Arrived in the mail today and set up in about 20 minutes using the CD software enclosed.Pros:Easy set upFast transfer rate. We use it for Samsung blueray player that can receive Netflix, Utube and Pandora. No delay with bufferingSmall and unobrusiveEasy set up with Apple Airport Extreme.Cons:Requires Windows XP, Vista to set up. We are an Apple household with one old Windows XP located in basement. Lots of running up and down stairs to configure.The unit only has ONE ethernet connection. I assumed that it had four like most routers. Not stated in the ad. This will be a problem if we get a TV that needs to be hooked up to the internet also.

Title says it all. I bought this to connect our new Panasonic DMP-BD80 Blu-ray DVD player to the internet. Literally 10 minutes to connect this bridge to a Wireless-G WEP encrypted network that does not have a broadcast SSID. Takes longer to connect some computers to this network! I am also a Mac user (10.5) so don't worry about Mac compatibility. The bridge is sitting inside our home theater cabinet and there is no trouble receiving a signal.The connection process involves connecting the bridge to your router with an Ethernet cable, connecting the bridge's power cable and following the instructions on the set-up CD on your computer. Once set-up is complete, you just disconnect the power and ethernet cables, move the bridge near your entertainment center and reconnect the two cables. Voila! Sit back and enjoy your Blu-ray internet connection!I love that this is ready for our next move to Wireless-N down the road. REALLY LOVE Amazon's price!

Over heats. This causes packet loss and slowness. Range is standard of the E1000. Did I mention hot. Get a Netgear WNDR3700.

Unit heats up and slows down, drops connection all the time. Check Cnet for many other reviews with the same problems. Would return but past return time limit.

I wish that I had read the forums on the linksys site before I had purchased this thing. The WET610N can connect to my WAP4400N and some traffic gets through, but other traffic does not; I haven't determined why yet as that is going to take some time. The problem might be packet size as simple web pages passed ok while more complex pages such as the yahoo.com home page did not. Using a packet siffer I see that the request for a web page goes out and the reply is returned but the reply never makes it over the wireless bridge so the request is made again until the browser gives up. Speed on this device was never what I expected it to be asn it is a 'N' bridge, my old WET54G was faster with the same access point. After wasting far too much time with the offshore script monkey in linksys tech support I am now in contact with someone that has a clue. I think that the support has been my largest problem with this product, I should not know more about the product than the company's own tier I tech support person who while they were polite were not properly trained for their position. The tier II person that spoke to me stated that had I called for support on my WAP4400N access point (which is a 'cisco' product, not a 'linksys' product) that the support person that I would have spoken too would have had more training than the script monkey that I had to deal with. I will help the cisco people debug the issue because I personally want to know what it does not work, but I have otherwise gone back to using my old WET54G (pre-cisco linksys) which functions flawlessly and is fast enough.

The dual band gaming adaptor is a good product. It is easy to install and set up. I use it at 5GHz for my PS3 instead of the onboard wireless G. I saw a nice speed increase once the gaming adaptor was installed. My PS3 is about 75 feet from my router in another room and I get great reception. I tested the signal and it is slightly weaker than the wireless G singnal, but this is to be expected with the shorter wave length of the N signal. If you plan to use it across your house where the signal has to go through many walls, you might want to stick with an 802.11G.

After reading the other reviews, I was almost turned off by the problems with this product. I followed the directions to the letter; the unit was set up perfectly, and extremely easy to do following the install cd. When I plug it into my Sony Bravia tv, no connection, "error 5006". Go to Sony website; first item for "error 5006" is weak internet signal. First thing to do is "make sure you have the most current firmware installed then retry". After going through the firmware upgrade process (easy to do by following directions on Linksys website) the unit works perfectly on my Bravia now. Linksys should just tell people up front "after initial set up following the directions on cd, immediately upgrade firmware first before installing to a device". This would solve so many problems, issues, etc. I give this product a 4 star rating because they should have you upgrade out of the box instead of jumping through hoops. The unit works great after proper initial set up.

