey, I am still livin in a two story house and the router is one end of the house on the 1st floor and I am alll the way on the other end on the 2nd floor and this item still works perfectly fine. It had 7.5 -15.0 Mps before....now I have 36 Mbs to 54 Mps. And, 36 is really on a bad day usually it is on 48 Mps. For $12.00 measley dollars...this is TOTAL worth it. really happy with this purchase

I recently bought this product for a desktop computer I built without a wireless card. I needed this wireless adapter to catch the signal and send it to my PC. The instructions were so clear and simple. They included step-by-step screen captures! EVERYONE should be able to set this up in no time and the connection is amazingly fast. It's just as good as having a wireless card built-in and it connects automatically on start-up. I would highly recommend this product!

I bought this to replace an old Netgear G adapter for my desktop after also getting a wireless-n router. It gets a full signal rather than only a bar or two like the old one did and the speed increase is amazing. Installation was a breeze with the included disk.

I was considering upgrading my wifi router because I was having difficulty picking up a solid signal across a few rooms on my netbook, particularly for video streaming. This device was an incredibly cheap solution for this. Works exactly as advertised. Also great for taking on the road and picking up open networks from a half block away.

This USB adapter is strides better than the PCI card it replaced on my desktop. My router is located across the house on the other side of several walls and electronic equipment and this adapter always gives me 5/5 signal (versus getting ~3/5 signal with my Netgear PCI adapter). It was an easy install without needing a restart.I noticed someone stated that it will lose connection when the computer wakes from sleep. This does not happen to me (I always use sleep, restart maybe once per month if that). I think this may vary depending on how different motherboards handle connected USB devices in the sleep/wake cycle.

We changed our home wireless network from G to N and found that the old desktop in the farthest room from the access point would not find the network with the old wireless G adapter that we had hooked up to it. The access point is in the basement family room, the desktop is on the first floor at the end of the house. I bought this because of the reviews. It took about 5 minutes to hook up and install driver. It immediately found our network. I entered the password and was connected. I'm connecting at 3 to 4 bars with really good speed. Great and inexpensive adapter. I would recommend this product to anyone.
