The iPad is a really cool device... when it works, and if you are a dedicated MAC person. If you are not, your experience is likely to be incredibly frustrating. First of all, having spent an enormous amount of money, not getting a manual is unbelievable. But wait, that's why they want to charge you $99 for a year's worth of customer service, or a smaller sum just to answer a single question!!! The original I bought didn't work and I had to return it. Thank God at least the brief warranty was still effective. I had always heard MACs were reliable and PCs weren't. Wrong!!! I have used MACs before and never understood the buzz. The iPad is neat, but it is buggy as hell and I have problems with it every few months. My PC is quite old and needs to be replaced, I am not even tempted to buy an Apple product, they remind me of old Jaguar XKE's look great, but spend way too much time in the shop!

I had refused to use a tablet because I saw it like a toy. What a mistake! My ipad is the useful tool I have ever had. It is definitely a new paradigm. Everybody can be expert user with a tablet. Apple's ipad offers you a robust platform and also be with the most innovative company in the world. Apple invented tablets and now every other technological company is following it. Four generation of the product in few years it is a enormous advance in your hand. I'm totally happy with my new ipad and now I considering also moving to rest of the apple products.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and love it. Decided to try the new iPad and would like to offer some comparisons.Display - The iPad's display is certainly sharper than the Tab, but not by much.Display size - I prefer the 8.9 size to the iPad's larger screen. Simply easier to carry around. iPad better for reading magazines but prefer the Tab for almost everything else. Really a matter of preference.Speed - iPad is faster.Heat - I live in a warm climate and find the iPad runs hot at times. No problem with the Galaxy Tab.Build quality - About the same. iPad may be a bit better but Galaxy Tab is also well made.Weight - The Tab is feather light, being less than a pound. The iPad feels like a tank in comparison, a major disadvantage.Apps - Although the iPad has significantly more apps, the Android system is starting to catch up. So far, I have found everything I need on the Android app stores.Interface - A matter of preference. I appreciate the tightness of the IOS but prefer the openness and flexibility of the Android operating system.Bottom line. Most people flock to the iPad because it is the best known and best integrated of the tablets. However, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 offers some advantages in size, weight and flexibility. Haven't decided whether or not to keep the iPad.

I don't want to be a fanboy but Apple makes it hard not to. This is an incredible product. The Retina display on the iPad is really something you have to see for yourself. I mean how could a commercial show the clarity when the iPad itself has more resolution than a 1080p display. The beauty of the new iPad is most clear when viewing text, it's just incredibly sharp. Look at a device without Retina support after viewing this iPad and it's amazing how bad the screen will look. You literally won't know what your missing until you see it in front of you.It's heavy though... you probably could use it for a workout or two. :)

This was a birthday gift for my wife and she's loved it. We've had it for almost a year now and have not had any issues with it. We both had iPhones prior to this, so we were already familiar with the interface.

I had both an iPad 1 and iPad 2 prior to purchasing the New iPad (iPad 3?). The iPad 1 is pretty much now obsolete because it is incredibly slow and crashes a lot with the newer apps. There is also no camera on the iPad 1. Therefore, if you are going to upgrade, you might as well upgrade to the iPad 3. Everything is better on the iPad 3 compared to the iPad 1 in terms of screen and speed.However if you currently own an iPad 2, I actually do not think upgrading to the iPad 3 is worth it. For one the iPad 2 and the New iPad look virtually identical. I even brought them both into an Apple Store and the guy that was helping could not tell the difference. You might think you can easily tell the difference with the retina display but you have to look very carefully to be able to tell. Don't get me wrong the retina display is beautiful but you have to look carefully to tell the difference. In terms of speed, I cannot tell the difference between the iPad 2 and iPad 3. The big difference I can tell is the camera in that the New iPad has a 5 megapixel camera.I am giving the New iPad a 4 star rating because it is a great device but in my opinion it is not worth upgrading if you already own an iPad 2.

Some dealers are selling iPad 3s through Amazon. When you search for the iPad 4, the iPad 3 will come up with no indication that it is an iPad 3. Some even have the notation "newest model". The price is virtually the same as a real iPad 4 from Apple! The iPad 3 is very similar to the iPad 4 expect for the processor. The A5X is half the speed of an A6X. Also an iPad 3 is typically going for around $50 less than an iPad 4. Google it.

I have bought iPaf 1 about three years ago, it was good. Now just few days ago I`ve bought iPad 4 (the maximum configuration), it is much faster, good screen resolution, my first impression is very good!

