I tried three different headphones. Klipsch S4i- II Radius Atomic Bass, V- Moda Remix.
I use my headphones primarily at the gym. I also use them on planes and for just listening to music at home. I was looking for headphones that produce excellent sound without being astronomically expensive. I looked for headphones that could produce thumping bass... when I want it. While thumping bass is important for my workouts, I sought well-balanced sound for non-workout listening. I also listen to some amateur live recordings that can be of lesser quality, or lacking in mids/highs.
Klipsch S4i - the clear winner. I would rate as 4.75 stars out of 5. (But Amazon doesn't allow that.)
Comfortable in my ears. After an hour of use, my ears are not even remotely uncomfortable.
Deep bass, full mids,crisp highs. I couldn't ask for more. I can also jam up the equalizer and really make the bass thump without distortion when I use these at the gym. My live recordings sound good.
Some cons: They are well-made, although the wire connection to the earbuds seems a little thin. I hope it will hold up. Sometimes the highs can be a little too crisp, which is why a knocked of a quarter star.
They are more expensive than the two below. (But sometimes ya get what you pay for?)
Radius Atomic Bass 2- Second Place, but a distant second
Not horrible if you want nothing but bass. The bass is definitely thumping, but that's about it. It just sounds dull. I tried using an equalizer to balance it out, but had no luck with it. My live recordings were completely washed out. They were also uncomfortable in my ear, but not as bad as the V-Moda. They seem cheaply made. But they are less expensive than the Klipsch.
V-Moda Remix- Third Place, but a very far third place.
Dull sound all around. No bass no highs. They also caused pain to my ears after only 15 minutes. I tried different size tips, but if you go too low on the tip size, you do not get the seal that is necessary for the buds to be effective. I couldn't use them for long, so I have little to say other than- dull sound, pain in my ear.

the wire is annoying when ever it rubs against something youll hear it i recommend that you use them only when stationary. Other than that the quality is good

Nonfunctional after about 8 mos. I have had previous s4is and also needed warranty replacement. Avoid like the plague. After contacting the warranty support, it says they will respond within 7 business days. I don't know about you, but 7 business days before even contacting me about my nonfunctional headphones is unacceptably long. Not thrilled with Klipsch at the moment, and will likely be exploring a new go-to headphone brand.

They took a great product and ruined it by changing the cord shape (I don't know how to describe it).. it is flat instead of rounded... which means when you move around, you hear the wire moving against you. This was a problem in the previous version, BUT it wasn't this bad. Had to return these. Sound quality is still great and the headphones stay in your ear.

I love Klipsch. But I had to buy a more expensive pair to replace these.
Pros: Great sound.
Cons: Within a month, the left channel stopped working. Within three months, neither channel worked. The remote worked, but not the sound!
Returns are impossibly hard once Amazon's window is closed. Though the warranty is for a year, Klipsch makes it impossible to return from their website. They direct you to the reseller. So, neither Klipsch or Amazon will help.
Earbuds are so small that they are awkward to fit in the ear canal, and I've nearly lost a rubber bud in my ear canal. Can be painful to wear.
They fall out easily.

I ordered this pair of Klipsch S4i II's to replace my old pair of S4i's that I loved. I would put those in my ears and workout for an hour or so and not notice they were there or have to mess with them at all. Problem is the remote buttons quit working on that pair after a few years, so I ordered these gen 2's. I liked the fact that this second generation had the tangle free ribbon style cord and would hopefully continue on with the sound/price/performance value that I felt I got from the first generation Klipsch pair. The problem is I use these for working out and yard work mostly. The new sturdier tangle free cord was a little too stiff and sturdy. Slight movement would push the cord and dislodge them from my ears. I was constantly having to push them back in to get the proper seal again in my ear, and in the middle of a number of exercises they would even fall right out. It was the most annoying few weeks I've had with a pair of headphones. I even took the ear pads off of my old pair and put on the new pair thinking maybe they were just a little more broken in and conformed to my ears than the new pads. That didn't help at all. The 2 times I had a call with them my wife asked me what all the crunching noise was, so I'm not sure the mic works as well either. No one ever knew I was using headphones for a call with my first pair. I really, really wanted to love them like I did the gen 1 version. For a commuter or someone sitting at a desk these might work great. The cord is a quality improvement as far as durability I would imagine. Just not for the active user in my experience. I returned these and got my refund today. Since you can still order the 1st generation version I may just do that. I haven't had much success with Bluetooth (for fit and sound). So I'll give these 3 stars for the same sound quality I enjoy from Klipsch headphones and I guess the improved duarable, tangle free quality of the cable. I can't go any higher since they don't do what I want and I'm unsure about the call quality on these.

