After months of research and indecision, I bought a refurb iPad 3 from Apple right after the iPad 4 was announced, and then returned it / bought a new iPad 4 over Black Friday. I debated between the iPad 4, mini, Nexus 10, Transformer Prime, and Kindle Fire HD 8.9 (and the Surface tablet for about 5 seconds) and ended up going with the iPad. Here are my thoughts after a month with the iPad and testing the other tablets.Pros1. Smooth user experience - I have a Galaxy S2 for my phone and had a 3GS before that, and though Android for phones is comparable to iOS, the iPad and iOS are seamlessly integrated to optimize load times, switching between apps, etc. while Android tablets sometimes lag2. Battery life3. More apps optimized for tablet / high resolution - everything on the mini looked fuzzy in comparisonCons1. Weight - iPad is heavier than the Nexus 10 and more than 2x the mini2. iOS is probably better suited for phones than for tablets, where android's customization / widgets would make for a better user experienceThe iPad has met my expectations. It's not perfect - lighter and more customization would be nice, but it's best in class for 2012, till the next set of product launches.

I don't really have anything to compare this to however I can say that I use it daily it is nice to be able to sit on the couch and surf the net. The freedom of not being stuck to a desk is great. The battery gives me plenty of charge I do not use it but a few hours of the day and usually only have to charge it every three days. The one thing I do not like that irritates me is that it is not flash compatible. This is the only notepad computer I have used so I really have nothing to compare it to. I would love to get my hands on something using the android operating system to compare. One feature this has that I use a lot is voice dictation which I am using right now it makes entering data very very fast. I do plan on purchasing set of speakers that is Bluetooth compatible, the sound on this is acceptable for general use but if you want to enjoy music external speakers are a must. Note this only has one speaker.

I use my I-pad for face-time with our grandkids. I also like to play my games and do puzzles without losing pieces. It has a reminder calendar, so I can keep track of all my appointments and e-mail along with my scriptures and church apps, and phone numbers. I can used it for almost everything except as a phone.

I ordered an iPad 3, it arrived in 2 days. I was so excited taking off the wrapping and opening the iPad box and was horrified when I saw an old DVD hard drive in the place of where my new iPad should have been. I realized I had been scammed and was irate, I just spend hundreds of dollars, just to find an old DVD hard drive. I will NEVER order from this company again.

Got the new iPad 3 and works flawlessly.. Actions are very smooth, graphics are top notch! Love the retina display.. The wireless works excellent as well. Well worth the price we paid. There are also lots of great convenience features with gestures, great application performance on various 3D games etc. Couldn't be more pleased.

I received the ipad in a timely manner and the ipad works as it should. The two problems are that the description of the product was that it was in excellent condition but after I ordered the product I recieved a call to tell me the unit was not in the condition as described on the website. The second problem was that the charger which came with it had a broken wires that I had to repair. I did keep the product as it is working as it should.

Love my ipad! It's all it's cracked up to be, with the exception of lacking a USB port. Caveat emptor I guess, but I wish I could download my photos from my camera to the ipad.... Nice graphics, easy to use.

I had an IPAD2 but wanted more GB so got this IPAD. The Retina display is amazing!! I have been taking pictures on my IPHONE with HRD....when you see them on the IPAD they are simply beautiful. Also any of the Apps that are in HD are terrific. I love the IPAD...so easy to,use but I am a little prejudice when it comes to Apple. We have IMACs..Air Books..mini IPads..IPhones..IPODS...what's not to love!???????

I use mine in a portfolio case for work and then in a LifeProof waterproof case for use in an offroad vehicle for GPS with no phone signal. Make s a huge GPS display much larger than even very expensive Lowrance or similar systems. Use RAM mounts for any mounting needed. Many apps for GPS ... works great deep in the forest. Fair battery life.

We all love our iPads I also enjoyed the discount amazon had off the apple store. Worth it when you know how to work apple products already. I wish I bought the 3 g model though it was the same price a few weeks later. Still loving it though.

My iPad seems to be attached to me now, as I hardly ever put it down. My poor laptop is lonely and sad because I hardly ever touch it anymore. This thing does everything! The photos that it takes are much better than the ones I take with my camera. It's perfect for FaceTime with family that lives far away. So lightweight and easy to use. I don't use my kindle anymore either, since it's easier to read with the iPad. Can't say enough nice things about it! ☺

My IPAD 3 wi fi constantly slows down or loses connectivity after fifteen minutes in public wi fi spots. It does well at home. In hotspots it's unusable. I went twice to the apple store and a genius did a reset of wi fi networks, went out to test, no better, returned and requested an exchange as its still under warranty. The manager said their "process"requires a total system reset first. So they reset it and I had to leave. Still no good.Contrast this with customer service with Verizon where I had a defective earphone jack on a droid phone. They took my word for it, shipped a new phone out immediately and a container to return the old phone. You bet I will stay with them.My next tablet will be an Android. Apple no longer has a monopoly on tablets which seems to elude them.A also have a Kindle Fire HD which is great. I will have to make a third trip to the Apple store which is not convenient.After my third trip to the Apple store, they honored the warranty and gave me a new and working iPad 3. I must say, the apps for the iPad work very well give it an edge for now.

