Router has been in operation for a month - fixed all problems with dropped internet connections and interference with other household appliances which plagued former Dlink system. Besides entering the static IP configuration for my service provider, I used the supplied 'auto' setup procedure which was very easy; wrote the setup configuration to a flash drive and had all my systems (2 desktop PCs, 4 laptop PCs and 1 Macbook) online within an hour. Connecting a PS3 only required it to rescan for the wireless network and enter the new wireless security key. Since I didn't have any problems with setup, this review may be too informative; even the name selected for the local network SSID fit my locale.

Overall good product that provides a wireless bridge. I had issues configuring the device to link a LAN enabled printer because it wasn't clear what IP had to be specified to each device (bridge & printer). Once I figured it out, then all was good. I feel the product is worth the money, but wish it had a stronger antenna.

This thing may work if your router is also from Cisco. The customer service rep in India was rude and impatient. I bought it from Amazon because the closest retail store is 50 minutes away. I probably wasted about 5 hours of my life trying to get this thing to work. Eventually I just ran an ethernet cable.

Plus - benefits of a wired networkMinus - only one ethernet port which needs for you to buy a multi port switch (if you need to use more than one port)I purchased three of these for my house. One for my TV with built in Netflix/Amazon app, for my remote laptop in the other room, and then a desktop PC in another room. Instead of each device/computer connecting wirelessly, this bridge does all the work connecting wirelessly while my TV/PC's all benefit from a wired set up.Its a bit of an investment folks but trust me, you'll never think about your home network again once you have this all in place. Hands down the one of the absolute best set ups out there.(Paired with the E3000)

Settled on this WET610N after trying a Belkin USB unit. The Belkin software was buggy and only sometimes loaded. Yes, this unit is a little pricey but it does work well once set up. No problems after a month.I was streaming Netflix over a Linksys wireless-G with no problems and none so far with the WET610N.Default setup through CD worked fine, but if you filter your MAC addresses on your wireless network you better enter the WET610N MAC address into your wireless router first before starting the setup progress. If you do not do this first the setup will "see" your wireless router but the MAC filter will prevent any access to router so you will be unable to sync up. This is not clearly mentioned in the setup. Remember, change the default password and disable the SSID broadcast. Now sit back and enjoy.

This bridge adaptor was just what I needed to connect my DirecTV to the internet. It's the same one recommended and sold by DirecTV but the price was a lot better since it was refurbished. I buy refurbished all the time, sometimes I think those items have been checked out in ways new stuff hasn't. My only installation problem was coordinating the receiver through the adaptor to the router since I had to match up the IP addresses and wasn't sure what I was doing. It took the better part of a morning but I got it and it's worked great since. Now I just need to upgrade my old Trendnet from G to N in order to get the most out of all my wireless network.

Purchased the item this week, just spent about 15 minutes setting it up to my husbands computer to make it wireless (not technical at all). This got rid of a lot of cables and cords under his desk. And it works perfectly. I'm glad my son-in-law convinced me to purchase this item. THANKS GABE!!! Now will return the modem back to my internet provider.

I bought this router to help extend the wireless signal in our home (to help our iPads), not because I needed new features or a new router. It seems to have accomplished this, but not as much as I would have hoped.One issue I have is about once a week I start to get exactly half the speed I should get with my ISP. A reboot of the router fixes this every time. I would be curious if anyone else has this issue or maybe I have a bad router. I have 3 other linksys routers and none of them have ever or currently exhibit this.Cisco's support page is horribly lacking.

Bought this to replace an older Linksys wireless router. Set up was done in under 5 minutes for all wireless devices in the home (7) without a glitch. Only problem is my wireless HP printer which decides to drop its settings occasionally. Not a Linksys issue...

The product is ok for computors although it's range is about one half what I expected from the research I did. For streaming other apps like netflix or pandora it is somewhat problematic and disapointing in speed and performance especially considering I have a 16 gig isp connection.

