This was my first and last Apple product. It works wonderfully, the screen is beautiful and the apps perform almost flawlessly. What I dislike was 97 days after I bought it they came out with a new model that made mine obsolete instantly. Seven months later the same thing happened and now mine was 2 generations old in les than 10 months. I am not against implementing new advances but Apple knew way before I bought mine that I was buying something that would be obsolete in 11 months and they sold it to me at full price. I can hear their CFO saying: 'another sucker we took money from with an obsolete product sold as if it was the top of the line'. I expect better of the companies I buy expensive hardware from, that if they know what is going to happen just start discounting the current - but soon to be obsolete product - so the CUSTOMERS would stay loyal. They had me and they lost me. Good luck to them with their bait and switch way of doing business.

First no support for Flash. This is a huge problem. How can you not support this? Is it being fazed out, yes, but not for a long time. The lack of Flash hurts a lot of the websites I have tried to go to.Next, their new maps support. These maps are terrible. Why kick the company to the curb that has already done all the work, put all the money needed into it, and is proven itself. Why? Apple has gotten a big head again, and believes that whatever it makes it just has to be better.Touch sensitivity: I used my friends iPad 2 for awhile after he upgraded to the iPad 3. He told me I had to try the new version. The touch sensitivity seems to be off. It does not have the response of the iPad 2, Samsung Tab, or even a Kindle I used to have.Retina display failure: I see no difference between the iPad 2 and the new iPad. If you are looking at upgrading to the new one for its display don't. There is nothing special about it. It is just a numbers game.Must use iTunes: iTunes is one of the main reasons I will never own an Apple product. This software is awful. I cannot believe they have not made it easier to use. If you want to buy all your stuff through apple then yes, oh yes they make it easier. But what if you are not brain wasted by apple and you want to use Amazon to get your music for a better price? Not so easy to get it on the iPad. The software is a joke.No support for other video formats. This device unlike all its competitors has said no to supporting standardized formats. If you are buying this device and wanting to transfer your current videos to it, don't. It will only support the apple format.Your apple ID: This is nearly the worst part of the iPad itself. You cannot do anything on the iPad without this ID. It is terrible, and if you forget your security questions you will need a crack team that can get into Fort Knox to get back in. Why are these questions so important? Well it took me over a month to help my mother fully get back into her apple ID because if you upgrade to a new apple product and you do not know those questions? Good Luck! You may never get back in. And if you have spent a lot of money in iTunes it could be lost. BEWARE: write down your security questions. So much for ease of use. I have had in the past year family come up saying with a big smile I just got the iPad. I tell them good luck with that. They go off and "play" with it for awhile. Then they come back and ask how to you download apps, how do you transfer music, how can you put DVD's I already own on it, how can I view this website it says flash not installed, and the list goes on. It took only about a month for one family member to ask me what is this good for then?I then smiled.I stand by my word. It is an overpriced toy.

As my title says I'm an Android man, this is my first iOS device. There probably isn't much to be said that hasn't already been covered by more experienced users, so I'll be brief. I bought this with the idea to use it for a few months and then give it to my wife who's been asking for one for awhile. I was planning to get an Asus Transformer for myself. Having used this for a month so far, I now find myself on the fence...while I love the customizable features of android (usually root my devices and load custom ROMS), the ease of use and final polish of this pad is phenomenal. I like the screen, the size and I think I might actually prefer the 4:3 screen ratio to the widescreen of the asus, as it means less scrolling when browsing the web in landscape mode.Ultimately, the new iPad is undeniably a 5 star device regardless what we of the Android community spew against it. So if you like iOS, or want THE tablet all other tablets are judged by, you should probably buy this one. As for me, I'll continue hemming and hawing, for the next couple months while I use this iPad (much to my wife's distress) while I continue trying to decide if I really want to abandon my beloved android.***Update***So my wife and I have been using it consistently for about 2 months now, and my main aggravation with the iPad is simply that there is no native file management system in place. Example: I want to create a text file with my passwords on it. However, I don't want any person that comes along to open the notes app, see my file and be able to open it. I prefer to be able to "bury" it in a hidden folder somewhere within the operating system. I would also like the option to easily rename files, and organize my Pictures, Music and personal documents in my own folders, i.e. a "My Documents" folder. I debated dropping a star on the iPad for this inflexibility in the iOS, but I knew about this "shortcoming" (as least in my eyes) before buying it. I just didn't realize how heavily it would impact my day-to-day use. In the end, I will be buying myself an Android tablet while the wife will use the iPad.***Final Update***So I finally ended up purchasing an Asus TF300 for myself and have been using it for about a month. My reasons were mainly because I wanted the flexibility of a file management system and the ability to more thoroughly customize my home screens (i.e. widgets and such). While I'm happier with my Android tablet, I still think the iPad a 5 star device, while I'll probably give the Asus 4 1/2 stars. The build quality just can't compare, the retina screen on the iPad is beautiful, and the stability of the OS is rock solid. Of course, the price of the iPad is more steep, and it came with 1/2 the memory, but 16GB should be plenty for most users and anyone who isn't SURE they want the Android, would probably ultimately be happier with the iPad. Hope this helps any of you "on the fence", Good luck!