This is my 4th router. All of the others are excellent at one thing and poor at another. This one is the best all around router I've used. It finds my multimeadia servers, PS3, DVR2 and the WII plus the routine wireless printres, iPhone etc. It is dual band wireless N 300MIPS 5.8 and 2.4

Ok, I am so tired of these new products that have a "simple" set-up. There needs to be more than one language for installing software. I don't need it, but it's really impossible to help someone set-up this kind of thing over the phone and expect them to be reading you the instructions and steps without being there or really knowing all the correct lingo. PLEASE a powerful company like Linksys shout be able to provide more than one language set-up. If we get it working I will let you know, but for now, it's a total bust.

Delivery of the product was very quick. The install disk that came with it was junk. Thank goodness my television had the set up process already installed, so I just followed that. I love that I can watch Netflix, Youtube and other internet content right on my tv. I would say about 50% of the times that I go to use it, I either have to reset it b/c it does not register my internet signal. A few times I have bypassed the adapter directly and plugged my router right into my tv, but it's a pain to have a cord running accross my living room. Most times I am able to reset it and it works. A few times, I have actually had to re-install it to get it to work. It seems like if I don't use it for a few weeks, I have to reset set it or re-install it.

The installation CD-ROM froze up on one desktop and three laptops. Spent two hours on the line with CISCO overseas support to manually set up the connection, tested that it was talking to the router, thought we were successful, and it still didn't wouldn't connect in the end.

This should have been plug and play since all the wireless components in my house are Linksys. Instead, I had to spend an hour on the phone with tech support. Linksys really needs to improve their products and support.

I was really trying to take advantage of all the web apps on my TV and blue ray player without having to run wires from my router. I spent hours on the phone and in chat sessions with Cisco tech support... the device still wouldnt connect. Instead of returning and ordering another, I ordered a Dlink. It has four ports and it worked as described.

Just got this today. Replaced linksys wrt-160 v2 which kept cutting out. Actually doubled my download speed on wireless connection 24mbps!!!! no dropouts. no resets. easy to set up. I set up guest network first and then used the browser interface to change more advanced options. Highly recommended.

This thing is awesome. Hard to believe its a Linksys product by how well it works.My setup consists of a Linksys WRT330N router, the WET610N, PlayStation3, streaming from a Windows 7 Ultimate box with Windows Media Player 12 DLNA service.The setup disc is ultimately pretty useless. Luckily it doesnt take an IT geek to figure out how to set it up manually. However, It did take me a few trys to get it all right (simply because im a networking amature). At first, it would disconnect from my network and fail to reconnect unless I rebooted the thing (same problem a lot of people have reported). But dont be alarmed, this problem is 100% SETUP RELATED.After I got it setup properly, it worked great from that point forward. It has been connected and streaming FULL Blu-Ray rips (NOTE: Thats the original 1080p AVC/Mpeg Video Stream from the Blu-Ray disc, NOT RE-ENCODED x264/Mkv crap) with High Definition LPCM sound from my media server for two weeks now without a single hitch. Again NOTE: Thats 30-50Mbps AVC/MPeg 1080p Video Stream with 3-7Mbps LPCM HD Sound Streams - WIRELESSLY!!!BUY IT! :)

I had been having issues with what I thought was my internet connection for months. I had two xbox consoles hooked up to xbox live and there were very often connection interruptions with my old belkin router. I purchased this router from best buy and haven't had a problem since, both xbox consoles can be on xbox live simultaneously without interruption. The setup was incredibly easy and the menu is now easy to navigate if anything needs to be changed.

Bought this to go along with a BluRay player I was gifting to the father and law. It needed to be connected to the router and configured through the laptop I had, directions where straight forward. Once it was configured I simply connected it to the BluRay player and configured that for a LAN connection (not wireless which I initially thought) and it worked. The speed is incredible and is going through several walls and up a floor diagonally below the router. The router is the Belkin N1 router though. Highly recommend. After setup and configuration of Netflix, YouTube and all the other options I asked my father and law when we should expect our invite to come back over and enjoy this thing.

