Used setup wizard to do initial install, but wireless network not found as expected. So had to get into the manual setup of the wireless and could not easily locate the location to set WEP, as it was "hidden" in a pulldown. Found it on the second attempt to install. Installer did run slow, a few minutes between functions, but eventually did work just fine. Had to re-run the setup after a new wireless-N router was installed with WPA2. The "pushbutton" function of WPA2 did not work and had to manually enter a 24 char password. It worked though and is running perfectly with a 4-port Ethernet router installed behind it, running 3 other devices. The only gotcha for me is that the devices behind the bridge cannot resolve DNS addresses, which means that I have to use an explicit IP address to connect to my shared printer on the other side of the bridge. But that is not the fault of the bridge.

I never had to deal with Linksys customer support. Being decent with routers and stuff (A+ certified) I found this very easy to install. The increased speed and reliable connection make the extra bucks worth this over a USB wireless adapter. I think the Linksys Advisor software and Network Magic software are great - especially for novices and people not comfortable with installations. I've read negatives about Cisco/Linksys equipment and I'm sure those are valid complaints. But this is the 4th piece of networking equipment I've bought from Cisco/Linksys and my experience has been nothing but positive except for a single issue I had updating the router firmware -(See my review on the WRT310N router).

Linksys by Cisco Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming and Video AdapterI found this extremely hard to install and it would not get to Know my wireless router also by linksys. I was online with tech support for 5 hours trying to figure it out. My computer which was adaptable would not take the disc. Once I finally got it going, it runs great with my blu-ray, and I would recommend this product to anyone. I hope you have better luck installing it than I did. I love it!

I bought this wireless adapter for use with a Sony Blu Ray player, the BDP-N460, and I'm using a Linksys WRT610N router. Installation softwrae for the WRT610N router (not this device) worked great although for the WET610N the installation software crashed. I had read a previous review here that indicated the Sony BDP-N460 can configure the Wireless bridge for you and the author of that review was right, it worked great!!!We're watching Men In Black now on instant Netflix, works great and aside from the install software issues this is well worth the money.

I bought this unit to use with my Blue-ray player so i could stream Netflix through it. It was the best option for me and it works great! the only issue i see with it is having to reboot it because it will lose connection sometimes but its not enough for me to worry about because it get a great connection and it streams Netflix perfect and I didn't have to hard wire and can move it around if I need to. It was worth the purchase and works great with my G router.

The important points...1. If you are a Mac owner, this product cannot be configured with either the provided disk or the software from their website. Spent well over an hour but still couldn't get it to stop locking up.2. After 45 minutes on the phone, we finally got the stupid thing to blink the right lights but Linksys refused to help any further because I have a D-Link router. They passed me to their Premium support without telling me that it was an outside company that charges. These fine folks hung-up on me when I asked to be transferred back to Linksys.3. Bad software. Bad support. A formerly decent company that has gone down the tubes, Linksys has made an enemy of me for life.

I purchased this product to stream Netflix to my LG blu-ray dvd player, but going from 1st floor to 2nd floor where the DSL modem and wireless router were located wasn't getting enough throughput for Netflix to work (YouTube worked, but doesn't require as much signal strength). I would say it's a good product. Set up was relatively simple. It just depends on what you're using it for. If you're streaming video, you need a wired connection for best results.

Picked this unit up today, hoping to link an older Apple (iBook) to my Airport Extreme, WPA2 encrypted network. Other reviews cover some of the frustrations, but suffice it to say: don't purchase this unit expecting it to work with an Airport Extreme. I'm starting to understand Linksys' poor support of Mac hardware and will be dropping Linksys from my household network as I upgrade other components. And yes, I AM a rocket scientist ... but don't have patience for lengthy, manual, trial & error setup processes that in the end are fruitless. Life is too short ...