Beware buyer... This used to be a pretty good companion to life but with IOS-7 I'm thinking about smashing it with a hammer. I really was going to upgrade to an IPad with larger internal storage but have SERIOSLY changed my mind. I have been an IPad user since the first generation. This retina display 64 is my 4th IPad and the pad itself is great but the operating system is now AWFUL.The keyboard is frustrating with many quirks. He functions operate at a much slower speed, the battery life is greatly diminished, with the new calendar app you may as well just use an old paper day timer. Safari takes longer to load up internet pages....and much more. The new upgrade is a farce and I will not buy another iPhone (on my 5th) or iPad again. Once these are gone, I will not replace them. My suggestion would be to learn another operating system. Androids are cheaper, and I've found my Kindle to be a new companion and easier to use since IOS-7. The system used to be very user friendly and actually kinda classy looking, but now it's design takes after operating in an old Windows computer in SAFE mode 24-7. And who wants that. It is absolutely NOT visually stimulating at all. We went from a classy Cadillac Made In the USA look to a cheap Chinese knockoff. Again, buy something else.... Apple has stepped into the Microsoft realm of hated upgrades....

The problem with Apple products is the absolute abismal customer care for their products. For the product price, you'd expect more than to have your account disabled with no reason provided. "Your Apple ID has been disabled." That's all you get. Just Google it! I spent hours going through the reviews of people trying to find out how to get their accounts reinstated. Finally, I found the link. No number to call. I was told to reset the user name and password. Done! No good. Work week starts. Phone goes back on the backburner. Try again a few days later. Same results, but someone emails me back this time. Tells me to go to the "provided" link and try again. Done! Same result. Someone else emails me. I changed my credit card info some time ago. That was it. I need to go to the ITUNES store and manage my account. Oh. That sends me back to reset my account yet again. I did manage to stumble across a number, finally. 1-800-myapple. I call it. A virtual person answers the phone. Had to find my serial number. 40 minutes later, yes, I timed it, a human answers the phone. He's friendly. He confirms my serial number and apologized for my wait. Apparently they can tell how long I've been on the phone too. Bad news. He has to forward me to the security folkes. Looks like that is going to take another 20 minutes. Do I mind waiting? Oh. I could be grading papers or doing something productive, but why not. Let's wait! That's where I am now in fact ...still waiting...58 minutes and 24 seconds later...I just don't think apple products are worth it. The apps are what makes them productive and fun, but when they cancel your account, you can't update your apps and you certaintly can't add new ones. I can't help but wonder how many people are out there whose Apple products simply aren't working all because the customer service is so bad. I suppose the 1 hour and 6 minutes I've been waiting now should provide a clue. My first apple rep--I haven't spoken to the second one yet, told me there's a lot of people trying to get their accounts fixed. By the way, if you call Apple with your cell phone, make sure you plug it into your charger. Otherwise, you will need to go find it around 1 hour and 10 minutes. OK, I'm still waiting on that second person to answer the phone, so I think I will go provide Apple a few more reviews. Time now 1 hour and 22 minutes...and counting.

