I think this camera is not still perfected. it may work on some TV but it does not work with Samsung or LG smart TVs. So be careful before you buy it.

I purchased it with the mistaken idea that it was MAC-compatible.When I investigated how complicated returning it to Amazon was (since it involved a third party), I decided to give it to a friend who has a Windows PC but needed a webcam.

IT worked like I was always dreaming a cam/microphone would work with skype back in 2002....I bought it, plugged it in and it works flawlessly. Good work Logitech.

This cam works excellently, has an easy set up, and overall great features. I had the opportunity to skypewith my nieces that live 1200 miles away from me. They were so happy to see me, and I snapped some greatphotos of their reactions as I spoke to them. Priceless.

Installation is a breeze, but the quality is terrible, is displays vertical lines/stripes and from what I read about this online it is normal, definitely not HD, worse than my embedded 6 years old HP webcam.

only used for 5 months and this webcam suddenly died.Not sure if there is only me encountered this issue. Next time will probably buy one that come with original package.

I purchased this for my girlfriend as a gift after her webcam died so I could keep skyping with her. I really wish I would have broken her camera myself and sooner because this was a huge upgrade. The HD quality is great and for just use in skype this is a good purchase. I myself have the c920 and think that is better all around (1080p, good video recording), but more than twice the cost.

This camera is infinitely better than most laptop webcams I've seen. The video is crisp and fluid on my Mac Mini, and I had no problem with the microphone picking up my voice in a small apartment.The video quality suffers a bit in poor light, but I haven't met anyone who expected stellar quality from a Skype call, so I'm willing to live with it. If you need better video quality, you can spend twice as much on models with exterior lights, or you can turn on enough lights in your house so that you don't appear to live in a cave. Up to you!

i have a completely simple laptop, a Lenovo r500, given to me from my college. i was hesitant to buy this webcam because it was used or refurbished and it did not come with the CD with the software. but i simply needed it so i can use Skype with my mom from another state. i plugged it in and BAM! ready to go. within 5 minutes i was chatting with my mom! thanks guys! 720p resolution is superb so no need for 1080p unless you are filming a movie or something

We have a client that has to show potential buyers their products and good detail is required. The client uses Skype and is able to broadcast real time video of their products in action. The compression algorithm is excellent ... even on a t1 line (1.54 Mbps up and down).BillH

I love the quality of the video and the many sliders available to get the exposure just right. The software works okay, and has some cool features. The motion activated recording feature would be awesome for an affordable security camera. I only wish it had a feature for time lapse, since the software I intended to use with it couldn't handle HD. The main problem I have with it is that if I unplug it with the Logitech software open, it crashes my computer. Not a huge deal if you know about it, but a lot of lost work if you don't. It also has trouble recording long videos. I did a video that was about an hour long, and twenty minutes in the video freezes and won't play the rest even if you try to skip to it. Again, a lot of lost work. If fixed, this would easily be a 5 star camera.*EDIT: I bought a second camera from Jurassic Photos. this webcam is the best one for the money. the one below this one just doesnt have enough to have decent picture...so unless you need high graphics when using your webcam...this is the right level.

If you are looking for a web-cam, then this product is going to be overkill. I will say that the picture and sound quality is absolutely excellent, and my deployed brother said the picture on his end was vastly improved over the built in web-cam in our home computer, but unless you have one of the few Panasonic televisions with Skype that are compatible with this particular camera, I would recommend you continue to search for a less-expensive model that works with any television with Skype capability or a really great computer only model.As for video, the camera does pick up a much wider viewing area than with most now standard laptop web cams or those that clip on to computer monitors. Some of the lesser quality cameras can make it seem to those viewing on the other end as if they are looking through a front door peephole, but this Logitech camera creates a nice, clean, broad viewing area for the other person. This makes it great for those who use webcams for Skyping with relatives or friends that need to take turns in order to be seen. The refresh rate is awesome, so even when people move there is very little blurring or freezing of the picture.Another plus is the audio. The microphones are quite sensitive and do pick up a good bit of background noise. No headphones are needed, and conversations can be held in a normal tone of voice.Sadly, our television is Skype enabled but not a Panasonic, so this camera didn't work out for us that way. It would be amazing if Logitech came out with this camera enabled to work with any Skype enabled television, especially for families with loved ones deployed overseas in the military or working in another state, or for any family members who live long distances apart. With this model, however, the price is too expensive for "just" a computer webcam, even factoring in the stellar audio and video.(p.s. The computers we tried this on were a Dell desktop, an Asus laptop, and a HP Laptop, so no issues using it with various PCs)