Already having a LinkSys home network made the installation of this product easier than it would have been. If you are running Windows 7, the setup software that pre-configures the device with your network will not work. In lieu of that, I had to search the LinkSys support website for information on how to install this product. There are special instructions on how to use the device with a Sony BluRay player. Once I found that document, it was simple to install. I can now access my Netflix instant watch queue using my Sony BluRay player.

I cannot get it to recognize my router key, altho I have 4 other computers, game consoles wirelessly routed, it says the key is wrong. I have reentered it 1,000 times, the ppl on the linksys help phone are stupid.

Was hoping to use this with my Sony BDP-N460 Blu-ray player. Never could get it configured with my wireless system. Cisco / Linksys tech support (assuming you ever get to them) was of no help (and I'm fairly computer literate). Wasted 1/2 day of my life trying to get this to work before giving up. My advice: Buy a Blu-ray player with built-in wireless or plan to connect the player via an ethernet cable (that's what I'm doing - just need to drill a few holes in my walls). Not recommended.

It configures fine and runs fine initially (Hulu looks fantastic), but leave it unplugged or unused for a few days, and it can no longer connect to the web. All the lights are flashing, indicating that it is connected to the network, and I can access its configuration page, but my Sony Bravia can't connect to the Internet. I basically have to refresh the configuration to get it working for another brief interval. The firmware update (.03) did not fix the problem. I used to be a Linksys diehard from the good ol' 802.11b days (my BEFW11 ran rock solid for years) but between their abandonment of the WRT600N and now this unreliable bridge, I'm done with them.

I purchased this bridge to make my new Sony TV wireless so I could access the online content. It does work, but when I don't use it and it sits for about a day, the internet light goes off, and the connection is lost. I try to push the reset button, but that doesn't seem to work, so I just unplug it and plug it back in. I have only had to disconnect from the TV and take it back to the router once; this activity basically repeats the initial setup. I just leave it unplugged until I need it. I actually started using my PS3 as a media center, so I may not need this bridge. When it works, it works great. No loss of signal when connected, and the streaming content works great. I only have a wireless g router, so no issues there. My router is about 30 feet away, with two or three walls in between. It would be nice if it had more connection points, otherwise I'm satisfied.

Installation and setup was a pain,, the enclosed CD did not work, I called Cisco and spent over 1 hour on the phone with a tech support rep that even took remote access of my computer and still could not get it to work. Next day I called my Internet provider, AT&T and a tech rep from there got the Cisco to work, even though it was not a internet connection issue. Once it got to working, it is working ok,

A Linksys wireless-n gaming adapter that would not connect wirelessly to a linksys-n router. The hour spent with tech support went nowhere and ended with the tech assistant sounding baffled and disconnecting the phone call. Although tech support asked for my phone number (in case we get disconnected)I never received a return call fron them.The final word for Linksys' equiptment and support- USLESS

Like others, I cannot get this bridge to reliably connect to my Mac Airport network. It will drop the connection periodically (from 30 seconds to an hour) and has to be rebooted to re-connect. Written support: minimal, not helpful. Web support: read about others having the same problem and not being able to fix it. Web Troubleshooting: nonexistant. Phone support: Got through once, barely spoke english, put me on hold and never came back on line. Next call I listened to a recording for 15 minutes and hung up. Avoid this like the plague.

When I first got this, it would drop the settings about once a week and I would have to set it up all over again. Very frustrating. Once I updated the firmware, though, I haven't had a single problem. Speed seems to be pretty good (I use it for a G network for now). I would recommend not bothering with the installion CD and just following the manual setup instructions, though.

It is not worth the money because my Blu-ray Sony should have been wireless instead of wireless-ready but.....this Linksys wireless bridge works very well and easy to set up, contrary to what I've read before purchasing.It is small enough to hide and my router is not a Linksys. I recommend it without hessitation.

I bought this product to link my wireless network to my new Sony BluRay DVD that is Netflix ready. It does the job superbly. It was easy to set up and is completely dependable. Combining the three items - the wireless network, the BluRay, and this wireless adapter with Netflix (or a variety of other online video sources) allows for a great selection of programming in SD and HD.