I was thrilled to get the iPad and took it up to AT&T to have the cell service connected. I got home and the iPad would not connect to the cell service. I was told by AT&T that the iPad has been reported stolen. Back and forth with AT&T and the Amazon shipper and still it wouldn't work. They said it had a restriction on it. I sent it back and will try again.

I have an iPhone4, Macbook Pro, and the latest iPad. The MacBook Pro has a pretty darned good wireless card. The iPhone 4 and the iPad are pretty ridiculous, and very disappointing. I would not have bought the iPad if I had known it was so poor. If they can't do any better, I think they will lose market share to competitors. Love my Apple devices, but you gotta be able to pick up a wireless signal!

Purchased Apple iPad with Retina Display MD512LL/A (64GB, Wi-Fi, Black)on April 8 and by June 1st the battery would no longer hold a charge.Dealing with Apple since the seller only had a 30 day return policy, and Apple has not been very honest in the way they are dealing with things.Until they correct the problem I can not give a good review on this item at all!The battery does not hold a charge, the iPad get hot to the touch.A fully charged battery at midnight is down to 2% by 7am.Apple says their diagnostic shows the battery is fine.What a joke! Contacting my CC company to see what my remedies are now.

Ridiculous distributor. I didn't open the package and changed my mind of buying IPAD3. Then I return to them and bought IPAD 4. They charged me 40 bucks which I don't believe that's the right way.I will not select them again. NEVER!!!

Takes awesome pictures! Love the apps. I owned an iPad for nearly 4 years then gave it to my son and bought the kindle Fire HD.. After 4 months I sent it back and purchased the iPad 4. Oh what a feeling I so missed and do love the iPad 4,. Never gonna give you up again.

Had it for over a month and so far it exceeds expectations. The speed is great, wifi connection good, and the retina display is jaw-droppingly beautiful. Wish the battery lasted longer but charging it is no problem. Other thing is my Brother printer isn't a compatible "airprinter", which is a downer, but not a huge deal as I don't need to print directly much. Web browsing is fun, iMessage replaces texting from my cell phone (saving me $$), and streaming videos is a joy. This is my first tablet and I couldn't be happier. Oh yeah, I got the 16gb and it fills up fast.. Do yourself a big favor and get at least 32gb, I wish I did.

It is now my first choice for web browsing, and it is great for reading e-books. And it is more and more often my preferred way to watch movies and TV programs.Before buying, I compared this iPad to other high-quality tablets such as the 10-inch Nexus. As far as the displays go, the iPad was the clear winner. If the quality of the graphics is high on your list of priorities for a tablet, the 4th generation iPad is far and away the best choice.

I bought two Ipads one daughter going off to the Navy & my other graduating with her Bachelor's Degree going on to get her Masters the Ipads are very nice a little pricey but the resistance to viruses for apple products was the final seller for me. So far the kids love them and they work as described. The seller was great and they arrived very quickly!!

This is the second iPad at home. I received the iPad1 two years ago as a gift that I turned to my wife. When the iPad came into the market I thought it was just a bigger iPod touch, but it is much more than that. Its display allows to be used as a game pad for kids or adults, a great news paper reader, e-book reader, photo frame, instant internet browser and as I have done, reading personal and corporate e-mail. Its vast application store gives you access to thousand of free applications.Early adopters of iPad has the benefit of downloading free applications (or 99c apps) that later required purchased or a price increment, but as an early adopter those apps can be downloaded to you new iPad without requiring to purchase them again.Unless not all applications has been upgraded to the new retina display, it is noticeable when you open your photo library or the background photo. In some cases those not upgraded applications seems worst because the HD display make bad pictures to seem worse (similar to watching a SD program on an HD TV).The drawback that I have noticed on both iPhone 4S and newiPad (I have not tested the iPad1) is that when I connect them to my car AUX input they both does not seem to give enough power volume, so it requires to turn car stereo volume to it's maximum, so a lot of noise is then perceived. I do compare with an classic iPod and a Blackberry that perform much better on this circumstances.I have purchased a magnet case, but I have turned off the turn on on open since there are a lot of miss fires due an small movement. There should be a setting to turn it on by opening and touching the screen or something to prevent miss fire.One thing that I miss on iPad is the ability to take pictures even it is blocked (as the iPhone 4S) also to mute music when it is locked.

The back of the ipad has some damage and the front camera has a black line through the image. The screen creeks or squeaks when I touch on it. Beware I think when they say like new they lied.
