This was a present from my husband that I really wanted. It is great to use and I use it every day. I do not have it tied to any carrier at this time. I use wifi only and bluetooth.

Great tablet for those that want the simplicity of an apple product without more advanced options for storage. The display is superb. I also have an Acer Iconia A700 with a beautiful display but I have to be honest, I love the android OS and the A700 has a great screen but the Apple just looks better in all lighting conditions and the touch response is superb. Apple has the most apps available and most android apps have an Apple counterpart so you sure can't go wrong there. My only complaints are not so much on the Ipad but the philosophy behind it, NO easy expansion options. There are ways to take more movies and music with you using a mobile wifi external USB or card reader such as the EasyACC device but it is more cumbersome than just sliding in a card as I can do with the Acer. Tablets are a product that many of use are now heavily reliant on. I travel a lot and a laptop was always kind of a pain to lug around. This Ipad is definitely a high quality item with exceptional battery life and great user experience as long as you factor in the limitations of the minute 16GBs of storage.

Got this for my aunt and it's brand new, just as described. Got the $20 prepaid data (2Gb) by calling Verizon and it worked perfectly within 2 minutes. Perfect for anyone who would be on the road for a trip and needs data access.

I am so very pleased with my Apple ipad. It is everything I've read & heard about &more. The screen is the perfect size for me and I love the quick start up.They have made a wonderful product which makes using the internet a breeze..I just wish they would include a users manual with the product because there is so much more to learn about.R.D.

I am extremely happy with my I-Pad! I replaced the Samsung tablet I purchased about 4 months ago. The Samsung I felt was a good tablet. I won't say I was anti Apple but I was trying to justify my reasons for buying the Samsung. I got tired of hearing how good Apple is....how clear the picture is compared to Samsung etc. so, I purchased an Apple I-pad. I figured I still have my Samsung. If I don't like the Apple I will return it and get my money back.After using my Apple for a few weeks now, I am totally sold on this product! If fact I am considering a total change to Apple for all of my computer needs! Next it will be a switch from my Dell desktop to the Apple 27 inch desktop. I have been a Dell customer for approximately 20 years!Apple is a more expensive way to go, but I feel it is the best way for me. I think Apple products are very much worth the price difference..in my opinion!Why have I strayed somewhat away from the review of the Apple I-pad! I wanted to express my feelings about a company that I could care less about that changed because of 1 of their products....the Apple iPad with the Retina Display MD511 LL/A (32 GB, Wi -Fi, Black). If you want total satisfaction with an iPad, the tablet is for you!

the ipad was received in a timely fashion and appeared to be brand new as advertised, but it was missing the at&t sim card. when i inquired about that, i was told it did not come with one but the box clearly states that it is included. when ipad shop was informed, they said i could get one free, which is true, by going to any at&t store. ipad shop was very accomodating, but could not send me a sim card. they told me i could return the ipad for a full refund. they assured me the product was new. i then called apple computer because i assume they are responsible for packaging this product with the sim card included. they told me the product was NOT NEW because it had been previously registered in another country!!!!! they would not tell me the country or the registered owner. when i registered the product with apple for warranty, the purchase date was not my purchase or order date but about 1 month shy of the 12 months included with new apple ipads!! Amazon documented this and assured me they would make good on the full warranty. i find all this to be very disturbing as it is obvious that no one wants to come clean about the history of this product. companies just pass the buck. especially disappointing to me was Apples response to me. They should be most concerned about the packaging of their products. They assured me that this would not have happened if i purchased from apple directly!!!!!!

The size is perfect for my purposes. Easy to hold for reading books on line. I purchased it to take pictures at an event and it performed as expected and the pictures are bright and clear.

You need to invest heavily in the apple ecosystem to really enjoy the iPad. Basic requirements of music/video playback, or pdf/ebook (personal collection) reading out of the box is non existent. That along with a mere 16gb of storage does make this still a purchase worth thinking twice about. And to top it all the memory increment is exorbitantly overpriced, especially looking at the contemporary SD/microSD card prices. Apple still continues to rake in moolah just by flaunting their brand, though the reliability of the same is increasingly deteriorating.

Just an FYI to anyone looking to purchase a 4th gen iPad 16gb. You can get these direct from Apple for $399. Hopefully Amazon will realize this and lower their price accordingly.Perhaps its an incentive to buy a Kindle Fire? Don't. Once you go iPad you'll never go back. Either buy direct from Apple or wait for Amazon to catch up on their pricing. Retina display is worth it. I'm a PC/droid guy but IMO you can't beat the iPad and iPod.