Use them with my HTC One for more than an year, still going strong. No issues with broken wires or worn out ear pieces. Sound quality is good with HTC one, LG G3 with but will vary with the player. Happy with the purchase.

These are fantastic in-ear headphones, and Klipsch customer service is great. I had them for just under a year when they stopped working in one ear. Klipsch sent a replacement very quickly and with out any fuss. The replacement pair has now been working no problems for over a year.
The buttons on the remote are easy to use, and function well. The microphone is good and I haven't had any complaints from people, I've spoken too.
My only minor complaint is the wire is a bit un-flexable and can get in the way at times. It also transmits movement noise to the ears.

I often neglect to write reviews which is a bit poor form seeing as how I rely on them so much so thought it was time I corrected this.
I've had a fair few different pairs of in-ear headphones. From some of Sony's first offerings to Sennheiser CX-300 through to the CX-300 mark II and some RHA 450i's with the threaded wiring.
The main reason I've been through so many is durability. A lot of the time I'll lose sound from one ear. On the sony's the wiring got too hot and melted the rubber! On the RHA's the thread started to fray. I also needed earphones with an inline remote that wasn't too bulky. These Klipsch's are perfect so far. The ribbon style of wiring which I hadn't used before is definitely more durable as it's pretty impossible to get these badly tangled (which a lot of the time is what leads to wiring damage). The inline buttons are reponsive and the sound easily matches the CX-300's. They definitely do the job. Haven't really found a downside so honestly can't put anything regarding that.

I remembered the one negative I wanted to point out. If (for some reason) you are one of the very few people who run or work out to entirely acoustic music you may find there's too much wire noise with it bashing against your body. But who listens to acoustic to go running?? It's more a fault of the in-ear design than these specifically.

After just over a year they finally gave up on me. Interestingly when I started subjecting them to more torture (they became my main gym pair) that's when they died. BUT unlike lot's of other earphones these had a 2 YEAR warranty, not the standard 1 year which wouldn't have covered me. I got in touch with Klipsch and they're sending me some replacements but with only a 1 year warranty. So a bit of good and bad, still the longest lasting earphones I've owned thanks to a longer free warranty but not indestructible.

Very high quality earbuds. Not noise-cancelling, but when you have music playing, it sure seems like it. Phone functionality is quite nice as well

Now, about the price tag. I have to say that the audio quality is definitely there. It's superb.
However I can't say the same about the build quality of these and reading the reviews it seems that others have been having the same issues as well. Most online reviews can't perfectly judge build quality because they don't have the time to use them long enough. That's why they mainly focus on audio and how they fit.
Within 1,5 years I'm now on my 3rd pair. The cable has a tendency to break within from the base of the 2,5mm plug. My previous ones were the no. 1 model which I paid around 60e at my local store. They broke after a year or so, and because my store didn't have them anymore I got these through warranty and within 6 months they broke as well. This kind of quality is what you'd expect out of what? 5-10e earplugs?
Now I'm kind off fine when it comes to replacing them, because I can always just drive to the store and get these instead of the cheaper rev 1 -models. And they don't have any good alternatives at this price range/audio quality there. Sooner or later though, it'll cost me more because of gas price. Can't even imagine how hard it can get for those who have to go through warranty online, or don't have a car or a store nearby.
But why do these cost this much more to begin with? They have the same audio quality as the first ones and the build quality is worse. Should I honestly believe that a flat cable (which I think is the source of them breaking more often) is worth the price? It's absolutely absurd. It seems that they saw how popular the first model was, increased the price and threw a flat cable in there to trick people. Even though it should be self explanatory on a 2nd gen model and worth 5e at most. If you absolutely have to go with Klipsch for some reason and think the quality's worth it, then get the first ones which are nearly half the price. Klipsch Image S4i Headphones -with built-in mic (iPhone Compatible). These are just... Ugh...