Used this when running another Cat-5 Cable was not an option as my router was full. Used it to hook up my Panasonic Blu-R equipped audio system. Set up was not the easiest but that could have been me. Works like I wanted it. Able to upgrade the software on the unit and utilize the Viera system to sign up for movie rentals and music.

i bought this to improve the internet video streaming capability to my PS3. the router i started with was a d-link dgl4500. the 4500 worked fine streaming to the 4 computers on the network but would not maintain connection with the PS3. i tried all types of configurations. my thought was that the PS3 and the dgl4500 did not like each other via wireless so i bought the wet610n to connect to the PS3 and would stream to it. no luck, this configuration didnt change a thing. the PS3 would constantly lose connection. in desperation i got out my old trusty d-link dgl4300. this model always held connection well with the PS3 but didnt stream fast enough without the bridge to stream video well. WALAAAAA! the d-link 4300 and the linksys wet610n bridge connected to the PS3 just works. i now can stream joost and other websites without glitches. my only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 was the setup was a bit buggy, requiring 2 or 3 attempts and a computer restart before it would see the router. not bad just be aware.

In all the years I've used Linksys products I have never had such a BAD experience. This product is defective on many levels and anyone buying it should be warned. If you have ANY desire to use this on the N-BAND - DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. 4-5 hours with tech support at Linksys on level 1 and 2 and even their managers and it it was all for nothing but a GREAT waste of time. IN the end the most senior tech told me that they know there are issues. Run don't walk away from this product the WET610N is a bad as they come.

Exactly what I needed to get my Blu ray player on line to access netflix. Interfaced with linksys WRT160n (see my review). Configured using supplied cd. Worked immdiately.Bought it through Amazon but was supplied by UnbeatableSale. Had to pay shipping. Ordered in in the morning, received it next the next afternoon (Okay, it shipped from Dallas and I live in Houston, but still).

The setup is not straight forward. It forces you to use the CD to configure, however, the auto configuration did not work, and I used manual configuration to setup the security configuration. Granted I made it more difficult because I had MAC filtering enabled on my router and forgot to allow the bridge in. So basically you need to understand wireless security and take control.Secondly, WPA does not support AES, and WPA2 AES did not work with my router, while my other wireless devices did. Conclusion, there is a limitation/bug on the bridge.Finally, the device seems abnormally warm. My application is to attach it to a Sling Catcher to stream video. The video performance is great when I tested it.I need to see how it handles over the span of a week, but for now I am keeping it. There are limited choices out there.

This product took more set-up than advertised.Also, after 2 weeks the unit lost its connection with my wireless router.Between the initial set-up support and the lost connection support, I've spent 5 hours with Linksys' IT support trying to get me back on line. They said the unit can be very "sensitive" ... aka ... lose it's connection. When it works, it's really cool for downloading streaming video to my Sony TV from Netflix. Hopefully, the connection will now be stable going forward.

I got this router to hookup my desktop computer to a wireless signal. I had two special complications: first of all I am running a Linux distribution so I can't use any setup wizards and also I do not have access to the physical router (I live in a dorm and am accessing the campus wireless). While the directions included in the box seem to say that one NEEDS to connect to the router to the wireless bridge for setup, after a little playing around I found that it is possible to do all the setup without such nonsense even with a wireless network using a WPA2 key and MAC filtering.Once I finally figured out how to get the unit connected it has been working fine and gets about the same signal and speed that my laptop wireless card gets from the same location; though I should note that I am using a 802.11g network and not the more advanced 802.11n for which this unit is capable of receiving. The incomplete directions are the only place where the product lost a star for me.

I purchased this to connect my large screen TV to the internet. It works well for streaming videos and movies. The only problem so far is that the internet connection sometimes slows and there may be gaps in the program as the system re-buffers. After two years, the unit suddenly failed and had to be replaced.

