I use this cam all the time and most of the time it is good. The mic on it has a few problems so i have to use a different mic to be heard. It clips fine on my Gateway Laptop. It is a bit laggy from time to time as well.

Logitech web cam works for about a minute and then the video breaks up. Within two minutes the Skype call drops off and one must call again. There is no help from either Skype or Logitech for this problem. Could it be that this product is no longer being manufactured?

This is a good external camera if you're running Windows. I usually work on Macs but needed something for when I use Windows and this does the job nicely.

This camera works on OSX with a sourceforge driver. The image quality isn't bad, but the refresh rate is very slow and the microphone, from what I'm told, is difficult to hear. I have to use a separate usb mic in conjunction with it. Still, not a bad purchase considering it doesn't claim Mac compatibility and it was less than $35.

This camera is great. I never have any problems with it and it has a really good quality on Skype. The camera gets a little hot when it's hooked up.

After having a new baby, our friends and family started hounding us to buy a webcam. Being cash strapped (you know, new baby and all), I didn't want to spend a lot.Luckily I got way more than I paid for with this Logitech camera. The image is clear and not too grainy, and the effects are fun. It works quite well for video web chat. Don't expect megapixel clarity, but for what it is designed for, it works well.I installed it on both a Vista machine and XP machine without any problems. It is very refreshing to have drivers for the Vista OS and not have any ill effects from installing peripherals.Couldn't ask for much more.

This product was listed as new--yet the audio cuts in and out and I have to restart my skype so that the other person can even HEAR me. Not sure if this product is defective--or if it's the brand itself. Would not recommend it though

Works perfect for vaio laptop.To prevent install all the logitech stuff,- Insert logitech disk, do not install anything on autorun- Plug in the camera (on windows vista) and is unable to find driver locally, point to search driver from the logitech driver disk, it finds and install driver.

When I went to college, I needed a webcam that was Skype compatible, so I could talk to all my friends on my clunker of a laptop. This one works just fine--the quality isn't great, and doesn't have many added features, but was inexpensive enough that I didn't expect those things. Not a bad deal.

When I bought it, the price was incredibly reasonable. A week later the price increased by over $10. I contact Amazon by phone and received the answer of that's how it is. The web cam is fancier and higher quality then I need. But the price was great.

I like my camera's quality. It ranges between light and dark really well with a couple other features that are fun to discover. The cam is mostly for thicker laptops. It does come with a rubber piece to help it stay on a thinner laptop, but on my hp it still doesn't stay very well when the screen is tilted.The cord is short as well so placing it on something else isn't really an option unless you're right up next to it or you have an extension. The camera itself is a good quality camera for it's price!

it seems that this web cam does not work with windows vista ,when installed it wipe out computer sound driver had a heck of a time trying to install drivers computer ok now with com stxcam

I'm not an expert in this things at all, but I'm pretty happy with this little thing. I need to keep in touch with my family in Europe (I'm in the states) and its working pretty good. If u need something inexpensive thats still gonna work without giving u a headache, then sure. But if u want something better, cough up the money, cause this is not for u.

Easy quick installation. Had slight problem with sound and picture, but easily solved by selecting options in computer. Company does provide consumer help.

This product is OK it took a little while to make it work through Skype. The video has a lot of snow for that reason I would rather use a laptop that has a Quickcam built in!

Loved this product so much that I purchased a second one as a birthday present for my sister and she also loved it.The best thing about it, is that it's very user friendly. If your looking for a non expensive web-cam this gets the job done; in the other hand if you prefer hi quality over average, I would suggest something on the higher end. But if you just want to see that special person on the other side without breaking the bank this is a great choice.

my chat partners tell me that the image i send out by webcam is clear and vibrant. even in low light, details of my face, hair and background can be seen. reasonably priced and quality product. highly recommend.