I ordered and paid for a 4th generation I-Pad with retina and received a 2nd generation I-Pad from Amazon. The two I-Pads look identical and the only reason I caught the difference was the charger cord. The 4th generation uses a smaller plug compared to the 2nd generation. Amazon was called immediately about the screw up wherein the correct I-Pad was mailed via Fed-X with one day delivery to me. I sent the 2nd Generation back and shipping was paid by Amazon. My credit card was debited twice until Amazon rec'd the 2nd Generation I-pad back. Once my credit card rec'd the credit there was a note that it had been returned because of being shipped late. This was obviously not the reason and couldn't be further from the truth.Just be aware that a 2nd Generation I-Pad looks the same as the 4th Generation with the exception of the charger plug. Make sure you check the model of your I-Pad found in the settings area. The 2nd Generation cost less than the 4th Generation by a couple hundred dollars.

I have had an iPad 1 for about 2 years. With the apps that I use through the Apple store, I have gotten more than enough use out of it. The iPad 2 was not enough of a generational jump without upgraded graphics, and the iPad 3 wasn't enough because of the resolution of the camera. However, this model is truly a wonder and it will be with me until iPad 8 comes out, I suppose. The integrated camera has excellent resolution, as does the video. The processor is perceivable faster for graphics intensive games such as those by Gameloft, EA Sports and the like. Sound seems to have improved, as well.Although the latest rendition uses a different port from the predecessors, it's easier to use since either orientation will work. It does essentially make my accessories, though, obsolete. That means a new speaker dock, car charger and whatever else I may need. However, I have become accustomed to using Bluetooth peripherals making connectivity more seamless.Operation is pretty much identical, and then there's Siri. I find limited use for Siri since I have a Wifi-only iPad. I can type faster than hold the Home button to talk, and voice recognition is ok. Not great. I can touch type must faster than Siri can understand me and react. However, I'll give it more time. The housing is as small as iPad 2 and 3. Battery life is essentially the same since Bluetooth and Wifi are always on with a 75% brightness. The volume control is responsive.Since I have over 1200 apps, I'm pretty much stuff with Apple. That is the main reason I haven't considered other operating systems, apart from the Kindle Fire.Overall, I'm pleased. If you don't have an iPad, this is finally the one. If you're waiting to upgrade from iPad 1 or 2, then it's a no-brainer. iPad 3 is certainly not that much behind. Intuitively, I prefer to have a jump in processing, graphics, sound and resolution before I plan to update, again.I love this device. Two thumbs up.Update:I decided to jump up in memory to the 128 GB version. Music, movies and applications take up a lot of memory. Aside from the jump in memory, there are no discernible changes in operation or battery life.

Okay, first of all I have read through about 10 customer reviews of this new iPad 3rd Gen. I must say that I am very impressed at some of these "editorial like reviews". Well after all of the technical stuff, I'd like to just keep it plain and simple.I never owned an iPad before last week. I was always saying that Apple was overrated and actually they're not. I have owned all kinds of "other" cellphones, smartphone and tablets. Well, last month I finally brokedown and purchased an iPhone 4S and now this cool looking iPad 3rd gen 32GB. I will just say that it makes my Samsung Galaxy Tab look pretty lame and boring. I had ordered mine online and could not wait for it to arrive earlier this week. Well anyway, I opened it up registered it on iTunes and began to sync it to my account. Well after that I began to mess around with everything and had so much fun doing so, that I didn't go to bed until really late. I was impressed that it was fully charged up when I turned it on for the first time. The graphics are second to nothing elso out. I purchased some Beats by Dre Studio headphones so I could listen to music and movies in quiet places. I love everything about the new iPad...I really don't even need a regular desktop anymore. I have considered buying an iMac desktop maybe later on down the road. I heard that some people complained about the iPad getting hotter than normal on one side, well mine has not so far, I assume Apple fixed the problem with that. Now, on the flip-side of the coin, I must say this new iPad is really heavy and dense like, I am turned off from that aspect, especially since a lot of reviews say the iPad 2 is much lighter, why is this one so heavy!? Secondly, I think this model should have an sD card reader and at least one USB 2.0 port. Lastly, I think they should have added Siri to this new iPad since she's such a hit with the iPhone 4S.Well hopefully this review is pretty simple to absorb and can be really helpful to someone. All and all, I really enjoy my "new iPad", but the last things I mentioned above is the reason why I gave it an 8/10 or equally 4/5 stars rating.**Forgot to mention**, iTunes is really cool and now they have the iCloud feature. So what ever you decide to download it will automatically appear in other Apple devices that you have registered. I currently own 2 other devices and it's nice not to have to download everything via the computer, with iCloud it's already there.**UPDATE** 9/22/12 A few days ago, I was able to update my iPad 3rd Generation to iOS 6 (so this means "Ms. Siri" is now available on this generation of iPads). I said thank you, they have answered our prayers. One strange thing that happens when you update your operating system is the YouTube App disappears...IDK what that's about.