I followed the instrcutions and tried the bridging with my cisco router. It stopped midway and failed setup. I tried a 2nd time and it reset my router and I had to re set my router again.I wanted to use it as a hub for my new Sony TV but not the worth the money paid for it.I am going to try a 2nd time and it fails again I am going to return it.

The Linksys Wireless adapter works exactly as promised. It is super easy to setup and works great. I have been using it for a couple weeks and it works like my TV is hooked up to a cable. I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing a wireless adapter.

Linksys by Cisco WET610N Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge with Dual-BandThis product describes itself as "working with...Macintosh...computers". In a sense it does, but the installation disc is not MAC-readable, as i found when I tried it. I called their tech support line, and spent quite a bit of time with someone who put me through a lot of steps, then told me that it would work only if I paid more money to get support on the older router (also Linksys, a 'G' standard model) to change its settings.I declined, re-read the written materials, and decided to borrow a wireless laptop with XP. I inserted the installation disc, followed it along, and now it seems to be working OK.In my view, the disc is needed if you are only moderately literate, like me. I think Linksys misrepresents the product's suitability, at least w/o a MAC-readable disc. The tech said she didn't know why MACs couldn't read the disc--not helpful, ultimately, tho' she did really try.

I loaded this bridge as the directions said but it did not pick up my wireless modem at first, i had to reset to factory default and then it recognized my wireless modem. I am streaming netflix on the LG blueray 370 it shows the movies with excellent quality, i am very pleased. I would recomend this item to anyone streaming netflix or conecting another computer in your house that is not wi-fi capable.

Bought this to connect to an LG Blue-ray player. Setup started with about 3 hours of me trying to set up myself with no success. The Setup Wizard DVD was useless. Finally spent about an hour on the phone with Linksys tech support and got it hooked up. Works as well as can be expected, but setting it up was difficult and not intuitive unless you're quite knowledgeable with networking.

I have a Panasonic Viera Plasma TV (which I like VERY much, by the way). Since it's internet-capable, I wanted to connect it to my wireless network. Though the TV claims to be "wireless ready," that only means it recognizes the protocols, and NOT that it has a built-in wireless adapter (it does not!). Anyway, it does have a built-in ethernet adapter, so it can be connected by wire to a wireless router. In my case, the router is in a different room, so I needed another way of connecting it to the network, which is where the wireless bridge comes in. This Linksys wireless bridge does the job just fine, and in my case, with the addition of an inexpensive ethernet hub, connects both my TV and an internet-capable BlueRay player to my wireless network. Warning: the setup process is a bit on the complicated side (NOT for the faint-hearted).

I'm using this with the Linksys WRT610N to stream Data and Standard Def. Video to the TV on the other side of my office. I had to play with some of the advanced settings initially, but once I got it dialed in, I haven't had any problems with it. The only other downside that I have found is that it takes a ridiculously long time to reboot itself once you've made changes in the settings and save them. I would say for setup I would give it 3.5-4 Stars but overall I would give it 4.5-5 Stars because once it's setup the quality is great and it's pretty rock solid.

It was pretty easy to set up and worked right away, but I'm a little dissappointed with the signal quality. Compared to a few laptops I use in the same room, it doesn't seem to have as good an antennae as the signal strenth is not as good.

I bought two units to connect two old PC's to my home wireless network. After following the instructions and using their software - which failed twice with two different brand new PC's that I just bought - I went to the PDF manual to find help. I found the instructions for manually connecting the device but was never able to get the device to function properly. To this day they sit on my shelf as paperweights, simply useless. Which reminds me, one is still in the box and wrapped - I need to find out how to return it!

If you are using this on a TV satellite receiver, don't use the provided computer disk and instructions. Go directly to the TV device and follow the instructions. I used the disk first and ended up calling for a Linksys tech to help me. $9, but worth it. This would also apply to the new bluray players that use it. Very nice unit.
