First, a disclaimer that I am not a You-tube-savvy video-phile, so this is by no means an expert opinion. My primary consideration for this purchase was the desktop I was using the webcam with. Since my family PC is pretty old (can you say Intel P3, 733mHz, and 768MB RAM? - yuch!!), many of the newer, flashier, and more expensive webcams were not spec'd to work with it. From what I read as I researched the purchase, this is one of Logitech's older designs. It's also one of the least expensive webcams you'll find from any of the standard quality vendors.That being said, this is a very functional camera, and seems to serve its purpose well. I'm using it with Skype, and it required very minimal setup in terms of both time and effort. It's not going to to blow you away with its picture quality, but I think that's more a function of spec than design. The kids have fun with it, even if the video often lags behind and you get that "now I'm here, swish, now I'm here..." kind of effect. I also had to play a bit with the mic levels to keep it from cutting out, but that seems a standard configuration issue. Just out of curiousity, i set it up with my late model Dell laptop (Core2 Duo, 2GB RAM), and the cam performed the same way as on the older system, so again, I guess that's just the older design.I'm sure it was a blast for people 5 years ago, but with the technology advancing so quickly, I tend to think it's more than a little behind the curve in terms of video quality. But for the price, ease of use, and compatibility with older systems, it's very much worth a try.

I am glad i found this all in one camera + microphone combo. I do not use it much but it is helpful not to worry about separate cables and so on. Easy and portable. it is easy to install.

I bought this webcam to use with my laptop when I am away from home. I have owned several different webcams and my basic needs are a camera that can deliver 640x480 resolution at 30fps. This camera does a good job of delivering that level of service which is enough to provide a relatively smooth picture. The Logitech software for enhancing a picture in low light also works well as does their software that cancels sound loops that would lead to feedback. The one drawback I have found is the mount has insufficient spread to clamp onto my laptop's display frame.

I first installed the program from the Logitech CD that came with the webcam but it gave me a lot of problems -- it slowed down my computer and gave me the blue death screen (which eventually makes it restart). I uninstalled the program and decided to just "plug-and-play". It works okay then. Picture quality is fine as it adjusts accordingly to light changes. However, the sound quality is TERRIBLE! There are random LOUD static noises every so often which would be my biggest complaint with this product. I tried installing drivers for the webcam but nothing seems to fix the static. I'm unhappy with the product but I'll just deal with it until I could afford to buy a better one.

This item works EXACTLY as advertised, software loaded onto Vista without a hitch...great. There are so many features, it will take a while to wade through them, but using it with Skype is a cake walk. No autofocus, but at this price, adjust the ring and Skype!

I'm not good at technology but I purchased this to do Skype with my sisters who live in other states. I was amazed at the ease of installation with the CD and how small it is for storage. It came with it's own storage pouch and it's so tiny it fits in my purse.

I use it for my desk top computer. I thought it would have been able to fit my LCD monitor (I don't know why) but it couldn't. Fortunately I have some Altec Lansing speakers, so I improvised and clipped it on to the speaker shield apparatus thingy. It gives good quality picture in good light and fair quality pictures in low light. It will utilize the slightest gleam of white light to enhance the image though. As in the case of a lap top it could be pitch black in the room as long as the computer screen is on (and has a fairly white background) the camera will produce a relatively good image (kinda pixelated/fuzzy but able to make out well)

The item was delivered quickly and works great. I would recommend it to anyone using Ubuntu Linux as I have had other web cams that did not work with Linux but did with windows.

I bought this for my daughter so she could talk to my son while he was in Iraq. It certainly came quickly and was as promised. She did not tell me she had any problems installing it, so I know it was easy to do.

I would LOVE to do a video review of this one, just to prove my point, but you would never be able to tell what I was saying!I purchased my first webcam back in 1998. It was a different brand, and it was more advanced, technically, than this one. Considering how far digital imaging has come, I am disappointed and annoyed that the quality of this cam is so sub-par. I paid more for it at a physical store than it's for sale here at Amazon, but even at $32, it's too much for what you're getting.The pluses are that it's easy to set up, the audio seems to be passable, and the cam itself is small and light enough to not need constant readjustment.The negatives are everything else. Why buy a cam? To broadcast your likeness - maybe in video. The quality is so bad on this cam that it simply isn't possible. Still shots are worse than my LG camera phone. Video is terrible and, again, worse than my LG camera phone.Will be uploading an actual still shot, just to demonstrate lack of quality.

