I just upgraded from the WRT54GL with the tomato rom running on it. I just wanted a router with a built in gigabit switch to replace it.Anyway, the installation was quick and pretty brainless. If you have seen one router config screen, you've seen them all. DHCP static ip's by mac address, wireless setup, etc all went really smooth. The range isn't much better (possibly a tiny bit worse) than the WRT54GL. But the speeds within the range of the router are unreal, I love it.I tried setting up the media share on there using a thumb drive (just to play around with it). It works...however the setup via the webpage is terrible and difficult to understand because they dumbed it down so much. It is honestly easier and makes more sense (for me at least) to set up Samba using SWAT on linux. But if you are just looking for an all in one, router/gigabit switch/NAS, this thing does the trick.Oh and it looks cool too... that blue edge in the back actually is set up like a spoiler on the back of a car. Completely pointless to mention that aside from that it looks cool haha.

Cisco-Linksys E3000 High-Performance Wireless-N Router This device works flawlessly and installed very easily with the Cisco installation. It never goes down and the best part about it is that it has gigabit connectivity but will also connect at 10/100. The router comes equipped with a USB port for storage so now every computer connected to the network has access to a network router. The Cisco software was a breeze to use. I highly recommend this router to anyone for residential and/or business use. Another really cool feature is the parental controls are fantastic. You can block computer on your network by name, you don't have to know their MAC address. You can limit the internet usage and/or website accessibility. It simply is the best router I've ever used.

Save your money -- find a different router.I bought this unit to replace my Apple Airport Extreme's which were giving me problems. I use Cisco products in my place of work and love them...so naturally I thought that maybe Cisco had stepped into Linksys and really given these consumer products a work up that would make them EXCELLENT....WRONG.This unit is easy to setup for a novice user as all you do is plug it in and execute some software with the included CD...cross platform software is included. The software basically finds the router, sets it up, and voila..you are up and running...for this I would give it 4 stars from a novice user standpoint.Advanced Users: Once you hit the web interface of the router to make changes, the included software no longer works and you cannot customize a GUEST wireless network....its either or. VERY disappointing.Range: The main reason I got this router was the range and speed it promised...I achieved none of those results. The range was sub-par as compared to my Airport Extreme and the speed even worst. I tested the router from about 30 feet away with both a Lenovo Thinkpad and a Apple Macbook Pro. At 30 feet I would get about 100+mbits of speed which on the Airport Extreme would register at 200+...this is on N networks in the 5ghz spectrum. That alone was a problem...so I figured let me reset the thing, make sure I have the latest firmware...etc. No help...Bottom line: Yes it is easy to setup, NO it does not have great range, and once you manage the router via the web interface the included software dos not work.I am giving this 2 stars only because it is easy for the novice user and because of its physical design...other then that I have no positives for the device.

Bad bad bad surprises with this router.First - I'm an uber-techie. Thought the E3000 would give my kids' friends some easy/safe wi-fi while they were at our home.Router was dirt-simple to install. Plug it play it, go straight to the admin page.But - noticed it runs really really HOT. (Like frying-bacon hot.) Heats up the desk area where it sits. Not "normal" hot here.And - big unexplained problem with the router performance. Turn it on, hit speedtest.net, everything works fine. But after a few minutes or hours (no firm rule here), it magically slows down. Doesn't matter which port you use on the device. All slow. Unplug from the E3000, go direct into my fiber-to-the-home Internet connection, and whoosh - all the speed is still there.Back to the Cisco E3000, slows down.Normally, I get 8-10 MBit/sec. Through the device (hardwired to my workstation), I get down to 700-800 KBit/sec. A factor of 1000 speed loss. Painful.Cisco support has no clue. Lots of waiting, lots of point to hundreds of the exact same complaint. They just don't know.Yes, firmware patched to latest (12/2010), no other devices on the Lan (or wifi), simple, very fast workstation, Win7, 12Gig RAM, multi-core cpu.But - bytes dribbling across the wire.Turn router off, on. Then comes back at full speed. But slows down again - unpredictably.Lots of speculation and "black magic" solutions out on the net. Nothing (NOTHING!) from Cisco.Bad router. Buyer beware!!JDMc

After months of reliable service this thing has all of a sudden stopped working and no amount of troubleshooting will fix it. Tech support for this is a joke; very scripted and they'll force you to go through the motions of things you've already done that you know won't work, and good luck getting a repair or anything else under warranty. GARBAGE. The website also stinks and it's riddled with grammar errors. Think "outsourcing."

