This is a really great and fast scanner, works like a charm and loved it dearly, Cleaned up my desk in about 2 hours.Thought it was a definite keeper. but the Newsoft software came up short on my Mac running MLion.Presto Pagemanager is good enough but the card reader did not work with my OS. Canon said they don't supply the software and Newsoft said I would have to pay for an upgrade, so Amazon graciously took back the scanner, and sent me a FujitsuScansnap, arguably it is not as sharp looking as the Canon but it works like a dream and the Software by Adobe seems to be superior in several ways.

This was exactly what I was looking for! It is so easy to use, that I opened the box and starting using it right away!! It prompts you as you scan and then are able to choose where you want to store your pictures.. perfect for beginners in the scanning world!

Fast & easy, just what I was hunting to replace the scanner on my printer. Much faster, better quality. Wish I could have found a smaller unit, but after researching reviews online, I would have been getting a lesser quality on my photos. Higher quality won.

Was using an HP scanner for years and thought it was the best. Wrong! The Canon scanner has it beat in every way. You can scan more slides and negatives at one time and it separates pictures when more than one is scanned at a time. Excellent value.

All Expectacions are fullfilled. The quality is excellent to transfer and save all my old projects into the digitlal age. Furthermore an excellent scanner for normal jobs. That means, the money is not wasted after you scanned your old slides.

I bought this scanner after reading some reviews from other photographers and they were right on with how awesome this scanner is. I've grabbed my husbands old box of negatives from his band days and produced some amazing old memories of photos he never knew he had.

i don't really care to write a review on something I haven't actually used but if the replacement is as well constructed as the original appears to be it should be of a high quality indeed. I have been running the DR-C125 through the ringer ever since I got it and I hope to be using it far in the future.

This case keeps the scanner and cables very tidy and secure. It's a nice tight fit and feels like there is plenty of protection for general travel.However, the price, I think, is too high for what you get, but it is a great fit, which is something you wouldn't get by using something not made for the job.Hurts to buy but painless to use!

I've had this for a while and I still use it now and then. When I originally got it, I put it through the ringer scanning old film slides. I literally scanned thousands of slides and the scanner held up.I use it with my Mac. I don't remember exactly, but I don't think I had to download any special software. If I did, it was fairly easy.Only downside- I still haven't really figured out how to use the buttons on the front, and I'm too lazy to do so. Since I don't use it often (and since I usually need my USB ports for other things), I just leave this unhooked and plug it in. When I do so, the scanning program pops right up on my computer, making it easy for me to use.

I purchased this scanner as a test for the office and was very impressed. It took a rather long time to install due to all the additional software it seeks to install but most of the programs (especially PaperPort) are worth it. Once installed, this scanner ran everything I threw at it - large, small, or weird shaped pieces of paper. Additionally, it scans very quickly and with vet good quality.Overall, I liked this scanner enough to purchase a whole group of them for the office and the general reviews from users have been positive.

My daughter and I were going to visit her grandfather who has thousands of old negatives and photographs that are decades old. He wanted to start a file where he could have copies of them all on his computer, and his ipad, as well as backup on thumb drives. We compared many scanners and decided on the Canon CanoScan 9000F Color Image Scanner.Never having had this type of scanner before, and not knowing if it would work with all the different types and sizes of negatives he had, I was anxious to try it out. I have to say I was very pleased. It scanned the photographs very quickly, and then we adjusted each one to make it sharper and clearer. It takes a bit longer to scan the negatives, since you have to clip them on the little strip, but it worked beautifully.We got through three decades of pictures so far and will continue with the process until we have all his photograph memories scanned. Grandpa is very pleased to now have these photos at his fingertips. The Canon scanner worked great!

Small, compact. Scans well. Decent but not great paper handling. Barely functional (OSX) software.Basic scanning software is barely adequate. "Additional" included software is useless.Unwieldy paper handling when used in "straight thru" mode.Even if the scan area is only 8.5" it should be able to accomadate a 9x12 sheet.Cannon needs to offer open source developers the ability to write drivers. Then the software would be decent.If Cannon doesn't step up in this area, I'll buy no more Cannon products.

