Works great with my Cisco-linksus wireless router. Have it attached to a switch in my office with three PC's on the switch and none have difficulty with their internet connection. It was a bit more complicated to setup than I expected. Being tech savvy, I was fine, but I suspect some might have serious difficulty trying to get it configured.

I bought this item simply to stream netflix through my PS3 and for 2 laptops and 1 printer in a nut shell support was very bad, item never worked as it should I held on to it to long and ate the $150 dollars I paid, I then bought a netgear 3400 and its worked perfect, better than the e3000 ever did with no set up hassel. I had my ps3 hard wired to the e 3000 router and it would still drop it off the ethernet with DSN error and not connected to ethernet, Cisco support wanted me to pay for port numbers for the ps3 (kind of common don't ya think?)why wouldn't it come with this anyway? I got them from ps3 at no cost but it still didn't help anything. Linksys support said change this change that ect...nothing worked and couldn't even understand the first rep. I talked too. Just one bad unit? I don't think so lots of others with issues on this router. My recommendation is Netgear WNR3400 Dual band, and run from linksys I hope they just go away.

Pretty decent out of the box for novice user who's interested in zero customization. Guest access is an interesting idea to provide controlled wi-fi to your guests (or neighbors). Very set it and forget it for the most part. Cisco Connect provides simple interface for most basic of functions. However, if you need (or just want!) to customize settings, names, router login/password then Cisco Connect goes away. Unfortunately, that seems to mean you lose ability to manage guest access password. Tech support, not surprising, consists of resetting router to factory settings and then learn to love Cisco Connect.My router lost all settings after about 3 months, but fairly straightforward to recover (given above limitations).Range is pretty decent; delivers full video 50' through several walls while supporting Wii, PS3 and three computers.I don't know if I'd get myself another one, but good enough for non-techs like mom!

Had this for about 6 months and finally replaced it with the Netgear N600 Dual Band. I am MUCH happier - better range, better connectivity, much easier setup vs. the Cisco\Linksys.The Cisco had pretty poor range on the Wireless-N 5 GHZ setting. I also had connectivity issues with an iPad, new Dell PC and iPhone.The software for the Cisco was terrible especially if you need to use the advanced function. I had the Netgear up and running in about 15 minutes total, with my port forwarding settings and two wifi networks (I did not run the included software, but just connected to the browser interface).On the Cisco the guest network was enabled by default when using their software. As other posters have mentioned you can't turn it off through the "advanced" browser interface. On the Netgear it was off by default (the sensible way to do it).In summary, buy at your own risk and YMMV based on other reviews. I recommend the Netgear N600.

Try to use the software for installation right out of the box, but gave me an error message. So, I gave up, and used browser for installation via control panel instead. Found the device, leave user name blank and type in admin as password, similar to all Linksys products. Voila, it works after the first try. What amaze me is the range of 5GH, which is pretty good in my house where the Netgear wndr4000 router is located in library, and the device is located in the family room, 50 to 60ft away at the min. So far so good, I haven't experienced any drop signal yet. Great product with decent speed and range.

After seeing the failed registration message around 190 times today as I did everything I could think of to set this up, I will bundle it up and toss it. Unfortunately I bought it a while ago so the century note is gone.

I've only had this unit about a month so far. (02/2011) Set-up was much easier than my WRT-54G. Range is improved, and speed is much better. Seemed like the model 54 was slowing down, which I don't understand??? This unit has had no issues, so I didn't give the highest marks for support, although I have used their support before on another install and found them very helpful. I intend to add a backup drive to the router, so will have more opinions when I get that working. The only frustration I have has been in hooking up a printer that uses a print server. It appears I will have to lug all 40 pounds of printer and server up to the router for initial setup. My other printer with built in wifi worked great and was super simple to connect. Their connection wizard is great!

Just got it as an upgrade to a wireless G router.Setup: - Setup was a snap. Don't know about other people, and their setup issues, but the setup went quickly and smoothly. Took about 5 minutes to hook it up and another 5 minutes to get my computer (WinXP) on the network. - Within 10 minutes, I had my daughter's MacBookPro and my 2 Kindles also on the network.Use and Performance: - Much faster. Browsing is noticably quicker. - VPN access to the network at work also noticably faster. - Signal strength is excellent throughout the house. Much better than with my old router (with its ugly antennas). The sleek look is a plus. - The software is quite good. For simple access, the Connect application is easy and handy, and for more detailed access, you can get the browser-based setup and control application which gives you tons of controlOverall, very satisfied.

It took me a while to solve this problem and Linksys is of little support. I have an extensive home network with multiple PC's (wired and wireless) Media connected TV, Network drives, Tivo's and other connected items. After install all PC's could connect wired or wirelessly to the Internet but when I viewed my local network nothing showed up. No shares. Symptoms were different on XP, Vista and W7 PC's. After trying several things I decode to rename my workgroup on each PC' After renaming the workgroup to a new name on each PC everything worked. So if you have a home network with file and print sharing watch out for this setup problem.