I connected the router to modem and a power outlet, started the setup process and what? Boom, the setup was complete in less than 5 minutes. I was having difficulty having internet in my other rooms and with this router, now I get internet in all my rooms. I just had it up and running in the last few minutes, will update my review if I find anything new. I followed two of the instructions based on other reviews:1. set up the CD and let it run ( 5 ft away from the router)2. Don't change the userid and password during the initial setup.Good luck.

I should have listened to the other bad reviews for this router and not even bothered to order it. I took it out of the box and set it up by the directions, such as they were and finding out later that a couple of steps were left out. The wired section worked, but the wireless would not connect at first and and then after two hours on the phone with tech support it would connect and then disconnect at will.I spent over two hours on the phone with tech support and after they had no luck fixing the problem they basically finally told me that I needed to upgrade my brand new, two week old, Dell Studio 1458 laptop. I then called tech support the next day and got a limited connection but could not surf anywhere on the web and could not even access my gmail account. The internet was slower than the old dial up connections. The unit also got so hot I was afraid it would start a fire.I gave up and returned it. I installed a NetGear WNDR 3700 and within 5 minutes everything worked as promised and the wireless is so fast my laptop jumped off the desk. My wireless has never been as fast and I replaced a Linksys WRT160N "premium" router which died after one year and 20 days. Linksys would not even talk to me without me paying a "small" fee ($30.00) which I don't consider small and I had three service calls on that unit in the year I had it.Goodbye Linksys and hello NetGear for speed and ease of installation. I hope Cisco listens to the consumers and fianlly makes a reliable product. I apologize for being so harsh but I feel like the E3000 was misrepresented as a "High Performance Router" and it is far from that.

I bought this gaming adapter for use with my DirecTV DVR. DirecTV's on demand service is free as long as you have an nternet connection for the DVR. I chose to use a gaming adapter because I'd prefer to use wireless than run a Ethernet line under my house. The DVR has an Ethernet port but not a wireless adapter (obviously). I chose to go with a gaming adapter as opposed to a powerline adapter to cut keep down the amount of hardware that I have plugged into outlets/surge protectors and because I like WiFi. I've heard mostly good things about he powerline assorted, so if you're worried about a WiFi issue, like signal strength, that might be a better option.The adapter was easy to setup and worked right away. I do not like the software that Cisco provides with this or heir new Routers. I found it clunky and slow, mostly because it's trying to be too user friendly. That being said I've had this for about a month and haven't had a problem. It worked right out of the box, continues to work, is small, and cost less than icwould have had to pay in a local store. I have not tried it uet for streaming video, but based on how quickly it downloads TV shows and movies can't see that being a problem. I have watched a few things that we're in mid download without a problem, but i don't count that as streaming because they had a 5 minute or more headstart.After a recent problem returning something that I bought locally I can't think of any reason to buy a product like this in person again unless you need it the same day. Amazon is easy to return to, and the lower cost easily makes up for the return shipping cost if you simply don't like the hardware.

I have a Mac Pro (2x 2.66 GHz Intel Core Duo Xeon Processors, running Snow Leopard) that wasn't built with Wi-Fi connectivity. It wasn't a problem when the computer could be hard-wired, but my current living situation puts the computer some 30 feet away from the modem and wireless router. So, unless I wanted to trip over ethernet cables on my way to the kitchen, I had to find a wireless solution. Apple's Airport Cards for the Mac Pro were spotty at best and expensive when I could find one and I don't think there's a single USB Wi-Fi dongle out there that will work with Macs (other than the Netgear 300 offering, which is buggy at best).I started reading on the net and came across this device. I was skeptical about it working with my Mac Pro because most people are using it in a multimedia application (gaming, TV, BluRay, etc.). But, Best Buy had it in stock locally so I picked one up with the promise that it could be returned if it didn't work. In the same breath, I picked up the Linksys E1000 Wireless N Router because it was on sale and I needed a new one anyway (another story entirely).I brought it home, fired up the CD for the router and within about 5 minutes or less, it had created a wireless network with a funky name and crazy password. Another 10 minutes following the on-screen prompts delivered by the CD included with the adapter (or bridge as the Best Buy tech called it) and that was connected securely as well. Finally, a 30-second wire-routing mission to get the ethernet cable from the back of the bridge to the back of my Mac Pro and I was on the internet with speeds fast enough for everything I'll ever want to do.Linksys couldn't have made the entire process any easier and my Mac Pro seems to love the connection. I've only used it briefly, but in the several minutes I spent with it, it worked beautifully. They also include the ethernet cables necessary for hooking it up which is nice.The only drawback that I could see was the lack of more ethernet ports on the back of the unit. I would have liked to see at least one more port. However, a simple 5-port switch would take care of this and allow multiple devices to jump on (for instance, you're using this in the bedroom for a TV with an ethernet connection as well as a gaming console without Wi-Fi, you'll need a switch or you'll need to switch the cable every time). A really insignificant drawback at it's very worst.Other than that, this guy gets a 5 star review from me (the E1000 Wireless N Router is really nice and compliments the bridge well).