The WET610N is a dream come true. Having purchased in the past 6 months a brand new 46" Bravia TV and Sony BD Blue Ray Live Disc Player, I became somewhat disappointed in that I could not take advantage of the BD Live features for updates and to interact with certain movies. I could not take advantage because I utilized a Wireless N network in my home and those 2 devices did not provide for wireless hook up. The manager of my local Sony Style store recommended this product to me. I expressed concern about how much tecnical skill would be involved in setting up this device - on his recommendation, I tried it myself. It came packaged with an install CD and instructions that were very easy. It was literally an effortless install which took only a couple of minutes. The only ''technical'' information that was needed was the network password or "passphrase" - this is the password you created when you set up your wireless network.Set up could not have been easier, and now I no longer have to worry about firmware updates, and can also enjoy the additional features available on Blue Ray Discs.I trust in Linksys and have been a Linksys customer ever since I did my first home wired network almost 10 years ago. This product solves a problem, and is very reliable.

Replacing the battle worn 54g finally. Once this baby is up and running, the speed and connection strength is much better. However, toss the setup disk. I lost 5-6 hrs messing around with it. Just run to [...] and set it up yourself.Note that the default setting does not allow for remote admin, so you have to plug this directly into your laptop or tower to set it up. I lost a bunch of time not knowing that too.

Linksys by Cisco Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming and Video AdapterThis was a product that my husband recommended(wanted), he's the gotta have it, up to date technology gadget guy. Anyway, this product has great, cool wireless features that is enjoyable for everyone in the family. We even signed up for NetFlix and can now instantly watch movies imported from NetFlix on our tv--this is very great! By, by Red Box! It also has shows and movies that are both entertaining and educational, so it's well worth the money despite my initial hesitation in purchasing it.

The only way I could make it work was by manual setup but the documentation does not provide that information. I was able to do that by searching on the net. It sometimes loses connection or connects at a low speed.

I'm not IT savvy, but had trouble with the set up at first - - the instructions are simple but the Pc (laptop) I used was on a wireless network to begin with - - in order to configure the Linksys Wireless-N Gaming adapter you need to hooked to your router by RJ45 cable - once I switched my laptop from wireless to hard wired I could set up the wireless adapter - and then move it to the Panasonic Blue ray - - which now has internet capabilities - -The unit works great - - I actually hooked the Linksys Wireless-N Gaming adapter to my Direct Tv HD DVR - which has 2 RJ 45 ports - and ran a second RJ 45 cable to the Blue ray so now I have both the Blue ray and Direct TV hooked to the internet .

I just got this unit yesterday to hook up a old computer (Sun Ultra 10) which does not have wireless capability. It took while to setup wireless network with WPA security. I followed all the instruction on CD which was provided, but repeated 3+ times (first 2 times with no success, either it was not recognizing the device or just did not want to connect to the wireless router) and finally got it going. But, since the setup this unit has been working flawlessly and reliably. Now this computer which does not have any wireless capability is running on Verizon Fios wireless network 16m download/10m upload ([...] website). This is definitely a great buy. I only spent $[...] for it. (Yes, I did not buy from Amazon) I am still amazed that this computer is running on wireless network. Wow, this technology was not existed about couple years ago. Now this is possible. Before I bought this unit, I went to Best Buy and other local electronic store, sales people had no idea what I was talking about or they thought it was only used in high tech companies, duh...

Set up was very easy and quick. I got it to work with my LG blu-ray so I could use the networking feature. I can see youtube, netflix and pandora. I love it and I haven't had any trouble with any glitches in the movies that are streaming from netflix.

Prior to my purchase I read the reviews and several people said setup was difficult. Well, I don't know what they were doing, but this was a piece of cake! Insert disc, follow instructions and enjoy! I'll be using it with my Pioneer Blu-Ray player and will follow-up this review with more information if I run into any problems, but the Blu-Ray player has all network connection settings displayed, so I should be good to go. In a nut shell, this is a great item and I highly recommend it. Peace & Love!

We usually dread upgrades, but this router, paired with the WMP600n PCI adapter, was easy and the speed is phenomenal. Our wireless printer joined the network and is working as though wired; all that was required was a password.