I had a 64GB, WiFi only iPad2 previously and LOVED it. I purchased this one for the 4G option. I am experiencing the following:- The screen flickers when I am using my notes app- The screen "hangs up" when I swipe from one app to another- Sometimes the screen freezes altogether and I have to power off & on the get it moving again.If there is a way to fix these issues I would be grateful.As it stands, I am not happy with this purchase.

the product met my expectation. i bought a used iPad 3 but believe me it came in as if it had never been taken out of the box. it had no sign of wear and tear, its battery life is excellent, its operations are sharp and the microphone is loud. i initially complained about the picture quality but when i checked with my friends that had the same product, it was practically the same and now i am used to it. and concerning the shipping, it came in supper fast(received my package earlier than the estimated date). the only thing is that iPad does not have USB port like some other tablets but with time u find ur way around that, lol. i love my iPad because it has all the features i wanted in a tablet.

I like this iPad. It's easy to use....still learning about it, though. I am having difficulty with watching videos...they uploaded faster when I first got the iPad, but now are taking a very long time and some never stop buffering. I suspect it's not the iPad, though.

Works well, mine in wi fi and sprint enabled. Sprint does not have unlimited data option. I would have selected another cell carrier had I known and the limited data options are quite expensive. Mass deleting of emails is more of a chore than it should be.

I received the original version of the iPad in Dec 2010 and used it happily for nearly 3 years, then noticed that performance seemed to be getting slower and that many new apps were not compatible with the old operating system, which could not be updated. This new iPad has proven many times faster than the old one, and its other features (latest OS, cameras, Siri, etc) made it a very worthwhile purchase. I use it several times every day. It may not be the iPad Air (which was announced just a week or so after I ordered this), but it's still a great item.

I had a I-pad 3rd generation and it was stolen by a Thrifty car rental employee in Key West Airport!! I purchased this and love it. The 4th generation is great. I would recommend purchasing from Amazon anytime!!

This is my first ipad, so l dont have anyone else to compare with. By the way, l'm happy with this one. It's easy to use and very addictive... it's perfect to see my pictures and l have downloaded many free app too.

I see that many excellent reviews about this iPad have already been entered, so I just want to point out the one thing that is most salient to me. I've owned each of the iPads (1, 2, 3, & mini) and just received this one. It is very obviously faster than iPad 3! I cannot believe the number of "professional" reviewers on tech sites stating that they didn't really notice any difference.I was enraptured when I first obtained iPad 3, and felt at the time that the retina display ticked off my last "needs" box as far as tablet computing. But as I lived with it, it became annoying waiting on its A5X to scroll in a dense webpage ----- daily so. And the internet browsing experience is the real reason to consider upgrading to the 4 from the 3; it really is that much better. To use one of my favorite iDevice information websites as an example, go to www.imore.com on the iPad 3, and observe the staccato, stop-and-go browsing experience as you navigate down the page. Now, do the same on the iPad 4; it's smooth as silk.I'll still be looking for the retina iPad mini when it arrives (looks like 2014 at this rate), but other than the slight heaviness of this iPad 4, I'm completely satisfied. Noting the never-ending march to smaller-thinner-and-lighter-yet-longer-battery-life, it's difficult to see what Apple can do to improve upon this one.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my wife. She uses it every day, and cannot stop raving about it! We have Apple laptops and phones, so it allows for everything to sync together.

Colour was white, not black as advertised. No documents or manual. Power plug/cable quit working on 3rd recharge. No point in returning as it was needed immediately and would have only added to the problems.

Sold my iPad 2 back to Amazon, and was debating between this iPad (64GB) 4th Gen or the new iPad Air. From what I seen on reviews they are basically the same except for size and weight difference. While this iPad is a little on the heavy side, it is definitely a lot faster than my previous iPad 2 and the retina display is awesome! Not too mention I kept the same cases from iPad 2.

This is definitely a welcome upgrade to my ipad 2 which hs served me well. The retina display has twice the pixel density and makes text and pics crystal clear and sharp. Faster processor is nice as well. If you don't like iOS then this is not for you. Don't listen to the negative reviews if those that do not like apple products. This is a solid piece if hardware from apple. Make sure you do your homework because a lot of the ones listed on here are more than you can buy them for new in the store. They go for 399 new so don't be fooled.