I pre-ordered my new iPad and got it on Friday, 3/16/12. It is my first iPad. I do own an iPhone 4S, and I did briefly purchase an iPad2 back toward the end of January. However, I took it back because I expected that the display would equal to that of my iPhone4, but it was not. I heard there would be a new one coming out in the spring, so I returned my iPad2 within one week of purchasing it. I only played with it a day or two, and so glad I did return it. The new iPad was more than well worth the wait! :)Words simply cannot describe just how intense the screen resolution is, and how vibrant the colors are. Simply SPECTACULAR!! Stunning! The speed is excellent, the photos are crisp and clear, and if someone has a small piece of fuzz on their hair, for example, it will clearly be seen in their photo, as was such with one photo that I took! :)I own a white 16GB Wi-Fi only version. There are a few issues that I have experienced, however, and also read on the Apple Support Forum that others are also experiencing. I also took my new iPad to my local Apple Store yesterday to ask some questions.First, the new iPads heat up. This is due to the new and larger battery. I was told at the Apple Store that this is nothing to be concerned about. Some, although not myself, claim that their new iPads are actually too hot to touch. I have not experienced that. Mine does get extremely warm, but, nowhere near too hot too tiuch. So, you may want to beware of that, and purchase a Smart Cover to fold and hold your iPad with. (It's a good idea to have one to protect your screen, also! :))I have also experienced issues with iTunes, and read others have, too. ITunes simply "kicked me out" when I tried to look at movie information, not even trying to download a movie. It kicked me out and returned to the home screen. It did this several times. Tried the re-boot, but still kicked me out. Others have reported problems with downloading content from iTunes, as well. I don't know why this is happening. I heard that one possibility could be that with so many new iPad users, all trying to sync and download, that it is causing these issues. Or, it could be a glitch that will need to be corrected by Apple. Just don't know. I'm not worried about it though, because I feel confident that it will be resolved in one way or another. The battery seems to drain pretty quickly. Especially for me because I crank my screen up to maximum brightness. :) And, so far, my new iPad takes an INCREDIBLY long time to charge. I was told at the Apple Store to be sure to let the battery run all the way down before charging, and that after a few times doing that, this will improve. Time will tell! I've read others also are experiencing this issue. I bought a 6 foot charger at the Apple Store yesterday so that I can plug in and charge, and still use while charging it. I found out that it is completely safe to use the new iPad (or any iProduct) while charging, so, that is very helpful to me.I am in love with my new iPad, and am VERY, VERY happy with it. I recommend to all. :) It is truly incredible, and better than I ever imagined it would be. :)