Somebody bought this camera for me as a father's day gift, believing that it would be supported by my Mac. Turns out that a newer version with the same name works (not available on Amazon.com), but there is no official support for this version. To see a list of Logitech cameras that should work on Mac OSX see Logitech's support site (answer id 6471), or check out the Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac (Black). Fortunately for me, the good people at macam support this camera, so I'm able to use it with Skype.Using the macam QuickTime driver for this web cam, I'm able to use it with Skype, and the image quality is good once you get it focused (manual operation). Unfortunately, the frame rate hovers around 2.3-2.9fps, which means that video is choppy even when using the macam app to view the video locally. Obviously, although the camera does work with the macam software, it doesn't work nearly as well as it would on a PC.

I helped my brother setup this camera, it was a snap.. It works great with Skype, the audio quality is excellent. The price cannot be beat.Not sure what some others expect from a VOIP application, but this works as expected.30 frames/sec, 640x480 - Works fine.

I just want to say this product is working in my mac. Well, I google for how to use this web-cam in my mac, and I just need to copy something into my system, and it works! My friend can see me well, considered the relatively cheap price.

Installed on XP with SP3. Plugged it in and let it search for drivers. Found Logitech E2500 drivers and installed. Then update loaded from Logitech site. Works much better in low light than my 5 year old logitech USB web cam.

I just got off the logitech support line and the person admitted this camera does not mount well to a flat screen monitor. You can balance it on the monitor, but a tiny shake will upset it.

Works great with Windows, Ubuntu Linux, Mac, you name it. This is a great webcam for anybody, or if you're not sure you want to spend an arm and a leg for professional business webcam chat. To have a webcam, just jump in an purchase this one. You won't be disappointed.

yugg-- They are SO trying to sell you the VID software, just trying now to get to the camera already. !!!what I've seen so far the camera works better than the MS one I tried,BUT The software doesn't get me to the camera!!HELP!@yeeeeegh!!!!

The webcam works well most of the time, but during the first 10 or so uses of this camera on gmail chat, the computer went to a blue screen and restarted. I performed a system restore to the date I installed it and it seemed to dramatically lessen these occurrences. I am no computer whiz so I'm not really sure what the real probelm is. I also bought this camera for a friend so that we could chat. Unfortunately the same thing happens with his computer. He has not performed a system restore and so the blue screen continues to happen a little more frequently than I am experiencing.Otherwise this webcam works ok. I got a great price so it is worth it now, although I was worried at first.

I have been quite busy since receiving this camera. Consequently, I have made limited use of it. I am a frequent buyer of Logitech products and don't doubt that it will perform as advertised. If I have a problem in the future, I will report it.

The product shipped was not in a box, just in a small plastic bag. CD missing to download the WebCam. Very poorly packaged. Thrown in a small bubble envelope. May have been the reason why the CAM did not function. Returned, hopefully we got our refund.

Really clear image and voice. Smaller than I thought it would be, but clips securely to the top of my laptop. Software is too unwieldy and slows my computer. When I have time, I'll uninstall it and just reinstall the driver, like another reviewer suggested. At first, I couldn't get the cam to focus, but learned from these reviews that we're supposed to manual focus right on the cam itself. It would've been helpful if the manual said that. No problems using this with Yahoo Messenger. Love the built-in mic.

What was Logitech thinking? They're a great company in danger of soiling their reputation with such a bad product. The picture quality is horrific. Lucky thing I've got other Logitech stuff to tell me the company isn't all bad. But if this were the first Logitech product I had ever bought, I'd probably never buy another.

This camera is a waste of money. I got it because it says directly on the box that it works with Windows live messanger (dont know), AIM( cant find webcam setup), and Yahoo messanger.....WRONG! I got this webcam to chat with my brother on yahoo meassanger and it wont even connect with yahoo, i tryed the help that Yahoo suggested and nothing! Dont bother wasting your time on this even if you just want to make videos with it because unless you get perfect lighting the video is grainy as hell and often eather way too dark or way blown out!!! Crap crap crap....Im dead serious this is a waste of money!!!!