The WET610N works great...if you have the old Wireless G router, it's time to upgrade if you want to purchase this wireless N bridge...otherwise you're not using it to it's full potential. I purchased this for the DVRs in my home. I haven't had any drops like I've had in the past with my Wireless G bridges. I've even been able to use this to view television shows that were recorded in my living from my bedroom. The connection is not always stable though, given the amount of data transmitting between the two machines. But for general downloads of channels/content, it's great. It's also great for connecting to a Blu-Ray player or gaming device that doesn't have built in wireless. I've been able to view shows from amazon.com or other online content my Blu-Ray device supports at a good rate of speed. This is the less expensive route/alternative to wiring the entire house with CAT 5 or 6 cables.Two days ago, I just moved this device into my cabinet, along with all my components, and it is still picking up the wireless feed. I've noticed that the signal strengh for the 2.4g is stronger than the 5g. So I selected the 2.4g for the bridges / video streaming.

I ordered one, intending to replace a 5 year old linksys wrt54g. It turns out my old router had (marginally) better wifi range and coverage, so i'm returning this. That dealbreaker aside, the router comes with more features (ftp, media server, file server, etc) and probably gives better throughput when you are in range of its signal. I wish Linksys would also include an external antenna connector so those of us with difficult wifi environments can use their equipment.

If I were to do it over again, I would spring for the netgear home theater wireless system. This thing is very fickle. I've had to reset and reconfigure it twice because it stopped working. It will not run on my Sony Bravia TV at all, but works on my playstation. Setting it up is not easy. I couldn't get the cd to run properly and had to manually go into the file to access the proper set up program. Because it only has one port, I can't run multiple devices off it. The streaming quality is just OK. My wireless is some distance away and I run Playon's software on my computer (Windows Vista) to stream live content off the internet - hulu, netflix, youtube and numerous other scripts. That is really cool and I suggest checking it out. So in the end, I would seriously give netgear's device a good looking over before I bought this.OK - This is junk. This is the third time I have had to reconfigure this thing. It sucks.

I purchased a Linksys WET610N to use to connect my new Sony Bravia KDL-40Z5100 TV to the internet. I use a wireless router to connect two computers very successfully to the internet. Since the TV is located in a room away from the router I needed a remote connection. Sony recommended a wireless bridge in their TV manual, so I went that route with the Linksys WET610N.I very carefully followed the setup instructions for the bridge, and ran the setup program on the included DVD as instructed. All went well until I reached the point where it was looking for the wireless network. It couln'd find it. I tried a number of times and gave up. I decided not to wrestle with the manual setup.Fortunately, I found a suggestion in these reviews to try the NETGEAR Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter kit. I did that, and it works perfectly. It uses the house wiring system to transmit the signal, It consists of two little electronics boxes, each with two prongs for plugging into a wall socket. I used the ethernet cables, provided, to connect the boxes to my router and to my TV. That was it. Connected and fully functional. No setup, no problem.My recommendation? Use the NETGEAR Powerline kit. It's more expensive, but worth it.

Although some features seem like an improvement from previous Cisco products, there is a major flaw in the user interfaces that makes me wonder why Cisco released the product before it is ready. The software provided, Cisco Connect, can access certain settings but not all (for example, having it doesn't let you have configuration password different from the user access password). The web interface doesn't have access to all the settings either (e.g., guest access). Cisco doesn't have a solution for this (yet?) so I can't recommend this product to anyone who wants to use the product's many features. It is very frustrating to set up, unless you like it as is from the box, and there is no solution to many situations.Buyer beware!

I followed the setup CD and the unit configured as planned. I logged on to my router and permanently assigned it a number. I then plugged it into my Direct TV HD DVR and it works like a charm. It has only about 50% signal strength but operates between 36 to 54mbps connection. I only wish it had two Ethernet outs!

I bought a Sony BDP-N460 Blu-Ray disc player that can play Netflix and needed a bridge to go wireless because the TV is located in another room than the Internet connection. I opened the box, followed the instructions and it was an easy installation. I was talking with my finacee about the day while I set it up and within about 15 minutes we were selecting movies on demand in Netflix and sat down and watched a few films. The quality was excellent and I thought there would be some skipping, but there wasn't. It was like playing a DVD! I also noticed that the YouTube videos were better quality (no skipping either) than watching directly on my laptop, so this product does an excellent job of streaming videos when used with the Sony BDP-N460 Blu-Ray disc player.I don't know what combo you'll be using, but with what we were watching it with it was better than I expected!

Easy install and setup. Works great with other systems and helps setup other computers on your network by creating and using a USB key.Setting up the internet bridge was a little tricky but that has to do more with the provider than it does with the router. Straight forward controls.