I chose this case because it was offered for free, however, I think every P-150 or P-215 Canon scanner should own one. It is well constructed, and has the perfect size to keep your scanner stored way from dust. I think its a little expensive, but maybe worth it.

Value for money this is still the best Photo scanner out there. The software that it comes with is very good for either Mac or Windows. But for complete color matching I have included Vuescan software. The scanner takes 2 x 35mm film strips, 4 x 35mm slides plus a larger film format strip. There are some other scanners which one can populate the full area of the platen with film or slides but they cost hundreds of dollars more. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I have nothing but praise for the Canon P-150 carry case. It protects the Canon P-150 and is large enough to hold the scanner, power cables, USB data cables, and the optional power supply. The zippers and fabric aren't stressed at all when the scanner and its cables and power supply are inside. Material quality is high, as is the construction of the carry case.

I bought this scanner specifically to scan my old slides and also my printed photos for digital archive. Having spent an entire week working with it, I couldn't be happier.It does a GREAT job with slides, creating a separate file for each image. As long as you leave a gap between printed photos it does the same for those.Easy to use, and produces great image copies.Don't hesitate to buy this product.

I purchased this item in August 2012. Just opened the box to install the scanner and found the installation disk cannot be read by any of my 5 computers. Due to the time frame, I cannot return or exchange the item without a huge penalty. Hate that I paid over $400 for an item I cannot use. Totally stinks.

When my mother-in-law turned 90 it was apparent we were loosing touch with our family's past when the great grand children began asking questions their parents and grand parents could not answer......... Great Grandma had the answers and the negatives to make it real... The Canon 9000F brought the past into focus and the 90th birthday party was a family history lesson brought to life!

I couldn't be happier with this scanner. It replaced our old HP that cost over $600, but which had outlived its compatability situation with computer upgrades. May it rest in peace. Order this baby; you won't be sorry. It's easy to use, cost effective and easy to install.

This scanner is great for scanning everything including photos, negatives (35 mm and 120 only) and 35 mm slides! My previous scanner was so cheap it was frustrating to scan multiple photos and scanning slides and negatives was not good. This scanner makes scanning so quick & easy. I've been using it for only 24 hours and the moment I started scanning photos, slides & negatives, I fell in love with it. It's well worth the purchase. However, I'm giving it 4 stars due to the flimsy plastic frames that hold the negatives, especially for the 35 mm ones. These must be handled with great care so as to not break them. I've already scanned about 50 strips of negatives without a problem but I'm also walking on egg shells wondering if/when it's going to break. Canon needs to pay attention to customer reviews because the attachments seem to be the object of negative reviews. The attachments need to be redesigned. If it wasn't for that, I'd have given it 5 stars. Overall though I love my new scanner.

I've had this for about a month now, and for the most part it does pretty well. Before this, I had been using the Neat Receipts portable scanner.Positives: The P-150 is easy to install, the software is easy to use and understand, and the quality of the scans is pretty good. I really like the deskew feature, especially given that the paper guide is fairly useless and the pages are fed in crooked more often than not (when you're using standard 8 1/2 x 11), or always (when you're scanning anything else). You can switch scanning options (such as two-sided, color, etc.) quickly and easily.Negatives: On occasion it will take more than one sheet at a time. The biggest issue is that it is not a very good scanner for receipts - such as the ones you get from places like Home Depot, or gas stations, etc. It doesn't seem to be able to feed those through even close to straight, and sometimes has a hard time feeding them at all. I don't know what the problem is, if it's the paper type or just the size, or both, but the Neat Receipts scanner does a MUCH better job with those types of receipts.I haven't tried photos on it (I'm using it for a home office), so I can't comment on that. Other than that, it's a decent scanner for documents. I w ould buy it again.Pros: Easy to install and use, good quality, takes up very little space, deskew feature works very well, lots of options.Cons: Paper guide is useless, documents feed crooked more often than not, doesn't handle small receipts well.