This is a good, entry level webcam for budget conscious purchasers. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of the more expensive cams - but it does a perfectly fine job for Skype or other VoIP systems.

this webcam stinks on ice. the video and audio are out of time so it looks like your lips move then the words come out ok if you want to make bad videos. so don,t bye it am sending the uesless webcam back .hope this will keep everybody from getting this webcam what a joke LOL see you at bestbuys LOL

Length:: 2:17 MinsI was actually impressed for a $20 webcam at Walmart. The webcam has VGA 480 x 640 and 1.3 pix resolution. I must say that the picture is quite clear with no delayed audio to video, along with a nice non-grany capture. EXCEPT - If you buy this quickcam, plan on only recording videos during the day! At night with artificial lighting, this camera does not work well. The capture is grany, with delayed video and audio response. I also use a seperate mic with most webcams. This mic is not all that great. However, for $20 and being able to actually record (during daylight) and upload decent and clear videos to YouTube (which I have) is the reason I give it a 4 star. You get what you paid for, and I never expected the picture quality to be this good during natural daylight

Nowhere in the Amazon description does it list the system requirements. I got it, but as soon as I tried to install it, it said "This requires Windows XP, service pack 2."Don't understand why a simple webcam has such high requirements. I tried to search for a Windows 2000 driver, but had no luck. I guess Logitech's fancy-shmancy software requires XP, but shouldn't they have a simpler driver for those of us behind the technological times?!?! Annoyed at Logitech for that.I thought I just didn't look carefully enough at the item description, but it's not listed anywhere--actually, I just noticed it is there, but you have to click on the "Technical Details" link, under Product Features. Okay, so I'm annoyed at both myself and Amazon for that.Sheesh. :' (

This camera worked great with XP and Vista, but there is no software for Windows 7, and Logitech is not going to release any Win 7 driver for it. The SW for newer cameras will not work either. I'm really upset that my relatively new webcam will no longer work.

I love this thing! I read at least 2 pages of these reviews before purchasing and they're mostly right. Some people mentioned having sound issues but mine has worked fine. Set up was a breeze! Just put the CD in and it installs itself. A lot of people complained about the clip but it's really not a problem at all. The back part of the clip can be pulled out to fit over the top of the lap top. There's a little piece of rubber that fits around the backside of the clip to hold it in place. I have a Dell latitude D630 and it fits perfectly with the rubber thing. The picture is great and the Logitech software is very easy to operate. Great buy for the money! Oh and it works flawlessly with skype! (which is what I wanted it for!)

This little camera is a great webcam, good picture and sound quality. Its not the best on the market, but for a cam that comes in usually under 30 bucks, its a winner. I recommend it.

I bought this webcam few days back from Amazon. For the price its OK but the picture quality is very bad. It's Ok for me because I hardly use the webcam. If somebody who is looking for good quality webcam then this is not the one you are looking for..

A nice device that installs easily, delivers what it promises, including excellent quality of image, and the built-in mike works perfectly (unlike other similar devices). Ideal for Vista 64, also unlike the majority of webcams so far.

The webcam is easy to install a child could do it and the picture and voice connection is excellant. A wonderful buy especially for the price... installs and stays put on the laptop without moving around like so many others. I was very pleased with my purchase.

the nicest thing about this webcam is it's very ligtht, portable.. fits on a small pouch-like container. resolution quality is good and it's cheap. it's been one month now and so far i never had any problem. after installing the driver files you're good to go.the only thing that's missing is perhaps a stand so you may also put it on top of a flat surface... with this design, you'll always have to clip it on top of your laptop screen. Other than that, i'm happy with it.

This is a great little web cam that I primarily use for Skype Video calls. When one uses Skype, one can not only see the other person's video but their own. Nine out of ten times, my video quality is superior. The web cam shoots live video, records video on your hard drive, or takes a snap shot. Installation is easy. There is nothing that I do not like about the camera. In addition to all the automatic bells and whistles of the web cam, the lens can be manually focused for fine tuning. The only hitch that I have had is figuring out that the base of the web cam spreads toward its back so that it will fit on my laptop. I have a Lenovo T61 and it is somewhat of a tight fit and I'm somewhat of a Klutz which doesn't make for easy installation.

Good product, it is not always as clear as it says it can be. It sometimes freezes during video chat sessions. It's a little on the pricey side, but I trust a logitech product.

This is a great camera for the price. I use it with Skype and Google Talk, and previously have used it with MSN. I notice no difference between this camera and any others that are more expensive. It has an effective built in microphone.It nicely clips to the top of most notebook computers. If you use a docking station or don't have your laptop open, you'll need to find something else about an inch in width to clip it to. (Mine is on a picture frame next to my monitor when I use a docking station).