I bought and returned this router. When it works it is great, but..... as you may have read in other reviews it starts off fine then slows and eventually disconnects wireless service. I spent too much time on the phone with tech support and finally was told this was a "known issue". I returned it. Buyer beware.Aloha,John

I have a new Sony Bravia XBR9. I have ATT U-verse for my internet & TV. I bought this bridge to connect my TV to the internet. I ran the installation disc as the paperwork instructed. First, my network was not detected by the software. So, I turned off my firewall. My network was detected. Then I hooked the bridge to my router as directed. Error 107 device not detected. Then I went to the Linksys site. After lots of poking around there, found under support, under WET610N, under downloads, that the bridge can hook up directly to the Bravia without using the installation disk on the computer. So........ I hooked it up to the TV and after a couple of tries the Bravia found the bridge, found the network, but had no internet connection. Got on live chat with Cisco support. They advised to try to hook it up to my computer to configure. Tried that - failure. Then tried to chat again and got dropped by the Cisco help support person. Tried support again and had an almost 2 hour chat with a very helpful fellow. But ultimately no success. After going into IP configurations, router information, and all sorts of things my grown daughter had to find (and she works in support herself at a different company) the thing is a no go. Except that it's going to be returned. Oh, and I do have a wireless laptop connected, no problem. PS3 connected by the TV, no problem, and even a wireless internet radio connected, no problem. Why is this rocket science?

In the past, I had a Linksys WRT54GX will alot of success. But, the spectrum band was getting crowded and I was waiting for "the next version" dual band simultaneous Linksys router. I'm glad I waited for the E3000. Half of my six computers use the N band while the other half use the G band. It works well with my wireless HP printer. It was easy to setup. I'm enjoying the enhanced throughput of 120-160 Mbps. I have no recommendations for the E3000 at this time.

Very simple with flash with DD-WRT, now it's a super router. Dual band is great however make sure your wireless N devices are 5gHz before expecting to use this router's wireless N capabilities. Many of them are actually 2.4gHz, which this router doesn't broadcast in, for N anyways.Overall extremely happy!

This bridge, although shown in the blu-ray operations manual, does NOT work with the Blu-Ray DVD. Linksys support will charge a fee for technical help. Took it back to get my money back. Not worth it.

I purchased this bridge in anticipation of delivery of my new Panasonic TC-P50G20 plasma. This television comes with a handful of internet apps pre-loaded with more expected over the next few months. My problem is that my cable modem is upstairs and the new plasma is downstairs. Picked up this device to gain internet connectivity for the plasma. Installation was an absolute breeze. Just ran the installation CD and a few clicks later I was ready to go. Plugged it in to my television and my apps were up and running. I've read a few reviews where people said they've had to reset their device, but I haven't had that issue at all. It's been running flawlessly since the configuration and installation. I recommend this device for anyone trying to wireless run internet to a similar television like mine.

I purchased this device to connect my Samsung BlueRay 1600 player to my internet. I tried the Samsung Linkstik, but due to the position in my house and the inflexibility of the Linkstik, my connection kept dropping. I connected the Cisco bridge via a wireless connection to my NetGear 300n router and presto, no problems and downloaded movies began immediately from Netflix.My only reason for the downgrade from 5 to 4 is that none of the documentation that I saw stated that it could only run one device through the bridge. I find that to be rather ridiculous for the price. At least two to four ethernet connections should have been enabled for $95. So my downgrade is related to the price for function rather than anything wrong with the device.

Fast and easy setup. Fast download speeds for email, web pages, web video, and web TV. I have not set up printer or other peripherals. This was my first experience with a home wireless router, so I cannot compare with any other wireless routers. Works anywhere in my brick house and outside on back deck. I agree with Jerry L. Bobo II "06GSXR1000", the bottom of router gets very hot. I plan on trying his idea of using rubber stoppers soon.

After many attempts to get the router to work, and many conversations with Linksys Tech's, I finally talked with a tech that seemed to know what he was doing and he said there was a problem with unit and send it back. I did send unit back, didn't request a new one and promptly received a credit from Amazon and am well pleased with their service. Would recommend Amazon but would not recommend Cisco products. Have had trouble with every item I have tried."Problem may be mine - this may be too advanced."