Best headphones I've ever had! I have owned many different pairs of headphones but these are so far the best. I've had bose, sony, beats, and many others I could list. Dont waste your money on the over marketed piece of junk beats headphones. If you want headphones that sound high quality buy these, I promise you wont be disappointed! You cant beat the price either! These are also very comfortable and stay in my ears until I decide I want to take them out. I love the oval shape design. I can wear them for hours and they feel like they aren't even there. The only thing I will say is that if you are looking for headphones with heavy bass, these might not be for you. I listen to all different types of music so thats why i bought theses. If you only listen to hip-hop then you might want to look for something else. If you want a well balanced headphone, dont think twice and buy these!

Head phones have mediocre sound at best.
One side quit working after 3 weeks.
Klipsch customer support is slow, makes you jump through hoops and then finally will not replace the earphones as they say that the seller is not an "authorized dealer".

All I can say is these head phones are great. I had their first model and they lasted me for ever. I upgraded to these because it was time to upgrade and again these are awesome ear buds for the price they're worth it. I think they have great sound as well.

This is the best headphones that I ever had. I have owned many different pairs of headphones but these are the best one. It is light, compact and the sound is really good. Such a high quality sound. This headphone are very comfortable and stay in my ears until I want to take them off. I love the head phone design and how comfy it is. I can wear it for hours and not notice they are there. This headphone come with heavy bass so it is depend on how we like it. I love it those, because I love bass when listen to music or watching a movie. Don't think about the price before you buying it because it is worth the money that you spend. I definitely will buy it again.

Just over 3 months and the product no longer works. Buyer beware. I cannot find information on how to contact Quality Photo the seller of this product as there name is no longer a link you can click and start the contact process. I cannot return it because Amazon says it's beyond the return date. Klipsch will not warranty the product because Quality Photo is not an authorized seller. This is no doubt a knock-off product. It will fail after several months of usage. Buyer beware of Quality Photo items for sale.

I've had these for 5 months and one side blew out, no sound. Klipsch would not honor their two year warranty because I purchased it from a non-authorized dealer. Don't buy any Klipsch earbuds and definitely don't buy them from Quality Photo.

These headphones sound pretty good and fit fairly comfortable in my ears. They come with a fair amount of accessories to customize the fit which is cool. I also like the shape of the cord (flat) as well as the length specifically for when I am using them with a personal computer, laptop, etc.
However, if you plan on using these while exercising, the product design has some pretty inconvenient flaws. The length of the cord gets in the way when using them for sports or exercise (like mountain biking). The lowness of the controls is awkward if you run your cord under your shirt because way too much cord has to pop out of the front of your collar in order to have access to the controls, unless you let it tangle down inside your shirt in front of your chest. The controls hang about right at my nipple. I am used to apple controls which hang near my chin/neck. Also, the controls are fairly bulky making them kind of heavy and want to pull the ear buds out of your ears with any active motion.

These are great headphones that I use with my iPhone and my Playstation 4 everyday. The sound is great and having the controls and the microphone made it perfect for calls, music, etc. Unfortunately, the controls/microphone stopped working even though the audio is still coming through fine. This is after regular use for 9 months of use.
I have contacted Klipsch and will see if they will repair/exchange them.

This is the second Klipsch that I have bought. As impressive as the first one. Excellent exterior noise reduction, excellent bass, robust. The first one I used for three years in heavy and some times wet conditions before it presented problems in the controls. This new model is still 100% functional. I highly recommend if you require a high quality yet very robust headphone.

The left half of these headphones stopped working two months in.
That's past Amazon's return policy, which the seller—TandHProducts—stands behind. And Klipsch doesn't recognize TandHProducts as an authorized dealer (http://www.klipsch.com/unauthorized), therefore rebuking its own warranty.
So, this needs to be trashed now. Not worth it at all, and certainly I wouldn't have purchased if Amazon/TandHProducts had made clear the risk of buying this from the unauthorized user. It should be stated clearly when the buyer is losing power of warranty.