I bought the WET610N in February, 2010 to wirelessly connect my Directv HD DVR for Directv Cinema downloads. I had a terrible time getting this working. All seemed to go fine until I tried to download and Directv would alert there was no internet connection. After many hours, I just gave up and put the Adapter on the shelf. I recently replaced my rather ancient D-Link wireless router, having served me well for many years, with Cisco-Linksys E4200. Also a fine selection, I should add. With the E4200 installed, I plugged in the WET610N adapter, and I would say that within 2 minutes I was watching a downloaded video. The setup process was incredibly simple,clear, and efficient and I am very happy with the adapter. My point in writing this review, following reading many negative reviews describing similar problems I encoutered setting up the WET610N, were solved in a few minutes when synchronizing with a router, a router with a corporate relationship.

Initially I would have rated this router much higher but since I have owned it since October, I have had nothing but problems with it.Had very high hopes for this router. On paper it was I needed to stream HD content throughout my house and provide a network connection to my WD HD TV LIVE HD streamer.Pros:Dual band 2.4ghz/5ghzEasy setup,N band gigabitCons:my wireless network would quit working several times a week and need to be rebooted from the web interface.When I would cold boot (with the on/off switch) the router or if got unplugged it would lose ALL of its settings and need to be totally reset up (port forward settings, wireless setup, username/password, etc...)It gave me the dreaded flashing power button and died only two and half months after purchasing it. This problem could not be fixed.I followed the instructions to unbrick the router and nothing would work. I was not even upgrading the firmware (Which is a known cause of bricking these units). I was being used normally and all of the sudden died. Upon calling tech support, I was offered a refurbished unit (which is selling for $100.00 on Amazon), after I just paid $179.00 for a brand new one. Plus I have to pay the shipping to send it back.Hate to say this but I will certainly not being anything else from this company in the future. I stopped purchasing Linksys products because there were very unreliable and buggy. When Cisco came into the picture I decided to give them another shot.Use this review as your warning... same crappy equipment different packaging and name on the packaging. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ROUTER.Google flashing power button + E3000 and see that this is not an isolated incident.

This router is worth the cost. Initial setup is so easy. Once connected to internet, you can easily setup to 2.4ghz, 5 GHz and Guest with different user-id and passwords. The security setting is all done automatically and you can easily change it if you want. Make sure to go to admin tab on web to do firmware upgrade. Wireless speed is really fast. Try using the Knowledge base. It has detailed explanations for novice users also.

I went through 2 of these before giving up when they stopped offering tech support without charging for it. Both the units (the one I purchased and the one they sent me to replace it) worked fine for the first 2 months but then the signal they put out would start dropping out and get worse and worse until they were basically unusable. Utterly useless and given that Cisco don't stand behind these products, evidently even they think they make crap products. Their Indian tech support was horrible as well.

Using this adapter on a Dell XPS Studio desktop.I chose to download the drivers from cisco's website and allow windows 7 to install the drivers. It was immediately recognized by the system after installation and has been working perfectly with good signal and data throughput.

Used to connect a DirecTV TiVO THR20 box to an existing linksys WAP54G wireless network. Configuration was fairly straightforward but found configuring the device by logging directly into it much faster than using the PC based software provided. It's been working for about a week now with no issues downloading content from DirecTV and viewing pictues or playing music from other networked devices over the LAN.

I have repalced my e4200v1 with this new model.I have two xboxes and a ps3 connected to it.The new model V-2 when I'm hosting a 18 player game on COD black ops it runs super smooth with no lag at all.THE V-1 had some slowdown during the game while hosting.Both models work well and I can say that the new processor in the V-2 is handling the load with ease,you'll be very happy if you pick one up.