This was one of the worst cams I have ever purchased since learned my lesson going to save up for one of those digital handheld camcorders instead with better resolution and megapixels. This was aweful the picture was grainy horrible experience wouldn't buy another. I use them mostly to do my expotv product reviews this wasn't working for what I wanted it for. So I am saving up to someday get a aiptek digital handheld camcorder or one of those flip ones instead. this is okay maybe for yahoo messenger if that .I definitly like my Creative Live one better. My other logitech which was the quick cam im messenger or something the gray one my boyfriend gave me worked alot better had better resolution this one wouldn't recommend it get what you pay for kind of a thing .

I am happy with this product. It is easy to use and it works on my Laptop with Ubuntu Linux. It fits securely onto my laptop, which is a Dell inspiron 2200. Once I figured out how to adjust the resolution, it has worked well with SKYPE and the webcam capture program in Ubuntu Linux. I would recommend this product for a easy, low cost solution for a laptop webcam.

I purchased this Quickcam for Notebooks Deluxe as a gift for my parents who wanted to do video conferencing with me. The webcam arrived very soon as promised and was easy to set up. Also, the picture and audio quality are very good.However, I have taken two stars away from this review as the webcam doesn't hold well on the LCD screen of my parents' Toshiba Satellite laptop, which has a LCD screen curved at the top. While other webcams (with a clip clasp) hold it easily, this one is very dicy. They have to be careful everytime they move the laptop even slightly, to be sure that it doesn't fall off! Moreover, the webcam lacks a lateral tilt, which means that the user has to mount it in the center of the LCD screen and then sit exactly in front of it to make sure he/she is in the center of the frame.Overall, the product is good, but I would ask my friends to prefer other better webcam models for notebooks by Logitech for their personal use.

This webcam isn't high resolution. Yes, it will not fair very well in low light and its images won't be cystal clear.It is a webcam, so if I am going to be streaming video across the internet, I'd like it to get there before I go to bed, so small images are good.It works perfectly with Linux. Just plug it in (which is more than I can say for Vista, which seems to think it matters which USB port I use...). It works great with Kopete (IM client), cheese and camorama (apps for video and images) and motion (motion detecting software)

I really like the size of this webcam and it clips perfectly okay onto my laptop (Dell Inspiron 6000). The angel it fits is just fine (it also tilt up and down to adjust) and the sound quality is really good! Of course, it's not crystal clear sharp surround sound system sound or high definition images, but I'll say it's worth it for the buck. At first, the image seemed blurry or too much white balance and I tried to adjust using the control on the program but didn't seem to help, then I played around a little and figured out the little ring around the lens actually move for you to help adjust the sharpness. After that I've got no problem. I'm sure it must've been mentioned in manual but I didn't read it since it's so easy to install and put in that I didn't bother.I like the fun filters too.

This webcam got decent reviews from other sources on the internet. The price was right and I didn't need a fancy webcam with features I would never use. I just wanted it to communicate with my son and daughter. It set up easily with SightSpeed and Skype.My only complaint is the clip that is used to attach it to your notebook. It isn't flexible enough to make a secure contact. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad and the rim around the screen is too thick for the webcam's clip.Other than that, it works fine.

If you want a cheap webcam for Skype or such, this is it. The software is super easy to install and the quality of the images is great. I use it with my laptop, just plug it into USB port and clip on.

I love everything about the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks, except for the sound quality. It sounds really staticy. The size is great for laptop bags, the video quality is acceptable (manual focus though instead of automatic focus) Nice short cord. Fits well on laptop. But I returned it due to the sound quality not being optimal. Hard to talk to people over a webcam that emits static.

I have two laptops. It works with one of them (newer one), but not with another one (older one).I'm trying to find out the reason why, but I'm not a computer expert so..I don't know what is wrong with it.I guess that's because it is usb1.1. usb 2.0 ports are supposed to be working with usb1.1 devices, but in the real world, that's not always true. So be careful if your computer is old.

After reading some other poor reviews I was very doubtful about buying this web cam. I still bought it though as it was affordable. I am gald I did. This is the clearest i've ever seen and I've received compliments from users on both ends of the chat window. I'm not too impressed with the software though. Up to now I can't get my face to fully calibrate into one of the effects images. It works well without installing the software and, for the record, it works although the software CD "warns" you not to plug in the Cam before installing the software.