What can I say...great product. I'm not a very techie person but the iPad is user friendly, light, and has a great battery life. The display is crystal clear. I did have to update the software when it arrived because the camera and photo app would not work. I was ready to go the Apple store for them to trouble shoot it but my friend figured it out first.

I received my iPad 3 recently. Having never had one ths is my first. I read all the reviews, over and over. Finally decided to go ahead and buy. I amm so happy with my ipad3! I only have 2 complaints...... #1..... It should come with a manual to help you learn how to use it. I have an iPhone 4 and thought it would be like that....it is not. #2..... I cannot use message the way I do on the iPhone....and I did sign up for the data plan. I called Apple to find out why it does not operate the same as the iPhone. I will probably cancel the data plan before my month is up. Unless someone can give me a reason to keep it.Other than these 2 issues I am happy with the ipad3.

What else can I say? I bought this as a gift for my daughter. A couple weeks later, my husband bought one for me as a gift!!! I use it ALL the time. I love the myfitnesspal app, evernote, Pandora. I bought a small external speaker and I use it to listen to internet radio while I work... must I go on?I use it for personal study, for photos, for keeping in touch... and more.

I just bought the new iPad and had the chance to compare it side my side with our iPad 2. Other people have provided more extensive reviews, but I wanted to give my two cents on the new Retina Display.Photos definitely look more crisp on the new iPad. In particular, areas of photos that include fine detail are noticeably cleaner and sharper. As Apple advertises, if you look closely at, say, someone with a white shirt in a photo on the iPad 2 you can actually see the display pixels, which obviously limits the sharpness of the photo. If you look at the same white shirt on the new iPad you cannot see the pixels; you just see a smooth area of pure white shirt.I think the difference between the new iPad and the iPad 2 is most dramatic when you view print, whether in a browser article or in an electronic book. On the new iPad the boundary between fonts and the white page background is much, much cleaner and sharper. This will make the new iPad much better for reading, with sharper fonts and less eye strain.

I purchased my Ipad 3 from a source listed on Amazon. It was delivered quicker that they estimated and I assume it was new because it came in a sealed original box and was listed as new. I do have some suspecian because of some unusual chats showing up when I tried facetime. Othe wise I am very satisfied. Buying from Amazon makes it easy and merchandise is great.

I was hunting around for a tablet as I had never bought one before and I wanted something smaller than a regular laptop/netbook. This baby does the trick. Its a little more pricey than some of the other tablets on the market but as they say you get what you pay for and apple knows tablets. I've gotten so many free apps that are quite marvelous, I've been able to access all of my e-mail accounts, keep up on the latest soccer and basketball news as well as download books on the Kindle App from Amazon's site. Totally worth the cash and I do have a Android phone so I'm hardly tied to Apple. Very happy with this purchase, you'll wonder how you got along without it

I bought this for my 54 yr old husband who is "TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGED". He struggles with texting on his cell phone...for heavens sake! If there is any kind of problem with computers, phones or internet, I have to figure it out.I bought this tablet for him and he absolutely loves it! A chimpanzee can use it. There are no user manuals that he has to read...just turn it on. He carries it everywhere.I researched pricing and Amazon.com was the best deal by far PLUS it arrived in 3 days! Amazing! I would highly recommend the IPAD for anyone who gets overwhelmed with technology and even for grandparents (it has skype)! It is worth the money!

It is the best thing since sliced bread! Love my iPad. The whole family uses it. Kids read books on it which is a great way to get them into reading more, especially considering the books can be very interactive. Great for quickly looking stuff up with out busting out a bulky lap top. Games, movies, apps...seriously really fun! When the iPad 1st came out, I thought I really wouldn't buy one because it's just like the iPhone, but having that big screen for certain things is really great!

I'm so in love with my iPad. So very convienant everywhere I go. I have downloaded a lot of my favorite songs. This iPad serves just as good as a computer, but mini sized. Takes fantastic pictures, very clear. Video is a plus and records sound too. I subscribe to Clearwire so I get wifi everywhere I go. If ur considering this instrument do not hesitate any longer.

I originally bought the iPad 2 to save some money, but I soon found myself disappointed in the quality of the text resolution for web browsing, reading books, etc. It bothered me so much that I took it back to the big box store from whom I purchased it after 10 days.While there, I played with the 3rd generation iPad and was immediately blown away by the higher resolution, and of course this is the big draw for this new iPad, the new screen. I immediately ordered the "new" iPad from Apple when I got home. In my opinion, it is totally worth the extra $ for a crystal clear display in all aspects of use. Don't bother with the iPad 2 unless a bit of fuzziness is ok with you for surfing or reading, or if the price is an issue. Aside from that, this 3rd gen iPad "seems" pretty much the same as the iPad 2 in most other aspects. Ok, it's slightly thicker & heavier than the ipad 2, but those things don't bother me in the least. The clarity alone is worth every extra cent...Loving it!