I recently upgraded to DirectTV HD DVR and it require connection to Internet for OnDemand channel. Bought the device from Amazon and arrive within 2 dats with prime membership shipping. It took me 30 minutes to set it up. It was not direct plug and play and you need the CD-ROM to setup the bridge before you connect to your DVR or TV. The instruction is good, setup is simple that anyone can do it and the small design is sleak and looks nice next to the TV. Highly recommended product.

Please be advised, the WRT610N + WET610N combo do not work as advertised.I bought a WET610N to replace my Xbox 360's wireless adapter.I have it connected to a WRT610N (which I assumed was the best of it's kind). I am using WPA2 personal with a static IP address and QoS. The WET610n disconnects every other day and has to be completely reconfigured from ground zero. Apparently this is a known issue ([...] ) It amazes me that Cisco is unwilling or unable to fix their flagship devices to work as advertised.The issue is apparently related to the passkey re-authentication that periodically takes place in a WPA2 environment. I have changed that r-authentication from the default 3600 seconds to the maximum 7200 seconds; this has reduced, but not eliminated the problem.DO NOT BUY THIS COMBO UNITL CISCO FIXES THE FIRMWARE.In addition to my connection being less stable, the wireless sigle strength is no better between these two devices than it was with my Xbox 360s wireless adapter and my old WRT54G running DD-WRT firmware. As far as I can tell, "Range +" or whatever they call it is no more than a marketing gimmick.

I bought this for my new Sony Bravia and installation was as easy as the video's say. I followed the steps and boom my TV was receiving WI-FI signal. The hardest part was running up and down the stairs to install it. My Netgear router is on different floor and other side of house and it pick's up signal with no problem.It's only problems were that it would take 1 to 2 months as per Amazon to get it (not the product's fault) so I ordered it through shoplinksys and had it in a week. Price ended up the same after special.I wouldn't mind more than 1 Ethernet connection but not a big deal.

I have a Blu-Ray home theater that is capable of streaming netflix off the internet, however it requires a direct connection (not wireless). The Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming and Video Adapter does a great job of streaming video wirelessly! I use it with the Linksys WRT320N. One feature I like is that if you want to move it to something else, you just unplug it and move it...no re-setup needed. I just wish it didn't cost so much.

Installing the bridge was certainly not easy. It required nearly an hour on the phone with a Linksys tech (and a $9.99 fee) but once installed it worked great. I have it connected to a Sony BluRay player and linked to our home network so that we can download movies/tv shows from Netflix. Although the router and the BlueRay are in opposite corners of the house the signal is plenty strong enough to allow a great connection. Given that there are 3 components that have to work together (internet router, wireless bridge and BluRay player) I wasn't expecting it to be easy. Perserverence paid off. I'm quite happy.

I use the product to downstream Netflexs directly to my LG TV that has this feature built-in. Bandwidth is adequet for HD streaming over a distance of about 30ft. Setup is fairly simple except it looses its setup coding every couple of weeks requiring that I go through the setup routine again. When working, this product works as advertised. Because it looses it set up coding, I can not recommend this product.

I was a little concern with the model after reading some of the reviews. However, I had no problems and think this was a great investment for our gaming system. We have our PS3 in the basement but the DSL wireless base is upstairs. Our connection was still fairly good until we had somebody in our use family use the computer. Our connection would get slow and it was just frustrating playing games online. We setup the Linksys WET610N in the basement and ran an ethernet cable to the PS3 and wow what a difference. The unit gives us a great connection and handles the broadband usage so online gaming is awesome.Just be sure to read all the directions before you begin the setup and you should be fine.Happy gaming!

After I got the unit set up, it works fine for my purposes - connecting my blu-ray player to my wireless home network. The distance is short, less than 30 feet, and just in the next room. The connection will not carry a lot of video smoothly, but it works OK.But if you are not able to handle a few set-up issues yourself, reconsider. It took me the second try to set up the device through their setup disk. Then it couldn't find my wireless network, which had 2 laptops on it and was running fine. I called technical support. The manufacturer CLAIMS to offer free technical support during the 1-year warranty. But when I called, the very day my unit was delivered, they wouldn't help me unless I bought extended coverage for their router I was using with it. I didn't have any problems with the router, but they wouldn't tell me how to connect my brand new ethernet bridge to the router because the router warranty had expired. Real ripoff. These things HAVE to go through a router so everyone who calls for technical support will have a router. I think this allows them to avoid giving any technical support on this unit without the customer paying. I figured it out myself eventually - without the assistance of the very unhelpful representative.