This is one of the good Wireless Bridge available in the market now. Its working fine for me.You can configure the Bridge via your CD. Just put the CD in the drive and flow the instructions.orManual configuration.First reset your Bridge, Reset button is located back side of the bridge. Press and hold 30 seconds and release.1. Change your computer IP Address to either : 169.254.1.1 or 169.254.5.62. Click on the Subnet Mask below, the number will disply automatically there, other wise type : 255.255.0.03. Apply, OK4. Connect Date Cable from computer to Bridge.5. Connect Bridge electrical power to the wall6. Open your Internet Explorer7. Type on the address bar : 169.254.1.2508. The new page will open there, click on the wireless and change your settings. You can also Update you Firmware on the same page.9. I added this adapter to my existing Linksys wireless-N network. After configuring it to communicate with my router I placed it in another building approximately 150 feet away and connected it via ethernet to a Mac. The Mac immediately picked up an IP address and I was off and running - haven't looked back. It's been up for a month with no problems at all.

I got this directly from Direct TV, but I'm wondering if there is a better one that can connect more than one component. Both my receiver and Blue Ray player have ethernet port in back, and it would be great to connect them as well. I guess I could get some sort of switch, but one device would be better of course.

This the 2nd WET610N i've tried to connect to a E3000 router. Both have failed. The first I tried Linksys support (what a disaster) they finally said return it as there probably was a hardware error in the unit. I was hopeful the second unit would work but no such luck, this behaved exactly as the first. Do not buy this unit it is a load of junk.

My network is controlled by a Linksys wireless N router, a WRT610N. It offers 2 simultaneous bands, 2.4 and 5.0I wanted the PCs and the Printer on 2.4, and the Bridge, which is streaming video from the net to a Sony Bravia internet link on 5.0The PCs and printer were up and running when I installed the bridge, and the TV was getting its video stream from the router via an ethernet cable (a very long one).Using the Linksys Bridge Wizard was very straightforward. I did the setup in the room where our PCs and the Router reside. Even proceeding very deliberately,that only took 10 minutes, including connecting the Bridge to the 5.0 band.Then I moved the Bridge to the room with the TV and the Bravia internet link, connected the link to the bridge with a medium length ethernet cable, and bingo, wireless video streaming.We have been running wireless for a week or so now, no problems of any kind. We normally watch High Def movies from Amazon Video on Demand, and the quality is quite good, with no signs of "hesitation" in the images.

I wanted to have a wireless solution to drive a BluRay player on the other side of the house from my Belkin Pre-N router/switch this device did the trick.I purchased a Blu Ray player from Costco that had a RJ45 jack in the back and offered features such as YouTube and Picasa photos over the web. I didn't want to run wires from my Belkin pre-n router switch to the living room. This seamed like the least expensive solution to me and it did the trick. The step by step setup worked without flaw.The unit comes with an RJ45 cable that linked the device to my Blu Ray player. Plug in the power cable and you are up and running wireless 802.11n. Perfect.

This unit is very intuitive to set up; I was able to get it up and running well under 10 minutes. I get very fast throughput in terms of streaming video and music. My only gripe is that it doesn't have an on/off button; I have to pull the plug out in order to take it off or reset. If you know that you will not need to take the unit off from time to time, of course, this is not a problem. But I use this to stream content wirelessly on my network, so I don't want the unit on when not in use. Overall though, I am quite satisfied with my purchase.

I got the dual-band adapter about a month and a half ago and waited to write my review because I wanted to be sure of the reliability of the product. Literally, you set it up, and it works. Set up is very easy, you simply connect the device to your router and it picks up the network information and so forth. If your wireless network router is also Linksys the setup is even easier.The only negative I have found is that if for some reason you lose your settings, you have to disconnect the adapter from its connection and take it back to the home wireless router to reconfigure. There's no 'remote' access to the unit. This is the only reason I don't give it 4 stars because I've already had to do this, which requires disconnecting it from the back of your TV, disconnecting the power (which may be behind an entertainment center or some other not so easy location) for reconfiguring.

This does not work with any advanced gaming. It gets to much information to process and shuts down every 5 to 10 minutes. It said it would work with newer games but is a total piece of junk. It probably would work with office type tranfer of numbers and letters but gaming is not happening.I returned to Co. a month ago and am still waiting for a refund.