Come in with original packaging that completely damage, looks like something from the the store display with some scratches on the unit itself. Unit works okay, however my suggestion and recommendation is to buy the cheaper C210 if you are just using this for Skype.

cannot get interface between camera and computer to work., so i cannot tell if camera works. . since hookup is simple, it would help to know the steps to get skype or facebook to recognize camera,

This camera does not work with 2012 Panasonic tvs. Received runaround from Logitech support people. Very frustrating. Panasonic online help documented it was compatible with new 2012 P55ST50 tv but it never would recognize camera for use with Skype. Returned it and replaced with Panasonic camera which works great.

This camera was horrible and didn't come with instructions and I couldn't focus it. I just gave it to someone else to keep and they figured it out eventually but it was horrible.

I bought this product a couple days ago, and it works great. Excellent quality picture, and it makes it much more easy and relaxing to skype, because you can do it from your couch in front of the tv. The microphones pick up clear sound even from a couch ten feet away. This improves the skype experience enough so that we will now use skype a lot.

I had to return the webcam as the Mic did not work on my PC. I don't think it was a problem with the Webcam, but more to do with my PC. for a webcam, 720p is great for video conferencing, skype, etc. Would recommend it. Price was a great too.

Recently purchased the Logitech HD 270 Webcam and am extremely pleased with it. I skyped with my adult children and even they commented on the clarity of the picture and the sound. I did a bit of research on different products beforehand and am very happy with this product. I bought it through Amazon so the price was good and it arrived in just a few days. I definitely recommend it for Skyping and would rate the product/cost/service EXCELLENT!

When installing the software, choose custom and only install what you need. Your computer will run faster.Photos: Decent little camera, pictures come out with a few visible vertical lines, but other than that it shows great.Video: Takes relatively clear video, microphone works well. No delay between movement/sound and recording on the camera.Video chatting: Works great with Skype, but couldn't get it to work with AIM. Not sure if this is a problem with the capability of the camera or a problem on my part, but it still won't work nonetheless.The lighting/sound enhancers on the camera work very nicely and produce a better recording.All in all, this is one of the best cameras you can get in this price bracket. One star subtracted because of the minor vertical lines in photos, but I'd definitely recommend this product.

I just purchased the Logitech C270 off of amazon and I looked up reviews on this product and wow the reviews are right! The quality of the camera is amazing it does have 720p the only downside is when you update your webcam it goes to c310 instead of c270 logitech which is fine no biggie.. I do recommend buying this webcam. I have made a lot of YouTube videos with this product and its great.. Purchase the camera already!

Well when i was looking for a good camera at a reasonable price i ran across this cam. figured i'd try it. It is great! only complaint about feature i wish it had is an adjustable panning capabilities. my other cam manually moved up and down left and right. this cam manually adjusts up and down but left and right adjustments are done digitally and there is not many degrees of adjustment. otherwise friends and family can tell night and day in the quality of this cam in comparison to my other cam made by Ph.....s.

Unless you are trying to film a movie or something i dont know why you wouldn't like this webcam. its a great product. I use it on my laptop because m current laptop embedded webcam is 480p if not 360p

Logitech did it again with a great webcam. I swear by Logitech products because they never disappoint. Video quality is superb. The speakers and mic are more than adequate. The only downside is that, for my CPU, which I have on the floor, the USB cable is way too short. I had to buy and extension. But this is a minor inconvenience compared to the quality of this cam.

The video quality is excellent and works well for Skype and Google Hangouts. Unfortunately, the noise-cancellation in the microphone doesn't work well; almost everyone I talk to asks me to take them off "speakerphone". I was hoping I could use this for VoIP calls as well as videoconferencing, but I've gone back to using my headset for audio.