I purchased this product so that I would be able to have ON DEMAND access with a DirectTV HD/DVR receiver. I noticed that this is the same product you would get if you ordered it from DirectTV directly, but it's cheaper from AMAZON, because of the free shipping. I had some difficulty getting it to work at first, which is why I only gave it a 4-star rating. During the initial setup, even though I could see my wireless network in the list to select from, and I did select it, the installation did not complete without error. It was only after I selected the box indicating that I didn't see my network, and then entered the information manually, that the procedure went through completely. Since then, it has worked like a charm.I wish I could say that it was worth the effort. The programming that is available for download for free is not at all impressive. But that has nothing to do with the hardware, of course.

I bought two of these at the suggestion of Cisco to use with my Cisco Valet Plus so my kids could play their video games in their rooms. Neither one has been reliable, constant problems not working almost once a week for the four months since we got them. Finally Cicso admits the bridges are bad but they won't give us the RMA number they require for a return, so we can't even send them back for exchange. We have spent hours and hours and days and days on the phone with supervisors trying to get the situation resolved but they just pass the buck and don't follow through with their promises. Having the names of the people we spoke to means nothing, having all the documentation means nothing and having bought them from Amazon.com is no help either now because it is over 45 days since we bought them so Amazon says too bad. STAY AWAY FROM CISCO AND THEIR SUBSIDIARIES INCLUING LYNKSYS!!

I purchased a Cisco router and print server several years ago and was very happy with the product and the service. I wanted to upgrade that router, so bought the e3000. When I installed the e3000, I could not get it to communicate with my existing Cisco print server. I tried Cisco customer support, but they refused to help because they said the print server was out of warranty. That seems silly. The issue is the communication with the new router, not a warranty claim on the old print server. The print server works fine; it was working an hour earlier when I disconnected my old router. I needed help with the new product, but Cisco refused to provide it on a brand new, relatively expensive router.I'm the first to admit that the product probably works great and just needs a minor technical adjustment. That's why tech support is important. Very disappointed.

Cisco-Linksys WET610N Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming and Video AdapterDoing anything with a network can be a real nightmare. This was probably the easiest network installation I've ever experienced. Just insert the CD, plug the device into your router, wait for it to set itself up, select a password, then go plug it in to whatever you want to connect to your network. (I hooked up my Dish TV box.) Completely painless. I was streaming Dish content in less than 15 minutes total.

First off the positives: It's a great router, the simultaneous bands makes a nice improvement over older routers. Seems reliable to boot. All the rest of the good stuff seems clearly covered in other reviews so I thought I'd mention my key issues.This was the most difficult router to set up that I've ever dealt with. Why? For whatever reason the Cisco Connect software just wouldn't work right on my computer, it kept getting to the part where it wanted to repair the internet and just staying there despite my internet connection being fine throughout. Why can I not skip this part and continue on with the setup? Eventually I just did it the old manual way after giving up on the software.There is also a disparity between the Cisco Connect software and the router's webpage interface (or advanced setup). There are some features (guest network, parental controls) only accessable from the Cisco Connect software. This was a problem for me because I can't use the Cisco Connect software and as a result can't set up a guest network. Just seems rather stupid, for lack of a better word, that all the features aren't accessable through the "advanced mode". Hopefully Linksys/Cisco will fix this in a firmware update.Also important is that if you set up the router the manual way or if you ever change the SSID or admin password on your own from the manual way then you can no longer use the Cisco Connect software and will in fact have to reset the router to be able to use it again. Also a stupid decision from my point of view.Again, in the end it's a good router, but it seems flawed in an attempt to make it simple by trying to push people to use the Cisco Connect software (the instructions don't make it very clear that you CAN do it the old fashion way).

I wanted higher wireless speed for media streaming so I replaced my old SMC wireless G bridge with the WET610N for access to my DLNA media server and some lab machines. No trouble configuring it or with signal strength but the WET610N acted like a router/firewall instead of a bridge - my streaming device could not see it after it was connected via the WET610N even though nothing else was changed. I had no trouble with internet access so it was working but it acted like it was blocking ports or showing some kind of non-bridge behavior. I know it wasn't a software problem on the DLNA server because as soon as I added a wireless NIC to it and disconnected the WET610N - problem solved. I would caution anyone to not waste time on the WET610N - if it acts screwy, put a NIC in the machine and see if that fixes it like it did for me. I wasted about 10 hours on it.

I've owned this router for about 5 months now. I was a little scared when I first started looking around because the last router I had was a complete pain in the butt. I'm not a IT professional, nor do I feel I should have to be one in order to enjoy wireless internet. Enter the E3000. I followed the easy hook up instructions, put the software onto my two laptops (also easy via a thumb drive), and was online in less than 10 minutes.I actually said aloud "That's IT? That's all I have to do?"Since installation I've had ZERO problems with the router. It is lightning fast and coverage is FANTASTIC both upstairs and down. On several occasions we have watched HD movies online by plugging an HDMI from my laptop to the TV and have had no problems with the bandwidth at all.So, bottom line, if you're in need of an idiot-proof (or just easy) wireless router that can be used throughout the entire household (and in the back yard), by multiple people and devices, this is it. Buy it and enjoy.