This works just like it's supposed to. I have Macs, and I was concerned that the configuration software was PC only. It's not (nor is it a web interface). It's a real Mac client app. The device works just fine. I use it to download on-demand content from Direct TV. The download could be faster, but that much more to do with my local setup than this device. The only thing I would say that would make it better is if it cost less, but I'm more than happy with its performance. I might buy another for an old Mac I have that does not have a wifi card.

...then this is a *VERY EASY SETUP!*1. Take it out of the box2. Plug it into your TV & AC power3. Go to INTERNET SETUP on your TV, click connect.4. After it finds your home network, you probably don't have the "WPA button" so just manually enter in your WEP wireless code.Presto, download Netflix movies:)Don't worry about all the bad reviews on setup if you have a Bravia at least, its a snap! Do not do any drivers, don't open the CD, don't plug it into your computer...plug it into your TV and njoy...also, I got a $35 refurbished one of these, glad I didn't pay more...perhaps the refurb'ed ones come with newer firmware, not really sure, but worked fine for me.

It has a UPnp Media Server if you want to connect a usb storage device.If you want to stream using TVersity or Media player, forget it. It is not DLNA complaint.Works w/DDWRT, but voids your warranty.

This product is perfect for people who do not want to run ethernet cable to every room. If you are interested in streaming video, gaming, etc. This bridge should help you resolve your bandwidth issues. I have a subscription with Netflix, and there are issues with streaming to wireless G devices (PS3s, etc). I believe it is due to the limited speed of the Wireless G band. The combination of this bridge with a wireless N router (D LINK DIR 655) was a game changer. The quality of the high definition video is great with a steady stream.I highly recommend it..

I installed this becuase I like to stream both movies and baseball games wirelessly to my PS3 and/or my laptop. So far no issues, both streams are very good quality, no interuptions. Setup was easy.

I have installed so many routers etc that I thought I wouldn't have the problems that some have had. HA. Everything went well in the beginning until I got an error message about having two devices with the same ip address. Ignored that and took the suggestion mentioned here to download the firmware before I installed the unit on the Sony TV. I couldn't even get that done. So I called the notorious Linksys tech support. They couldn't have been better. She walked me through everything and patiently even waited while I installed it on the TV. I have a Netgear router and waited for some resistance but that never came. Having dealt yesterday with Netgear which refused to help me because I had a refurbished unit, Linksys was great.

I had a Linksys WET54G which just up and died and the 610N was the only bridge available at my local electronics store.The install disk will crash when you run it on Windows 7 which will leave you completely out of luck unless you can connect it to another non-W7 machine to do the installation. Tech Support kept giving me solutions that would ONLY work had the setup worked.The signal reception is terrible... When I was in the same room, only 3 feet away from the base it only had 87% signal strength! And I had to get the signal downstairs and across the house. The WET54G pulled 84% in the basement and could stream hulu at high quality while doing large downloads at the same time without any problems. With the 610N, I only get 34% and have to have hulu on low quality and it still stutters!I HATE THIS BRIDGE!! Going to return it after I get a replacement.

This Linksys adapter wouldn't synch with my Linksys router. I tried several times, even reseting my router twice but nothing worked. I finally broke down and called technical support. I let them take control of my computer and they were able to link the adapter to the router.It works great, but for me it wasn't possible to get the adapter linked to the router.

I bought this unit to add WiFi to my new Sony N460 Blu-ray player. Hook-up was easy by making the connection through the Sony N460 menu. There was no setup disc required at all. This should actually be spelled out in the Linksys documentation. Even though the signal strength is only 13-16% on the 5.0GHz band, the connection is solid. That way I am keeping the N460 separate from all the other stuff running on the 2.4GHz band which shows a 55-65% signal strenth.