Loved the sound quality and the fit at first, but after a couple of months, the right earbud is not as loud as the left and has a crackle in the treble. Because the order was not through a qualified retailer (Amazon is, but resellers through Amazon are not), I am not eligible for the warranty. Big bummer, as I was a big fan of my last pair of Klipsch headphones.

Although I had problems with my first set of headphones, for some reasons they stopped working properly after not even 4 months and it looked that the problem was with the cable and the jack, I have received a replacement and I am very happy with the ones I've got now.

I'm not an audiophile. I listen to a lot of music, but I also use these to have business conversations. I cannot discern between "great" sound and "decent" sound quality.
However, I can tell when a product's practicality was sacrificed for whatever else makes these good. Placing the control/microphone in the center, where the left/right split from each other is idiotic. Hanging down my front, it is too far away from my mouth to deliver good sound to the person on the other end. I either have to (a) hold the microphone to my mouth or (b) turn the volume way up so that the other party can hear me and in the process, blow out my ear drums. Also, this defeats the "hands-free" purpose of having microphone headphones in the first place. True, it comes with a clip that would allow me to secure it closer to my mouth at the top of my shirt, but then the stiffer tangle-free cord (which I liked) sort of pops out to the sides, rather than hanging down, which in turn dislodges the earbuds from my ears if I move my head too much.
Also, putting the control in the center, it tends to pull the earbuds out of my ears if I'm not very careful about how I move.
I use these while sitting in front of a computer, while driving, while walking, while doing chores around the house. I work from home and have to be able to answer a work call at any of those times.

I was looking to replace my Bose in ear headphones because the Bose broke after a year (the wire on those are terrible). I wanted the best sound I could get for under $100 and noticed these were highly rated when they were first released (and they were about $100 then). Now the new R6 is out which replaced these so the price of these dropped by almost half. Good opportunity I thought to get $100 headphones for $59.
The sounds is good. It's ok. It's probably as good as many many other earbuds in the $100 range. However they just didn't have the surprising sound that I remembered I got from my bose in ear set. It's unfortunate Bose has a built quality issue.
For the price though these are a good buy. If you are looking for amazing sound these will just a bit short.
The sounds is good. It's ok. It's probably as good as many many other earbuds in the $100 range. However they just didn't have the surprising sound that I remembered I got from my bose in ear set. It's unfortunate Bose has a built quality issue.
For the price though these are a good buy. If you are looking for amazing sound these will just a bit short.

Headphones worked great for 9 months, under daily use. Then voice audio stopped working, likely due to frayed/damaged wires near the plug. I contacted Klipsch about warranty replacement (1 year) to which they replied that the re-seller i purchased from on Amazon.com was not authorized.
I contacted quality photo but have yet to hear anything.

Sound not as good as expected based on other reviews. I compared these to an inexpensive iKross earbud (low volume/thin sounding, Klipsch definitely better than those) and to the Bose MIE2i earbuds (much better sound).
These are mid-priced, seem good quality of build, nice carrying pouch. These go deep into the ear canal (unlike the bose which stays mostly out of the canal). Supposedly these were supposed to have more bass, but to me the Bose had much better bass, and overall tone was natural and smooth. The highs on the Klipsch were also very pronounced, almost strident/harsh sounding. The Klipsh is definitely louder.
The Bose costs a lot more, but the sound is far superior. The Klipsch were reasonably comfortable, but the bose again were more comfortable to wear (albeit a little trickier to put on).
Overall, as a mid priced earbud, these are ok, but the Bose was worth the additional money in comparison.

Very disappointed in these. I received them back on August 7th. Was initially very happy as the sound was great, the microphone worked well, and so did the volume control. Fast forward 3 months and the microphone is already not working and neither are the volume controls on the wire. This is a problem as the main reason I got them was for this ability and now 3 months later already don't work. Not sure what to do because I can't return them now and will be stuck having to pay more money for another pair of earbuds. I will look elsewhere going forward.