E3000 paired with Linksys WET610N Bridge, desktop PC (wired) and laptop (wired/wireless by "G" and WET610N).Can be wall mounted but power cord on brick is only about 60 inches, so you cannot get "height".Update firmware from 1.0.0.1 to latest version otherwise some changes in router setting will not be saved, such as new WMM settings. Latest firmware adds WPA2 Enterprise to router and addresses "save settings" software bug.As other reviewers found out, you should initially use the CD setup disk. It will assign you a name and password, and change the name and password if you use the CD setup disk again. If you wish to disable the quest account it can only be done using the CD and not the 192.168.1.1 web access screen. If you have already changed your name/password or setup the router via the 192.168.1.1 web access screen and use the CD setup disk, it will change your name/password.Signal strength of the 5G is about 60% of the 2.4G.This unit does run hot. Maybe not hotter than my older WRT54GS but the older unit has vastly better ventilation with more cooling holes in TOP cover. Overheating problems experienced by owners of the E3000 seem to cause wireless disconnects many times a session. It must be a hardware problem as the new firmware does not address problem. I purchased the E3000 to upgrade the wireless network to the "N" standard as I do a lot of Netflix video streaming. Problem is a recurring disconnect/connect issue with the router in both G and N using both Auto and assigned channels. Issue persists when using Mixed, G only, or N only networks. I do not have this wireless disconnect problem with two older Linksys "G" routers. This router case design needs better ventilation instead of looking cool and slick. Wired connections are as should be, wireless connection is "iffy" due to E3000 problems. On other forums Linksys tech support recommends E3000 not be left on 24/7. I really doubt that will solve heat related issues, my router is not on 24/7.

I have a number of wireless routers over the past 10 years. I really like the Linsys for their capability (range and configuration) but there was always reliability issues. The longest a Linksys router has lasted for me has been 2 years, which may actually be good. But this router failed within the first 4 months. THe problem it has and many of the Linsys routers in the last year is that it gets set to reboot mode and cannot get out of it. I tired resetting and worked with their (Cisco's)outsourced tech support in the Philipines, and they couldn't get it fixed. The result was they set up to send me a replacement for free. Well, it wasn't free. I had to pay the shipping, which took over a week when they said it would take 2 days. Then the replacement failed within the first week. I had to pay to ship both units back to them out of my own pocket to get a 2nd replacement. After $60 in shipping, I decided to give up and went with a Net Gear, which has proven to be very reilable. Ever since Cisco bought Linsys it has been down hill. I have read about it and hear about it from others. Their consumer products are inferior to other options in the market. I will avoid Linksys goign forward.

This router was the worst purchase I have made in a long time. I paid almost full price for it several months ago and have regretted it everyday after the first week. I have to reset it at least once a day everyday and often more than once a night. In order to keep it running, I have to have a desktop fan pointed directly at it or it quickly overheats. Right now the room is at 71 degrees and I have had to reset it 3 times in the last hour.

I don't know what to say about installation of this router. After reading all the reviews about how inadequate the instructions are, I bought it anyway as the reviewers were doing complicated things I didn't want to do.So I followed Cisco Connect and the router couldn't connect to the internet. The error message told me to reset the modem. When that didn't work, the error message told me to click "need more help," which gave me a link to the Linksys website. Duh!Not only that, but the CD contained the FAQ document, but when I went to get the user guide, duh, it tried to take me to the website.In all this I noticed a light blinking on the modem and called the cable guy. The light was ok, but he reset the modem and gave me a number to call Linksys. I was preparing to do so, and when I looked at the screen again it said "Internet connected."So was this an easy setup or a hard one? It took all day and left me confused about what I had.As for functionality, we have better security, faster speed, and much better range. I walked down to my brother's house 4 houses away and was able to get to the internet. The device looks good,but the case has a super glossy surface that is an uber-dust-magnet, so much so that when I tried to wipe the dust off it just moved around.