I ordered the WET610N to use with my DirecTV DVR HD receiver. Once I got it connected wirelessly to my Verizon DSL router, it functioned just fine.However, when I put the installer CD into my Mac, my computer told me that the CD contained no data. After several attempts to insert the disk and use it, I called Cisco technical support. I was told that technical support would setup the WET610N but in return for a $9.99 charge, which would be refunded if they failed. The charge was so that the technician could take over my computer by remote. The first technician Justie C (19064) failed and decided to send me up to the next level of support. I was told that I would hear from that level in thirty minutes. Several hours later someone called Marlin called but he hung up before I could reach the phone. I heard on my answering machine that his first and only call was their last attempt to reach me. I then called again. The new technician Ruary Feb (11497) refused to transfer me to the higher level of support because he knew that he could solve the problem. He too failed but only after making an attempt first on my Mac laptop and then on my Mac tower. He managed to get himself into a position where everything he did affected both computers simultaneously. Both of the technicians had refused to answer my question, "Why is their nothing on the CD?" At the end of my session with the second technician, I tried a different question, "Would the CD work on a PC?" The answer he gave was "Yes." After I hung up, I borrowed a PC laptop from my next door neighbor. I easily set up the WET610N. I then called technical support one more time and spoke with Louie (10941) and told him that I wanted my $9.99 refunded since they had not solved the problem. He spoke with his supervisor and agreed to refund the money in a week. It has now been two weeks without the refund showing up in my credit card account.If you have a Mac, you probably also need a friend with a PC to set up the device.

i've been rocking a wrt54g for a long time. running the dd-wrt firmware. it's been fantastic. i am hardwired on my desktop and share the wireless with my gf for our laptops.i really wanted this router to work out. the styling on it is really gorgeous. (+1 star).however i'm on my second e3000. the first one would drop to 5Mbps down (i'm on a 25Mbps connection) after being on for a day+. if i released and refreshed the ip then it would jump back up to normal speeds, but then overtime, slowly degrade till is leveled out at 5Mbps. i usually leave my computer on over night since i do batch renders.spent an hour chatting with cisco and after tweaking the mtu and qos they said it was a bad unit and offered me an rma#.now i'm on my second one and although it's not leveling out at 5Mbps (rather 9-10Mbps with stutter jumps in the download as seen from the [...]speed test), there is a noticeable degradation in speed over time (as experienced in simple net browsing). the same solutions work to get the speed back to peak(release/renew the ip, reset the router, enable DMZ then disable) but this shouldn't be happening! it's not an issue with the wireless however, only the wired LAN.when the router is working, it's great! (+1 star). but unfortunately, it's not working as it should.planning on refunding this and going with another model. i'm guessing it's a firmware problem and they'll eventually resolve it, but i'll avoid the frustration until then.i wouldn't recommend this buggy router unless your network is strictly wireless. and even then it seems like you're paying a premium for something that isn't working as it should.

Between Amazon.com and C-Net.com, I think I've read every review ever written on this router. It has received many 1 star rating from "advanced geeks", but mostly 4 or 5 star ratings from "ordinary" computer users. Geeks complain that they can't "tweak" the settings. The rest of us are GLAD its not necessary to "tweak" a single thing on this router. It sets up in about 10 minutes, and it didn't ask me any questions about my MAC address, ISP settings, or anything else I don't know the answer to. ITS UP AND RUNNING.I bought this to stream Netflix movies. It transmits at "N" speeds, has Gigabit Ethernet, and transmits in dual bands AT THE SAME TIME. My Roku box receives dual bands simultaneously, and is optimized for "N" speed. It all fits together. Color me happy.

The router works great. The performance, the range and the reliability are everything I've come to expect of Cisco. The feature set is great and everything works as promised.Important to note - the router can automatically choose the least used radio channels for best WiFi performance.Using the disk that comes with it for initial configuration is a bad idea if you know how to setup a router because it leaves you with things like the guest network that you cannot get rid of later (what is that for???), but it does leave you with a secure working setup and you don't have to use it.

Just received this bridge from amazon and had it working in less than 10 minutes. I used the automatic set up on my Sony XBR9 TV and the blue button on my Cisco E1200 router. Prior to arrival I found a "how to" Cisco pdf document on the web that instructed users to totally disregarded the installation CD.

like many reviews pointed out earlier, this router overheats very easily, especially now in spring/summer time, causing random disconnection of wireless/wired network. Putting a fan on it solves the problem, but that's not what I bought the router for.Overall a poorly designed product. Wonder Linksys/cisco ever test their own product? Very disappointed.