I was given the Sony BDP - N460 as a Christmas present. We did then find out that it was not WIFI capable, but needed to purchase the Cisco/Linksys wireless bridge WER610N. We wanted to use Netflix streaming movies, and the Sony model that is wifi capable is not Netflix approved.Anyway, we purchased this unit even after reading all the problems people have had setting this unit up.Do Not Worry if you want to pair this with the Sony Bluray player. No need to even use the supplied start up cd as the software in the bluray player does all necessary steps to set it up. Plug the unit in and connect via ethernet cable ( supplied) and then just go to Settings, Internet Connection and select Wireless Bridge Setup. The player will guide you through the rest of the steps. We were done in less than 10 minutes streaming movies from Netflix.BTW the start up CD now seems to work with Mac OSX which was a concern for many previous posters.I think Sony/Cisco/Linksys finally got this right.

I have owned other Linksys wireless routers and always found them difficult to setup. The helps here in Amazon reviews were the only way to get them to work right. Now with the E3000 router setup was very easy and quick. I was really impressed with the ease of installation and configuration. In only a matter of minutes I was able to setup the router and connect my iPod Touch and iPad to the WWW. I would recommend this router to anyone seeking to add WiFi at home. Setting up a secure connection was also very easy.

This router installed just great with no effort. The range is excellent. When I was experiencing difficulty getting my new wireless blue ray player through the router onto the internet, I called Tech Support. What a joke! Rude and helpless. Linksys Tech Support blamed it all on LG. I finally was successful with the router by speaking to LG Tech Support.

Has a known firmware isssue where it will corrupt certain TCP packets (Google for "wet610n tcp checksum" for more details). This causes all sorts of network connectivity issues, making the unit unusable. Until Linksys issues a fix for the firmware, avoid this unit like the plague!

I bought the Linksys WET610N to connect my Sony BDP-N460 Blu-ray player to the internet and specifically Netflix.I tried to set up the device using the manual and CD that came with it. This was a complete waste of time because the final result was to tell me the device could not be found and I should contact my supplier. I then tried to set it up manually by accessing the web interface of the device directly. This was not fruitful; I still couldn't get it to connect to my network. Finally, in desperation I simply plugged the damn thing into my Blu-ray player and went to the set-up menu. I followed the on-screen prompts and was connected in minutes.Now that it is working, I must say it is brilliant. But the setup??? As a certified Mac addict, this is not the first time I have been a victim of the Microsoft hegemony. Linksys is one of those companies which barely acknowledge that Mac users exist. Linksys hardware is good but Mac users are strictly on their own when it comes to set-up and support.

Went to the Linksy E3000 for the dual range. I am fairly conversant with computers (BSEE). Using the CD for setup, I recieved the message "we didn't find your router" 4 hrs later I went on Linksy chat line and was told "this is a known issue we will have tech support phone you within 4 business days" Never heard from them and will never buy another item of their junk.

I purchased this because I didn't like how the USB wireless adapter I was previously using had to load it's software before I would get a connection. This would cause some of the programs that I load on Windows startup to give an error message about not having an internet connection unless they loaded after the USB adapter software. I decided to get a bridge because once it gets connected, your computer accesses the internet as if it were plugged in to the wired ethernet. I'm using this with the Linkysys WRN610N dual band router.Setup on this device was easy. I simply did a quick google search to find out it's default IP address and then opened my web browser and connected. I entered my network information and then rebooted the adapter. I then moved it to where I was going to place it and hooked it up and checked the wireless network list in the configuration page to make sure I was getting an ok signal. thats all I had to do and now it works great.It's signal strength is okay, but I think it should probably be better. My laptop certainly gets a much better signal from the router when placed in the exact same location. given the size of the antennas in the laptop compared to this small device I'm not surprised. One thing I should note is that you can connect to either a 5Ghz network or a 2.4Ghz network, but it cannot be configured to use one band and then fall back to the other if the signal gets weak. this would be a nice feature to have.The LED's on the front tell you what you need to know and aren't too bright or annoying like my old adapter was with a super bright blue flashing LED.I gave this four stars because the built in web interface does not have any help page that explains the options like my WRN610 router does. The included electronic manual also does not have very good explanations either. Also I think the signal strength could be better. However, it works like it should, gets decent speeds, and wasn't difficult for me to set up so I do recommend it.

Product worked perfectly after setup right out of the box. Instructions were very good. This is a must have if you like free movies from Directv. Directv does not give much away for free so take advantage of this offer. I saved over $20 purchasing this product through Amazon vs Directv. I've downloaded enough movies from Directv to pay for the product already.