I purchased this device to connect to my LG 32LD550 32-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Internet Applicationswhich was purchased at Costco on clearance. This was a GREAT purchase btw, and the price on Amazon has since dropped. This device easily replaces the LG AN-WF100 Wi-Fi USB Adaptor which was suggested for the tv and never worked for me.I use a D-Link DIR-655 Extreme N Gigabit Wireless Routerthat is excellent for broadcasting to every room in our house except for our master bedroom. We have an older block house, with our bedroom being farthest from the omni-directional antennas. Honestly, we have tried everything to get this TV to work in our bedroom!I tried initially just to use the LG Wireless Adapter, then I bought an extension for it, and then I tried installing a new antenna (Alfa 9dBi SMA OMNI-Directional High-Gain Screw-On Swivel Antenna for Linksys - WET54G, WET54GS, WMP54G, WET11, WRV54G, WMP11 PCI Card, WPS11, WRT54GC also for Netgear - FM114P, FVM318, FWG114P, MA311, ME101, ME103, WG302, WG311 and WG311T) but that never really helped. Finally I found heaven in a box with this little device. It's compatible with my Draft N protocol and it zips right through all LG's online resources, specially helping us watch movies and TV shows on Netflix without any broadcasting or synchronizing or downloading issues.I highly recommend you save your money and buy this device! It was easy for me to setup and we were watching Netflix within minutes...

Hi, i buoght this from futureshop, but it's the same E3000. There seems to be some problems with it. When I am downloading files, it automatically disconnect and reconnect again.. Anyone knows how to solve it? I already update the latest firmware and reset like a million times. But no luck. Please help me out if you know what the problem is. Thanks alot

Perhaps the other 5 star reviews haven't used this long enough. Trust me, you are better off to just spend the 20-30 extra dollars for a better wireless adapter. Mine will cut out, and not cut back in constantly, I've literally reverted to just using my cell phone as the modem because this thing is so inconsistant and since my cell phone works I know it isn't my router. It will stay connected perfect for about 2 days and on the third it will cut out and i'll have to unplug it and plug it in several times and restart my computer just to get internet again. Sometimes, I have to reinstall the software just to get it to kick back on.You get what you pay for.

Even within 10-15 feet I couldn't get throughput of more than 6.5 MB - and that's if I was lucky. Can't even stream Pandora reliably.

I read all of the reviews and honed in the the mention of heat and blue led lights. I actually purchased another router(Belkin 600) and returned it after two days because the set up with Win7 was a pain in the neck. More importantly, the tech support was terrible. The tech just gave up after about 3 minutes. I decided to give Cisco a try because I've had two of their routers that worked flawlessly previously. I live on the coast and the climate is moderate. I have not noticed any excessive heat. I have three computers and a sling box adapter connected to it. The blue led lights remind me of the Christmas led lights,by nature, they are bright, but I do not have the router in my bedroom, so it's a non-issue. I contacted tech support regarding the guest router setting and the tech answered my questions within 3 minutes and send me a copy of our chat.I am very happy with my purchase and trust the Cisco brand.

After losing the WRT300N to power surge, switched to a Comcast provided Netgear WRN1000 which was absolutely a nightmare with drop signals. After two days, I researched and bought this top of the line Linksys. It's a dream to use. We have a large house and signal to our downstair masters is normally 1 bar, and required a range extender. Download speed was at best 2Mbps, now with E4200, it's nearly 20Mbps!!! And this speed is retained throughout the house! It's amazing consider the router is upstairs inside a room. The plug in speed at Comcast modem is 26Mbps down and 4Mbps up. E4200 retains about 20Mbps/3Mbps throughout the 6000SF house, even in the back patio. This is absolutely the best router out there. I am donating the range extenders tomorrow, as I won't ever need them again. It felt so good to have high speed WIFI, instead of trying to point my laptop for the best signal strength. Great to have my time back from waiting for things to load.

I'm in the same boat as another reviewer. I replaced my router with a Linksys AE2500, bought a new modem (Motorola Surfboard SB6120) and purchased a Linksys AE2500 adapter for my wife's computer upstairs. Everything about the setup is rock-solid except this AE1200.Intermittent connectivity issues. Unplugging and replugging fixes the issue, but this adapter just isn't worth the hassle. I would also note that I'm running Windows 7 (32bit) on a fresh install and the computer is only 10 feet from the adapter. There shouldn't be any issues.Spend the extra money for the AE2500. I'm having no issues with that.