This is the second Canon 9000 returning; the first had lots of cover scratches, and the second one failed. All the scans of color pictures, and color negatives had random missing clumps of missing pixels. So all the pictures of people for example looked like they had dandruff....white colored dots all over them. So it is time to return another one. I will try the Epson 600 next, newest reviews sound positive.

I use mine in a small business (70 employees) setting. It does a great job and produces a great PDF. It scans 2 sided if it see anything on the back of a peice of paper and It doesn't if there is nothing there. It also allows you to delete certain pages in the scan if you don't need them and you can rearrange the document if you need to before you save. I LOVE IT!

Like some have noted, a power adapter is a power adapter. You dont need to be spending 30 dollars for this specific power adapter because they are selling it as a high profit margin accessory. Power adapters are generic.The input is one voltage, USA line voltage.Can someone report on the output? You need to know if its AC or DC, what the volage is and how many milliamps or amps. Once you have that info, you can go shopping for a power adapter. At a fraction of the price.

I have used many document scanners, including the Fujitsu, and I can safely say this one is truly the best. While I cannot attest to its longevity, I can absolutely report that it is easy and fast, with great features.I am using it with a Mac, and the Canon software is easy and wonderful. The auto setting works great. It knows if the documents are double sided. It straightens the finished scan if needed. Yes, other document scanners do this accurately, as well.My favorite part is the feeder. Drop in the documents, push the button on the scanner, and away it goes...nice and fast. I like the U-Turn feature a lot, where the finished scan comes right back up vertically.Only one con: The high price. But as we all say...you get what you pay for. High quality. Ease of use. Great speed. Accuracy. Small footprint on the table.If you are digitizing all your documents and bills, this is the scanner to buy if you have the money to spend. Big recommendation. assuming it continues to work solidly for a long time, I am glad I switched to this scanner.

The Scantini replaces my Canon multifunction photo printer/scanner/fax machine, the MP830, after its scanner head broke recently. For document scanning, this device is superb. It offers high scan quality, duplex scanning (both sides at once), TWAIN driver support (so you can use it with Photoshop, Acrobat, etc.) and is very small. The Canon driver for Mac OS X also offers good options and tweaks. I researched several other document-focused scanners and found this to be the best on paper. I haven't been disappointed.My scanning setup (for documents) is to scan at 600dpi into Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for the Mac, which gives you great print scanning with its ClearText feature enabled. I scan all of my financial docs, interesting magazine articles, etc., so it is a mix of glossy magazine pages and matte laser printouts. After scanning, I use Acrobat's "Reduce File Size" option to make the PDFs a manageable size. The Scantini image quality is great, at least the equal of the MP830, and it works very fast.Part of the speed ability for the Scantini is its duplex support. Some scanners, like the MP830, offer duplex by means of running the document through twice. This takes twice as long as the Scantini, which scans both sides of the page at once, and increases the likelihood of a paper jam.The Scantini stands apart from some of its smallish, document scanning competitors like the Fujitsu Scansnap by offering TWAIN support with its drivers. This allows you to use the Scantini with programs that support the TWAIN imaging interface, such as Photoshop and Acrobat. Without TWAIN support, you cannot scan directly into Acrobat. I believe you have to use the bundled scanner software to produce the PDF, then import that PDF into Acrobat for any further work. Beyond creating an extra step, this may result in reduced scan quality, since Acrobat is not working directly on the raw scanned image.A final plus is the small size. The Scantini takes up little space on your desktop and folds up neatly when not in use. It can run off USB power from your laptop and could be taken on a trip, although I wouldn't do so (a bit too big for that and I'd be worried about damaging the scanning head if it was jostled in my bag).Note that I've found the Scantini works great with anything short of a rigid photo or other document. The scanned item needs to be slightly flexible and not too thick to go through the scanner. A photo could go through fine, although the scan quality would be reduced compared to a flatbed scanner that offers greater dots per inch than the 600dpi of the Scantini. I tried scanning a glossy, rigid football game ticket and got poor results, as the thickness of the ticket caused it to skew as it went through the scanner.Also, I give it 4 stars for value for the money because it is expensive (my Canon MP830 multifunction device was $300, I believe, and did more tasks than scanning documents), but it is price-competitive with other inferior (as best as I can tell) document scanners and offers better performance at document scanning than a multifunction device would.

