It is a gift to my wife who is being treated for ovarian cancer. She watches her favorite TV shows (Castle, for one) and plays solitaire during her chemo treatments that can take 4 or 5 hours. She loves it.

Bought this for my girlfriend. She likes it. I do not know much about these toys but one thing I did notice that is a pain is that the screen will flip/rotate depending on how you are holding it. I understand why it does that but I wish there was some way to disable that. Sometimes when I am laying down reading an ebook on the iPad the screen is constantly rotating and I am constantly having to change my body position. Super annoying.

My friend lets me use the 32GB 3rd gen iPad they gave her with her job, because she doesn't care for it. I could point out its one or two flaws, but that would be ungrateful. Instead, I will say that the iPad has allowed me to ditch Verizon because now I can call with my free MagicJack app from any cafe in town, at friends' houses, and from the wifi in my studio. It's interesting the way a PC gives you more freedom of choice with modular components, while almost literally anchoring you to a monthly DSL bill (now a more bloated cable or FiOS bill), while the iPad is the opposite; a greedy control freak who lets you do whatever you want for free if you're clever. All things considered, the iPad is fun technology, and Apple does it well.

I had the Motorola Xoom prior to purchasing the iPad. I switched to Apple because the Xoom was getting slow, unresponsive, etc. I'm very happy with the iPad - so much so that I'm going to switch to all Apple products over my pc and android phone.

This was a gift for my Sister who could buy anything she wants herself but thought they just were a little to pricy for her. My niece recently moved pretty far away. My Sis ids very close with her daughters. So as a gift now she can FaceTime with my niece, because my Sister got her one just before she moved. My sister doesn't show emotion often, but when she saw this she broke down. Also my Sister's a devote Nook fan, well iTunes has an app for that. My Sis signed in and it was in color, easy to remove, and move around her books. A BIG A+++++ FOR ME!!!!!

could not download my apps and over 300 books from older i-pad, kept getting waiting on all items, even after 24 hurs of being charged. finally got frustrated and sent the unit back to the shipper this monday. apple tech support would not work with me becdause the original pad was sold in march, i assume to my shipper. will buy a new i-pad direct from apple as soon as my account is credited by the prvious shipper

I have wanted an iPad ever since they were first launched and this year I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy one.I was so happy when I got it and I use it everyday. I really and truly love it and have it with me all the time. I have many apps on it for gaming and reading, gardening and connecting with family.My kids also are thrilled when they can have 15 minutes of iPad time when they are caught being extra good during the day. Some of the pre-school apps are wonderful for learning phonics and numbers.I have recently added several movies onto it and created an iPad holder to hang on the back of the passengers side seat so the kids can watch programs while we are on long trips.We enjoy this product so much and wish we had bought one sooner!

Not sure if I received a defective Ipad, but the brightness setting frequently become very bright even with the auto brightness switch turned off. For the price paid I am not a happy camper.

I had the kindle fire hd and returned it 4x. My son said try the iPad. This was the best idea. He set it up and have not put it down since. The movies are so clear. The pictures look nice. Very easy to use and for some of us, me, that makes it even better. I am so glad I purchased this.This came a lot sooner than expected. Now where I am so is my iPad.I say try it and I am sure you will be as pleased as I am.

Good construction and operating system. Really fast processing, still too pricey when compared with other tablets, I guess you pay a premium for Apple products. I hope they re-think this marketing approach.

I think this was my fault but my only complaints are shortcomings I never considered when I bought my iPad. I never realized this "model" iPad would be incapable of using anything but wi-fi. I was under the impression, like the iPhones, there would be an option to get a broadband plan for those times when wi-fi isn't available. Unfortunately, I didn't learn this until a few weeks later. My other issue is that the iPad cannot text or IM to any non-Apple device. You can email, just not text. With this issue however, there are apps you can get which will allow for texting to other devices. They aren't quite as simple to use(just a few more steps) but I'm sure that is by design. So do your research better than I did, especially if you want to take your iPad with you and need the option of buying a plan for it.

I BOUGHT THIS ITEM THREE DAYS AGO AND I RECIVED IT TODAY. I THOUGHT I WAS BUYING A GOOD PRODUCT, IT WAS SAVERLEY SCRATCHED ON THE SCREEN, THE SIDES AND BACK WERE FULL OF DINTS AND NO BOOK FOR IT OR CHARGER. I WILL NEVER BUY A PRODUCT FROM THIS SELLER AGAIN.

I take with me wherever I go :) I am new to tablets, but it is so nice to not carry something heavy around. The screen looks great and I can access all of my day to day emails. I don't use too much on it, but the kids like to watch movies and play games.

Superb hardware, my only gripe is the "OK" mono speaker. iOS is a constant irritant to me, totally Apple, they dictate to the user what they can and can't do or view on the machine. Luckily 2rd party suppliers have produced software to compensate, and with that software iOS becomes usable. I eagerly await someone producing an OS for this device that really exploits its capabilities.

I was debating whether to get this or the Surface by Microsoft and chose the iPad. I'm elated with the product and would recommend it to all. You won't be disappointed! The only complaint is that it won't allow you to play games and videos on FB. That gets a thumbs down!

Everybody knows that this is a great product. Great design, fast, nice, practical, los of applications. I work with the computer everyday at the office and all day long. So this product turns out to be a great resource when I get home and I don't want to turn on the computer again. This is a great option for web browsing, entertainment and even very useful applications.Totally recommend it!

I purchased the 3rd Gen version after seeing it used in other places. I didn't have to have the latest and greatest and this serves me well just fine. Waiting on the iOS 7 update to come out soon. Works great as a hot spot also when needed.

My brand spankin' new Apple iPad (newest version)Ever since I played around with my daughters' iPad, it intrigued me. I put it on my wish list. A few weeks later I pushed "add to cart" and "order now" keys. It became a wonderful Mother's Day gift from my husband...LOL. I tell my kids that I need to get out of the Wilma Flintstone view of all of the technology that's out there. I'm beginning to really understand some of it and actually enjoy it. Watch out Jane Jetson!

These products exceeded my expectations. I am enjoying the convenience, compared to my pc. I am still learning how to use all of the functions. I am enjoying different aspects, such as the camera and how easy it is to take a picture and immediately send it to friends.

This was a gift for my husband and he loves everything about it . . this is a man that had never used a iPad only a laptop but he loves and uses this daily. He is 66 and found it easy to use plus the clarity is the greatest. I also purchased the keyboard for him.