I had an experience similar to several reviews I've seen. The bridge just wouldn't maintain a connection to the router; not even to get through initial setup. I spent some two hours on the phone with exceptionally helpful Cisco/Linksys support and they finally gave up, concluding that the unit was defective. Based on the product serial number they also believe the unit I received from J&R was an rather old one that had been on the shelves for quite some time. As I was repackaging the device for return, I noticed some small scratches on it and I'm suspicious it might have been used previously. I'm returning the device but after paying for shipping and a restocking fee it's pretty much a complete loss of the purchase price. Not more purchases from J&R for me.

I bought this to use with my D-Link DIR-815 dual band router. This adapter is advertised as a selectable bridge - so you should be able to choose if you want to connect to a 2.4 GHz network or a 5 GHz network. It connected well to my 2.4 GHz network using WPS, but couldn't even see my 5 GHz network. I spent about 2 hours on the phone with customer service asking them how I select the 5 GHz network, but you just can't do it. It's not really selectable - it just defaults to one frequency or the other. It was easy to install but not compatable with the 5 GHz band on my router. I bought a DLINK bridge instead, and it works great with my 5 GHz network. It is much faster.Here's my advice: This product may work for you if you use a CISCO router or use only a 2.4 GHz network. But if you have a DLINK router or want to run a 5 GHz network, DON'T BUY THIS. Buy the DLINK DAP-1522 instead.

We got this unit because it would "talk" to our Sony Bravia TV via our Linksys E2000 router so we could watch internet/streaming television. Setup was easy and straight forward. I used the included software setup CD although from what I have read, a lot of folks don't bother with the CD. The written documentation is clear and concise. Setup and install went without a hitch. We did find that at peak hours, our ISP does not deliver the bandwidth to watch Netflix movies, but that is NOT the fault of the bridge. The unit is small and unobtrusive, showing 3-4 small blue indicator lights when operating, but these are not distracting and the unit could be hidden out of sight if preferred. I checked 'reliablity' with 0 stars as I have no idea what the reliability/longevity will be.However, we had a Linksys WRT54g router that worked it's butt off for the past 5+ years with NO problems.We have never had a problem with a Linksys product. All-in-all,easy to setup and operate. I would recommend this product to a friend.

This product was incredibly easy to set up and configure. Insert the CD, follow the on-screen prompts and your router will be set up in less than 5 minutes. It even creates a default SSID and Password. It took me longer to think of the SSID and Passwords for the main and guest accounts than it did to actually set it up. All devices linked to the new network (including new SSID/Password) with minimal configuration - that includes multiple laptops, multiple hard-wired PCs, a Verizon Wireless Network Extender, a printer, Wii and Tivo. The Tivo took me a little longer because the Wireless-N device for the Tivo is fussy.... until I realized that they had tried to make it easy for me. Once I realized that I could push a button on the Cisco E3000 and then push a matching button on the Tivo Wireless Device, they then synched up to each other with no further action required on my part.Ease of setup garners 5+ stars for this product. Range is good in a 2,800 square foot home including my home office upstairs opposite side of the house, and Tivo in the basement. I love that devices can connect at both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz on the same router.

Bought this Cisco 3000e thinking get the top unit and i'll be ok. Installing the router was easy. Ran from the CD CISCO CONNECT software. Pretty easy. My old Dell D810 with a Intel Wifi chip connected easy. my IPad, iPhone, and ITouch were easy. My HP wireless InkJet printer was a snap. But, and here is the but. My Compaq Presario 770US laptop has a Atheros wifi chip. Well, I found out that there is a major conflict with Atheros wifi chips and all Cisco wireless routers. Tried everything, driver update to on line chat with Cisco tech support. No luck couldn't connect the Compaq. So I had to go out and buy a Cisco 1000E USB network unit. It installed in te Compaq in a snap and I get blazing speeds from the wi-fi connection. but it cost me another $50. Now, I am going out to but a wireless HP laser jet color printer. I hope it installs to the network like the old inkjet. By the way I also installed a IPCamera wirelessly with this router so I can spy on my dog from anywhere with my iPhone. The Foscam IPcamera was one of the most difficult installs I ever did since I been around computer and networks, greater than 27 years. But I got it done and it works like a charm.

this worked great when we got our blu-ray player (a sony)... then after about 4 months, it constantly loses the connection and we have to reset it using the computer. NOthing else in the house loses the connection, and after reading other forums and such, we aren't the only ones having this issue. Customer service says it's a network issue, but I have no other issues with the network, so I'm about ready to chuck this out he window and update it with another brand... I paid way more than the price is listed on the site now, and am thoroughly unhappy with the product I received.