I bought this webcam about 7months ago..but rarely used it..initially it was working fine, but I don't know what happened,i din't even drop it or mishandle it..The picture quality is horrible..I don't even bother using it anymore...I paid $27 for this piece of junk...total waste of money..

The camera picture quality is what you can expect for the price. It works well with Skype. It's the software that's been giving me issues and I had to go through extensive trouble installing/reinstalling the CD that it came with.If I had a second chance I probably wouldn't choose Logitech again.

I am extremely disappointed and will return the item. The image is blurry and just all around bad compared to other webcams I've experienced. The audio cuts out constantly and, over half the time, doesn't work at all.

This webcam serves its purpose, but I was expecting more. The sound quality is very good, and the frame rate of the video is decent, but the overall video quality is disappointing; it looks very pixelated. The software is very easy to install, and the webcam couldn't be easier to operate. It's a good webcam for the price, but if you're looking for a high-quality webcam this isn't the one for you.

The only good things about this webcam are 1)the price, 2)the look of the webcam and 3)that it clips onto pc screens and laptop screens.This webcam although by a well known and much loved company (Logitech) is a piece of crap. Sorry but it is. The video quality is one of the worse I have ever seen in 10 or so yrs. When I tried using this webcam on my dell inspirion 1721 the video quality was sooooooooo poor. It looked super static like if your tv was out or not coming in well. The picture was blurry and not clear at all. No matter what size you try and make the webcam feed or whatever you wanna call it from email size 320 by something to 640 by something etc video quality sucks.DO NOT I repeat DO NOT buy this webcam. It is a waste of money, time and so much more. I would recommend saving up your money and buying a different webcam rather by Logitech or Microsoft or whatever.Logitech should be ashamed of theirselves for putting out such an awful product.

Finally, after three webcams, this one finally works out of the box on Ubuntu 8.04. Both the cam and microphone work on Skype. At $32, wish Amazon had a better discount though. Tried both MS VX-1000 and QuickCam Connect, neither worked properly as of 8/2008.

This camera is very good, it is not too expenseive, the quality is great. I use it for skype (on Vista) and I even use the microphone in the webcam, you can choose the resolution and even at the max one, you can have a very good image. There are some fun effects, (but this is not the main asset!) and it fits well on the top of my laptop.The only bad point is the manual focus, that's for saying that the camera worth its price for sure, I recommand it for all the chats and VoIP!

I use this webcam for my laptop and my PC, and it works perfectly! The CD was outdated, so I went to the logitech website and just downloaded the newest version for it. My laptop has Windows Vista on it, and it works perfectly, no problem at all. My PC is Windows XP and it works perfectly also, so either way, this webcam is a good deal! I recommend completely, 100%! It's great for video calls on msn, stickam, yahoo, and aol. The quality isn't that great on aol, and it's really good on msn and stickam. Great job Logitech!

The webcam fits nicely on my hp laptop so no issues there. Software works fine and skype picked it up immediately. Image is clear, not grainy as some reviews complain - great value for what I paid! Definitely recommend as a low cost webcam for the occasional user.

Got the QuickCam Messenger instead; cam and microphone work out of the box; same specs. Also tried the MS VX-1000; did not work. Suspect the drivers will be updated eventually.

I love this camera! I am expecting my first baby and I bought this camera so I can communicate visually with my family in Europe. The clarity of the image and the sound is amazing! Even my sister noted that she sees me very very clearly (especially compared to her web cam). Also, it's very easy to attach it to your laptop and adjust it as needed. I love as well how compact and light it is. Great product - which reaffirms Logitech as one of my favorite brands!

This is a good, serviceable camera with decent quality images -- much better than the Logitech QuickCam Chat, which I also purchased. I am returning the QuickCam Chat and keeping the Quickcam for Notebooks for my son.