I use I phone. I liked it. the GUI and the build quality. I thought I give it a try with Ipad.I tried android tabs for comparsionThese are my findings. This is keeping performance/ eccosystem support etc appart.- It looks like a huge phone. The static icon based UI which is same as iphone's looks toyish. The GUI is not suitable for a serious device for this size. It industrial design the GUI has the toyish look and feel. Apple products excpet iphone and mackbook pro has this problem of toyish look.- The aspect ratio of the screen. lack of 16:9 robes the entertainment of movie watching or consuming media. This is a big draw back. netflix movies look way better in Toshiba or any other android tab. With the added resolution this is more of a high resolution e-reader. in which it excels. or for viewing still photos. Motion picutre doesnt have the movie feeling but feel like viewing an ameture clipping. You wont enjoy the movie as much on an android device.- For vedeo content this DPi is redudant. Movies / videos doesnt require that pixel density. This is very much suitable as a photo frame. book reader. orgraphs . prductivity tool for ptohgrpahers etc. not good for video. The frame rates for the movies/videos seems to be diffrernt it feels again like amaterurish or a video clip feeling to it. Movies are not rendered in standards movie frame rate. It looks busy like a home video. The screen also looks unnaturally bright more of a clinical appearance.- The Screen colour gamut is not neutral. Its too busy or reddish. Transormer pad/ Toshiba has neutral/natural color for movies and regular websites. At first it may look vibrant and striking. But in long use it's too artificial boosting of colors or contrast and brighneess.- The GUI lacks the dynamic feel which adds feel to the overall veiwing media consumption experience. This GUI is at best good for a phone size device.- The build quality. Material quality is superior. The performance / the touch interface is superior as usual.- Overall design the OS/GUI are not built towards media or video experience rather for static content viewing of for games. If you are not watching movies or other media but mostly use this for still , photo sharing, e-bbok reading, games etc then this is a good fit. For anyting dynamic content this doesnt just have the feel.

Ignorance is bliss. I work at BestBuy and people always ask me "APPLE or ANDROID." Of course it depends on the user and most people who come in the store weren't technologically savvy. So, the majority of people wanted something easy to pick up and learn. Therefore, the majority of my recomendations were the iPad. I am in college and I have an internship. Both of these roles I use the iPad in. I am even using my iPad right now. I have a Macintosh computer and I found myself using my iPad for the majority of my computing needs. The iPad has also paid itself off by the cost of Text Books alone. Every book I get on my iPad saves me on average about $100. E text books are much cheaper than buying books on campus. I also have a keyboard case which they sell on Amazon for less $50.00. I use an app called Pages, which is an Apple developed app, that allows me to edit, import and export Word Documents. Not to mention its movie and music capabilities. I also invest heavily and the iPad has made my life so much easier when it comes to managing my investments and banking. Overall, the iPad has been a life saver for me and my family. Also, another great product that is a must have is a Zagg Invisible shield. They are a little difficult to put on but they have instructional videos on how to do it. Thanks for reading.

If you're not a technical person or want something that just works and is simple enough to set up, the iPad 3 is the way to go. iOS is set up with a very simple interface for people who just wants to get the job done and nothing else. I received the iPad 3 16GB (wifi only) model as a gift two months ago and it has been working flawlessly and I love it. I love Android devices too, however, I had a bad experience with the one I bought and I regretted not spending the extra $100 on the iPad earlier.Pros:I have had zero problems with the iPad. The display is very bright (but I usually keep it at a low setting). The whole device is built to feel very durable and responsive. My previous tablet, every time I tapped the screen, I felt like I had to be extra careful because it always felt like it was so delicate and would shatter. The battery life lasts for three days for me on average, even with a decent amount of game playing. It's easy to set up. Has a lot of accessories you could find for it with no problems everywhere.. even in a street stand in NYC. I also haven't had the problem where it heats up easily even with games. It is fast and the experience of using it is very smooth. It shuts off quickly, turns on quickly, loads apps quickly. I love the multi-touch gestures. I can switch between apps with no lags and no freezes.Cons:16GB should be sufficient, but sometimes I feel like these apps are huge and will deem this 16GB model as "not standard" anymore. In fact, three games I downloaded raged at the 500-550MB size. And since the storage isn't exactly 16GB, it leaves me with even less space. You could always use cloud storage for other files like photos and music, but you'd always have to have internet to access those files so try to leave the least used stuff in cloud storage.I'll also have to admit that the iPad does take a long time to charge. I think it took about 4 hours to charge, two days ago. Another con is that it's a bit heavy and a bit thicker. It's not very noticeable compared to the iPad 2, but for general use and holding it up to read, it does get tiring, so this might not be the device mainly for extensive reading with one hand. There's also no SD slot where you can expand memory, but then again, I realized many other tablet manufacturers stopped doing that also. I don't mind anyway as I feel like the SD slot would just ruin the design of the iPad. Now I just feel like I should have gotten the 32GB one!