I carry my scanner with me throughout each day for business and this is a heavy duty case for protection, but lightweight and durable. The carry handle means I can just grab and go if all I need is my scanner and laptop. Great product for the price, I highly recommend it if you take your scantini with you.

This scanner arrived quickly even though I used the free shipping option. It came well packed and in good shape. The scanner took a little while to install because it is not exactly plug and play at least for a Mac Computer but when I finally figured out how to get it up and running, it was amazing. I scanned four pictures at a time and was able to edit each one separately. The scans were crystal clear and there are a lot of automatic scan and photo clean up options available. My old scanner took forever to scan one picture at a time and then I had to crop the picture and straighten it manually. With my old scanner, when I tired to scan at higher resolutions, all I got was more dust particles and hairs in the picture. The new led light source does not have to warm up so its fast. I haven't tried all of the features yet like book-scanning so I can't comment on how well it eliminates the gutter. I also haven't tried to scan a negative but I saved all my old negatives so I am eager to see how well it blows up a 35 mm negative into an 8X10. There are cheaper scanners out there but I don't think you will get the features this one has for the price. Also, Adobe Photoshop software comes with the scanner which makes it an even better deal. I was a little disappointed that this scanner did not run the power through the USB port like my old Canon scanner. I had to move a whole bunch of cords around to make room for one more plug. It's also huge compared to the old scanner so make some more room on your desk or printer stand. Other than those two minor complaints I am very happy with my purchase. I hear its nearly impossible to replace the negative holder if you break it so treat it like gold until they fix this oversight.

This compact scanner is pretty handy. It is not super fast (we use Fujitsu S1500's at the office that are much faster, but not compact), but it records pretty good images at a speed comparable to the Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300 Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Mobile Scanner (PA03603-B005) (we have an S1300 for mobile work). The P-150 is more compact than the S1300 and more versatile in that it uses a TWAIN driver as opposed to being limited to creating pdf's. On the other hand, the S1300 has easier software setup and operation, and has a slightly sturdier build. In particular, the feed guides for the P-150 scanner seemed a little delicate. It took a few minutes of work to get the scanner to run on my Mac (this version comes preloaded with windows drivers in the firmware of the unit, but you can easily load mac drivers directly to your system. I think it is ridiculous that you have to buy the ac adapter or use two usb ports. If you are using a compact system, you are probably mobile - which may mean that you lack an outlet, but may also mean that usb ports are at a premium on your laptop. The S1300 comes with both the dual usb option and the ac power adapter. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the look and usability of the P-150. With a few changes, it would be a five star product for sure.

Compared about 5 scanners before choosing this Canon scanner. Arrived on time. Scans very well. I have had this for about 2 months now. Has never jammed. Fairly small footprint on my desk. When you unplug the USB cord from the computer it automatically shuts off. Good quality scans. Scans different sizes very well. No problems at all.

9000F performed as well as expected......resolution is very good....willl not copy very underexposed slides wellbut does great on normal or overexposed slides and photographs. Great buy for the price.....would recommend it.

I've had this scanner for about a year now. I bought it specifically for scanning my dad's 35mm sldies. I'm amazed at how quick and easy it was to set up. I strongly recommend playing with the various settings found under the "Use the Scanner Driver" set-up, rather than the default settings if you have slides that have aged badly (some slides I had were underexposed, some over exposed, some aged badly) and those settings saved me loads of time in PhotoShop.When I purchased this scanner, I was using Windows XP-Pro and it set up quickly and easily. I recently upgraded to Windows 7, and simply downloaded the newest version of the software from the Canon website and was back in business within minutes. I've also scanned paper documents and film negatives with great results.I love this scanner and am thrilled whenever dad finds more of his old 35mm sldies hiding in the back of a closet or bottom of a drawer.