Had my iPad 3 for probably 6 months, having bought the first and second generation ones previously. The WiFi got slower and slower. Had Verizon out to my home for 1/2 a day - they checked everything. Ipad worked fine for another month then WiFi slowed to a crawl. My wife's Ipad 2 continues to have no WiFi problems. This appears to be a problem with iOS6 - it is well documented at the large company I work for. No more Apple products for me.

My iPad was delivered in time for my birthday. There are a billion reviews on the iPad so I would refrain from adding anymore. Please make sure you use your receipt and invoice to avail Apple's 1 year hardware warranty. The package arrived in good condition, although I was surprised to see UPS leaving it in my porch with entire parking lot having a view of it.

I have owned and purchased the iPad1,2,3, Samsung Tab, and a Kindle Fire. After having spent over 20 years working for two large major computer companies, I have to say that Apple set the standard with the iPad3. What won me over with Apple is the fit and finish, quality, ease of use and battery life! Of all the devices listed above, the iPad3 is the one I am using on a daily basis. It is probably the first thing I reach for and the last thing I put down before going to bed. The things that I am most amazed about it are the crisp display, the battery life, and the speed when browsing. Biggest thing I wish Apple would do is to allow flash to be played on its products....it would be perfect beside that one "flaw."

I love this I pad and the price was great,my daughter wanted an I pad to take with her to school,money was tight so I looked at my options and amazon was the best choice,I saved about 300.00 and got the special finanacing.so we bought it ,theipad was a store return ,came with warranty,case,screen protector,car charger,and headphones,much to my surprise was in pristine condition Amazon is the best place for great deals.thanks amazon

I sold my first generation iPad so I could take advantage of all that the New iPad has to offer. I have not been disappointed. The speed and clarity of the screen is worth every penny. I trying to retire my laptop so I needed a more powerful and robust tablet computer to take its place. I highly recommend this product.

Using Amazon Prime seems to always be a joy and this was no exception. My apple iPad 3 arrived in seeminglyperfect condtion, ordered as a new unit, and I have been having the greatest time learning how to use it. Therewas 1 surprise and that was finding a 'Moon' shot of some ones ass already in my photo section. I am still tryingto clear it away completely. Any thoughts anyone?Jim Johnson

I got one month ago and with a little hunt and peck, downloading app of tricks and secrets, and sharing information with other iPad users, this thing does everything and does it well. I have easily connected up with my home and business computers and use a $30 bluetooth keyboard for heavyduty work. Anyone who is computer challenged or just a bit mentally dim must get some help from fellow iPad users. This device is truely awesome. P.s. just plug I the earphones and the surround sound quality will blow you away! There are thousands of free, usefull apps available and the more expensive apps are $.99 or $1.99.

I bought it three days ago and it was a second hand "like new". It is working very well, came fast and we also received a case for it as a gift. It was a good deal! We also could go to the apple store and register it under the new name. This ipad was bought two months before and we still have 11 days for getting some support online if we need to. My son is having lots of fun and we could downloud some educational games. My husband and I didn't have our turns yet. But we checked and we can access our emails. Our family is very happy!

I am beginning to lose all respect for Apple. The file transfer system on the iPad is a joke. They want to make it as inconvenient as possible to transfer files from a PC (or anything else) to it. Apple wants you to use iTunes, of all things, to transfer files. This from a company that invented Drag n Drop. They also don't want to support Adobe's flash player. So once again the customer suffers.By the way, Apple should treat it's workers with a lot more respect. When workers start jumping off tall buildings, maybe you could give them a short break.

I switched from the ipad 2 tot he ipad 3, I have to say that the ipad 3 isnt much different from the ipad 2, it just has a better camera, voice to message, and a bit faster. That being said i guess I expected a little more for the new generation. But of course I still love the display and what nots. Still a great tablet (the best).

I can't begin to explain just how awesome the new iPad is. The camera is exceptional for not having a flash, the device is incredibly responsive and I love reading on it. Surfing the web is so much more fun now and all your iPod iPhone apps will run on it, just won't be as pretty or sometimes as detailed as the iPad versions. Watching movies on the larger retina display makes you feel bad for those saps watching on HD tvs.

Certainly it was a good buy amount a lot options, immediately it arrives, after I fully charge it, I test it and probe it all its abilities, as one of the best tablet in the market.I received my Ipad at time within the promised for the seller, who did very well, I recommend him and sure will buy again.