If you take anything from this review it is that you should invest in protecting your iPad. I use the Zagg Invisible Shield HD and the STM Grip Case (i have reviewed both).Pros:-Portability allows you to always take it with you-Ridiculously Long Battery Life. Apple boasts a 10 hour battery life and with brightness adjustment it could certainly last longer.-Retina Display (HD videos and apps are stunning)-Front and back Camera great for Skyping/Photos-Smart cover saves the sleep button from overuse/malfunction-Speak to type feature is there but more of a novelty feature-Great for notetaking/school-New Apps released often including free apps-Many many shortcuts make it stand out such as a quick mute feature-Notification bar is great a great way to receive facebook messages/twitter mentions*Siri to be released soon exclusively on the new iPad.*iCloud feature that I have not used at all do to slow internetCons:-Apple's touch screen keyboard is awkward and the biggest complaint i have (Docked or Split).-The built in speaker is okay but could be louder in my opinion-If overused the battery section of the iPad can be hot to the touch (can be negated with case).-May end up spending a lot on pricey apps (225,000 in App Store) so look into jailbreaking-Rear Camera is high quality but front camera not so much-Can promote carpal tunnel syndrome (Stylus can help)-No USB or SD Card slot-Limited to Skyfire Browser's Flash capabilitiesFavorite Apps by Category:Game Apps:-DreamLeague (Soccer app)-Peggle HD-Words With Friends HD-Fruit Ninja HDSocial Apps:-Facebook-Twitter-SkypeBrowsers:-Skyfire Browser (For Flash Videos)-Safari is my go to browser otherwise-Have heard Chrome is fast but have not tried itStreaming Apps:-Netflix-Amazon Instant Video-WatchESPNMiscellaneous Apps:-Alien Blue (Reddit)-Notability (Taking Notes with a stylus)-iBooks (Reading books you can get for free off the internet ;) )Lastly, SHORTCUTS. The new iPad has many shortcuts such as swiping with 4 fingers to switch between apps or quickly adjust brightness. Look into all the shortcuts that the new iPad features so you do not have to slowly learn them on your own like i did.****If you have any questions or comments i would love to hear it****

In the family we have the iPad, Kindle fire, Samsung Galaxy and Goggle Nexus 7 tablets. So having used all four brands here is my take on the iPad.Pros:Very fast.Excellent for surfing the web and navigating around apps.User friendly.Very Good battery life.Malware free worries.Good speaker volumes.Good for game apps.Bluetooth.Even pixation.Plenty of accessories online for it.Front and back cameras.Cons:Not the best Colors even with retina display. I wish that they were as vivid as Kindle fire HD for video streaming.Screen loves fingerprints.Cost more.Does not support SD memory card (Only Samsung Galaxy does of the four brands that I have used).Costly brand power adapter.Does not use a universal power adapter like all the other brands. You can not use a universal usb micro cable to charge it from your laptop. You are sucked into buying a new brand adapter, if you forget the brand power adapter at home on a trip.Unlike the other brand tablets, you can not recharge the Ipad with a universal cigarette power adapter from your car or with a universal usb micro cable connected to your laptop. As it is the tablet is already costly enough, why make more money from users if they forget their power adapter?Recommend for surfing the web or using game apps. Not the best for online video streaming. Kindle Fire beats them all for online streaming of videos.Recommend the following products:1.ZAGGKeys PROfolio+ Bluetooth Keyboard for iPAD Gen 4.2.Skinomi TechSkin ultraclear screen protector for iPAD Gen 4.