I have owned an E3000 for over a year and this router has numerous problems. Most notably the router slows down your internet speed over time. The problem is temporarily resolved if you turn the router off then turn it back on again, but over time the internet connection slows down again. If given enough time (3 or 4 days) my internet will slow from 10MB/s to 1MB/s. I can isolate the issue to this router by running a speed test online and then comparing the results to the speed of my internet connection if I plug my computer directly into my cable modem. If you want to find more just do an internet search of "E3000 is slow" and you find hundreds of forums discussing this waste of money router.

This device works perfect with newest firmware. I use heavy traffic with many gameing machines and have it directly connected to a switch. Sometimes it dumped the network so I put a small usb cheap laptop cooler underneath it to pull away hot air and it has been stable for months. I had it set to maximum performance as a additional note on N wireless.The original firmware was so slow and I was testing this thing non stop different settings was a nightmare... thankyou Linksys for the speed firmware update!!!!Still using this unit for what seems like forever in tech years. I would never want to replace this adapter it works like a bull, strong like Ox!!! lol

I purchased the Cisco E3000 a year ago. After setup, it performs great, but then it starts to drop the Wi-Fi connection shortly afterwards. It takes some tweaking, rebooting and reconnecting to get this POS to perform as it should, but it is quite unreliable.After a 9-month hiatus, my roommate and I changed broadband providers and chose AT&T U-Serve, which comes with its own wireless router, which works on the b/g band. We added the Cisco E3000 router to it, and, as before, it performed fine...until yesterday, when it started to drop the Wi-Fi connection, and today too. After disconnecting this crappy Cisco POS, and reconnecting it after 30 seconds, the Wi-Fi connected fine. Let's hope it holds.I paid $150 for this stupid router. I wouldn't pay more than $60 if it were new. Cisco, you ripped me off.

I had this adaptor for a while. It worked perfect on my att dsl modem. When I switched to att uverse internet (2wire the modem) it stop working. For some reason WET610n doesn't link with the 2WIRE. I tried to call technical support, but they want to charge around $50 to look into this problem (and i read from another guy form that he had the same problem, but technical support couldn't fix his problem!), so I decided to cut them off. I'll not buy their products anymore!update: i managed to make it work. They had an update(finaly). After I installed it, I managed to make it work after 2 hours of work. Now it works with no problems. Buy it just in case you have to do it. Very hard to install and make it work with 2wire. At least it was hard for me, it might be something wrong with my modem./

If you are buying this router because, like me, you were assured that the USB port on the back of the router could be used to make a printer a network printer, forget it. The only thing that USB port is good for is a hard drive or some entertainment system stuff.I purchased my router at Micro Center in Westbury, NY because I was told by the store staff that the USB port would work to hook up a printer and make it a network printer, that nothing else was required. Apparently that store's staff doesn't know their product, but that's an issue I will take up with them.So I went to the Cisco on-line tech support chat. And the person I got there went through his little script, and suggested every kind of "fix" he could see, even though nothing worked. Apparently Cisco's tech support people are not aware of the attributes of their own products.Repeated e-mails to Cisco keeps getting me the same boilerplate canned answers that I should go to their website for answers. The same website that sends me to the e-mail site for an answer to my questions. Sort of an extended loop.The design is poor, the tech support is abysmal, and obviously I can't configure it to do what I need.Now of course I'll have to go and buy a printer server, which I was assured in the store I would not need.Don't waste your money on this.

This product is great for bridging your ethernet ready products. I have not had it long but it functions according to spec. Installation was not easy. DO NOT FOLLOW PRODUCT GUIDE!! The setup says to connect this product to the router for the install but by doing that when it comes to the wireless part, the router wouldn't connect it wirelessly because it was already hardwired to the router!! You must connect this to the laptop as in the amazon video guide and setup that way following amazons video guide.Also this device refuses to recognise one of my older netgear routers that I use as a wireless repeater. Maybe the old router is too old but its annoying as its a long way back to the main router so my signal strength is only 1%. Wonder if it will stay connected with that? Fortunately I use it to make a printer wireless so speed is not important.I would imagine that using this device close to a newish router would be ideal and give good results for streaming.Update: Used for 10 months now and have finally given up on it. It has a poor reception and is difficult to connect to the router and often drops connection. I bought the new Netgear 900Mbps router and this just wouldn't work well with it so I bought the Netgear WNCE3001 bridge which does the same thing as this bridge but connected perfectly with no issues.