These are the S4i not the S4i-II. Sound quality with these is not as good as past models I've had. Avoid at all costs.

These are the only headphones I've ever bought that stay in my ear regardless of what I'm doing. I have at tragus piercing, which makes it difficult for me to find in ear headphones, but these work super well. They also sound great and have a carrying case that is really useful. I never have to untangle these!

Mediocre fit and poor sound quality sums it up.
I should have trusted reviews before purchasing. These are a toy compared to the Etymotic hf5 earbuds I lost. The sound is muffled and the bass is not accurate at all. The sound is nowhere near "neutral" or accurate.
The fit is poor for me with all of the tips, but that is probably just my ear.

I liked my first pair of these headphones enough to buy a second pair. The first pair lasted over a year. However, the second pair stopped working within about 3 months.
Pros:
* Relatively good noise isolation
* Good sound for the money
* Has a well-organized iPod/iPhone remote control, no mistakes when answering a call vs. changing volume
* Relatively long cable is useful
Cons
* Very poor durability
* Awful, awful microphone for phone calls. People I called complained constantly about background noise being too loud. Further, I could hear the background noise that mic was picking up in the earbuds during calls. Pretty terrible for phone calls.

Broke in less than three months. Right ear phone went dead. This is an issue with all Klipsch headphones I have owned in the last two years. All die within only a couple months. Worthless scam.

Good sound. These are my second pair and I'd get another. New flat cord is much better than the previous one as far as tangles and breaking as the wire did in my first pair. The fit could be better for me, but I have a hard time getting a good fit.

I bought these headphones on 9/22. It's now 11/21 and the right side headphone is broken (no sound). I'm very careful with my headphones. These were kept in the handy little case and wrapped nicely each time I put them away. Bummer since these were the most expensive headphones I'd ever purchased and they didn't even last two months. Also, no returns after 30 days, so I'm out the $$. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend these.

Really poorly made. Mine broke in only two months of use. Klipsch has an awful customer service. They did not even consider my warranty since I purchased this on a lower than regular price ($65). This is a super hyped up headphone. Going back to Sennheiser again.

Had these headphones for years, have been with me through countless numbers of work travel trips and has not failed me yet. The mic works great, clear with no issues as of yet. The sound is clear and dynamic with effective isolation ear pads. Highly recommended, you wont regret it.

I have had these ear buds since Feb 2014. They worked great at first. The sound quality is wonderful and the bass on these buds are better than the majority of buds I have owned. I also enjoy the noise isolation for airplane flights because it helps me sleep.
However, the construction leaves something to be desired; I have noticed in the past several weeks that one of the silicone buds comes loose and I have to find it in my purse an awful lot. Further, the R ear bud went dead about a week ago. In comparison to my previous Klipsch S2s that I had for 3 years, these pooped out quite soon.
I have asked Klipsch for a replacement and will keep you posted on the quality of their customer service.

These have good sound (for the money) but do not hold up well. Within first year, the right speaker wire/connection has already come loose inside. As this is a few days after the 1 yr warranty (funny how that works), it will be interesting to see if Klipsch stands behind their products.

I did really like this product when I first received it however after not much use at all the remote stopped working. The sound drops out at times or skips. I have checked it on a few devices to be certain it is the headphones and not my phone. Considering the price I was expecting to get a lot more use out of these.

Unless you are planning to lie down perfectly still without moving - for instance, a coffin - the noise these earphones will generate from the cord rubbing on your clothes will often overpower the sound coming into your ears. Furthermore, if you're having a telephone conversation while moving, the cord noise will overpower the conversation.
My wife refuses to talk to me while I'm hiking or running with these headphones. For some of you, I expect I've convinced you to purchase multiple pairs of these. I know you're thinking 6 stars (minimum) for that feature alone.
However, for those that DO want to listen to music, or have a telephone conversation while on the move...they are a dismal failure. It's unfortunate because the flat cord on the model II doesn't tangle like the thin cord on the model I (which I also owned and loved - hence the purchase of the model II). But the cord noise kills the deal and I'm looking to replace these ASAP.
Buyer beware.