This is my second iPad mainly because I wanted to upgrade to the Retina display and have a 4G cellular connection. (I have no complaints about either iPad - they're very useful devices and deserve 5 stars.) Because I had talked with Verizon customer service before purchase, I knew I wanted the prepaid option and ability to suspend auto-payments.The rep's advice was to open a separate email account for the iPad (I used a free gmail address). I was told there have been problems with AOL accounts in particular. I was also warned NOT to delete the account or phone number when I wanted to stop auto-pay because that would necessitate a replacement of the SIM card. He said I could uncheck the auto-pay option in the cell account settings on the iPad. With that information, I found registration was painless and fast.I used the iPad on a long west coast car trip, accessing the Internet in the car for 3-4 hours a day. As always, Verizon's coverage was good and fast. I found that 2-gigs of data were enough for web surfing, checking email and GPS work. I let the plan auto-renew so I'd have enough data for the last few days of the three-week trip. When I returned home, I wanted to suspend the auto-pay so I went searching for the 'turn-off' option on the iPad. No luck. I called Verizon and the rep quickly deleted the auto-pay feature from my account. She also told me about that option on the iPad but when she looked for it on the iPad 3, couldn't find it either.I plan to use the Verizon access intermittently over the next year, so here's what she told me to do to make sure I wasn't receiving unauthorized charges: Call Verizon to stop auto-pay (800-786-8419), then re-enter credit card information and choose a plan when I want to restart. She said there was no problem in calling them for cancellation as many times as I wanted.Seems clunky to me and I don't understand why I can't manage the account from the iPad, but at least Verizon is responsive and helpful. If I was a bit more of a skeptic, I'd theorize that Verizon makes the deactivation a bit murky in the hopes that users will let the plan roll over rather than call.

I decided to consolidate my digital life from my 3DS, Android Tablet and a few other gadgets into the new iPad. I ended up selling all that other stuff to pay for the $499 iPad that I bought at Best Buy. I'm typically an Android guy as I own the Droid Bionic and have only used Android phones since the original Droid. The only experience I had with iOS was with a second generation iPod touch I bought 3 to 4 years back that I enjoyed. My experience with the new iPad has been very positive. The battery life is fantastic, the screen is so enjoyable to read news articles and watch TV shows through Netflix and other streaming software. I've had two tablets before the iPad (Galaxy Tab and HP Touchpad) and iPad is the only device I've actually wanted to watch HD shows on. In almost all cases, anything I watched on my iPad seemed just as sharp and colorful as my HDTV and much sharper than my laptop screen. Top it off the device is quiet with no mechanical fans running in the background so your watching experience is really luxury stuff. I would note the external speaker is nothing special and that any type of TV or movie watching should be accompanied by a nice set of comfy headphones.iOS in many ways doesn't seem all that different at the core from when I had my 2nd gen iPod touch. It seems Apple has taken a more evolutionary approach to iOS while Google has tried to take giant leaps in user interface design. (Ice Cream Sandwich). In many ways however this has boded well for Apple. the A5X processor (pretty much the same as an A5 just optimized for retina) tears through the menus with elegance and smoothness unlike anything in the market. That type of smoothness in transitions creates an experience where you stop caring about the clockspeeds and dual cores and ram and just concentrate on what you're doing which eases my techy brain into a calm state.I wanted to also note that the heating "problem" people seem to have doesnt' bother me. I rarely heats up and when it does it's just a tad warm nothing more. I recently put it in leather-ish case for protection reasons that seems to have reduced the heat on my hands as well. The battery charge time isn't a big deal to me because I charge my devices overnight and the slight change in heft is laughable as my last tablet (HP Touchpad) was a blimp in comparison.Ultimately to sum it up, the screen has made this device superior in many ways to almost every device I have in my apartment. It's THE screen to use when watching video and reading and it's super sharp and clear. The software support on iOS is the best of the best and the slick transitions make this a great device for almost anybody wants a great computing device when in bed, on the couch or on the go. Highly recommended.

The retina screen looks beautiful and clear. Im still using the ipad now and reading and watching videos on it has been great. Its a little heavy and the charging takes a little long. Will wait to see how the new Ipad looks like this year. The price on this listing is a little expensive for something thats like 3 years old.