This router has excellent range and seems to be much faster than my previous wireless-N router. I like the gigabit lan, but I only have couple minor criticisms: It doesn't seem to support jumbo frames (No biggie for me, but maybe for some others who want to squeeze out a few more Kbps), and it would be nice to have DD-WRT for those of us who like more of an enterprise class feature set. For the average home user, the Cisco setup wizard and simpler interface makes this a good choice. I like the look of it as well. Others have commented that it runs hot, although I have not noticed that at all. I run Trendnet Gigabit NICS on every PC in my network and this thing autonegotiates at full 1Gbps without a hitch.UPDATE 9/13/11: The router is now supported by DD-WRT. Definitely flash it. I noticed a marked difference in performance, and the radio signal strength can be tweaked with the open-source firmware. I concur with those who have pointed out that the unit slows down and has to be rebooted in order to get back to normal speed. The simple fix is to disable UPnP. Problem solved. The router now stays fast, and has excellent range.

I bought the access point since our cable modem connection is in a office room and needed to connect to our HDTV SONY XBR in our family room. I already have a Linksys WRT160N router(160mbps rating) since about 2 years old, the whole system setup with the CD ROM took about 15 minutes to get going. Probably one of the easiest setups of any electronics products I have done in the last couple of years. We got rid of the standard NetFlix account and now using the wireless service only. No problems with the streaming video at all. I'm very happy how Cisco has pulled of the ease of the integration of their products.As a side note: with the Linksys WRT160N router I get a consistent 130-144 Mbps on both laptops that have Intel wireless cards. One is running Vista and the other is running Windows 7 as well as to our HDTV. Linksys now has the newer 2000 and 3000 series that get 300Mbps capability so I would think that those routers work even better.

Hook up was pretty easy though the cd did no work. Performance is good. Reason I bought this to gain extra coverage for portions of the house where I had issues and this does do the cut perfectly.

This wireless adapter is great and it's not just for gaming. I'm a contract IT service provider and I use these things a lot. I use them to take a standard network printer and make it wireless so I can locate it in more convenient places (power outlets are much more plentiful than data jacks). I can also connect it to a small switch and get an instant network extension. The best part is once you have it configured it doesn't matter what you plug into it. You can switch devices at will and move them anywhere. Set up is a bit of a pain and I suggest skipping the automatic setup and configuring it manually, giving it a static IP just so you can keep track of it, especially if you use more than one. This new WET610 form factor is pretty but I prefer the older WGA600 form because it was a flat, square box that I could use a bit of double-sided tape to stick to the side of a printer or on a wall. Much neater. This new form can only stand on a table top. Overall, these adapters are stable, fast and easy to use. Makes my life simpler.

This is a great product, but the two bands don't work as expected. There is a slight delay when doing request. Gaming the same. When both bands are used, like facebook open and gaming, you will see that the delay increases a little bit.

I purchased this for the main purpose of restricting internet access during specific time and day and it works great!I consider myself a intermediate at networking. I've set up a lot for other people and I have to sayThis is the EASIEST Wireless Router I have ever tried!. 1. Connect Internet Modem cable to router. 2. Put in CD-ROM 3. let it run and auto detect. 4. DONE and connected wirelessly!Other routers are so confusing with all these technical terms and I don't bother touching them in fear that it will do something crazy!. This router has a simple easy to use User-Friendly Interface. It will not show you those technical features. (it does have advance setting) but if you are a beginner or don't want the hassle using the simple menu works just as fine!It will provide you network password so you can write it down and pass it on to another computer to connect.It has a Guest account you can turn off and onWhy have Guest account? Guests can only access the internet. they will not be able to access your network setting period! you don't want to give password to anyone.It has parental control. That is why I bought it. You can setup to allow internet access/deny at your preferences. You can also type in a website addresses you want access denied.My brother stays up late on the internet sometimes and always go onto facebook so I blocked facebook.It also has USB in the back. This USB allow you to plug in a USB Storage and share it along the network.I store photos on USB drives and it can be access from any computer.I have windows xp and I connected a flash drive to the back, I went into "my network Places" and click on E3000 which will be there. Type in "Admin" for both USER and PASSWORD and was be able to access the files instantly! For info on Vista and Windows 7 setup Please refer to the cd-rom for user guideline. I have Windows Xp so I am telling you my own experience.
